Preparation and characterization of tetrasubstituted zinc(II) phthalocyanines in which sulfur is not linked to the macrocycle are reported herein for the first time. Thioacetic acid S-[3-(3,4-dicyano-phenoxy)-propyl]ester (4) was synthesized in 55% yield from 4-nitrophthalonitrile and thioacetic acid S-(3-hydroxy-propyl)ester (3). Tetrasusbtituted thiol-derivatized zinc(II) phthalocyanine 5 was obtained from 4 and zinc acetate in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene in butanol. Treatment of 5 with sodium methoxide afforded phthalocyanine 6. 相似文献

The photophysical properties, such as the UV-vis absorption spectra, triplet transient difference absorption spectra, triplet excited-state extinction coefficients, quantum yields of the triplet excited state, and lifetimes of the triplet excited state, of 10 novel zinc phthalocyanine derivatives with mono- or tetraperipheral substituents have been systematically investigated in DMSO solution. All these complexes exhibit a wide optical window in the visible spectral range and display long triplet excited-state lifetimes (140-240 mus). It has been found that the complexes with tetrasubstituents at the alpha-positions exhibit a bathochromic shift in their UV-vis absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, and triplet transient difference absorption spectra and have larger triplet excited-state absorption coefficients. The nonlinear absorption of these complexes has been investigated using the Z-scan technique. It is revealed that all complexes exhibit a strong reverse saturable absorption at 532 nm for nanosecond and picosecond laser pulses. The excited-state absorption cross sections were determined through a theoretical fitting of the experimental data using a five-band model. The complexes with tetrasubstituents at the alpha-positions exhibit larger ratios of triplet excited-state absorption to ground-state absorption cross sections (sigma T/sigma g) than the other complexes. In addition, the wavelength-dependent nonlinear absorption of these complexes was studied in the range of 470-550 nm with picosecond laser pulses. All complexes exhibit reverse saturable absorption in a broad visible spectral range for picosecond laser pulses. Finally, the nonlinear transmission behavior of these complexes for nanosecond laser pulses was demonstrated at 532 nm. All complexes, and especially the four alpha-tetrasubstituted complexes, exhibit stronger reverse saturable absorption than unsubstituted zinc phthalocyanines due to the larger ratio of their excited-state absorption cross sections to their respective ground-state absorption cross sections. 相似文献

The effect of introduction of perfluoro alkyl groups into phthalocyanines, as evidenced by the spectroscopic properties of 1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25-octa-fluoro-2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octa-perfluoro isopropyl zinc phthalocyanine, ZnF(64)Pc(-2) and its ring-reduced radical anion species, [ZnF(64)Pc(-3)](-), are reported. A combination of UV-visible absorption and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectroscopy, ESI and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry, and complete theoretical calculations using INDO/S and DFT techniques reveals that the substitution of all sixteen hydrogen atoms in protio ZnPc(-2) by eight F and eight i-C(3)F(7) groups red shifts the Q and pi --> pi transitions and narrows the HOMO-LUMO gap while simultaneously preventing ring photooxidation and stabilizing the radical anion. The [ZnF(64)Pc(-3)](-) species, which is in equilibrium in solution with the neutral complex when a reducing agent is present, is unusually stable. The above effects are attributed to the strong electron withdrawing properties of the peripheral substituents, which render ZnF(64)Pc extremely electron deficient. 相似文献

Photochemical and photophysical measurements were conducted on peripheral and non-peripheral tetrakis- and octakis(4-benzyloxyphenoxy)-substituted zinc phthalocyanines (1, 2 and 3). General trends are described for photodegradation, and fluorescence quantum yields, triplet lifetimes and triplet quantum yields as well as singlet oxygen quantum yields of these compounds in dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) and toluene. The fluorescence of the complexes is quenched by benzoquinone (BQ), and fluorescence quenching properties are investigated in DMSO and toluene. The effects of the solvents on the photophysical and photochemical parameters of the zinc(II) phthalocyanines (1, 2 and 3) are also reported. The effects of the substitution on the photophysical and photochemical parameters of the zinc(II) phthalocyanines (6, 7 and 8) are also reported. Photophysical and photochemical properties of phthalocyanine complexes are very useful for PDT applications. The substituted Zn(II) phthalocyanines showed high triplet and singlet oxygen quantum yields. High singlet oxygen quantum yields are very important for Type II mechanism. We have studied the energy transfer properties of a novel silicon phthalocyanine that coordinates two anthracene-9-carboxylate groups in the form of trans axial ligands. Our objectives were to generate a system with auxiliary chromophores that enhance the light absorption properties of the macrocycle in a specific region in the UV and to evaluate the efficiency and time scales for energy transfer. The ligand coordination through a carboxylate group directly attached to the anthracenic system allows for close proximity of the donor and acceptor chromophores. The energy transfer process was observed to be nearly 100% efficient and to occur on a time scale of 370 fs. From the energy relations of the donor and acceptor states and the observed dynamics, the initial energy transfer step is likely to involve upper electronic states of the phthalocyanine rather than the states of the lowest-energy vibroelectronic Q bands. 相似文献

Tetrakis(aryloxy)phthalocyanine (4c) and its Zn congeners (4a and 4b) and Ni congener (4d) were synthesized, and their self-assembling properties in coordinating and non-coordinating solvents were investigated by absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Compounds 4a and 4b in non-coordinating solvents exhibit red-shifted and split Q-bands in absorption spectra even at very low concentrations, suggesting J-aggregate formation. The MALDI-TOF MS for the samples of 4a and 4b prepared from chloroform solutions gives the monomer and aggregate signals. The TEM images of such samples display an indefinite two-dimensional network structure. The aggregates break up into monomers when a coordinating solvent is added to the solution. The driving force for the aggregate formation is proposed to be the complementary coordination of the ether oxygen in the aryloxy groups of one molecule to the core Zn of another molecule of phthalocyanine. 相似文献

