5,11,17,23-Tetrakis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-25,26-dihydroxy-27,28-crown-4-calix[4]arene in the cone conformation was synthesized. This p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-1,2-crown-4 compound was then anchored with Merrifield chloromethylated resin beads. The modified polymeric resin was characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR and elemental analysis and used successfully for the separation and preconcentration of Cu(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) prior to their determination by FAAS. Effective extraction conditions were optimized in both batch and column methods. The resin exhibits good separating ability with maximum between pH 6.0-7.0 for Cu(II), pH 6.0 for Cd(II), pH 5.0 for Co(II), pH 4.0-4.5 for Ni(II), and pH 4.5 for Zn(II). The elution studies were carried out with 0.5 mol L−1 HCl for Cu(II), Co(II) and Co(II), 1.0 mol L−1 HCl for Cd(II) and Zn(II). The sorption capacity, preconcentration factor and distribution coefficient of each metal ion were determined. The detection limits were 1.10, 1.25, 1.83, 1.68 and 2.01 μg L−1 for Cu(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II). The influence of several ions on the resin performance was also investigated. The validity of the proposed method was checked for these metal ions in NIST standard reference material 2709 (San Joaquin Soil) and 2711 (Montana Soil).  相似文献

Amberlite XAD-16 was loaded with 4-{[(2-hydroxyphenyl)imino]methyl}-1,2-benzenediol (HIMB) via azo linker and the resulting resin AXAD-16-HIMB explored for enrichment of Zn(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Co(II) in the pH range 5.0-8.0. The sorption capacity was found between 56 and 415 μmol g−1 and the preconcentration factors from 150 to 300. Tolerance limits for foreign species are reported. The kinetics of sorption is not slow, as t1/2 is ≤15 min. The chelating resin can be reused for seventy cycles of sorption-desorption without any significant change (<2.0%) in the sorption capacity. The limit of detection values (blank + 3 s) are 1.72, 1.30, 2.56, 2.10, 0.44, 2.93, 2.45 and 3.23 μg l−1 for Zn, Mn, Ni, Pb, Cd, Cu, Fe and Co, respectively. The enrichment on AXAD-16-HIMB coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) monitoring is used to determine the metal ion ions in river and synthetic water samples, Co in vitamin tablets and Zn in powdered milk samples.  相似文献

A trace element preconcentration procedure is described utilizing a minicolumn of yeast (Yamadazyma spartinae) immobilized TiO2 nanoparticles for determination of Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn from water samples by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. The elements were quantitatively retained on the column between pH 6 and 8. Elution was made with 5% (v/v) HNO3 solution. Recoveries ranged from 98 ± 2 (Cr) to 100 ± 4 (Zn) for preconcentration of 50 mL multielement solution (50 μg L−1). The column made up of 100 mg sorbent (yeast immobilized TiO2 NP) offers a capacity to preconcentrate up to 500 mL of sample solution to achieve an enrichment factor of 250 with 2 mL of 5% (v/v) HNO3 eluent. The detection limits obtained from preconcentration of 50 mL blank solutions (5%, v/v, HNO3, n = 11) were 0.17, 0.45, 0.25, 0.15, 0.33 and 0.10 μg L−1 for Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn, respectively. Relative standard deviation (RSD) for five replicate analyses was better than 5%. The retention of the elements was not affected from up to 500 μg L−1 Na+ and K+ (as chlorides), 100 μg L−1 Ca2+ (as nitrate) and 50 μg L−1 Mg2+ (as sulfate). The method was validated by analysis of freshwater standard reference material (SRM 1643e) and applied to the determination of the elements from tap water and lake water samples.  相似文献

2-(Methylthio)aniline-modified Amberlite XAD-2 has been synthesized by coupling it through a NNNH group. The resulting chelating resin, characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and infrared spectra, was used to preconcentrate Cd, Hg, Ni, Co, Cu and Zn ions. Several parameters, such as the distribution coefficient and sorption capacity of the chelating resin, pH and flow rates of uptake and stripping, and volume of sample and eluent, were evaluated. The effect of electrolytes and cations on the preconcentration was also investigated. The recoveries were >96%. The procedure was validated by standard addition and analysis of a standard river sediment material (GBW 08301, China). The developed method was utilized for preconcentration and determination of Cd, Hg, Ni, Co, Cu and Zn in tap water and river water samples by flame atomic absorption spectrometry with satisfactory results. The 3σ detection limit and 10σ quantification limit for Cd, Hg, Ni, Co, Cu and Zn were found to be 0.022, 0.028, 0.033, 0.045, 0.041, 0.064 μg l−1 and 0.041, 0.043, 0.052, 0.064, 0.058, 0.083 μg l−1, respectively.  相似文献

