By combining speckle interferometry (SI) measurements with speckle photography, the fringe visibility can be kept high despite the presence of a large bulk or rotating motion of the object. This combined technique improves the usability and measuring range of both pulsed and phase-stepped SI-methods. This paper reviews the theory of fringe formation in SI and shows some recent applications of this combined technique.  相似文献

Based on imitative experiment of structure mechanics,four-aperture defocusedspeckle shearing interferometry is used to obtain the distribution of strain field of the geologicstructure model of the Jiulong mountain in Sichuan Basin. And through the analysis of the ex-perimental data,we can give some experdriental basis for recognizing the distribution of thegeologic fracture in the district of the Jiulong Mountain. Exploration practice shows that fracture distribution predicted by theory agrees with actu-al situation.  相似文献

Improvements of a method for measurement of continuous displacements and deformations with digital phase shifting speckle pattern interferometry are presented. The method is based on an algorithm that, with the knowledge of the initial phase, only needs one image at a time to evaluate continuos phase changes due to object deformations. In the improved method, the initial random phase of the speckle pattern is evaluated using a number of phase-shifted images before the deformation under study. This is used for increasing the accuracy of the initial phase estimation and reducing influences from image noise and other measurement disturbances. The phase-shifted speckle patterns are used as references for comparison with the speckle patterns of the deformed object, thereby increasing the reliability and accuracy of the phase estimations of the deformed patterns. The technique can be used for measuring deformations such as transients and other dynamic events, heat expansion as well as other phenomena where it is difficult to accomplish phase shifting during deformation.  相似文献

The influence of in-plane displacement and strain components on slope (first-order derivative of out-of-plane displacement component) fringe distributions in double-aperture speckle wedge-shearing interferometry is discussed in detail. The research results show that only the in-plane displacement component parallel to the centre line of double apertures has an influence on the slope fringe distributions. It is also shown that the in-plane strain components have no influence on the slope fringe distributions when utilising normal illumination and an axisymmetric system. A theoretical analysis and an experimental demonstration are given. The experimental results are in good agreement with the quantitative analysis.  相似文献

Two-frequency interferometry for small displacement measurements is examined from a practical point of view. A laser beam that is modulated sinusoidally in intensity by an acousto-optic Bragg cell provides signal and reference optical waves to produce dynamic interference. The output signal of a photodetector receiving the interference is composed of optical homodyne and heterodyne components. The heterodyne component carries a vibrational displacement to be detected on its amplitude. A sinusoidal vibration amplitude is measured down to 0.5 nm.  相似文献

If a laser beam illuminates a continual deformation object surface, it will lead to a temporal speckle pattern on the observation plane. Recording this time-dependent speckle pattern the deformation of the surface of an object can be obtained. Two methods, scanning phase method (SPM) and time sequence phase method (TSPM), have been introduced for measuring the displacement caused by the deformation in temporal speckle pattern interferometry (TSPI). Their principle is that by capturing a series of speckle interference patterns related to the object deformations, the fluctuations in the intensity of the interference patterns can be obtained. Through scanning these fluctuations and estimating both the average intensity and modulation of the temporal speckle interference patterns, the phase maps for whole-field displacements are calculated. In this way one is capable of quantitatively measuring continual displacements simply using a conventional electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) system without phase shifting or a carrier. The elaboration on the new methods is given in this paper and experiments are performed to demonstrate their performance with a conventional ESPI system.

Industrial operators have been taking interest in optical diagnostics through years. Optical methods are mainly well appreciated for their attitude to be used as non-contact and non-invasive techniques. The paper presents three examples of applications carried-out by researchers of Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano (CESI) in collaboration with people working in industrial fields. The first part shows the applications of speckle interferometry to measure residual stresses in association with the traditional blind-hole drilling, while the second part presents the installation of fibre optic sensors in a power plant for monitoring possible overheating to avoid fires and finally the last presentation outlines a particular application in the field of laser generated ultrasounds that is the monitoring of the variation of ultrasonic speed propagation due to residual stresses.  相似文献

The importance of technological processes like corrosion, ablation or deposition causes interest in the quantitative monitoring of changes at rough surfaces. Thus, there is a need for effective methods to measure the statistical parameters characterizing changes in the profile or the material composition of such objects. The speckle field scattered from the surface is used as information carrier and its change is measured by correlation. This is realized by sophisticated data acquisition and digital processing techniques. An important issue is the interpretation of the correlation output in terms of statistical parameters describing the surface change. For many random surfaces a geometrical relation between surface profile and optical phase proves satisfactory. This allows to determine the standard deviation of the profile change. For a verification, speckle decorrelation in model surfaces of known deviation is measured. The paper introduces the speckle correlation concept, outlines some history and current setups and describes methods for data evaluation. The reliability of the quantitative interpretation of the speckle decorrelation is demonstrated. The method is illustrated by studies of metal corrosion and material removal in the cleaning of historical objects by laser ablation.  相似文献

Optical schemes for measuring surface inclination due to shift or deformation are considered. Speckle-interferometry methods are used. The distinguished features of these schemes are connected with using a digital photocamera and a forming speckle structure in nonmonochromatic light. Several technical solutions are proposed making it possibile to measure inclination with an accuracy up to tenths of degree using standard cheap equipment. To form the speckle structure, the pattern of a random binary structure with unit size of several millimeters is used in the base fixed plane. The digital camera was placed in the analyzed plane and turned together with the plane. It registered a reduced image of the pattern. The registration was done for two positions of the surface, the pattern being illuminated by the camera flash lamp. Measuring the width and orientation of the interference fringes formed for the two speckle structures allows one to determine the inclination and orientation of the rotation axis.  相似文献

An optical system for lensless Fourier transformed holographic interferometry is constructed to enable the measurement of minute displacements from nanometers to micrometers scale and to obtain corresponding strain distributions using a CCD camera with poor spatial resolution. Since a Fourier spectrum of an object beam is recorded on a hologram in this technique, the image reconstruction is easily performed with a single pass of 2-D fast Fourier transformation. Then, the map of the phase difference over the whole field is obtained by comparing two images before and after deformation. A suitable and effective unwrapping process is, however, inevitably required since the phase difference distribution is wrapped from −π to π in this technique. For phase unwrapping, the maximum spanning tree method is adopted here, which seeks a spanning tree that maximizes overall edge weights given by the cross amplitude. In-plane and out-of-plane displacements are obtained separately from the phase difference distributions at one's request. Moreover, in-plain strain is easily calculated from the in-plane displacement distribution.  相似文献

The out-of-plane displacement field of a bent plate can be quantitatively measured using volume-grating phase-shifting digital speckle pattern interferometry proposed in this paper.
