Transition metal complexes [Fe(HL)2]Cl3 ? 1.5H2O (1), [Co(L)2] ? ClO4 ? H2O (2), Ni(HL)2(ClO4)2 ? 2H2O (3), Zn(HL)L ? BF4 ? 2H2O (4), and Cd(HL)2(ClO4)2 ? 2H2O (5), where HL = C7H9N5S, 2-acetylpyrazine thiosemicarbazone, have been synthesized. Complex 2 was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, mass spectra, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Preliminary in vitro screening showed that 1, 4, and 5 exhibit higher antitumor activity than 2 and 3 against K562 leucocythemia cancer cell line.  相似文献

The reaction of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) chlorides and bromides with 3-thiophene aldehyde thiosemicarbazone (3TTSCH) leads to the formation of a series of new complexes: [Co(3TTSC)2], [Ni(3TTSC)2], [CuCl(3TTSC)]2, [CuBr(3TTSC)]2 and [CuBr2(3TTSCH)]. The crystal structures of the free ligand and of the compound [Ni(3TTSC)2] have been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. For all these complexes, the central ion is coordinated through the sulfur and the azomethine nitrogen atom of the thiosemicarbazone. [Co(3TTSC)2], [Ni(3TTSC)2] and [CuBr2(3TTSCH)] are mononuclear species, while [CuCl(3TTSC)]2 and [CuBr(3TTSC)]2 are binuclear complexes.  相似文献

The electrochemical oxidation of anodic nickel, copper, zinc or cadmium in acetonitrile solutions of Schiff bases (HL) derived from H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde and substituted anilines gives compounds of general formula ML2. The crystal structure of bis{2-[(4-methylphenyl)iminomethyl]pyrrolato}copper(II) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with a = 9.356(2), b = 16.697(2), c = 14.145(2) Å and β = 108.47(2)°. The crystal structure consists of monomeric molecules in which the central CuN4 unit has distorted square-planar geometry with a dihedral angle of 25.8(3)° between the coordination planes. The IR, 1H NMR and UV-visible spectra of the complexes are discussed and related to the structure.  相似文献

Varying coordination modes of the Schiff base ligand H2L [5-methyl-1-H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid (1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylidene)-hydrazide] towards different metal centers are reported with the syntheses and characterization of four mononuclear Mn(II), Co(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes, [Mn(H2L)(H2O)2](ClO4)2(MeOH) (1), [Co(H2L)(NCS)2] (2), [Cd(H2L)(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (3) and [Zn(H2L)(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (4), and a binuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu2(L)2](ClO4)2 (5). In the complexes 1-4 the neutral ligand serves as a 3N,2O donor where the pyridine ring N, two azomethine N and two carbohydrazine oxygen atoms are coordinatively active, leaving the pyrazole-N atoms inactive. In the case of complex 5, each ligand molecule behaves as a 4N,O donor utilizing the pyridine N, one azomethine N, the nitrogen atom proximal to the azomethine of the remaining pendant arm and one pyrazole-N atom to one metal center and the carbohydrazide oxygen atom to the second metal center. The complexes 1-4 are pentagonal bipyramidal in geometry. In each case, the ligand molecule spans the equatorial plane while the apical positions are occupied by water molecules in 1, 3 and 4 and two N bonded thiocyanate ions in 2. In complex 5, the two Cu(II) centers have almost square pyramidal geometry (τ = 0.05 for Cu1 and 0.013 for Cu2). Four N atoms from a ligand molecule form the basal plane and the carbohydrazide oxygen atom of a second ligand molecule sits in the apex of the square pyramid. All the complexes have been X-ray crystallographically characterized. The Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes show considerable fluorescence emission while the remaining complexes and the ligand molecule are fluorescent silent.  相似文献

Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) complexes, ML2, with a new thioether containing ONS donors were synthesized, where L = deprotonated Schiff base. The analytical, spectral (FTIR, 1H NMR, and UV-vis), conductivity, and magnetic studies show that the metal complexes possess octahedral geometry and are non-electrolytes. The coordination mode of ligand, 1, and nickel(II) complex, NiL2, 2, was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Here, the nickel is coordinated to two oxygens, two nitrogens, and two sulfurs of two tridentate ligands with slightly distorted octahedral environment around nickel. The copper complex shows very good catalytic activities towards oxidation of organic thioethers to the corresponding sulfoxide predominantly using H2O2 as the oxidant.  相似文献

Three new reduced amino-acid Schiff-base complexes, [Zn(HL)2] · H2O (1), [Ni(HL)2] · H2O (2), and [Cd(HL)2] · H2O (3), where H2L is a reduced Schiff base derived from condensation of N-(2-hydroxybenzaldehyde) and L-histidine, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis absorption spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 13 are isostructural. All metal centers are six-coordinate with O2N4 donor sets in slightly distorted octahedra. Unlike its Schiff-base counterpart, the deprotonated monoanionic ligand HL? has a more flexible backbone and two HL? are tridentate to one metal. Moreover, the binding interactions of these complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) have been investigated by UV-Vis spectra and fluorescence quenching, which show that the complexes bind in an intercalative mode.  相似文献

