It is commonly accepted that realistic networks can display not only a complex topological structure, but also a heterogeneous distribution of connection weights. In addition, time delay is inevitable because the information spreading through a complex network is characterized by the finite speeds of signal transmission over a distance. Weighted complex networks with coupling delays have been gaining increasing attention in various fields of science and engineering. Some of the topics of most concern in the field of weighted complex networks are finding how the synchronizability depends on various parameters of the network including the coupling strength, weight distribution and delay. On the basis of the theory of asymptotic stability of linear time-delay systems with complex coefficients, the synchronization stability of weighted complex dynamical networks with coupling delays is investigated, and simple criteria are obtained for both delay-independent and delay-dependent stabilities of the synchronization state. Finally, an example is given as an illustration testing the theoretical results. 相似文献

Realistic networks display not only a complex topological structure, but also a heterogeneous distribution of weights in connection strengths. In addition, the information spreading through a complex network is often associated with time delays due to the finite speed of signal transmission over a distance. Hence, the weighted complex network with coupling delays have meaningful implications in real world, and resultantly gains increasing attention in various fields of science and engineering. Based on the theory of asymptotic stability of linear time-delay systems, synchronization stability of the weighted complex dynamical network with coupling delays is investigated, and simple criteria are obtained for both delay-independent and delay-dependent stabilities of synchronization states. The obtained criteria in this paper encompass the established results in the literature as special cases. Some examples are given to illustrate the theoretical results. 相似文献

This Letter investigates the problem of synchronization in complex dynamical networks with time-varying delays. A periodically intermittent control scheme is proposed to achieve global exponential synchronization for a general complex network with both time-varying delays dynamical nodes and time-varying delays coupling. It is shown that the sates of the general complex network with both time-varying delays dynamical nodes and time-varying delays coupling can globally exponentially synchronize with a desired orbit under the designed intermittent controllers. Moreover, a typical network consisting of the time-delayed Chua oscillator with nearest-neighbor unidirectional time-varying delays coupling is given as an example to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology. 相似文献

This paper investigates the synchronization of time delayed complex dynamical networks with periodical on-off coupling. Both the theoretical and numerical results show that, in spite of time delays and on-off coupling, two networks may synchronize if the coupling strength and the on-off rate are large enough. It is shown that, for undirected and strongly connected networks, the upper bound of time delays for synchronization is a decreasing function of the absolute value of the minimum eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix. The theoretical analysis confirms the numerical results and provides a better understanding of the influence of time delays and on-off coupling on the synchronization transition. The influence of random delays on the synchronization is also discussed. 相似文献

This paper deals with the pinning synchronization of nonlinearly coupled complex networks with time-varying coupling delays and time-varying delays in the dynamical nodes. We control a part of the nodes of the complex networks by using adaptive feedback controllers and adjusting the time-varying coupling strengths.Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability theory for functional differential equations and a linear matrix inequality(LMI),some sufficient conditions for the synchronization are derived.A numerical simulation example is also provided to verify the correctness and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 相似文献

We study synchronization transitions and pattern formation on small-world networks consisting of Morris-Lecar excitable neurons in dependence on the information transmission delay and the rewiring probability. In addition, networks formed via gap junctional connections and coupling via chemical synapses are considered separately. For gap-junctionally coupled networks we show that short delays can induce zigzag fronts of excitations, whereas long delays can further detriment synchronization due to a dynamic clustering anti-phase synchronization transition. For the synaptically coupled networks, on the other hand, we find that the clustering anti-phase synchronization can appear as a direct consequence of the prolongation of information transmission delay, without being accompanied by zigzag excitatory fronts. Irrespective of the coupling type, however, we show that an appropriate small-world topology can always restore synchronized activity if only the information transmission delays are short or moderate at most. Long information transmission delays always evoke anti-phase synchronization and clustering, in which case the fine-tuning of the network topology fails to restore the synchronization of neuronal activity. 相似文献

