The momentum and energy transfer phenomena with large temperature difference were investigated experimentally and theoretically, using an argon atmospheric thermal plasma. The plasma was generated by an arc discharge, 4–6 kW, and flowed into a water-cooled copper tube for static pressure measurements and into a copper block with the same size hole (8 mm i.d.) for measuring heat fluxes using a transient method. The argon flow rate was 2.77–8.31×10 –4 kg/s. The static pressure of the plasma flow shows a different variation from that of an ordinary flow and does not decrease monotonically. The axial distributions of the numerical calculations are in fair agreement with those of the experiments, and it is concluded that the contributions of recombination and of physical properties play important roles in the behavior of the confined thermal plasma flow. 相似文献

This article presents the experimental study and comparative performance evaluation of four types of cook stoves using energy and exergy analysis. Analysis of four different types of cook stove models viz. Envirofit, Mangla, Harsha and Vikram were selected and the water boiling test has been carried out. The suitable biomass available from the local market was prepared in the proper size as described in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and has been used as the fuel for cook stove in this experimental study. The aluminium pots of proper capacity as per BIS standard have been used for different cook stoves. The data from the experiments was collected and evaluated for the energy and exergy efficiencies for different models. Based on the data analysis it is found that the exergy efficiency is much lower than that of the energy efficiency for all the four models. It is also found that the both the efficiencies of Envirofit model are found to be higher than those of other models studied here. 相似文献

Numerical studies of laminar forced convective heat transfer and fluid flow in a 2D louvered microchannel with Al2O3/water nanofluids are performed by the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). Eight louvers are arranged in tandem within the single-pass microchannel. The Reynolds number based on channel hydraulic diameter and bulk mean velocity ranges from 100 to 400, where the Al2O3 fraction varies from 0 to 4%. A double distribution function approach is adopted for modeling fluid flow and heat transfer. Code validations are performed by comparing the streamwise Nusselt number (Nu) profiles and Fanning friction factors of the present LBM and those of the analytical solutions. Good agreements are obtained. Simulated results show that the louver microstructure can disturb the core flow and guide coolant toward the heated walls, thus enhancing the heat transfer significantly. Furthermore, the addition of nanoparticles in microchannels can also augment the heat transfer, but it creates an unnoticeable pressure loss. With both the louver microstructure and nanofluid, a maximum overall Nu enhancement of 7.06 is found relative to that of the fully developed smooth channel. 相似文献

The processes of benzene alkylation with n-alkenes C 2–C 3 on sulfocation exchangers are developed. The processes are deprived of the strong corrosion aggressiveness, characteristic of the industrial processes with use of AlCl 3 or BF 3, and do not need the periodic burning out of the formed contaminants, that is characteristic of the processes with application of zeolites. Alkylation proceeds in the liquid phase at moderate temperatures: 70–90°C in the case of alkylation with propene and n-butenes, and 130°C for the alkylation with ethylene. With the use of alkane-alkene fractions C 2–C 3 the conversion of alkenes process exceeds 99%, the alkylbenzene to dialkylbenzenes ratio reaches 20–25%. The possibility of using NTA, EDTA and DTPA as complexing agents for separation of some platinum group ions on cellulose ion-exchangers has been investigated. The greatest differences in the affinities of Pd(II) and Pt(IV) toward the cellulose ion-exchangers are obtained in the presence of DPTA, Cellex D (as ion-exchanger) in hydroxide form. The column separation of Pd(II) from Pt(IV), Rh(III) from Pd(II) and of a Rh(III)Pd(II)Pt(IV) mixture can be achieved with DPTA and chloride solutions. The effect of various doses of gamma radiation on the ion-exchange capacity, distribution coefficient values, elution behaviour, physical effect, pH titration and infrared spectra of some synthetic inorganic ion exchangers, namely the cerium substituted phosphates; and naturally occurring inorganic ion exchangers, zeolites from different parts of Iran, have been studied systematically.No significant change has been observed in the ion-exchange capacity (with the exception of CeP(Na), CeP(Di·Na) and zeolite 5 (deposits of arababad talas)), elution behaviour, physical effect, chemical stability and the infrared spectra of the synthetic ion exchangers irradiated upto a total dose of 200 kGy, while a change has been observed in the pH-titration and distribution behaviour. The increase in pH is sharper for irradiated samples with divalent cations than for the normal samples. Furthermore, the Kd values, and hence the selectivity towards certain cations increase with the total dose absorbed, reaching its optimum selectivity with the dose of 50–100 kGy. The natural zeolites chosen for these studies, show, similar pattern to those of synthetic ion exchangers, and in some cases an extremely high selectivity toward certain cations, like Be II. These make, zeolites, which are naturally occurring ion exchangers more viable economically, and extremely useful alternative in this industry. 相似文献
