A new oligomeric calix[4]arene‐thiacrown‐4 ( 5 ) was synthesized via a condensation reaction of 5,11,17,23‐tetra‐tert‐butyl‐25,27‐bis‐(4‐aminobenzyloxy)‐calix[4]arene‐thiacrown‐4 ( 4 ) with adipoyl dichloride. In this oligomerization reaction only five/six calix[4]arene‐thiacrown‐4 units were linked in the oligomeric chain. The complexation studies of 5 were made with liquid–liquid‐ extraction and solid–liquid‐sorption procedures. For comparison, the extraction efficiencies of monomers 1 , 3 , and 4 to selected transition metals are reported. The selectivity of monomers 3 and 4 toward Cu2+, Hg2+, and Pb2+ was lost after oligomerization in the two‐phase extraction systems. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Upper rim-functionalized, di-ionizable calix[4]arene-crown-6 ligands are synthesized and compared with structural isomers having the two acidic side arms attached to the lower rim. Solvent extractions of selected divalent metal cations (alkaline earth metal cations, Pb2+, and Hg2+) from aqueous solutions into chloroform by the upper and lower rim-functionalized, di-ionizable calix[4]arene-crown-6 isomers are utilized to assess the effects of this structural modification on metal ion complexation abilities of the ligands. The observed effects are compared with those reported for analogous di-ionizable calix[4]arene-crown-5 structural isomers.  相似文献

The present study describes the preparation of a new calix[4]arene-based sporopollenin material and its application for the removal of Na2Cr2O7 from aqueous solution. The novel calix[4]arene-based sporopollenin material was prepared via the immobilization of dihydrazine amide derivative of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene (3) onto the modified sporopollenin. The newly prepared calix[4]arene-based sporopollenin is characterized by using different analytical techniques such as FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope and Elemental analysis. The batch wise sorption study was carried out to optimize various experimental parameters such as the effect of sorbent dosage, pH, temperature and Cr(VI) anion concentration. It has been found that the sorption of Cr(VI) anion on calix[4]arene-based sporopollenin was highly pH dependent and maximum sorption was achieved at pH 1.5. The sorption behavior was also evaluated by Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin Radushkevich isotherms. The value of correlation coefficient (R 2) showed a good agreement with Freundlich isotherm model. Result of study demonstrated that calix[4]arene-based sporopollenin proved to be highly effective for the removal of Cr(VI).  相似文献

Lanthanide complexes have been developed and are reported herein. These complexes were derived from a terpyridine-functionalized calix[4]arene ligand, chelated with Tb3+ and Eu3+. Synthesis of these complexes was achieved in two steps from a calix[4]arene derivative: (1) amide coupling of a calix[4]arene bearing carboxylic acid functionalities and (2) metallation with a lanthanide triflate salt. The ligand and its complexes were characterized by NMR (1H and 13C), fluorescence and UV-vis spectroscopy as well as MS. The photophysical properties of these complexes were studied; high molar absorptivity values, modest quantum yields and luminescence lifetimes on the ms timescale were obtained. Anion binding results in a change in the photophysical properties of the complexes. The anion sensing ability of the Tb(III) complex was evaluated via visual detection, UV-vis and fluorescence studies. The sensor was found to be responsive towards a variety of anions, and large binding constants were obtained for the coordination of anions to the sensor.  相似文献

The selective behavior of calix[n]arene ester derivatives in two-phase extraction systems using polarographic technique has been investigated. Calix[4]arene tetraester derivative shows remarkable Na+ over Pb2+ selectivity; whereas calix[6]arene hexaester derivative shows Pb2+ over Na+ selectivity. The interference of some selected cations (Na+, K+, Cu2+ and Mg2+) were also examined and no significant effect on the selectivity behavior as well as extraction ability of these ionophores was found except Na+. The study reveals for the first time that the calix[6]arene hexaester derivative is highly Pb2+ selective ionophore and can be employed in the field of sensor as well as separation science and technology. The work also highlights the usefulness of polarographic technique in trace metal determination.  相似文献