Coupling delays may cause drastic changes in the dynamics of oscillatory networks. In the present paper we investigate how coupling delays alter synchronization processes in networks of all-to-all coupled pulse oscillators. We derive an analytic criterion for the stability of synchrony and study the synchronization areas in the space of the delay and coupling strength. Specific attention is paid to the scenario of destabilization on the borders of the synchronization area. We show that in bifurcation points the system possesses homoclinic loops, which give rise to complex long- or quasi-periodic solutions. These newly born solutions are characterized by a synchronous group, from which an oscillator periodically escapes, laps one period, and rejoins. We call such a dynamical regime “phase slip patterns”. 相似文献

It has been demonstrated that most complex networks display synchronization phenomena, and this problem has attracted great attention of various fields including science and engineering. In this paper, a generalized complex dynamical network model with time-varying delays was presented. Kronecker product was adopted to investigate this model. Moreover, several synchronization criteria were derived for both delay-independent and delay-dependent asymptotical stability. Especially, it has been shown that synchronization of such dynamical network is determined by the linear matrix inequality consisting of coupling configuration matrices, inner-coupling matrices and isolated cells. At last, illustrative examples were given to validate the above-acquired. 相似文献

Stability of synchronization in delay-coupled networks of identical units generally depends in a complicated way on the coupling topology. We show that for large coupling delays synchronizability relates in a simple way to the spectral properties of the network topology. The master stability function used to determine the stability of synchronous solutions has a universal structure in the limit of large delay: It is rotationally symmetric around the origin and increases monotonically with the radius in the complex plane. This allows a universal classification of networks with respect to their synchronization properties and solves the problem of complete synchronization in networks with strongly delayed coupling. 相似文献

Here we investigate the synchronization of networks of FitzHugh-Nagumo neurons coupled in scale-free, small-world and random topologies, in the presence of distributed time delays in the coupling of neurons. We explore how the synchronization transition is affected when the time delays in the interactions between pairs of interacting neurons are non-uniform. We find that the presence of distributed time-delays does not change the behavior of the synchronization transition significantly, vis-a-vis networks with constant time-delay, where the value of the constant time-delay is the mean of the distributed delays. We also notice that a normal distribution of delays gives rise to a transition at marginally lower coupling strengths, vis-a-vis uniformly distributed delays. These trends hold across classes of networks and for varying standard deviations of the delay distribution, indicating the generality of these results. So we conclude that distributed delays, which may be typically expected in real-world situations, do not have a notable effect on synchronization. This allows results obtained with constant delays to remain relevant even in the case of randomly distributed delays. 相似文献

The idea of network splitting according to time delay and weight is introduced. Based on the cyber physical systems(CPS), a class of multi-weighted complex transportation networks with multiple delays is modeled. The finite-time synchronization of the proposed complex transportation networks model is studied systematically. On the basis of the theory of stability, the technique of adaptive control, aperiodically intermittent control and finite-time control, the aperiodically intermittent adaptive finite-time synchronization controller is designed. The controller designed in this paper is beneficial for understanding the synchronization in multi-weighted complex transportation networks with multiple delays. In addition, the conditions for the existence of finite time synchronization have been discussed in detail. And the specific value of the settling finite time for synchronization is obtained. Moreover, the outer coupling configuration matrices are not required to be irreducible or symmetric. Finally, simulation results of the finite-time synchronization problem are given to illustrate the correctness of the results obtained. 相似文献

Robust adaptive synchronization of general dynamical networks with multiple delays and uncertainties
In this article, a general complex dynamical network which contains multiple delays and uncertainties is introduced, which contains time-varying coupling delays, time-varying node delay, and uncertainties of both the inner- and outer-coupling matrices. A robust adaptive synchronization scheme for these general complex networks with multiple delays and uncertainties is established and raised by employing the robust adaptive control principle and the Lyapunov stability theory. We choose some suitable adaptive synchronization controllers to ensure the robust synchronization of this dynamical network. The numerical simulations of the time-delay Lorenz chaotic system as local dynamical node are provided to observe and verify the viability and productivity of the theoretical research in this paper. Compared to the achievement of previous research, the research in this paper seems quite comprehensive and universal. 相似文献