The efficiency of the sensitizing action of photocatalysts prepared from montmorillonite modified by a cationic surfactant and treated with aluminum and zinc phthalocyanines was studied. The rates and quantum yields of acceptor (9,10-diphenylanthracene) consumption upon irradiation with the visible light of poly(methyl methacrylate) films and dispersions in toluene containing the photocatalysts were determined. The quantum yields of singlet oxygen generation were estimated on the basis of these data. The influence of the medium and concentration of phthalocyanines on the spectral characteristics of the photocatalysts was considered. 相似文献

Dicyanophthalates 3 were synthesized via Pd-catalyzed two-fold cyanation of the corresponding 4,5-dichlorophthalates with Zn(CN)2. Appropriate modification of reaction conditions allowed one-pot synthesis of the corresponding zinc phthalocyanines 7 bearing eight peripheral alkyl ester groups. Powder X-ray diffraction study of a mesogenic zinc phthalocyanine bearing branched alkyl substituents revealed a rare case of a transition between two columnar rectangular liquid crystalline mesophases with different symmetry. 相似文献

The novel zinc phthalocyanine (3) with malonylester and chloro groups on each benzo unit was synthesized from 4-diethoxymalonyl-5-chloro-phthalonitrile (1). The unsymmetrically substituted zinc phthalocyanine (5), carrying hexylthio, malonylester and chloro groups at the periphery, was obtained from 4-diethoxymalonyl-5-chloro-phthalonitrile (1) and 4,5-bis-hexylsulfanyl-phthalonitrile (2) by a statistical condensation method as an A3B type unsymmetrical phthalocyanine compound. Transesterification of the malonyl esters of the new symmetrical and unsymmetrical phthalocyanines occurred during the cyclotetramerization of dinitriles with Zn(CH3COO)2 in 1-pentanol in the presence of DBU. Octa-hexylthio-substituted zinc phthalocyanine (4) was prepared according to the literature. The photophysical and thermal properties of all the phthalocyanine complexes are described for the first time. These novel symmetrical and unsymmetrical phthalocyanine macrocycles have been characterized by a series of spectroscopic methods including 1H NMR, electronic absorption, IR and mass spectroscopy, in addition to elemental analysis. Their narrow long wavelength absorption band shows that the bulky substituents on the periphery prevent aggregation. The unsymmetrically substituted phthalocyanine (5) gave a greater fluorescence quantum yield in chloroform than the symmetrical analogues (3 and 4). 相似文献

The absorption, emission and excitation spectra of ZnPc and H(2)Pc trapped in Ne, N(2), Ar, Kr and Xe matrices have been recorded in the region of the Q states. A comparison of the matrix fluorescence spectra with Raman spectra recorded in KBr pellets reveals very strong similarities. This is entirely consistent with the selection rules and points to the occurrence of only fundamental vibrational transitions in the emission spectra. Based on this behaviour, the vibronic modes in emission have been assigned using results obtained recently on the ground state with large basis-set DFT calculations [Murray et al. PCCP, 12, 10406 (2010)]. Furthermore, the very strong mirror symmetry between excitation and emission has allowed these assignments to be extended to the excitation (absorption) bands. While this approach works well for ZnPc, coupling between the band origin of the S(2)(Q(Y)) state and vibrationally excited levels of S(1)(Q(X)), limits the range of its application in H(2)Pc. The Q(X)/Q(Y) state coupling is analysed from data obtained from site-selective excitation spectra, revealing pronounced matrix and site effects. From this analysis, the splitting of the Q(X) and Q(Y) states has been determined more accurately than in any previous attempts. 相似文献

Palladium-catalyzed copper-free Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions were performed on a protected and unprotected monoiodotriglycerol substituted Zn(II) phthalocyanine with various alkynes in organic and aqueous medium. From the silyl protected alkyne derivative, a protected homo coupled dimeric product was also prepared using Glaser coupling. In this paper we describe conversion of light energy into electric energy in a photoelectrochemical cell containing zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) dyes. For all dyes investigated in liquid polyvinyl alcohol with dimethyl sulfoxide solution and located in the photoelectrochemical cell the following measurements have been done: absorption, fluorescence, photoacoustic spectra, photovoltaic spectra, kinetics of photocurrent and current–voltage characteristics. It has been shown that all dyes located in the photoelectrochemical cell are able to convert light into electric energy but with different effectiveness. The influence of substituted different peripheral groups to ZnPc core and the correlation between the molecular structure and effectiveness of solar to electric energy conversion were observed and described. The photophysical, and photochemical properties of titanium, silicon and zinc octacarboxy phthalocyanine (OTiOCPc, (OH)2SiOCPc and ZnOCPc) and their tetrasulfonated counterparts (OTiTSPc, (OH)2SiTSPc and ZnTSPc) in phosphate-buffer solution (PBS), pH 10 were studied. The tetrasulfonated derivatives were also studied in the presence of a surfactant, cremophore EL (CEL) due to their high aggregation tendency in aqueous solutions. Triplet quantum yields ranged from 0.20 to 0.48 for MOCPcs and 0.32–0.65 for MTSPcs in the presence of CEL and in pH 10. High triplet lifetimes were observed for ZnTSPc (270 μs, in the presence of CEL) or ZnOCPc (130 μs) compared to values ranging from 50 to 70 μs for the rest of the complexes. 相似文献
