A family of phenoxo-bridged heterometallic Schiff base trinuclear complexes, [Fe2LnL2(C3H7COO)(H2O)]·CH3OH·CH3CN·H2O (Ln = Sm, 1; Gd, 2; Tb, 3; Dy, 4) is reported. Those complexes were afforded by “one-pot” reaction of a polydentate Schiff base ligand 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-phenylsalicylaldimine (H2L) with Fe(NO3)3·9H2O, Ln(NO3)3·6H2O and sodium butyrate (C3H7COONa) in a mixture of methanol and acetonitrile in the presence of triethylamine as a base. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the structures of the four complexes are isomorphic. In each complex, two anionic [FeL2]? units coordinate to the central lanthanide ion as a tetradentate ligand using its four phenoxo oxygens, forming a two-blade propeller-like molecular shape. Magnetic properties of 1–4 were investigated using variable temperature magnetic susceptibility, and weak ferromagnetic exchange between the FeIII and LnIII ions has been established for the Gd derivative. The Tb and Dy complexes show no evidence of slow relaxation behavior above 2.0 K. 相似文献

Alcoholysis of preformed tetranuclear and hexanuclear iron(III) clusters has been employed for the synthesis of four higher-nuclearity clusters. Treatment of [Fe(4)O(2)(O(2)CMe)(7)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4)) with phenol affords the hexanuclear cluster [Fe(6)O(3)(O(2)CMe)(9)(OPh)(2)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4)) (1). Reaction of [Fe(6)O(2)(OH)(2)(O(2)CR)(10)(hep)(2)] (R = Bu(t) or Ph) with PhOH affords the new "ferric wheel" complexes [Fe(8)(OH)(4)(OPh)(8)(O(2)CR)(12)] [R = Bu(t) (2) or Ph (3)]. Complexes 2 and 3 exhibit the same structure, which is an unprecedented type for Fe(III). In contrast, treatment of [Fe(6)O(2)(OH)(2)(O(2)CBu(t))(10)(hep)(2)] with MeOH leads to the formation of [Fe(10)(OMe)(20)(O(2)CBu(t))(10)] (4), which exhibits the more common type of ferric wheel seen in analogous complexes with other carboxylate groups. Solid-state variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate spin-singlet ground states for complexes 2 and 4. The recently developed semiempirical method ZILSH was used to estimate the pairwise exchange parameters (J(AB)) and the average spin couplings S(A)[empty set].S(B)[empty set] between the Fe(III) centers, providing a clear depiction of the overall magnetic behavior of the molecules. All exchange interactions between adjacent Fe(III) atoms are antiferromagnetic. 相似文献

Three coordination polymers of Robson-type macrocycles, {[Cu4L1(4,4′-bipy)2]·4ClO4·H2O}∞ (1), {[Cu4L2(4,4′-bipy)4]·2CH3CN·4ClO4·2H2O}∞ (2), and {[Zn2L2(4,4′-bipy)2]·(ClO4)2}∞ (3) (where H2L1 and H2L2 are the [2?+?2] condensation products of 1,3-diaminopropane with 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and 2,6-diformyl-4-fluorophenol, respectively), have been synthesized and characterized. Magnetic susceptibility was measured for 1 and 2 from 2 to 300?K. The optimized magnetic data were J?=?–368.5?cm?1, J′?=?40.5?cm?1 with R?=?1.69?×?10?6 for 1 and J?=?–291.22?cm?1, J′?=?83.74?cm?1, ρ = 0.00168 with R?=?1.8?×?10?11 for 2, respectively. The data reveal strong antiferromagnetic interactions between two Cu(II) ions in the macrocyclic unit and ferromagnetic interaction between the Cu(II) ions in two adjacent macrocyclic units for 1 and 2. 相似文献