Sorption of TcVII from solutions of various compositions with new sorbents prepared by the noncovalent immobilization of (thia)calix[4]arenes on the Amberlite XAD-7™ support was studied. The sorbents studied efficiently extract technetium(vii) from both acidic and alkaline media. The sorption capacity of the sorbent with thiacalix[4]arene groups is superior to that of the sorbents with calix[4]arene groups and several times higher than that of the sorbents previously proposed for the sorption of TcVII. Technetium(vii) is sorbed by this sorbent as 1: 1 and 1: 2 thiacalix[4]arene—NH4TcO4 and 1: 1 and 1: 2 thiacalix[4]arene—NaTcO4 complexes.  相似文献

New podands based on the p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene unit with substitution at the lower rim incorporating imine units, have been synthesized in high yield by simple condensation method. These podands have been shown to extract and transport Ag+ selectively over alkali, alkaline earth metal cations, Zn2+, Pb2+ and Hg2+ ions, from neutral aqueous phase to organic phase. In all the ligands the calix unit has been found to be present in a cone conformation except for the one having pyridine as end group, at the ortho position. It has been isolated in two conformations; cone and 1,2-alternate. To the best of our knowledge, this may be the first 1,3-lower rim substituted calix[4]arene to exist in a 1,2-alternate conformation and is among a few known compounds with this conformation in the general class of calix[4]arenes. A complex of this ligand, which happens to be the highest extractant of Ag+ has been isolated and characterized using mass, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy's and elemental analysis. The spectroscopic evidence and molecular modelling studies performed on the complex suggest a participation of the imine and pyridine nitrogens and two of the ether oxygens in coordination to the metal ion. The X-ray crystal structures of three of the ligands establish the formation of inclusion complexes with polar acetonitrile solvent molecules. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of all the compounds, taken in CDCl3, show the presence of acetonitrile molecules in the cavity of the calix[4]arene, indicating inclusion of the neutral guest molecules in the solution phase as well. For one of the podands X-ray crystal structure has shown a formation of clatharate complex of chloroform with the ligand which has rarely been found in the case of calix[4]arenes.  相似文献

Two sets of functionalised calix[4]arenes, either with a 1,3-crown ether bridge or with an open-chain oligo ether moiety in 1,3-position were prepared and further equipped with additional deprotonisable sulfonamide groups to establish chelating systems for selected cations Sr2+, Ba2+, and Pb2+ ions. To improve the complexation behaviour towards these cations, calix[4]arenes with oligo ether groups and modified crowns of different sizes were synthesized. Association constants were determined by UV/Vis titration in acetonitrile using the respective perchlorate salts and logK values between 3.2 and 8.0 were obtained. These findings were supported by the calculation of the binding energies exemplarily for selected complexes with Ba2+.  相似文献

通过对杯[4]芳烃以及杯[6]芳烃上缘进行烯丙基化和硅氢加成2步衍生化反应得到硅氢化杯[4]芳烃以及硅氢化杯[6]芳烃,再将这2种硅氢化杯芳烃衍生物分别接枝到超细SiO2上。在不同的pH值条件下,就2种杯芳烃接枝超细SiO2衍生物对水合Cu2+及Ag+的萃取性能进行了研究。结果表明,与对叔丁基杯芳烃相比较,杯芳烃接枝超细SiO2衍生物对Cu2+和Ag+的萃取率都有所提高,其中杯[4]芳烃接枝超细SiO2对Ag+的最高萃取率达到98.78%,杯[6]芳烃接枝超细SiO2对Cu2+的最高萃取率达到67.74%。  相似文献

Summary The extractive properties of 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(diphenylphosphinoylmethoxy)calix[4]arene towards thorium(IV) and europium(III) ions are studied. The conventional log-log analysis of the extraction data reveals that the stoichiometry of the extracted species is 1 : 1 metal ion to ligand ratio for the two metals. The effects of ligand concentration, types of diluent and concentration of the salting-out agents are investigated and discussed. The selectivity of the ligand for thorium and europium ions versus Mn2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, Fe2+, Ni2+ and Co2+ is examined.  相似文献