A method for the simultaneous determination of Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) at low μg L−1 concentration levels by sequential injection analysis-anodic stripping voltammetry (SIA-ASV) using screen-printed carbon nanotubes electrodes (SPCNTE) was developed. A bismuth film was prepared by in situ plating of bismuth on the screen-printed carbon nanotubes electrode. Operational parameters such as ratio of carbon nanotubes to carbon ink, bismuth concentration, deposition time and flow rate during preconcentration step were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, the linear ranges were found to be 2-100 μg L−1 for Pb(II) and Cd(II), and 12-100 μg L−1 for Zn(II). The limits of detection (Sbl/S = 3) were 0.2 μg L−1 for Pb(II), 0.8 μg L−1 for Cd(II) and 11 μg L−1 for Zn(II). The measurement frequency was found to be 10-15 stripping cycle h−1. The present method offers high sensitivity and high throughput for on-line monitoring of trace heavy metals. The practical utility of our method was also demonstrated with the determination of Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) by spiking procedure in herb samples. Our methodology produced results that were correlated with ICP-AES data. Therefore, we propose a method that can be used for the automatic and sensitive evaluation of heavy metals contaminated in herb items.  相似文献

Using the DPP polarograms of wet digested cauliflower sample in acetate buffer at pH values of 2, 4 and 6, Fe, Zn, Mo, Se, Cr, Cd, Pb, Ti and Cu quantities were determined. The best separation and determination conditions for Zn, Se and Mo was pH 2; for Cr, Zn, Mo and As was pH 4; for Pb pH 6, for Ti, Cu and Fe was pH 6-7 EDTA, for Cd pH 2 EDTA and for lead pH 6, all in acetate buffer. The trace element ranges for cauliflowers from two different seasons were (first figure for winter, the second for summer) for Se 120-250 μg g−1, Fe 70-85 μg g−1, Cu 320-150 μg g−1, Ti 90-120 μg g−1, Cr 130-630 μg g−1, Zn 90-550 μg g−1, Mo 170-230 μg g−1, Cd 20 μg g−1 (in winter) and Pb 130-300 μg g−1 in dry sample. Cd was under the detection limit in summer. The length of digestion time had no effect on the recovery of copper, iron, molybdenum and zinc between 15 and 3 h of digestion.  相似文献

Solid phase extraction of metal ions using carbon nanotubes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The sorption behaviour of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) toward some divalent metal ions such as Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Mn(II) and Cd(II) has been investigated systematically. The affinity order of the metal ions towards CNTs at pH in the range of 7.0-9.0 was: Cu(II) > Pb(II) > Zn(II) > Co(II) > Ni(II) > Cd(II) > Mn(II). The experimental parameters for preconcentration of copper, which exhibits the highest affinity towards carbon nanotubes, on a microcolumn packed with CNTs prior to its determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry have been investigated. Copper can be quantitatively retained at pH 8.2 from sample volume up to 150 mL and then eluted completely with 0.1 mol L− 1 HNO3. The limit of detection limit for Cu(II) determination with FAAS detection was 2.1 μg L− 1, and the RSD was 3.5% at the 50 μg L− 1 level. Under the optimal conditions for copper enrichment also Zn(II), Pb(II) and Ni(II) could be quantitatively preconcentrated from water samples. The method was validated using a certified reference materials BCR-610 and SRM 1640.  相似文献

