We report measurements of the low-temperature thermal conductivity of YBa2Cu3O7– (0.1) single crystals (T c =84 K) both parallel ( a, b ) and perpendicular ( c ) to the CuO2 planes. Whereas c (T) is found to be identical, within experimental resolution, with the phonon contribution ph (T), a, b (T) contains an additional term linear in temperature,AT. We ascribeAT to the contribution of unpaired electronic carriers residing in the chain layers. Measurements performed in external magnetic fieldsB8 T support this interpretation. Our observations can be explained by an internal multilayer (IML) model in which it is assumed that strong superconductivity is generated within the CuO2 layers and weak superconductivity is induced in the chain layers by the proximity effect. The fit of the experimental results to the IML model reveals that approximately 15% of the electronic carriers remain unpaired in YBa2Cu3O7 belowT=1 K.  相似文献

We give a rigorous proof of power-law falloff in the Kosterlitz-Thouless phase of a two-dimensional Coulomb gas in the sense that there exists a critical inverse temperaturegb and a constant >0 such that for all> and all external charges R we have , whereG (x) is the two-point external charges correlation function,=dist(, Z), and for 0$$ " align="middle" border="0"> . In the case of a hard-core or standard Coulomb gas with activityz, we may choose=(z) such that(z)24 asz0.  相似文献

We consider the expectation of the determinant det(–X)–1for Im >0 associated with some random N×Nmatrices and factorize it into NStieltjes transforms of probability measures. Moreover, using this factorization, we investigate the limiting behavior of the logarithm of the quantity as N.  相似文献

The strength of Einstein's empty-space field equations is computed anew and shown to be equal to the amount of initial data required for a local solution of the equations. This same amount of initial data is shown to be precisely that required for a set of 16 unknown first-order differential equations containing 10 field variables and having six identities of second order. The 10 field variables must be functions of second order in the metric coefficients. The 16 field equationsC , = 0 whereC is Weyl's conformal tensor, are shown to have the same properties as those of the unknown equations, suggesting thatC = 0 is a satisfactory local first-order formulation of Einstein's second-order empty-space field equations.  相似文献

We consider unitary analogs of d-dimensional Anderson models on l2( $$\mathbb(z)$$d) defined by the product U=D S where S is a deterministic unitary and D is a diagonal matrix of i.i.d. random phases. The operator S is an absolutely continuous band matrix which depends on parameters controlling the size of its off-diagonal elements. We adapt the method of Aizenman–Molchanov to get exponential estimates on fractional moments of the matrix elements of U(Uz)–1, provided the distribution of phases is absolutely continuous and the parameters correspond to small off-diagonal elements of S. Such estimates imply almost sure localization for U.  相似文献

In the simplest coupling of a harmonic oscillator with a massless boson field, we show that a family of coupling functions leads to resonances or bound-states of the form E n1 n0()=n 1 z 1()+n 0 z 0(), where z 1(), z 0() are in and n 1, n 0 are any nonnegative integers. This holds for arbitrary values of the coupling constant.  相似文献

Kaonic atom experiments suggest existence of a narrow nuclear¯K bound state and indicate blocking of¯K absorption. This blocking is explained in terms of 0 resonance and interactions with the nuclear density gradient.Presented at the symposium Mesons and Light Nuclei, Bechyn, Czechoslovakia, May 27–June 1, 1985.  相似文献

Recently, considerable progress has been made in understanding the nature of the algebro-geometrical superposition principles for the solutions of nonlinear completely integrable evolution equations, and mainly for the equations related to hyperelliptic Riemann surfaces. Here we find such a superposition formula for particular real solutions of the KP and Boussinesq equations related to the nonhyperelliptic curve 4 = ( – E 1) ( – E 2) ( – E 3) ( – E 4). It is shown that the associated Riemann theta function may be decomposed into a sum containing two terms, each term being the product of three one-dimensional theta functions. The space and time variables of the KP and Boussinesq equations enter into the arguments of these one-dimensional theta functions in a linear way.On leave from Leningrad State University and Leningrad Institute of Aviation Instrumentation.  相似文献

