This paper deals with the Heterogeneous Fleet Vehicle Routing Problem (HFVRP). The HFVRP generalizes the classical Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem by considering the existence of different vehicle types, with distinct capacities and costs. The objective is to determine the best fleet composition as well as the set of routes that minimize the total costs. The proposed hybrid algorithm is composed by an Iterated Local Search (ILS) based heuristic and a Set Partitioning (SP) formulation. The SP model is solved by means of a Mixed Integer Programming solver that interactively calls the ILS heuristic during its execution. The developed algorithm was tested in benchmark instances with up to 360 customers. The results obtained are quite competitive with those found in the literature and new improved solutions are reported.  相似文献

This paper considers a practical variant of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) known as the Heterogeneous Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows and Multiple Products (HVRPTWMP). As the problem is NP-hard, the resolution approach proposed here is a sequential Ant Colony System (ACS)—Tabu Search algorithm. The approach introduces a two pheromone trail strategy to accelerate agents’ (ants) learning process. Its convergence to good solutions is given in terms of fleet size and travel time while completing tours and service to all customers. The proposed procedure uses regency and frequency memories form Tabu Search to further improve the quality of solutions. Experiments are carried out using instances from literature and show the effectiveness of this procedure.  相似文献

We consider the Multi Trip Vehicle Routing Problem, in which a set of geographically scattered customers have to be served by a fleet of vehicles. Each vehicle can perform several trips during the working day. The objective is to minimize the total travel time while respecting temporal and capacity constraints.  相似文献

Effective routing of vehicles remains a focal goal of all modern enterprises, thriving for excellence in project management with minimal investment and operational costs. This paper proposes a metaheuristic methodology for solving a practical variant of the well-known Vehicle Routing Problem, called Heterogeneous Fixed Fleet VRP (HFFVRP). Using a two-phase construction heuristic, called GEneralized ROute Construction Algorithm (GEROCA), the proposed metaheuristic approach enhances its flexibility to easily adopt various operational constraints. Via this approach, two real-life distribution problems faced by a dairy and a construction company were tackled and formulated as HFFVRP. Computational results on the aforementioned case studies show that the proposed metaheuristic approach (a) consistently outperforms previous published metaheuristic approaches we have developed to solve the HFFVRP, and (b) substantially improves upon the current practice of the company. The key result that impressed both companies’ management was the improvement over the bi-objective character of their problems: the minimization of the total distribution cost as well as the minimization of the number of the given heterogeneous number of vehicles used.  相似文献

This paper presents a unified exact method for solving an extended model of the well-known Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP), called the Heterogenous Vehicle Routing Problem (HVRP), where a mixed fleet of vehicles having different capacities, routing and fixed costs is used to supply a set of customers. The HVRP model considered in this paper contains as special cases: the Single Depot CVRP, all variants of the HVRP presented in the literature, the Site-Dependent Vehicle Routing Problem (SDVRP) and the Multi-Depot Vehicle Routing Problem (MDVRP). This paper presents an exact algorithm for the HVRP based on the set partitioning formulation. The exact algorithm uses three types of bounding procedures based on the LP-relaxation and on the Lagrangean relaxation of the mathematical formulation. The bounding procedures allow to reduce the number of variables of the formulation so that the resulting problem can be solved by an integer linear programming solver. Extensive computational results over the main instances from the literature of the different variants of HVRPs, SDVRP and MDVRP show that the proposed lower bound is superior to the ones presented in the literature and that the exact algorithm can solve, for the first time ever, several test instances of all problem types considered.   相似文献

This paper deals with the Heterogeneous Fleet Vehicle Routing Problem (HFVRP). The HFVRP is $\mathcal{NP}$ -hard since it is a generalization of the classical Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), in which clients are served by a heterogeneous fleet of vehicles with distinct capacities and costs. The objective is to design a set of routes in such a way that the sum of the costs is minimized. The proposed algorithm is based on the Iterated Local Search (ILS) metaheuristic which uses a Variable Neighborhood Descent procedure, with a random neighborhood ordering (RVND), in the local search phase. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first ILS approach for the HFVRP. The developed heuristic was tested on well-known benchmark instances involving 20, 50, 75 and 100 customers. These test-problems also include dependent and/or fixed costs according to the vehicle type. The results obtained are quite competitive when compared to other algorithms found in the literature.  相似文献