Three new calix[4]arene-based carboxylate ligands with an appended allyl function have been synthesized, chemically immobilized onto a controlled-pore glass (CPG), and the extracting ability of selected materials towards Sr2+ in solid-liquid extraction was examined. The calixarenes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and where appropriate by X-ray crystallography. Four functionalized CPGs were prepared by radical thiol addition of the corresponding 5-allylcalix[4]arenes to γ-mercaptopropyl-modified CPG. Analysis by 13C and 29Si cross polarization/magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) NMR spectroscopy clearly showed the covalent fixation of the calix[4]arenes to CPG. The calix[4]arene phases were found to be stable up to 200 °C by simultaneous thermal analysis (STA). The extraction performance of the modified CPGs towards Sr2+ were found to be superior over the unmodified CPGs as demonstrated by radiotracing using the short-lived radio nuclide 85Sr.  相似文献

The Sr2+ extraction properties of some 25,27-bis(carbonylmethoxy)calix[4]arenes, in which ester (–CH2CO2Et), keto (–CH2COCH3) and acid functionalities (–CH2CO2H) have been attached to the lower rim, are reported. Strontium ion extraction experiments were performed in a chloroform/water system, and the extraction performance analyzed by radiotracing using the short-lived radio nuclide 85Sr. Effects of pH value, ligand to metal ratio, temperature, extraction time and strontium species on the extraction behavior were examined. It was observed that the 25,27-bis(carboxymethoxy)calix[4]arene derivatives are potent extracting agents towards the strontium ion, showing remarkable extraction performance in competition with a series of organic and inorganic impurities and in a synthetic groundwater. The crystal structure of 25,27-bis(acetonyloxy)calix[4]arene is also reported.  相似文献

Tetrakis-p-bromomethylcalix[4]arene(1) reacts with hexamethylenetetramine to givetetrakis-p-formylcalix[4]arene (2) in highyield. Then upper rim Schiff base calix[4]arenes 3 can be easily synthesized by 2 reacting withappropriate alkylamines. The synergistic solvent extraction of five selected lanthanoid ions (La3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, Ho3+ and Lu3+) with 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(2-thienyl)-1,3-butanedione (HL) and 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis-(dimethylphosphinoylmethoxy)calix[4]arene, (S) in CHCl3 has been studied. It was found that in presence of this phosphorus-containing calix[4]arene the lanthanoid ions have been extracted as [LnL3S2]. The values of the equilibrium constants and the separation factor have been calculated. The influence of the synergistic agent on the extraction process has been discussed.  相似文献

Novel macrocyclic monooxa-diselkylene-1,ω-dioxy substituted calix[4]arene derivatives 1a-5a were synthesized by the reaction of calix[4]arene dibromides 1-5 with the disodium salt of bis(2-selenylethyl)ether in the yields between 28% and 64%. Their structures were characterized by proton and carbon NMR spectra. X-Ray structure analysis of la further confirmed the cone conformation of compounds 1a-5a. An interesting host-guest complex of la with dichloromethane via CH/π and C1/π interactions was elucidated. Extraction experiments showed that these novel monooxa-diselkylene-1,ω-dioxy substituted calix[4]arene derivatives 1a-5a had strong extraction ability towards mercury ion. The interaction of Hg^2+with the calix ligand has also been investigated by 1^H NMR titration.  相似文献

A series of new calix[4]arene(amido)mono-crown compounds have been synthesized through aminolysis of calix[4]arene esters and intramolecular cyclization of the intermediates. The title compounds were converted into their nitro and azo substituted derivatives to provide novel photoresponsive molecular receptors for transition metal ions. Single crystal X-ray analysis of calix[4]arene(ethyleneamido)mono-crown (2a) revealed that the compound is present in a cone conformation with an amido loop that caps the lower rim of calix[4]arene cavity to result in stacking along axis a and axis c to provide supramolecular aggregates in the solid state. Evaluation of synthesized macrocycles in the solution phase for recognition of transition metal cations (Cr3+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Ag+, Cd2+, Pb2+, Hg+, Hg2+, Pd2+, and Pt2+) by UV-visible spectroscopy revealed that p-tert-butyl-calix[4]arene mono-(amidocrown) 1c selectively shows a blue shift at 38 nm on interaction with Hg+ ions.  相似文献

