An analytical method is developed to study the two-mode quantum Rabi model. For certain specific parameter conditions, especially for the resonant conditions, we obtain an infinite number of the exact solutions of the eigenfunctions and associated energies. It is shown that there exist new types of the exact energies which do not correspond to the level-crossings. Our analytical method may find applications in some related models. 相似文献

We propose a quantum optical method to do the subwavelength lithography. Our method is similar to the traditional lithography but adding a critical step before dissociating the chemical bound of the photoresist. The subwavelength pattern is achieved by inducing the multi-Rabi oscillation between the two atomic levels. The proposed method does not require multiphoton absorption and the entanglement of photons. It is expected to be realizable using current technology. 相似文献

Rabi oscillations in coherent optical excitations in bulk GaAs and quantum dot two-level systems may be converted into deterministic photocurrents, with the impurities or dots providing the tag for each qubit. Here we perform a theoretical analysis of the damping of Rabi oscillations in two-level semiconductor systems. Present calculations, through optical Bloch equations on excitonic two-level InxGa1−xAs quantum-dot systems, are found in good agreement with the corresponding experimental data. Calculated results indicate that the nature underlying the dephasing mechanism associated to the damping of the measured Rabi oscillations, which has previously remained as an open question, may be associated with a field-dependent recombination rate related to the inhomogeneous broadening of the excitonic lines in the InxGa1−xAs two-level QD system. 相似文献

We show that propagation of optical beams in periodic lattices induces power oscillations between the Fourier spectrum peaks, with the indices related by the Bragg resonance condition. In the spatial coordinates, this is reflected in the beam position oscillations. A simple resonant theory explains the phenomenon. The effect can be used for controlled generation of the Floquet-Bloch modes in photonic lattices. 相似文献

In the strong-coupling limit, the nonlinear dynamics of interaction of two-level atoms with their own emission field in a cavity with a periodically modulated length was studied. An analytical analysis was made that shows the appearance of regions in the pseudophase space of Maxwell-Bloch equations that are responsible for the origin of dynamic chaos for the smallest possible modulation depth, and the homoclinic mechanism of their formation was revealed. In the model of a Rydberg maser with a modulated cavity, a special type of chaos was numerically discovered. This chaos, which was called structural, manifests itself under certain conditions in parametric oscillations of atomic population. On the one hand, these Rabi oscillations demonstrate sensitivity to initial conditions with a positive maximum Lyapunov exponent, and, on the other hand, they represent a signal with a long-term structure that is caused by modulation. 相似文献

We have designed and operated a circuit based on a large-area current-biased Josephson junction whose two lowest energy quantum levels are used to implement a solid-state qubit. The circuit allows measurement of the qubit states with a fidelity of 85% while providing sufficient decoupling from external sources of relaxation and decoherence to allow coherent manipulation of the qubit state, as demonstrated by the observation of Rabi oscillations. This qubit circuit is the basis of a scalable quantum computer. 相似文献

We observe large-amplitude Rabi oscillations between an atomic and a molecular state near a Feshbach resonance. The experiment uses 87Rb in an optical lattice and a Feshbach resonance near 414 G. The frequency and amplitude of the oscillations depend on the magnetic field in a way that is well described by a two-level model. The observed density dependence of the oscillation frequency agrees with theoretical expectations. We confirmed that the state produced after a half-cycle contains exactly one molecule at each lattice site. In addition, we show that, for energies in a gap of the lattice band structure, the molecules cannot dissociate. 相似文献

Transient nonlinear optical spectroscopy, performed on excitons confined to single GaAs quantum dots, shows oscillations that are analogous to Rabi oscillations in two-level atomic systems. This demonstration corresponds to a one-qubit rotation in a single quantum dot which is important for proposals using quantum dot excitons for quantum computing. The dipole moment inferred from the data is consistent with that directly obtained from linear absorption studies. The measurement extends the artificial atom model of quantum dot excitonic transitions into the strong-field limit, and makes possible full coherent optical control of the quantum state of single excitons using optical pi pulses. 相似文献

The influence of local fields on the excitonic Rabi oscillations in an isolated, arbitrary shaped quantum dot (QD) has been theoretically investigated. QD interaction with both a classical electromagnetic field and quantum light has been considered. In the classical light, time harmonic and ultrashort pulse excitations are analyzed. The general formalism has been formulated for quantum light and applied to the case of a Fock qubit. Noticeable modification of the Rabi oscillation dynamics induced by the local fields is predicted to be observable in QDs exposed to both classical and quantum light. In particular, the bifurcation and anharmonism in the Rabi oscillations have been revealed under time harmonic excitation and a dependence of the Rabi oscillation period on the QD depolarization has been obtained. 相似文献
