We consider a model of spinless fermions on a lattice, interacting through a nearest neighbor repulsion. In the half-filled band case and for dimensionsd 2, we rigorously prove that there is long-range order in some domain of the parameters=(k B T)–1 andt/U, wheret is the hopping amplitude of the particles,U the strength of their repulsion, and the inverse temperature. Our technique is based on the usual Peierls argument of classical statistical mechanics but fails for the groundstate. We consider the standard Hubbard model in the U= limit. We show that, for any finite lattice with all positive hopping matrix elements, t i,j >0, the ground state energy of the system containing two particles in excess of half filling plus the energy of the system at half filling is never lower than twice the energy of the system with a single extra particle. Similar results are obtained for holes when the lattice is bipartite. As a byproduct, we obtain a simple alternative proof of Tasaki's generalization of the Nagaoka theorem for non-bipartite lattices (but without the uniqueness clause).  相似文献

The Toda lattice hierarchy is shown to have the Bruhat decomposition of the A group as its parameter space instead of the Grassmann manifold for the KP hierarchy. Takasaki's work on the initial value problem for the Toda lattice hierarchy is reinterpreted from this point of view.  相似文献

New calculations to over ten million time steps have revealed a more complex diffusive behavior than previously reported of a point particle on a square and triangular lattice randomly occupied by mirror or rotator scatterers. For the square lattice fully occupied by mirrors where extended closed particle orbits occur, anomalous diffusion was still found. However, for a not fully occupied lattice the superdiffusion, first noticed by Owczarek and Prellberg for a particular concentration, obtains for all concentrations. For the square lattice occupied by rotators and the triangular lattice occupied by mirrors or rotators, an absence of diffusion (trapping) was found for all concentrations, except on critical lines, where anomalous diffusion (extended closed orbits) occurs and hyperscaling holds for all closed orbits withuniversal exponentsd f =7/4 and =15/7. Only one point on these critical lines can be related to a corresponding percolation problem. The questions arise therefore whether the other critical points can be mapped onto a new percolation-like problem and of the dynamical significance of hyperscaling.  相似文献

When directed percolation in a bond percolation process does not occur, any path to infinity on the open bonds will zigzag back and forth through the lattice. Backbends are the portions of the zigzags that go against the percolation direction. They are important in the physical problem of particle transport in random media in the presence of a field, as they act to limit particle flow through the medium. The critical probability for percolation along directed paths with backbends no longer than a given length n is defined as p n. We prove that (p n) is strictly decreasing and converges to the critical probability for undirected percolation p c. We also investigate some variants of the basic model, such as by replacing the standard d-dimensional cubic lattice with a (d–1)-dimensional slab or with a Bethe lattice; and we discuss the mathematical consequences of alternative ways to formalize the physical concepts of percolation and backbend.  相似文献

We perform a Migdal-Kadanoff renormalization group calculation on anO(n) symmetric model on ad-dimensional hypercubic lattice,d=2, 3. We find that in two dimensions the critical fixed point disappears asn=n KT1.96, which is in good agreement with the exact valuen KT=2. In three dimensions the fixed point persists much longer, albeit not all the way up to infinity. Surface critical phenomena in a semiinfiniteO(n) model are also considered.  相似文献

We consider the lattice Schrödinger operator acting onl 2 ( d ) with random potential (independent, identically distributed random variables), supported on a subspace of dimension 1 v <d. We use the multiscale analyses scheme to prove that this operator exhibits exponential localization at the edges of the spectrum for any disorder or outside the interval [-2d, 2d] for sufficiently high disorder.  相似文献

We present a field-theoretic renormalization-group study for the critical behavior of a uniformly driven diffusive system with quenched disorder, which is modeled by different kinds of potential barriers between sites. Due to their symmetry properties, these different realizations of the random potential barriers lead to three different models for the phase transition to transverse order and to one model for the phase transition to longitudinal order all belonging to distinct universality classes. In these four models, which have different upper critical dimensions d c, we find the critical scaling behavior of the vertex functions in spatial dimensions d<d c. The deviation from purely diffusive behavior is characterized by the anomaly exponent , which we calculate at first and second order, respectively, in =d cd. In each model turns out to be positive, which means superdiffusive spread of density fluctuations in the driving force direction.  相似文献

The central limit theorem of Cushen and Hudson is reformulated on the algebra of the CCR. Namely, for a gauge invariant state , the weighted convolutions n of the central limit tend to the quasi-free reduction Q of pointwise. We study a model for the backbone of proteins on a square lattice which consists of the path traced out by a self-avoiding walk (SAW) on the lattice and bridges not belonging to sites on the SAW but connecting nearest neighbor sites of the SAW. This paper is concerned with the numerical simulation of a random walk in a random environment in dimension d = 2. Consider a nearest neighbor random walk on the 2-dimensional integer lattice. The transition probabilities at each site are assumed to be themselves random variables, but fixed for all time. This is the random environment. Consider a parallel strip of radius R centered on an axis through the origin. Let X R be the probability that the walk that started at the origin exits the strip through one of the boundary lines. Then X R is a random variable, depending on the environment. In dimension d = 1, the variable X R converges in distribution to the Bernoulli variable, X = 0, 1 with equal probability, as R . Constraints on the whole spectrum of lepton flavor violating vertices are shown in the context of the standard two Higgs doublet model. The vertex involving the e- mixing is much more constrained than the others, and the decays proportional to such a vertex are usually very suppressed. On the other hand, bounds on the quark sector are obtained from leptonic decays of the Bd,s0 mesons and from . The asymmetric directed-bond percolation (ADBP) problem with an asymmetry parameterk is introduced and some rigorous results are given concerning a series expansion of the percolation probability on the square lattice. It is shown that the first correction term,d n,1 (k) is expressed by Gauss' hypergeometric series with a variablek. Since the ADBP includes the ordinary directed bond percolation as a special case withk=1, our results give another proof for the Baxter-Guttmann's conjecture thatd n,1(1) is given by the Catalan number, which was recently proved by Bousquet-Mélou. Direct calculations on finite lattices are performed and combining them with the present results determines the first 14 terms of the series expansion for percolation probability of the ADBP on the square lattice. The analysis byDlog Padé approximations suggests that the critical value depends onk, while asymmetry does not change the critical exponent of percolation probability.  相似文献

Thed-dimensional random Cantor set is a generalization of the classical middle-thirds Cantor set. Starting with the unit cube [0, 1] d , at every stage of the construction we divide each cube remaining intoM d equal subcubes, and select each of these at random with probabilityp. The resulting limit set is a random fractal, which may be crossed by paths or (d–1)-dimensional sheets. We examine the critical probabilityp s(M, d) marking the existence of these sheet crossings, and show that ps(M,d)1–pc(M d) asM, where pc(M d) is the critical probability of site percolation on the lattice (M d) obtained by adding the diagonal edges to the hypercubic lattice d. This result is then used to show that, at least for sufficiently large values ofM, the phases corresponding to the existence of path and sheet crossings are distinct.  相似文献