A series of complexes of the type M(Phca2en)X2, where Phca2en=N,N′-bis(β-phenyl-cinnamaldehyde)-1,2-diiminoethane, M(II)=Co, Ni or Zn and X=Cl, Br, I or NCS have been synthesized and characterized. The crystal and molecular structures of Co(Phca2en)Cl2 (2), Ni(Phca2en)Br2 (5) and Zn(Phca2en)Cl2 (6) were determined by X-ray crystallography from single-crystal data. Complexes 2 and 5 are isomorph and isostructure, in which the coordination polyhedron about the central metal ion is distorted tetrahedron with Cl---Co---Cl, 110.17(6)°; N---Co---N, 84.16(13)° and Cl---Zn---Cl, 112.02(6)°; N---Zn---N, 83.45(16)°. The complex 5 crystallizes in triclinic system with two molecules per asymmetric unit, both having nickel ion in distorted tetrahedral geometry, Br---Ni---Br, 122.645(18)° and 125.729(18)°; N---Ni---N, 84.63(9)° and 85.08(9)°. These structures consist of intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the type C---HX. The formation of the C---HM weak intramolecular hydrogen bonds due to the trapping of C---H bonds in the vicinity of the metal atoms are reported for 2, 5 and 6. A 1H NMR study of Zn complexes gives further evidence for the presence of such interactions and their significance. The spectral properties of the above complexes are also discussed.  相似文献

Ni(II), Cu(II), Co(II), and Pd(II) complexes were synthesized with a Schiff base containing thioether with ONS donors chelating to the metal center. The ligand and complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, UV–visible spectroscopy and magnetic studies. The crystal structures of the ligand and its Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Structures revealed that the ligand chelated with Ni(II) and Pd(II) center in slightly distorted octahedral and slightly distorted square planar fashion, respectively. DFT studies of the Pd(II) complex revealed that the calculated structural parameters are very close with the experimentally observed data. The Cu(II) complex shows very good catalytic activity toward the conversion of alcohol to aldehyde under aerobic oxidation with ammonium persulfate.  相似文献

By condensation of amantadine and 4-methoxysalicylaldehyde a new Schiff base HL was synthesized. A mixture of HL and zinc(II) chloride in an alcoholic medium leads to [Zn(HL)2Cl2] (1). However, the same reactants gave another different complex (ZnL2) (2) in the presence of NaOH. The two complexes were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis, molar conductance, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 crystallizes in the triclinic system, Pī space group; each asymmetric unit consists of one zinc(II), two HL, and two chlorides. The tetra coordination of central zinc is attained by two chlorides and two oxygens from the Schiff base, forming a distorted tetrahedral geometry. Complex 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, P21/c space group; each asymmetric unit consists of one zinc(II) and two L. The tetra coordination of central zinc is attained by two nitrogens and two oxygens from the Schiff base, forming a distorted tetrahedral geometry.  相似文献

Five mononuclear nickel(II) complexes, viz. [Ni(L1)(PPh3)] (1), [Ni(L2)(PPh3)] (2), [Ni(L3)(PPh3)] (3), [Ni(L4)(PPh3)] (4) and [Ni(L5)(PPh3)] (5) (where L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5 are dianions of N-(2-mercaptophenyl)salicylideneimine, 5-methyl-N-(2-mercaptophenyl)salicylideneimine, 5-chloro-N-(2-mercaptophenyl)salicylideneimine, 5-bromo-N-(2-mercaptophenyl)salicylideneimine and N-(2-mercaptophenyl)naphthylideneimine, respectively), have been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, electronic, IR, 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray analysis of two of the complexes (1 and 5) has revealed the presence of a square planar coordination geometry (ONSP) about nickel. The crystal structures of the complexes are stabilized by intermolecular π–π stacking between the ligands (L) and by various C–H···π interactions.  相似文献

Four new nickel(II), zinc(II), and cobalt(II) complexes, [Zn(L1)2]?·?H2O (1), [Ni(L1)2]?·?H2O (2), [Ni(L2)2] (3), and [Co(L3)2]?·?H2O (4), derived from hydroxy-rich Schiff bases 2-{[1-(5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}-2-methylpropane-1,3-diol (HL1), 2-{[1-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}-2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol (HL2), and 2-{[1-(5-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}-2-methylpropane-1,3-diol (HL3) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray determination. Each metal in the complexes is six-coordinate in a distorted octahedral coordination. The Schiff bases coordinate to the metal atoms through the imino N, phenolate O, and one hydroxyl O. In the crystal structures of HL1 and the complexes, molecules are linked through intermolecular O–H···O hydrogen bonds, forming 1-D chains. The urease inhibitory activities of the compounds were evaluated and molecular docking study of the compounds with the Helicobacter pylori urease was performed.  相似文献