2-{[1-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}benzoic acid (DMABA) was loaded on Amberlite XAD-16 (AXAD-16) via azo linker and the resulting resin AXAD-16-DMABA explored for enrichment of Zn(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Co(II). The optimum pH values for extraction are 6.5-7.0, 5.0-6.0, 5.5-7.5, 5.0-6.5, 6.5-8.0, 5.5-7.0, 4.0-5.0 and 6.0-7.0, respectively. The sorption capacity was found between 97 and 515 μmol g−1 and the preconcentration factors from 100 to 450. Tolerance limits for foreign species are reported. The kinetics of sorption is fast as t1/2 is ≤5 min. The chelating resin can be reused for 50 cycles of sorption-desorption without any significant change (<1.5%) in the sorption capacity. The limit of detection values (blank +3 s) are 1.12, 1.38, 1.76, 0.67, 0.77, 2.52, 5.92 and 1.08 μg L−1 for Zn(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Co(II), respectively. A quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (Q-ICP-MS) equipped with a dynamic reaction cell (DRC) and coupled with a desolvating nebulization system (APEX-IR) was employed to determine 17 elements (Al, As, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Li, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Sn, Sr, V, and Zr) in blood samples. Ammonia (for Al, Cr, Mn, and V) and O2 (for As and Se) were used as reacting gases. Selection of the best flow rate of the gases and optimization of the quadrupole dynamic bandpass tuning parameter (RPq) were carried out, using digested blood diluted 1 + 9 with deionized water and spiked with 1 μg L−1 of Al, Cr, Mn, V and 5 μg L−1 of As and Se. Detection limits were determined in digested blood using the 3σ criterion. The desolvating system allowed a sufficient sensitivity to be achieved to determine elements at levels of ng L−1 without detriment of signal stability. The accuracy of the method was tested with the whole blood certified reference material (CRM), certified for Al, As, Cd, Co, Cr, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, and V, and with indicative values for Ba, Li, Sn, Sr, and Zr. The addition calibration approach was chosen for analysis. In order to confirm the DRC data, samples were also analyzed by means of sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SF-ICP-MS), operating in medium (mm = 4000) and high (mm = 10,000) resolution mode and achieving a good agreement between the two techniques.  相似文献

A new chelating resin based on chitosan biopolymer modified with 5-sulphonic acid 8-hydroxyquinoline using the spray drying technique for immobilization is proposed. The chelating resin was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) and surface area by nitrogen sorption. The efficiency of the chelating resin was evaluated by the preconcentration of metal ions Cu(II) and Cd(II) present in aqueous samples in trace amounts. The metal ions were previously enriched in a minicolumn and the concentrations of the analytes were determined on-line by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The maximum retention for Cu(II) occurred in the pH range 8-10, and for Cd(II) at pH 7. The optimum flow rate for sorption was found to be 7.2 ml min−1 for the preconcentration of the metal ions. The analytes gave relative standard deviations (R.S.D.) of 0.7 and 0.6% for solutions containing 20 μg l−1 of Cu(II) and 15 μg l−1 of Cd (II), respectively (n=7). The enrichment factors for Cu(II) and Cd (II) were 19.1 and 13.9, respectively, and the limits of detection (LOD) were 0.2 μg l−1 for Cd(II) and 0.3 μg l−1 for Cu(II), using a preconcentration time of 90 s (n=11). The accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by the metal ion recovery technique, in the analysis of potable water and water from a lake, with recoveries being between 97.2 and 107.3%.  相似文献

In this study, dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) combined with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) was developed for simultaneous preconcentration and trace determination of chromium, copper, nickel and zinc in water samples. Sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (Na-DDTC), carbon tetrachloride and methanol were used as chelating agent, extraction solvent and disperser solvent, respectively. The effective parameters of DLLME such as volume of extraction and disperser solvents, pH, concentration of salt and concentration of the chelating agent were studied by a (2f−1) fractional factorial design to identify the most important parameters and their interactions. The results showed that concentration of salt and volume of disperser solvent had no effect on the extraction efficiency. In the next step, central composite design was used to obtain optimum levels of effective parameters. The optimal conditions were: volume of extraction solvent, 113 μL; concentration of the chelating agent, 540 mg L−1; and pH, 6.70. The linear dynamic range for Cu, Ni and Zn was 1-1000 μg L−1 and for Cr was 1-750 μg L−1. The correlation coefficient (R2) was higher than 0.993. The limits of detection were 0.23-0.55 μg L−1. The relative standard deviations (RSDs, C = 200 μg L−1, n = 7) were in the range of 2.1-3.8%. The method was successfully applied to determination of Cr, Cu, Ni and Zn in the real water samples and satisfactory relative recoveries (90-99%) were achieved.  相似文献