Convenient, high-yield routes have been developed to [Fe 10(OMe) 20(O 2CR) 10] ( 1) "ferric wheels" involving the alcoholysis of [Fe 3O(O 2CR) 6(H 2O) 3] (+) salts in MeOH in the presence of NEt 3. Reactivity studies have established [Fe 10(OMe) 20(O 2CMe) 10] ( 1a) to undergo clean carboxylate substitution with a variety of other RCO 2H groups to the corresponding [Fe 10(OMe) 20(O 2CR) 10] product. In contrast, the reaction with phenol causes a nuclearity change to give a smaller [Fe 8(OH) 4(OPh) 8(O 2CR) 12] ( 2) wheel. Similarly, reactions of [Fe 10(OMe) 20(O 2CR) 10] with the bidentate chelate ethylenediamine (en) cause a structural change to give either [Fe 8O 5(O 2CMe) 8(en) 8](ClO 4) 6 ( 3) or [Fe 2O(O 2CBu (t))(en) 4](NO 3) 3 ( 4), depending on conditions. Complex 3 possesses a "Christmas-star" Fe 8 topology comprising a central planar [Fe 4(mu 4-O)] (10+) square subunit edge-fused to four oxide-centered [Fe 3(mu 3-O)] (7+) triangular units. Variable-temperature, solid-state dc and ac magnetization studies on complexes 1a- 4 in the 5.0-300 K range established that all the complexes possess an S = 0 ground state. The magnetic susceptibility data for 4 were fit to the theoretical chi M versus T expression derived by the use of an isotropic Heisenberg spin Hamiltonian and the Van Vleck equation, and this revealed an antiferromagnetic exchange parameter with a value of J = -107.7(5) cm (-1). This value is consistent with that predicted by a previously published magnetostructural relationship. Theoretically computed values of the exchange constants in 3 were obtained with the ZILSH method, and the pattern of spin frustration within its core and the origin of its S = 0 ground state have been analyzed in detail. 相似文献

Calculations of exchange coupling constants (J) based on density functional theory for eight complete, nonmodeled ferric wheels have been performed, and a comparison with the values obtained from magnetic susceptibility data is presented. The calculated J values obtained with a generalized-gradient approximation (GGA) functional are in good agreement with the experiment probably because the inclusion of pseudopotentials partially compensates the overestimation of the spin delocalization. The magnetostructural correlation obtained shows a strong dependence of the exchange coupling on both the Fe-O-Fe bond angle and the Fe-O bond distance. This correlation holds for both the ferric wheels and the alkoxo-bridged Fe(III) dinuclear complexes reported in the literature. 相似文献

Four new coordination complexes, M2(Htmopa)4(H2O)4 (M = Zn2+ (1), Mn2+ (2), (M(Htmopa)2(H2O)2)n (M = Ni2+ (3), Co2+ (4)), have been synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of Htmopa (Htmopa = 2,3,6,7-tetramethoxyphenanthrene-9-carboxylic acid) with different transition metals at a suitable temperature. Single-crystal determinations revealed that 1 and 2 are isostructural and possess a dinuclear subunit, each connected into 3D networks by hydrogen bonds and C-H...pi interactions. 3 and 4 are also isostructural: the metal ions are bridged through water molecules and carboxylate oxygen atoms to form 1D wavelike double chains, and these double chains are further extended to a 3D network via hydrogen bonds and C-H...pi interactions. The photoluminescent properties of the free Htmopa ligand and its complexes have been studied in the solid state at room temperature. Both Htmopa and 1 exhibit strong blue emissions. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that 2 and 3 exhibit antiferromagnetic coupling, whereas 4 shows a ferromagnetic coupling and exhibits a single-ion behavior of the Co II ion at a higher temperature range. 相似文献

Three new heterometallic 1D coordination polymers [FeIII2Pr(4-Me-sal)4(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)6](NO3) · 2MeOH · 1.5H2O (1), [FeIII2Gd(4-Me-sal)4(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)5]Cl1/2(NO3)1/2 · 5H2O (2) and [FeIII2Dy(4-Me-sal)4(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)5]Cl1/2(NO3)1/2 · 5H2O (3) have been synthesized. 1 and 2 were characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography, and 3 was shown to be isomorphous to 2 by X-ray powder diffraction. Magnetic studies show that the three compounds show a similar temperature dependence of their magnetic susceptibilities over the range 1.8–300 K. The observed decrease of χT with decreasing temperature for all three compounds could be the result of antiferromagnetic interactions between Fe–Ln centres and/or the depopulation of the Stark sublevels in the case of the anisotropic Ln ions (PrIII and DyIII). 相似文献

