Product probability property, known in the literature as statistical independence, is examined first. Then generalized entropies are introduced, all of which give generalizations to Shannon entropy. It is shown that the nature of the recursivity postulate automatically determines the logarithmic functional form for Shannon entropy. Due to the logarithmic nature, Shannon entropy naturally gives rise to additivity, when applied to situations having product probability property. It is argued that the natural process is non-additivity, important, for example, in statistical mechanics [C. Tsallis, Possible generalization of Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics, J. Stat. Phys. 52 (1988) 479-487; E.G.D. Cohen, Boltzmann and Einstein: statistics and dynamics—an unsolved problem, Pramana 64 (2005) 635-643.], even in product probability property situations and additivity can hold due to the involvement of a recursivity postulate leading to a logarithmic function. Generalized entropies are introduced and some of their properties are examined. Situations are examined where a generalized entropy of order α leads to pathway models, exponential and power law behavior and related differential equations. Connection of this entropy to Kerridge's measure of “inaccuracy” is also explored.  相似文献

Noise-aided information transmission via stochastic resonance is shown and analyzed in a binary channel by means of information measures based on the Tsallis entropy. The analysis extends the classic reference of binary information transmission based on the Shannon entropy, and also parallels a recent study based on the Rényi entropy. The conditions for a maximally pronounced stochastic resonance identify optimal Tsallis measures. The study involves a correspondence between Tsallis and Rényi information measures, specially relevant to the characterization of stochastic resonance, and establishing that for such effects identical properties are shared in common by both Tsallis and Rényi measures.  相似文献

We propose a one-parameter family Rq of deformations of the reals, which is motivated by the generalized additivity of the Tsallis entropy. We introduce a generalized multiplication which is distributive with respect to the generalized addition of the Tsallis entropy. These operations establish a one-parameter family of field isomorphisms τq between R and Rq through which an absolute value on Rq is introduced. This turns out to be a quasisymmetric map, whose metric and measure-theoretical implications are pointed out.  相似文献

It is experimentally known that virus exhibits stochastic motion in cytoplasm of a living cell in the free form as well as the form being contained in the endosome and the exponent of anomalous diffusion of the virus fluctuates depending on localized areas of the cytoplasm. Here, a theory is developed for establishing a generalized fractional kinetics for the infection pathway of the virus in the cytoplasm in view of superstatistics, which offers a general framework for describing nonequilibrium complex systems with two largely separated time scales. In the present theory, the existence of a large time-scale separation in the infection pathway is explicitly taken into account. A comment is also made on scaling nature of the motion of the virus that is suggested by the theory.  相似文献

In the theory of thermonuclear reaction rates, analytical evaluation of thermonuclear functions for non-resonant reactions, including cases with cut-off and depletion of the tail of the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution function were considered in a series of papers by Mathai and Haubold [A.M. Mathai, H.J. Haubold, Modern Problems in Nuclear and Neutrino Astrophysics, Akademie-Verlag, Berlin, 1988]. In the present paper we study more general classes of thermonuclear functions by introducing a pathway parameter α, so that when α→1 the thermonuclear functions in the Maxwell-Boltzmannian case are recovered. We will also give interpretations for the pathway parameter α in the case of cut-off and in terms of moments. Non-extensive statistical mechanics, as developed by Tsallis [C. Tsallis, What should a statistical mechanics satisfy to reflect nature? Physica D 193 (2004) 3-34], provides the physical basis for the generalized thermonuclear functions considered in this paper.  相似文献

We study the X-ray intensities of 142 light curves of cataclysmic variables, galaxies, pulsars, supernova remnants and other X-ray sources present in the public data collected by the instrument All Sky Monitor on board the satellite Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer. We show that the X-ray light curves coming from astrophysical systems obey Tsallis’s qq-Gaussian distribution as probability density. This fact strongly suggests that these astrophysical systems behave in a non-extensive manner. Furthermore, the qq entropic indices for these systems were obtained and they provide an indication of the nonextensivity degree of each of these astrophysical systems. The qq-value increases for systems if the Tsallis entropy decreases.  相似文献