The main objective of the present paper is further to investigate global synchronization of a general model of complex delayed dynamical networks. Based on stability theory on delayed dynamical systems, some simple yet less conservative criteria for both delay-independent and delay-dependent global synchronization of the networks are derived analytically. It is shown that under some conditions, if the uncoupled dynamical node is stable itself, then the network can be globally synchronized for any coupling delays as long as the coupling strength is small enough. On the other hand, if each dynamical node of the network is chaotic, then global synchronization of the networks is heavily dependent on the effects of coupling delays in addition to the connection configuration. Furthermore, the results are applied to some typical small-world (SW) and scale-free (SF) complex networks composing of coupled dynamical nodes such as the cellular neural networks (CNNs) and the chaotic FHN neuron oscillators, and numerical simulations are given to verify and also visualize the theoretical results. 相似文献

A general model of linearly stochastically coupled identical connected neural networks with hybrid coupling is proposed, which is composed of constant coupling, coupling discrete time-varying delay and coupling distributed timevarying delay. All the coupling terms are subjected to stochastic disturbances described in terms of Brownian motion, which reflects a more realistic dynamical behaviour of coupled systems in practice. Based on a simple adaptive feedback controller and stochastic stability theory, several sufficient criteria are presented to ensure the synchronization of linearly stochastically coupled complex networks with coupling mixed time-varying delays. Finally, numerical simulations illustrated by scale-free complex networks verify the effectiveness of the proposed controllers. 相似文献

<正>This paper presents a new robust adaptive synchronization method for a class of uncertain dynamical complex networks with network failures and coupling time-varying delays.Adaptive schemes are proposed to adjust controller parameters for the faulty network compensations,as well as to estimate the upper and lower bounds of delayed state errors and perturbations to compensate the effects of delay and perturbation on-line without assuming symmetry or irreducibility of networks. It is shown that, through Lyapunov stability theory, distributed adaptive controllers constructed by the adaptive schemes are successful in ensuring the achievement of asymptotic synchronization of networks in the present of faulty and delayed networks, and perturbation inputs.A Chua's circuit network example is finally given to show the effectiveness of the proposed synchronization criteria. 相似文献

In neural networks, there exist both synaptic delays among different neurons and autaptic self-feedback delays in a neuron itself. In this paper, we study synchronization transitions induced by synaptic and autaptic delays in scale-free neuron networks, mainly exploring how these two time delays affect synchronization transitions induced by each other. It is found that the synchronization transitions induced by synaptic (autaptic) delay are intermittently enhanced when autaptic (synaptic) delay is varied. There are optimal autaptic strength and synaptic coupling strength by which the synchronization transitions induced by autaptic and synaptic delays become strongest. The underlying mechanisms are briefly discussed in terms of the relationships of autaptic delay, synaptic delay, and inter-burst interval. These results show that synaptic and autaptic delays could contribute to each other and enhance synchronization transitions in the neuronal networks. This implies that autaptic and synaptic delays could play a vital role for the information transmission in neural systems. 相似文献

A new general network model for two complex networks with time-varying delay coupling is presented. Then we investigate its synchronization phenomena. The two complex networks of the model differ in dynamic nodes, the number of nodes and the coupling connections. By using adaptive controllers, a synchronization criterion is derived. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained synchronization criterion. This study may widen the application range of synchronization, such as in chaotic secure communication. 相似文献

In the paper, we applied an adaptive principle to three kinds of complex networks as well as a random network within the context of the Kuramoto model. We found that the adaptive scheme could suppress the negative effect of the heterogeneity in the networks and the phase synchronization is enhanced obviously. The paper mainly investigates the adaptive coupling scheme in the small-world network, the scale-free network, and the modular network. Comparing with other weighted or unweighted static coupling schemes, the adaptive coupling scheme has a better performance in synchronization and communication efficiency, and provides a more realistic picture of synchronization in complex networks. 相似文献