Following Bondi static, spherically symmetric equilibrium configurations with a core and an envelope have been considered. It has been shown that for any configurations with nonnegative pressure and density and with a surface red-shiftz s 4.77 arbitrarily large central red-shiftsz c are possible in the limiting case of arbitrarily large radius. The effects of imposition of further constraints in the form of a real speed of sound not exceeding the speed of light are also examined. It is seen that for a given limiting sound-to-light-speed ratio . (i) There exists a limiting surface red-shiftz s() 1.71. (ii) A configuration withz s >z s() is not possible, (iii) A configuration withz s=z s() has a unique and finitez c=z c(). (iv) Forz s<z s() arbitrarily large central red-shifts can be obtained for configurations with arbitrarily large radii.  相似文献

Intermittency and multifractality characterizing the presence of dynamical fluctuations are analysed in terms of self-similar processes of Cantor type involving the continuous spectrum of singularities. The fundamental properties of the intermittency slopes q as well as of the strength q and the densityf q , of singularities depending on the order parameterq are established. It is also argued here that the intermittency arisen owing to those self-similar processes leads to such anomalous fractal dimensions and density of singularities which hardly satisfy the assumptions allowing the interpretation of intermittency in terms of thermal as well as non-thermal phase transitions. Four concrete cases are discussed in the present contribution: the e+ e annihilations at s=29 GeV, the ¯pp interactions at s=1800 GeV, the collisions of 200 GeV/ nucleon160 beams with the12C nuclei and the197Au nuclei of energy 1 GeV/ nucleon break up into fragments when interacting with the nuclear emulsion. The corresponding data published so far reveal the fundamental properties following from the aforementioned processes with great accuracy. The author expresses his thanks to M. Markytan, H. Dibon and W. Kittel for fruitful discussions and F. Rimondi for providing him with the preliminary ¯pp data.  相似文献

We report the results of a computer simulation of the critical relaxation of the magnetization in the two-dimensional Ising model with nonmagnetic impurity atoms frozen at the lattice sites. We assume a square lattice of dimension 4002 with spin concentrationsp=1.0, 0.95, 0.9, 0.85, 0.8, 0.75, 0.7. The Monte Carlo and dynamic renormalization group methods are used to determine the dynamical critical indexz as a function ofp: z(p): z(1)=2.24±0.07,z(0.95)=2.24±0.06,z(0.85)=2.38±0.05,z(0.8)=2.51±0.06,z(0.75)=2.66±0.07,z(0.7)=2.88±0.06. It is shown thatz(p) obeys a singular scaling law of the formz=A | ln (p–p c) |+B withA=0.56±0.07,B=1.62±0.07.Omsk State University. The generally covariant Lagrangian densityG = + 2K matter of the Hamiltonian principle in general relativity, formulated by Einstein and Hilbert, can be interpreted as a functional of the potentialsg ikand of the gravitational and matter fields. In this general relativistic interpretation, the Riemann-Christoffel form kl i = kl i for the coefficients kl i of the affine connections is postulated a priori. Alternatively, we can interpret the LagrangianG as a functional of , gik, and the coefficients kl i . Then the kl i are determined by the Palatini equations. From these equations and from the symmetry kl i = lk i for all matter fields with /=0 the Christoffel symbols again result. However, for Dirac's bispinor fields, / becomes dependent on the Dirac current, essentially with a coupling factor Khc. In this case, the Palatini equations define a new transport rule for the spinor fields, according to which a second universal interaction results for the Dirac spinors, besides Einstein's gravitation. The generally covariant Dirac wave equations become the general relativistic nonlinear Heisenberg wave equations, and the second universal interaction is given by a Fermi-like interaction term of the V-A type. The geometrically induced Fermi constant is, however, very small and of the order 10–81erg cm3  相似文献