Two new cyano-bridged one-dimensional heterobimetallic coordination polymers, [(bpca)(2)Fe(III)(2)(CN)(6)Cu(H(2)O)(2).1.5H(2)O](n)() (2) and [(bpca)Fe(III)(CN)(3)Cu(bpca)(H(2)O).H(2)O](n)() (3), and a trinuclear complex, [(bpca)(2)Fe(III)(2)(CN)(6)Mn(CH(3)OH)(2)(H(2)O)(2)].2H(2)O (4), have been synthesized using the tailored tricyanometalate precursor (Bu(4)N)[Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)].H(2)O (1) (Bu(4)N(+) = tetrabutylammonium cation; bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate anion) as a building block and structurally characterized. In complex 2, the Cu(II) ions are six-coordinated in an elongated distorted octahedral environment, and they are linked by distorted octahedrons of [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)](-) to form 1D chain of squares. Complex 3 is an unexpected chiral heterobimetallic helical chain complex, in which the helical chain consists of the asymmetric unit of [(bpca)Fe(CN)(3)Cu(bpca)(H(2)O)]. In complex 4, there are two independent trinuclear clusters in one asymmetric unit, and the coordination modes of the two methanol and two water molecules coordinating to the central Mn(II) ion are different (cis and trans). Complex 2 shows metamagnetic behavior with a Neel temperature of T(N) = 2.2 K and a critical field of 250 Oe at 1.8 K, where the cyanides mediate the intrachain ferromagnetic coupling between the Cu(II) and Fe(III) ions. Complex 3 shows ferromagnetic coupling between Cu(II) and Fe(III) ions, the best-fit for chi(M)T versus T using a 1D alternating chain model leads to the parameters J(1) = 7.9(3) cm(-)(1), J(2) = 1.03(2) cm(-)(1), and g = 2.196(3). Complex 4 exhibits ferrimagnetic behavior caused by the noncompensation of the local interacting spins (S(Mn) = 5/2 and S(Fe) = 1/2) which interact antiferromagnetically through bridging cyano groups. 相似文献

A series of m-ferrocenylbenzoate [m-ferrocenylbenzoate = m-NaOOCH4C6Fc, Fc = (η5-C5H5)Fe(η5-C5H4)] lanthanide coordination polymers, namely [Ln(μ2-OOCH4C6Fc)(η2-OOCH4C6Fc)(μ2-η2-OOCH4C6Fc)(CH3OH)2]n [Ln = La (1), Pr (2), Nd (3), Sm (4) and Gd (5)], have been synthesized by reactions of m-ferrocenylbenzoate with Ln(NO3)3·nH2O. X-ray crystallographic analyses reveal that 1, 2 and 5 are essentially isostructural with unique one-dimensional linear chain structure. Three types of coordination modes for m-ferrocenylbenzoate are observed in the unit structure which consists of the eight-membered metallacycle Ln2(COO)2 and the rhomboid Ln2O2. Electrochemical studies indicate that 1-5 exhibit a reversible redox wave of FeII/FeIII and the half-wave potentials of 1-5 are slightly more positive than that of m-ferrocenylbenzoic acid. Magnetic investigations show that an antiferromagnetic interaction between Gd(III) ions exists in 5. 相似文献

The reactions of the ligands N-methyldiethanol amine and N-ethyldiethanol amine (abbreviated H(2)mdea and H(2)edea, respectively) with [Mn(12)O(12)(O(2)CCH(3))(16)(H(2)O)(4)] yield novel dodecanuclear wheel-shaped products. The capability of the ligands H(2)mdea and H(2)edea to support wheel structures in metals other than Mn is demonstrated with the crystal structure of a new hexanuclear ferric wheel. 相似文献

Five new coordination compounds, {[Mn(L)(CH3OH)2] · CH3OH · H2O} n (1), {[Cd(L)(DMF)2(H2O)] · H2O} n (2), {[Co(L)(CH3OH)4] · CH3OH}2 (3), {[Cd(L)(phen)(CH3OH)] · CH3OH} n (4), and {[Mn(L)(phen)(H2O)] · CH3OH} n (5) (L = 5-ferrocene-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) were obtained from different metal salts and L with or without 1,10-phen under mild conditions. Complex 1 is a 1-D ladder-like chain composed of 8-membered rings A and 16-membered rings B, which arrange alternately. Complex 2 is an infinite linear chain, further bridged to form a parallel double chain through different hydrogen-bond interactions. Complex 3 is a discrete dinuclear structure, while 4 is a neutral 1-D infinite zigzag coordination chain. Complex 5 is a 1-D linear chain with phen and ferrocene groups of L as pendants hanging on the different sides of the main chain. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibilities of 1 were measured and weak antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the neighboring Mn(II) ions were found with J = ?0.95 cm?1. 相似文献