Novel polyamides bearing calix[4]arene and triazole units, polytriazolecalixamides (PTCAs), were prepared by direct polycondensation of a new bistriazole substituted dicarboxylic acid derivative of calix[4]arene with commercial diamines. The polytriazolecalixamides were obtained in high yields and possessed inherent viscosities in the range of 0.42–0.59 dl/g. These polytriazolecalixamides were readily soluble in polar aprotic solvents such as NMP, DMSO, DMAc at room temperature and in THF by heating. Nanocrystalline structures were determined by XRD patterns and confirmed by DSC as well as TEM and AFM imaging techniques. The photophysical study was performed by UV-absorption spectroscopy and maximum wavelength for each polymer specified in details. Glass transition temperatures were between 134 and 154°C. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that these polyamides displayed high thermal stability ranged from 273 to 312°C at the point of 10% weight loss, and char yields were about 51.4–67.4% at 600°C in nitrogen. All of these nanocrystalline polycalixamides showed promising sorption properties towards transition metal ions such as Cu2+, Cr2+, Co2+, Cd2+ and especially Pb2+ in solid-liquid extraction which fulfill our needs in synthesizing novel high performance polyamides.  相似文献

Four cone calix[4]arene-1,2-crown ethers each with two ionisable side arms containing dansyl groups are synthesised. The crown ether ring on the lower rim is varied from crown-4 to crown-5 with hydrogen or tert-butyl groups on the para position of the upper rim. Di(tetramethylammonium) salts of the di-ionised ligands are utilised for spectrofluorimetric titration experiments in MeCN. The influence of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and selected transition and heavy metal (Co2+, Fe2+, Hg2+, Mn2+, Pb2+, Zn2+ and Fe3+) cations on the spectroscopic properties of the two dansyl groups linked to the lower rim of the conformationally locked, di-ionised calix[4]arene-1,2-crown ether frameworks is investigated by emission spectrophotometry. All of the metal cations induce red shifts in the emission spectra of the di-ionised ligands. The metal cations produce enhancement or quenching of the fluorescence emissions. Changes in the fluorescence emission as a function of the metal cation identity, the lower rim crown ether ring size and the absence or presence of upper rim tert-butyl groups are investigated.  相似文献

This article describes the synthesis and characterization of two new calix[4]arene Schiff bases and their polymeric resins. The extraction properties of these “proton switchable extractants” with alkali, transition, post transition metal cations and for dichromate anions are reported. The two new calix[4]arene based Schiff bases (5 and 6) have been synthesized from 5,17‐diformyl‐25,27‐dipropoxy‐26,28‐dihydroxycalix[4]arene (4) by treatment with 3‐amino‐methylpyridine and 1,8‐diaminooctane in two separate reaction flasks following the same procedure. Compounds 5 and 6 have been appended to a polymeric resin by treatment with Merrifield resin through a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The receptor compounds (3 and 58) do not extract alkali metal cations, but show some selectivity toward transition metal cations, and a particularly high selectivity to Hg2+ and Pb2+. The protonated forms of all of the calixarene‐based receptors are good extractants for transferring Cr2O7 2?/HCr2O7 ? anions from an aqueous into a dichloromethane layer.  相似文献

A novel calix[4]arene derivative with two ferrocenyl Schiff-base groups at the upper rim 3 has been synthesized from 5,17-diformyl-25,27-dipropoxy-26,28-dihydroxy calix[4]arene and 4-ferrocenylaniline via condensation reaction. Reduction of 3 with sodium borohydride led to calix[4]arene derivative 4 with two amino ferrocenyl groups at the upper rim. The ferrocenyl Schiff-base calix[4]arene and its corresponding reduced amine have been purified and characterized by elemental analysis,1H NMR, FTIR, Mass and UV-vis spectral data. Electrochemical properties of compounds 3 and 4 have been investigated. Cyclic voltammograms of 3 and 4 show reversible redox couples of ferrocene/ferrocinium at E1/2=0.401 V and 0.346 V, respectively. Electrochemical studies show these redox active compounds electrochemically recognize trivalent lanthanides La3+ and Ce3+ and divalent Pb2+ and Cu2+cations. With ferrocenyl Schiff-base calix[4]arene 3 an anodic shift as large as 130 mV is observed on addition of one equivalent of Ce3+ ion. Also extraction properties of compound 4 towards some metal cations have been described. It has been observed that compound 4 has a good selectivity for metal cations Fe3+, Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ against Ni2+ and Co2+.  相似文献
