In this paper the persistence of bounded solutions to degenerate evolution equations of Sobolev-Galpern type is discussed. In order to define the evolution operator well, we study the existence and uniqueness of solutions to its linear form. On this basis we discuss exponential dichotomies of the evolution operator and give the Fredholm alternative result for bounded solutions of nonhomogeneous linear degenerate equations. This result enables us to give a condition for the persistence of bounded solutions of a general degenerate nonlinear autonomous equation under a nonautonomous perturbation.  相似文献

Initial–boundary value problems for 2D Navier–Stokes equations posed on bounded and unbounded rectangles as well as on bounded and unbounded smooth domains were considered. We study the representation for functions of shift operator acting upon bounded sequences of elements of a Banach space. An estimate is obtained for the bounded solution of a linear difference equation in the Banach space. For two types of differential equations in Banach spaces, we present sufficient conditions for their bounded solutions to be limits of bounded solutions of the corresponding difference equations and establish estimates for the rate of convergence.  相似文献

We are interested in the third-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) which are related to the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation. So-called steady solutions of the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation are known to admit several types; for example, bounded global solutions or periodic solutions. We show that, in addition to these, there exist solutions which blow up on bounded intervals. Moreover, for certain classes of these ODEs, the nonexistence of nontrivial bounded entire solutions is exhibited.  相似文献

A celebrated result by Favard states that, for certain almost periodic linear differential systems, the existence of a bounded solution implies the existence of an almost periodic solution. A key assumption in this result is the separation among bounded solutions. Here we prove a theorem of anti-Favard type: if there are bounded solutions which are non-separated (in a strong sense) sometimes almost periodic solutions do not exist. Strongly non-separated solutions appear when the associated homogeneous system has homoclinic solutions. This point of view unifies two fascinating examples by Zhikov-Levitan and Johnson for the scalar case. Our construction uses the ideas of Zhikov-Levitan together with the theory of characters in topological groups.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to study a nonlinear system modeling a Non-Newtonian fluid of polymer aqueous solutions. We are interested here in the existence of weak solutions for the stationary problem in a bounded plane domain or in two-dimensional exterior domain. Due to the third order of derivatives in the non-linear term, it’s difficult to obtain solutions satisfying energy inequality. But with a good choice of boundary conditions, an adapted special basis and the use of the good properties of the trilinear form associated to the non-linear term, we obtain energy solutions. The problem in bounded domains is treated and the more difficult problem on non bounded domains too.  相似文献

We study the asymptotics and existence of nonzero bounded solutions of the Schrödinger equation on the half-line with potential that implicitly depends on the wave function via a nonlinear second-order ordinary differential equation. In this paper we present some quite simple results concerning almost-periodic solutions of abstract differential equations. We study quasilinear equations of elliptic and parabolic type whose solutions, having bounded uniform norms or bounded uniform norms of their derivatives, are uniquely defined by the additional information about the values of these solutions on a grid. We present a nonlinear method to approximate solutions of a Burgers–Huxley equation with generalized advection factor and logistic reaction. The equation under investigation possesses travelling-wave solutions that are temporally and spatially monotone functions; the travelling-wave fronts considered are bounded and connect asymptotically the stationary solutions of the model. For the linear regime, the method is consistent of first order in time and second order in space. In the nonlinear scenario, we investigate conditions under which bounded initial profiles evolve into bounded new approximations. The main results report on parametric conditions that guarantee the boundedness, the positivity and the monotonicity preservation of the method. As a consequence, our recursive method is capable of preserving the temporal and the spatial monotonicity of the solutions. We provide simulations that show that, indeed, our technique preserves the positivity, the boundedness and the temporal and spatial monotonicity of solutions.  相似文献

We give conditions on the coefficient matrix for certain perturbed linear dynamic equations on time scales ensuring that there exists a bounded solution (which is explicitly given) to which all other solutions converge, and similarly conditions ensuring a bounded solution from which all other solutions diverge. In order to investigate bounded traveling waves of the Burgers-Huxley equation, bifurcations of codimension 1 and 2 are discussed for its traveling wave system. By reduction to center manifolds and normal forms we give conditions for the appearance of homoclinic solutions, heteroclinic solutions and periodic solutions, which correspondingly give conditions of existence for solitary waves, kink waves and periodic waves, three basic types of bounded traveling waves. Furthermore, their evolutions are discussed to investigate the existence of other types of bounded traveling waves, such as the oscillatory traveling waves corresponding to connections between an equilibrium and a periodic orbit and the oscillatory kink waves corresponding to connections of saddle-focus.  相似文献

Using the methods of dynamical systems for the (n 1)-dimensional multiple sine-Gordon equation, the existences of uncountably infinite many periodic wave solutions and breaking bounded wave solutions axe obtained. For the double sine-Gordon equation, the exact explicit parametric representations of the bounded traveling solutions are given. The aim of this paper is to study the behavior of bounded solutions of parabolic equations on the whole real line under perturbation of the underlying domain. We give the convergence of bounded solutions of linear parabolic equations in the L 2 and the L p -settings. For the L p -theory, we also prove the H?lder regularity of bounded solutions with respect to time. In addition, we study the persistence of a class of bounded solutions which decay to zero at t → ±∞ of semilinear parabolic equations under domain perturbation.  相似文献