A cost-effective sequential injection system incorporating with an in-line UV digestion for breakdown of organic matter prior to voltammetric determination of Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) and Cu(II) by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) of a small scale voltammetric cell was developed. A low-cost small scale voltammetric cell was fabricated from disposable pipet tip and microcentrifuge tube with volume of about 3 mL for conveniently incorporated with the SI system. A home-made UV digestion unit was fabricated employing a small size and low wattage UV lamps and flow reactor made from PTFE tubing coiled around the UV lamp. An in-line single standard calibration or a standard addition procedure was developed employing a monosegmented flow technique. Performance of the proposed system was tested for in-line digestion of model water samples containing metal ions and some organic ligands such as strong organic ligand (EDTA) or intermediate organic ligand (humic acid). The wet acid digestion method (USEPA 3010a) was used as a standard digestion method for comparison. Under the optimum conditions, with deposition time of 180 s, linear calibration graphs in range of 10-300 μg L−1 Zn(II), 5-200 μg L−1 Cd(II), 10-200 μg L−1 Pb(II), 20-400 μg L−1 Cu(II) were obtained with detection limit of 3.6, 0.1, 0.7 and 4.3 μg L−1, respectively. Relative standard deviation were 4.2, 2.6, 3.1 and 4.7% for seven replicate analyses of 27 μg L−1 Zn(II), 13 μg L−1 Cd(II), 13 μg L−1 Pb(II) and 27 μg L−1 Cu(II), respectively. The system was validated by certified reference material of trace metals in natural water (SRM 1640 NIST). The developed system was successfully applied for speciation of Cd(II) Pb(II) and Cu(II) in ground water samples collected from nearby zinc mining area.  相似文献

Cross-linked chitosan was chemically modified with di-2-propanolamine via an arm of chloromethyloxirane (CCTS-DPA resin). The adsorption behavior of the resin towards 62 elements was examined using a mini-column pretreatment method, and the collected elements were eluted with 1 mol L− 1 nitric acid before measurement by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).The CCTS-DPA resin can adsorb several metal cations and several oxoanionic elements at appropriate pH. However, di-2-propanolamine (DPA) attached to cross-linked chitosan (CCTS) showed excellent ability and selectivity for the adsorption of germanium at pH 6 to 9. The adsorption capacity of the resin for germanium (IV) was found to be 106 mg g− 1 resin, whereas the adsorption rate constant was 9.82 × 10− 2 min− 1. Through the column treatment, alkali and alkaline earth matrices in river water and seawater matrices could be completely removed. The resin can also successfully remove chloride and selenium that can interfere with the direct determination of germanium by ICP-MS. The applicability of the CCTS-DPA resin was further demonstrated for the collection/preconcentration of germanium in environmental water samples and its determination by ICP-MS. The concentrations of germanium in tap water, river water and seawater samples were found in the range of 0.011 to 0.022 μg L− 1.  相似文献

A bismuth-film modified graphite nanofibers-Nafion glassy carbon electrode (BiF/GNFs-NA/GCE) was constructed for the simultaneous determination of trace Cd(II) and Pb(II). The electrochemical properties and applications of the modified electrode were studied. Operational parameters such as deposition potential, deposition time, and bismuth ion concentration were optimized for the purpose of determination of trace metal ions in 0.10 M acetate buffer solution (pH 4.5). Under optimal conditions, based on three times the standard deviation of the baseline, the limits of detection were 0.09 μg L−1 for Cd(II) and 0.02 μg L−1 for Pb(II) with a 10 min preconcentration. In addition, the BiF/GNFs-NA/GCE displayed good reproducibility and selectivity, making it suitable for the simultaneous determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II) in real sample such as river water and human blood samples.  相似文献

The possibility of applying antimony-film modified glassy carbon electrode in sequential-injection analysis (SIA) was investigated with the objective of determining Pb(II) and Cd(II) by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). The conditions of antimony-film deposition concerning composition of the plating/carrier solutions, concentrations of Sb(III) and hydrochloric acid, effects of different supporting electrolyte salts, and plating potential were optimized. It was found that the antimony-film deposition on glassy carbon substrate in a sample solution consisting of 750 μg L−1 Sb(III), 0.5 mol L−1 HCl at −1.5 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/3 mol L−1 KCl) yielded a modified electrode suitable for the determination of Pb(II) and Cd(II) at the μg L−1 level. The reproducibility of the analytical signals was characterized by a relative standard deviation lower than 2.8%, and the calculated values of detection limits were 1.2 μg L−1 for Pb(II) and 1.4 μg L−1 for Cd(II). The presence of KSCN in the sample solution offers the possibility of detecting ions with more negative oxidation potentials like Zn(II), Mn(II) or Cr(III). The developed SIA-ASV procedure was compared with the commonly used batch method, and its applicability was tested on a spiked tap water sample.  相似文献