A tridentate NNO donor hydrazine Schiff base, HL, was obtained from condensation of pyridine 2-carbaldehyde and 4-hydroxy benzohydrazide. HL and azide ligands with Cr(III), Mn(II) and Fe(III) have been used to synthesize [Cr(L)(N3)(OCH3)]2 (1), [Mn(HL)2(N3)2] (2), and [Fe(L)(N3)(OCH3)]2·H2O (3). HL is quite diverse in its chelating ability and can be a neutral or monoanionic ligand as a tridentate unit. In this paper, we report structures showing different denticities of the ligand having different charges. The ligand 13 was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and UV–vis spectral studies and solid-state structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, revealing that 1 and 3 are binuclear, while 2 is mononuclear. The efficiencies of the ligand and the three complexes were evaluated for antimicrobial activity; MIC data revealed that HL 13 are not strongly active in comparison to standard drugs.  相似文献

The novel heteronuclear compounds [Zn(hydet-en)2Pd(CN)4] (1) and [Cd(hydet-en)2Pd(CN)4] (2) {hydet-en: N-(2-hydroxyethyl-ethylenediamine)} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and IR spectra. The crystal structures of 1 and 2 have been determined by X-ray diffraction. Structural analysis shows that both compounds have shown a polymeric chain, in which the Zn(II)/Pd(II) and Cd(II)/Pd(II) centres are linked by two CN groups. Both zinc and cadmium atoms are six coordinate with two trans cyanide–nitrogen and four hydet-en N atoms in a distorted octahedron arrangement; the palladium atoms in 1 and 2 are four coordinate with four cyanide-C atoms in a square planar arrangement. The chains in both compounds are connected through weak interchain hydrogen bonds, N–H?···?O, N–H?···?N and O–H?···?N, thereby forming a three-dimensional network.  相似文献

By condensation of rimantadine and substituted salicylaldehyde, three new Schiff bases, HL1, HL2 and HL3, were synthesized. Then, a mixture of one of the new ligands and cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate in ethanol led to 1, 2, and 3, respectively. These complexes were characterized by melting point, elemental analysis, infrared spectra, molar conductance, thermal analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, Pbcn space group; each asymmetric unit consists of one cobalt(II) ion, two deprotonated ligands, and one lattice water. The central cobalt is four coordinate via two nitrogens and two oxygens from the corresponding Schiff base ligand, forming a distorted tetrahedral geometry. Complexes 2 and 3 crystallize in the monoclinic system, P21/c space group; each asymmetric unit consists of one cobalt(II), two corresponding deprotonated ligands, one lattice water, and one methanol. The central cobalt is also four-coordinate via two nitrogens and two oxygens from the corresponding Schiff base ligand, forming a distorted tetrahedral geometry.  相似文献

A chiral Schiff base complex, bis(N-R-1-phenylethyl-3,5-dichlorosalicydenaminato) cobalt(II) was prepared newly and characterized to be a distorted tetrahedral trans-[CoN2O2] coordination geometry. Organic/inorganic hybrid materials containing the related cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II) complexes and photochromic azobenzene in polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) cast films were assembled for comparison of their flexibility and molecular arrangement in the photofunctional medium. Characterization of each component and hybrid materials was carried out by means of absorption and CD spectra and thermal analysis (TG–DTA and DSC). Moreover, we have attempted to observe changes of conformation and/or molecular arrangement of the complexes or azobenzene induced by cistrans photoisomerization of azobenzene after alternate irradiation of polarized UV and visible light. Gradual increase of optical anisotropy was observed for all the hybrid materials regardless of flexibility of Schiff base complexes, and the degree of dichroism and weak intermolecular interactions were discussed based on polarized absorption electronic spectra.  相似文献

A bidentate iminophenol (HL = 2-((4-methoxyphenylimino)methyl)-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol derived from condensation of 4-methoxyaniline and 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde) was mixed with divalent metal salts to form the corresponding mononuclear metal complexes [MII(L)2] (M = Co (1), Cu (2), and Zn (3)). The complexes are characterized by different spectroscopic and analytical tools. X-ray crystal structures of the complexes revealed homoleptic mononuclear complexes with MN2O2 coordination. The cobalt(II) (1) and zinc(II) (3) complexes display a pseudo-tetrahedral coordination geometry, whereas the copper(II) complex (2) exhibits a distorted square-planar coordination. The zinc(II) complex (3) emits at 460 nm with a twofold enhancement of emission with respect to the free iminophenol.  相似文献

We report allyl 2-(thiophen-2-ylmethylene)hydrazine-carbodithioate (HL) and its Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes, [ML2]. The compounds were fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR, UV-Vis, and molar conductivity. The crystal structure analysis indicates that the metal is four-coordinate square planar and that a parallel stacking of the molecular planes is present in the crystals, with stacking distances of 3.642 and 3.676?Å for the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes, respectively. Gas phase DFT computations indicate that the thione tautomeric form of the free ligand is more stable than the thiol form by 14.52?kJ?mol–1. For HL and ML2, comparison between the computed and experimental data shows good agreement.  相似文献