This paper presents an adaptive memory-based method for solving the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP), called BoneRoute. The CVRP deals with the problem of finding the optimal sequence of deliveries conducted by a fleet of homogeneous vehicles, based at one depot, to serve a set of customers. The computational performance of the BoneRoute was found to be very efficient, producing high quality solutions over two sets of well known case studies examined.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new variant of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), namely the Two-Stage Vehicle Routing Problem with Arc Time Windows (TS_VRP_ATWs) which generally emerges from both military and civilian transportation. The TS_VRP_ATW is defined as finding the vehicle routes in such a way that each arc of the routes is available only during a predefined time interval with the objective of overall cost minimization. We propose a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) formulation and a heuristic approach based on Memetic Algorithm (MA) to solve the TS_VRP_ATW. The qualities of both solution approaches are measured by using the test problems in the literature. Experimental results show that the proposed MIP formulation provides the optimal solutions for the test problems with 25 and 50 nodes, and some test problems with 100 nodes. Results also show that the proposed MA is promising quality solutions in a short computation time.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a rich vehicle routing problem incorporating various complexities found in real-life applications. The General Vehicle Routing Problem (GVRP) is a combined load acceptance and generalised vehicle routing problem. Among the real-life requirements are time window restrictions, a heterogeneous vehicle fleet with different travel times, travel costs and capacity, multi-dimensional capacity constraints, order/vehicle compatibility constraints, orders with multiple pickup, delivery and service locations, different start and end locations for vehicles, and route restrictions for vehicles. The GVRP is highly constrained and the search space is likely to contain many solutions such that it is impossible to go from one solution to another using a single neighbourhood structure. Therefore, we propose iterative improvement approaches based on the idea of changing the neighbourhood structure during the search.  相似文献

The basic Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) consists of computing a set of trips of minimum total cost, to deliver fixed amounts of goods to customers with a fleet of identical vehicles. Few papers address the case with several types of vehicles (heterogeneous fleet). Most of them assume an unlimited number of vehicles of each type, to dimension the fleet from a strategic point of view. This paper tackles the more realistic tactical or operational case, with a fixed number of vehicles of each type, and the optional possibility for each vehicle to perform several trips. It describes several heuristics, including a very efficient one that progressively merges small starting trips, while ensuring that they can be performed by the fleet. This heuristic seeks to minimize the number of required vehicles as a secondary objective. It outperforms classical VRP heuristics, can easily handle various constraints, and gives very good initial solutions for a tabu search method. The real case of a French manufacturer of furniture with 775 destination stores is presented.  相似文献

The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) requires the determination of an optimal set of routes for a set of vehicles to serve a set of customers. We deal here with the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) where there is a maximum weight or volume that each vehicle can load. We developed an Ant Colony algorithm (ACO) for the CVRP based on the metaheuristic technique introduced by Colorni, Dorigo and Maniezzo. We present preliminary results that show that ant algorithms are competitive with other metaheuristics for solving CVRP.  相似文献

The Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows consists of computing a minimum cost set of routes for a fleet of vehicles of limited capacity visiting a given set of customers with known demand, with the additional constraint that each customer must be visited in a specified time window. We consider the case in which time window constraints are relaxed into “soft” constraints, that is penalty terms are added to the solution cost whenever a vehicle serves a customer outside of his time window. We present a branch-and-price algorithm which is the first exact optimization algorithm for this problem.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to solve a real-world problem proposed by an international company operating in Spain and modeled as a variant of the Open Vehicle Routing Problem in which the makespan, i.e., the maximum time spent on the vehicle by one person, must be minimized. A competitive multi-start algorithm, able to obtain high quality solutions within reasonable computing time is proposed. The effectiveness of the algorithm is analyzed through computational testing on a set of 19 school-bus routing benchmark problems from the literature, and on 9 hard real-world problem instances.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Cumulative Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CCVRP), which is a variation of the well-known Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP). In this problem, the traditional objective of minimizing total distance or time traveled by the vehicles is replaced by minimizing the sum of arrival times at the customers. We propose a branch-and-cut-and-price algorithm for obtaining optimal solutions to the problem. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first published exact algorithm for the CCVRP. We present computational results based on a set of standard CVRP benchmarks and investigate the effect of modifying the number of vehicles available.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to present a new algorithmic methodology for the heterogeneous fixed fleet vehicle routeing problem (HFFVRP). HFFVRP consists of determining the minimum cost routes for a fleet of vehicles in order to satisfy the demand of the customer population. The fleet composition is fixed and consists of various types of vehicles that differ with respect to their maximum carrying load and variable cost per distance unit. Our proposed algorithm called guided tabu search (GTS) is based on tabu search controlled by a continuous guiding mechanism that modifies the objective function of the problem. The role of this guiding strategy is to diversify the conducted search and help it overcome local optima encountered. The GTS method was applied successfully on HFFVRP benchmark problems producing best-known and new best-known solutions in short computational times.  相似文献

In the Fleet Size and Mix Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (FSMVRPTW) customers need to be serviced in their time windows at minimal costs by a heterogeneous fleet. In this paper new heuristics for the FSMVRPTW are developed. The performance of the heuristics is shown to be significantly higher than that of any previous heuristic approach and therefore likely to achieve better solutions to practical routing problems.  相似文献

The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) consists of finding the cheapest way to serve a set of customers with a fleet of vehicles of a given capacity. While serving a particular customer, each vehicle picks up its demand and carries its weight throughout the rest of its route. While costs in the classical CVRP are measured in terms of a given arc distance, the Cumulative Vehicle Routing Problem (CmVRP) is a variant of the problem that aims to minimize total energy consumption. Each arc’s energy consumption is defined as the product of the arc distance by the weight accumulated since the beginning of the route. The purpose of this work is to propose several different formulations for the CmVRP and to study their Linear Programming (LP) relaxations. In particular, the goal is to study formulations based on combining an arc-item concept (that keeps track of whether a given customer has already been visited when traversing a specific arc) with another formulation from the recent literature, the Arc-Load formulation (that determines how much load goes through an arc). Both formulations have been studied independently before – the Arc-Item is very similar to a multi-commodity-flow formulation in Letchford and Salazar-González (2015) and the Arc-Load formulation has been studied in Fukasawa et al. (2016) – and their LP relaxations are incomparable. Nonetheless, we show that a formulation combining the two (called Arc-Item-Load) may lead to a significantly stronger LP relaxation, thereby indicating that the two formulations capture complementary aspects of the problem. In addition, we study how set partitioning based formulations can be combined with these formulations. We present computational experiments on several well-known benchmark instances that highlight the advantages and drawbacks of the LP relaxation of each formulation and point to potential avenues of future research.  相似文献

Time dependent vehicle routing problem with a multi ant colony system   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
The Time Dependent Vehicle Routing Problem (TDVRP) consists in optimally routing a fleet of vehicles of fixed capacity when travel times are time dependent, in the sense that the time employed to traverse each given arc, depends on the time of the day the travel starts from its originating node. The optimization method consists in finding solutions that minimize two hierarchical objectives: the number of tours and the total travel time.

The heterogeneous fixed fleet vehicle routing problem (HFFVRP) is a variant of the standard vehicle routing problem (VRP), in which the vertices have to be served using a fixed number of vehicles that could be different in size and fixed or variable costs. In this article, we propose an integer linear programming-based heuristic approach in order to solve the HFFVRP that could be used as a complementary tool to improve the performance of the existing methods of solving this problem. Computational results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献