New experimental results on the coherentK L 0 C K S 0 C regeneration in the momentum range 10p30 GeV/c are presented. For the quantity (f 0¯f 0/k (where f0 and¯f 0 are theKC and¯K 0C forward scattering amplitudes andk is the wave number) we have obtained: arg (f 0¯f 0)/k=–126±14 and ¦(f 0¯f 0/k¦ p –0.62±0.14 These results are well described by a simple Regge pole model including only the (-trajectory exchange in thet-channel with the intercept (0) close to 0.4.Presented at the IV International Symposium on High Energy and Elementary Particle Physics, Warszaw, September 1975.  相似文献

The effects of surfaces on percolation are investigated near the bulk percolation threshold ind=6– dimensions. Using field-theoretic methods, this is done within the framework of a semi-infinite continuousq-state Potts model withq1. Renormalization-group equations are obtained which imply that the usual scaling laws for surface and bulk exponents are valid to all orders in , and the surface exponents at the ordinary and special transition are computed to order . Our result for 1 ord is in conformity with the one by Carton.  相似文献

Given a Riemannian structure (M, g), a hypothesis is investigated that if= p=0 n p (M) is submitted to the differential condition (g++)=0, =mc/—which implies that each component of fulfills the Klein-Gordon equation (- 2) p =0, ought to be interpreted as a natural complex of the bosonic fields. Then it is found that the complex admits the interpretation in the sense of first quantization with (M) being a convex set of states, with the structure of a Hilbert space over . The definite spin states of bosons are then pure states which are not conserved by the temporal evolution.  相似文献

We consider the 0 limit of the quantum dynamics generated by the HamiltonianH()=–(2/2m)+V. We prove that the evolution of certain Gaussian states is determined asymptotically as 0 by classical mechanics. For suitable potentialsV inn3 dimensions, our estimates are uniform in time and our results hold for scattering theory.Supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant PHY 78-08066  相似文献

If X is a bihamiltonian vector field tangent to a foliation which is Lagrangian with respect to both symplectic structures, the dynamical system x=X(x) implies a local Lax equation =[L, B], but in canonical adapted coordinates, this equation reduces to the trivial equation =0.  相似文献

A variety of rigorous inequalities for critical exponents is proved. Most notable is the low-temperature Josephson inequalitydv +2 2–. Others are 1 1 +v, 1 1 , 1,d 1 + 1/ (for d),dv, 3 + (for d), 4 , and 2m 2m+2 (form 2). The hypotheses vary; all inequalities are true for the spin-1/2 Ising model with nearest-neighbor ferromagnetic pair interactions.NSF Predoctoral Fellow (1976–1979). Letu() be an absolutely integrable function and define the random process where thet i are Poisson arrivals and thes i, are identically distributed nonnegative random variables. Under routine independence assumptions, one may then calculate a formula for the spectrum ofn(t), S n(), in terms of the probability density ofs, ps(). If any probability density ps() having the property ps() I for small is substituted into this formula, the calculated Sn() is such that Sn() 1 for small . However, this is not a spectrum of a well-defined random process; here, it is termed alimit spectrum. If a probability density having the property ps() for small , where > 0, is substituted into the formula instead, a spectrum is calculated which is indeed the spectrum of a well-defined random process. Also, if the latter ps is suitably close to the former ps, then the spectrum in the second case approximates, to an arbitrary, degree of accuracy, the limit spectrum. It is shown how one may thereby have 1/f noise with low-frequency turnover, and also strict 1/f 1– noise (the latter spectrum being integrable for > 0). Suitable examples are given. Actually, u() may be itself a random process, and the theory is developed on this basis.  相似文献

We prove that for any diophantine rotation angle and a.e. phase the almost Mathieu operator (H()) n = n–1 + n+1 +cos(2(+n)) n has pure point spectrum with exponentially decaying eigenfunctions for 15. We also prove the existence of some pure point spectrum for any 5.4.  相似文献