An integrated approach for the accurate determination of total, labile and organically bound dissolved trace metal concentration in the field is presented. Two independent automated platforms consisting of an ultraviolet (UV) on-line unit and a chelation/preconcentration/matrix elimination module were specifically developed to process samples on-site to avoid sample storage prior to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis. The speciation scheme allowed simultaneous discrimination between labile and organic stable dissolved species of seven trace elements including Cd, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, U and Zn, using only 5 ml of sample with detection limits ranging between 0.6 ng l−1 for Cd and 33 ng l−1 for Ni. The influence of UV photolysis on organic matter and its associated metal complexes was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy and validated against natural samples spiked with humic substances standards. The chelation/preconcentration/matrix elimination procedure was validated against an artificial seawater spiked sample and two certified reference materials (SLRS-4 and CASS-4) to ensure homogenous performance across freshwater, estuarine and seawater samples. The speciation scheme was applied to two natural freshwater and seawater samples collected in the Adour Estuary (Southwestern, France) and processed in the field. The results indicated that the organic complexation levels were high and unchanged for Cu in both samples, whereas different signatures were observed for Cd, Mn, Ni, Pb, U and Zn, suggesting organic ligands of different origin and/or their transformation/alteration along estuarine water mixing.  相似文献

This work describes the development of an electrochemical sensor for simultaneous detection of Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) using a graphene–polyaniline (G/PANI) nanocomposite electrode prepared by reverse-phase polymerization in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). Two substrate materials (plastic film and filter paper) and two nanocomposite deposition methods (drop-casting and electrospraying) were investigated. Square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry currents were higher for plastic vs. paper substrates. Performance of the G/PANI nanocomposites was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and cyclic voltammetry. The G/PANI-modified electrode exhibited high electrochemical conductivity, producing a three-fold increase in anodic peak current (vs. the unmodified electrode). The G/PANI-modified electrode also showed evidence of increased surface area under SEM. Square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry was used to measure Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) in the presence of Bi(III). A linear working range of 1–300 μg L−1 was established between anodic current and metal ion concentration with detection limits (S/N = 3) of 1.0 μg L−1 for Zn(II), and 0.1 μg L−1 for both Cd(II) and Pb(II). The G/PANI-modified electrode allowed selective determination of the target metals in the presence of common metal interferences including Mn(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Fe(II), Co(III), and Ni(II). Repeat assays on the same device demonstrated good reproducibility (%RSD < 11) over 10 serial runs. Finally, this system was utilized for determining Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) in human serum using the standard addition method.  相似文献

A cost-effective sequential injection monosegmented flow analysis (SI-MSFA) with anodic stripping voltammetric (ASV) detection has been developed for determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II). The bismuth film working electrode (BiFE) was employed for accumulative preconcentration of the metals by applying a fixed potential of −1.10 V versus Ag/AgCl electrode for 90 s. The SI-MSFA provides a convenient means for preparation of a homogeneous solution zone containing sample in an acetate buffer electrolyte solution and Bi(III) solution for in situ plating of BiFE, ready for ASV measurement at a flow through thin layer electrochemical cell. Under the optimum conditions, linear calibration graphs in range of 10-100 μg L−1 of both Cd(II) and Pb(II) were obtained with detection limits of 1.4 and 6.9 μg L−1 of Cd(II) and Pb(II), respectively. Relative standard deviations were 2.7 and 3.1%, for 11 replicate analyses of 25 μg L−1 Cd(II) and 25 μg L−1 Pb(II), respectively. A sample throughput of 12 h−1 was achieved with low consumption of reagent and sample solutions. The system was successfully applied for analysis of water samples collected from a draining pond of zinc mining, validating by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) method.  相似文献

We report for the first time the synthesis of bismuth-modified (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) and its application for the determination of lead and cadmium by anodic stripping voltammetry. Xerogels made from bismuth-modified MPTMS and mixtures of it with tetraethoxysilane, under basic conditions (NH3·H2O), were characterized with scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and electrochemical methods. Bismuth-modified xerogels were mixed with 1.5% (v/v) Nafion in ethanol and applied on glassy carbon electrodes. During the electrolytic reductive deposition step, the bismuth compound on the electrode surface was reduced to metallic bismuth. The target metal cations were simultaneously reduced to the respective metals and were preconcentrated on the electrode surface by forming an alloy with bismuth. Then, an anodic voltammetric scan was applied in which the metals were oxidized and stripped back into the solution; the voltammogram was recorded and the stripping peak heights were related to the concentration of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions in the sample. Various key parameters were investigated in detail and optimized. The effect of potential interferences was also examined. Under optimum conditions and for preconcentration period of 4 min, the 3σ limit of detection was 1.3 μg L−1 for Pb(II) and 0.37 μg L−1 for Cd(II), while the reproducibility of the method was 4.2% for lead (n = 5, 10.36 μg L−1 Pb(II)) and 3.9% for cadmium (n = 5, 5.62 μg L−1 Cd(II)). Finally, the sensors were applied to the determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions in water samples.  相似文献