In this paper, based on the discrete lifetime distribution, the residual and past of the Tsallis and Renyi extropy are introduced as new measures of information. Moreover, some of their properties and their relation to other measures are discussed. Furthermore, an example of a uniform distribution of the obtained models is given. Moreover, the softmax function can be used as a discrete probability distribution function with a unity sum. Thus, applying those measures to the softmax function for simulated and real data is demonstrated. Besides, for real data, the softmax data are fit to a convenient ARIMA model.  相似文献

In this work, we explore a new connection between quantum groups and Tsallis entropy through the energy spectrum of a Hamiltonian with SUq(2)SUq(2) symmetry. Identifying the deformation parameter of the entropy with the parameter of deformation of the associated quantum group, we deduce Tsallis entropy for states related to such a system with SUq(2)SUq(2) symmetry and conducted an investigation of quantum entanglement.  相似文献

The scalar version of the pathway model of Mathai [A.M. Mathai, Linear Alg. Appl. 396 (2005) 317] is shown to be associated with a large number of probability models used in physics. Different families of densities are listed here, which are all connected through the pathway parameter α, generating a distributional pathway. The idea is to switch from one functional form to another through this parameter and it is shown that one can proceed from the generalized type-1 beta family to generalized type-2 beta family to generalized gamma family. It is also shown that the pathway model is available by maximizing a generalized measure of entropy, leading to an entropic pathway, covering the particularly interesting cases of Tsallis statistics [C. Tsallis, J. Stat. Phys. 52 (1988) 479] and superstatistics [C. Beck, E.G.D. Cohen, Physica A 322 (2003) 267].  相似文献

A two-parameter probability distribution is constructed by dilatation (or contraction) of the escort probability distribution. This transformation involves a physical probability distribution P associated with the system under study and an almost arbitrary reference probability distribution P. In contrast to the Shannon and Rényi entropies, the Tsallis entropy does not decompose as the sum of the physical contribution due to P and the reference or spurious part owing to P. For solving this problem, a slight modification to the relation between Tsallis and Rényi entropies must be introduced. The procedure in this paper gives rise to a nonconventional one-parameter Shannon entropy and to two-parameter Rényi and Tsallis entropies associated with P. It also contributes to clarify the meaning and role of the escort probabilities set.  相似文献

Asymmetric distributions are widely used in probability modeling and statistical analysis. Recently, various asymmetric distributions are being developed by many researchers for modeling various data sets in real life contexts. In the present paper, we introduce a new class of q-type asymmetric distributions which include q-analogues of asymmetric Laplace, exponential power, Weibull etc. and corresponding standard distributions as special cases. Also we show that this pathway model can be obtained by optimizing Mathai’s generalized entropy with more general setup, which is a generalization of various entropy measures due to Shannon and others.  相似文献

By only requiring the q deformed logarithms (q exponentials) to possess arguments chosen from the entire set of positive real numbers (all real numbers), we show that the q-logarithm (q exponential) can be written in such a way that its argument varies between 0 and 1 (among negative real numbers) for 1?q<2, while the interval 0<q?1 corresponds to any real argument greater than 1 (positive real numbers). These two distinct intervals of the nonextensivity index q, also the expressions of the deformed functions associated with them, are related to one another through the relation (2−q), which is so far used to obtain the ordinary stationary distributions from the corresponding escort distributions, and vice versa in an almost ad hoc manner. This shows that the escort distributions are only a means of extending the interval of validity of the deformed functions to the one of ordinary, undeformed ones. Moreover, we show that, since the Tsallis entropy is written in terms of the q-logarithm and its argument, being the inverse of microstate probabilities, takes values equal to or greater than 1, the resulting stationary solution is uniquely described by the one obtained from the ordinary constraint. Finally, we observe that even the escort stationary distributions can be obtained through the use of the ordinary averaging procedure if the argument of the q-exponential lies in (−∞,0]. However, this case corresponds to, although related, a different entropy expression than the Tsallis entropy.  相似文献