Three complexes with the formula [Co(Ip)(CuL)(H2O)2] · H2O (I), [Co(Ip)(NiL)(H2O)2] · H2O (II), [Co(CuL)2(Hbtc)(H2O)] (III), (H2Ip = m-isophthalic acid; H2L = 2,3-dioxo-5,6,14,15-dibenzo-1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclo-pentadeca-7,13-dien; H3Btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) were synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR and UV spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray analyses reveal that the complexes I and II contain neutral heterometallic binuclear CoM (for I and II, M = Cu, Ni, respectively) moieties, and complex III contains discrete neutral trinuclear CoCu2 moieties. The structures of I–III consist of two-dimensional supramolecular architecture formed by strong O-H…O intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, the magnetic properties of complex I were investigated and discussed in detail. 相似文献

Four mixed-valent ruthenium diphosphonates, namely, Na(4)[Ru(2)(hedp)(2)X]x16H(2)O [X = Cl (1), Br (2)], K(3)[Ru(2)(hedp)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]x6H(2)O (3), and Na(7)[Ru(2)(hedp)(2)Fe(CN)(6)]x24H(2)O (4), where hedp represents 1-hydroxyethylidenediphosphonate [CH(3)C(OH)(PO(3))(2)](4-), were synthesized and structurally characterized. Compounds 1, 2, and 4 show linear chain structures in which the mixed-valent [Ru(2)(hedp)(2)](3-) dimers are linked by X(-) or [Fe(CN)(6)](4-) bridges. Compound 3 contains discrete species of [Ru(2)(hedp)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](3-) where the axial positions of [Ru(2)(hedp)(2)](3-) paddlewheel are terminated by water molecules. Magnetic studies show that significant antiferromagnetic exchanges are mediated between the [Ru(2)(hedp)(2)](3-) (S = 3/2) units through halide bridges in compounds 1 and 2. 相似文献

Black prisms of Np(3)Q(5) (Q = S, Se) have been synthesized by the stoichiometric reactions between Np and Q at 1173 K in a CsCl flux. The structures of these compounds were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The Np(3)Q(5) compounds are isostructural with U(3)Q(5). The structure of Np(3)Q(5) is constructed from layers of Np(1)Q(8) distorted bicapped trigonal prisms that share faces with each other on bc planes. Each Np(1)Q(8) layer further shares Q(2) edges with two adjacent identical neighbors to form a three-dimensional framework. The space inside each channel within this framework is filled by one single edge-sharing Np(2)Q(7) distorted 7-octahedron chain running along the b axis. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that Np(3)S(5) and Np(3)Se(5) have antiferromagnetic orderings at 35(1) and 36(1) K, respectively. Above the magnetic ordering temperatures, both Np(3)S(5) and Np(3)Se(5) behave as typical Curie-Weiss paramagnets. The effective moments obtained from the fit of the magnetic data to a modified Curie-Weiss law over the temperature range 70 to 300 K are 2.7(2) μ(B) (Np(3)S(5)) and 2.9(2) μ(B) (Np(3)Se(5)). 相似文献

Five novel lanthanide complexes with the formulas [Nd(bta)(H2O)2.4.35H2O]n(1), [Sm(bta)(H2O)2.4.5H2O]n (2), [Eu(bta)(H2O).1.48H2O]n (3), [Tb(bta)(H2O).1.31H2O]n (4), and [Yb(bta)(H2O).H2O]n (5) (H3bta = 1,3,5-benzenetriacetic acid) have been prepared by using the corresponding lanthanide salt and H3bta. The results of an X-ray crystallographic analysis revealed that all the complexes have three-dimensional channel-like structures, in which the bta3- ligands adopt different coordination modes: monodentate and mu2-eta2:eta1-bridging coordination modes in 1, 2, and 5 and mu2-eta1:eta1-bridging and mu2-eta2:eta1-bridging coordination modes in 3 and 4, respectively. Complexes 1 and 2, as well as 3 and 4, are isostructural, respectively, in which all the Ln(III) (Ln = Nd, Sm, Eu, and Tb) atoms are nine-coordinated, while the Yb(III) atoms in complex 5 are eight-coordinated. Both complexes 3 and 4 showed strong luminescence upon excitation, and their luminescence decay curves fit well with single exponential decays of which the lifetime is 0.45 ms for 3 and 1.0 ms for 4. The magnetic properties of the complexes were investigated in the temperature range of 1.8-300 K. 相似文献
