We prove a monotonicity formula and an \(\varepsilon \) -regularity theorem for stable solutions to a class of weighted supercritical semilinear elliptic equations. We then use them to study the behavior of finite Morse index solutions and obtain some sharp results, which improve those of Dancer et al. (J Differ Equ 250:3281–3310, 2011) and Du and Guo (Adv Differ Eqns 2013) and completely answer the questions left open there.  相似文献

In this paper we prove Morse type inequalities for the contractible 1-periodic solutions of time dependent Hamiltonian differential equations on those compact symplectic manifolds M for which the symplectic form and the first Chern class of the tangent bundle vanish over π2 (M). The proof is based on a version of infinite dimensional Morse theory which is due to Floer. The key point is an index theorem for the Fredholm operator which plays a central role in Floer homology. The index formula involves the Maslov index of nondegenerate contractible periodic solutions. This Maslov index plays the same role as the Morse index of a nondegenerate critical point does in finite dimensional Morse theory. We shall use this connection between Floer homology and Maslov index to establish the existence of infinitely many periodic solutions having integer periods provided that every 1-periodic solution has at least one Floquet multiplier which is not equal to 1.  相似文献

In this paper, we study some quantitative properties of positive solutions to a singular elliptic equation with negative power on the bounded smooth domain or in the whole Euclidean space. Our model arises in the study of the steady states of thin films and other applied physics as well as differential geometry. We can get some useful local gradient estimate and L1 lower bound for positive solutions of the elliptic equation. A uniform positive lower bound for convex positive solutions is also obtained. We show that in lower dimensions, there is no stable positive solutions in the whole space. In the whole space of dimension two, we can show that there is no positive smooth solution with finite Morse index. Symmetry properties of related integral equations are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove even symmetry and monotonicity of certain solutions of Allen–Cahn equation in a half plane. We also show that entire solutions with finite Morse index and four ends must be evenly symmetric with respect to two orthogonal axes. A classification scheme of general entire solutions with finite Morse index is also presented using energy quantization.  相似文献

We develop index theories for linear selfadjoint operator equations and investigate multiple solutions for asymptotically linear operator equations. In this paper, we study the qualitative properties and classification of the solutions to the elliptic equations with Stein-Weiss type convolution part. Firstly, we study the qualitative properties, such as the symmetry, regularity and asymptotic behavior of the positive solutions. Secondly, we classify the non-positive solutions by proving some Liouville type theorems for the finite Morse index solutions and stable solutions to the nonlocal elliptic equations with double weights.

In this paper, we consider the problem of existence as well as multiplicity results for a bi-harmonic equation under the Navier boundary conditions: △2 u = K(x)u p , u > 0 in Ω , △u = u = 0 on Ω , where Ω is a smooth domain in R n , n 5, and p + 1 = 2 n n 4 is the critical Sobolev exponent. We obtain highlightly a new criterion of existence, which provides existence results for a dense subset of positive functions, and generalizes Bahri-Coron type criterion in dimension six. Our argument gives also estimates on the Morse index of the obtained solutions and extends some known results. Moreover, it provides, for generic K, Morse inequalities at infinity, which delivers lower bounds for the number of solutions. As further applications of this Morse theoretical approach, we prove more existence results.  相似文献

We prove that finite Morse index solutions to the Allen-Cahn equation in ℝ2 have finitely many ends and linear energy growth. The main tool is a curvature decay estimate on level sets of these finite Morse index solutions, which in turn is reduced to a problem on the uniform second-order regularity of clustering interfaces for the singularly perturbed Allen-Cahn equation. Using an indirect blowup technique, in the spirit of the classical Colding-Minicozzi theory in minimal surfaces, we show that the obstruction to the uniform second-order regularity of clustering interfaces in ℝn is associated to the existence of nontrivial entire solutions to a (finite or infinite) Toda system in ℝn–1. For finite Morse index solutions in ℝ2, we show that this obstruction does not exist by using information on stable solutions of the Toda system. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Asymptotics of solutions to fractional elliptic equations with Hardy type potentials is studied in this paper. By using an Almgren type monotonicity formula, separation of variables, and blow-up arguments, we describe the exact behavior near the singularity of solutions to linear and semilinear fractional elliptic equations with a homogeneous singular potential related to the fractional Hardy inequality. As a consequence we obtain unique continuation properties for fractional elliptic equations.  相似文献

This paper concerns a finite difference approximation of the discrete ordinate equations for the time-dependent linear transport equation posed in a multi-dimensional rectangular parallelepiped with partially reflecting walls. We present an unconditionally stable alternating direction implicit finite difference scheme, show how to solve the difference equations, and establish the following properties of the scheme.If a sequence of difference approximations is considered in which the time and space increments approach zero, then the corresponding sequence of solutions has a subsequence which converges continuously to a strong solution of the discrete ordinate equations. Provided that the time increment is sufficiently small, independently of the space and velocity increment sizes: the solution of the difference equations is bounded by an exponential function of time; in the subcritical case the coefficient of t in this exponential bound is zero or negative; and if the constituent functions are all nonnegative, then the solution of the difference equations will also be nonnegative. This last result implies a monotonicity principle for solutions of related difference problems.  相似文献

This article deals with the degenerate parabolic equations in exterior domains and with inhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. We obtain that pc = (σ+m)n/(n-σ-2) is its critical exponent provided max{-1, [(1-m)n-2]/(n+1)} σ n-2. This critical exponent is not the same as that for the corresponding equations with the boundary value 0, but is more closely tied to the critical exponent of the elliptic type degenerate equations. Furthermore, we demonstrate that if max{1, σ + m} p ≤ pc, then every positive solution of the equations blows up in finite time; whereas for ppc, the equations admit global positive solutions for some boundary values and initial data. Meantime, we also demonstrate that its positive solutions blow up in finite time provided n ≤σ+2.  相似文献

We study the existence of traveling wave solutions for a nonlocal and non-monotone delayed reaction-diffusion equation. Based on the construction of two associated auxiliary reaction diffusion equations with monotonicity and by using the traveling wavefronts of the auxiliary equations, the existence of the positive traveling wave solutions for c 〉 c. is obtained. Also, the exponential asymptotic behavior in the negative infinity was established. Moreover, we apply our results to some reactiondiffusion equations with spatio-temporal delay to obtain the existence of traveling waves. These results cover, complement and/or improve some existing ones in the literature.  相似文献

The problem of existence of solutions to p-adic semilinear heat equations with particular nonlinear terms has already been studied in the literature but the occurrence of blow-up phenomena has not been considered yet. We initiate the study of finite time blow-up for solutions of this kind of p-adic semilinear equations, proving that this phenomenon always arises under appropriate assumptions in the case when the exponent of nonlinearity times the dimension is strictly less than the order of the operator.  相似文献