Polymer plasma produced by laser ablation is investigated in a theoretical manner. In relation to the fact that the charge carrier circulation is assumed to take place on fractal curves, the so-called fractality type, electrical charge transport can be resolved by an extended scale relativity method. In addition, an elegant mathematical model, utilizing a conjecture of fractal space-time, is elaborated. The complete solution and its graphical representation for temperature distribution in two-dimensional and three-dimensional cases are successfully introduced. The discrete physical behavior and irrevocable transformation of nanoscale microdomain substructures by laser ablation are realistically examined. Further, benefiting from the interpretation of the fractal analysis, each of the experimental results can be fairly explained. On top of that, this paper presents a proof of Tsallis nonextensive q-statistics, especially for the plasma plume studied. Tsallis entropy in direct connection with fractal dynamics and chaotic-type mechanics of the plasma plume and time-series representation of plasma temperature is introduced for the first time in the present publication, and the q-statistics of the plume plasma temperature are also studied, among others.  相似文献

In this paper,we discuss quantum uncertainty relations of Tsallis relative α entropy coherence for a single qubit system based on three mutually unbiased bases. For α∈[1/2,1)U(1,2],the upper and lower bounds of sums of coherence are obtained. However, the above results cannot be verified directly for any α∈(0,1/2).Hence,we only consider the special case of α=1/n+1,where n is a positive integer, and we obtain the upper and lower bounds.By comparing the upper and lower bounds,we find that the upper bound is equal to the lower bound for the special α=1/2,and the differences between the upper and the lower bounds will increase as α increases.Furthermore,we discuss the tendency of the sum of coherence, and find that it has the same tendency with respect to the different θ or φ,which is opposite to the uncertainty relations based on the Rényi entropy and Tsallis entropy.  相似文献

Tsallis introduced a non-logarithmic generalization of Shannon entropy, namely Tsallis entropy, which is non-extensive. Sati and Gupta proposed cumulative residual information based on this non-extensive entropy measure, namely cumulative residual Tsallis entropy (CRTE), and its dynamic version, namely dynamic cumulative residual Tsallis entropy (DCRTE). In the present paper, we propose non-parametric kernel type estimators for CRTE and DCRTE where the considered observations exhibit an ρ-mixing dependence condition. Asymptotic properties of the estimators were established under suitable regularity conditions. A numerical evaluation of the proposed estimator is exhibited and a Monte Carlo simulation study was carried out.  相似文献

The aim of this paper consists in developing an entropy-based approach to risk assessment for actuarial models involving truncated and censored random variables by using the Tsallis entropy measure. The effect of some partial insurance models, such as inflation, truncation and censoring from above and truncation and censoring from below upon the entropy of losses is investigated in this framework. Analytic expressions for the per-payment and per-loss entropies are obtained, and the relationship between these entropies are studied. The Tsallis entropy of losses of the right-truncated loss random variable corresponding to the per-loss risk model with a deductible d and a policy limit u is computed for the exponential, Weibull, χ2 or Gamma distribution. In this context, the properties of the resulting entropies, such as the residual loss entropy and the past loss entropy, are studied as a result of using a deductible and a policy limit, respectively. Relationships between these entropy measures are derived, and the combined effect of a deductible and a policy limit is also analyzed. By investigating residual and past entropies for survival models, the entropies of losses corresponding to the proportional hazard and proportional reversed hazard models are derived. The Tsallis entropy approach for actuarial models involving truncated and censored random variables is new and more realistic, since it allows a greater degree of flexibility and improves the modeling accuracy.  相似文献

In this Letter, a generalized Tu formula is firstly presented to construct Hamiltonian structures of fractional soliton equations. The obtained results can be reduced to the classical Hamiltonian hierarchy of AKNS in ordinary calculus.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive an explicit analytic expression of the relative entropy between two general Gaussian states. In the restriction of the set for Gaussian states and with the help of relative entropy formula and Peres--Simon separability criterion, one can conveniently obtain the relative entropy entanglement for Gaussian states. As an example, the relative entanglement for a two-mode squeezed thermal state has been obtained.  相似文献

This Letter deals with the solution of unified fractional reaction-diffusion systems in an infinite domain. The results are obtained in compact and elegant forms in terms of generalized Mittag-Leffler functions, which are suitable for numerical computation.  相似文献
