The liquid extraction of 14 lanthanoids with a 4-benzoyl-3-phenyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) alone in CHCl3 as a diluent from perchlorate medium at constant ionic strength μ = 0.1 is investigated. The synergistic solvent extraction of five selected lanthanoid ions (La3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, Ho3+ and Lu3+) with 4-benzoyl-3-phenyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) and 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis-(dimethylphosphinoylmethoxy)calix[4]arene, (S) in CHCl3 has been studied too. The stoichiometry of the extracted species was characterised by a classical log–log plot analysis. It was found that the composition of the extracted species with HPBI are Ln(PBI)3 and in the presence of the phosphorus-containing calix[4]arene the lanthanoid ions have been extracted as [Ln(PBI)3S2]. The values of the equilibrium constants and the separation factors have been calculated. The influence of the synergistic agent on the extraction process has been discussed.  相似文献

The synergistic solvent extraction of five selected lanthanoid ions (La3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, Ho3+ and Lu3+) with a 4-benzoyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone(HP) and the 5,11,17,23-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(dimethylphosphinoylmethoxy)calix[4]arene, (S) in CHCl3 has been studied. It was found that in presence of this phosphorus-containing calix[4]arene the lanthanoids have been extracted as LnP3 · S. On the basis of the experimental data, the values of the equilibrium constants have been calculated. The influence of the synergistic agent on the extraction process has been discussed. A synergistic effect of almost three orders of magnitude occurs in the extraction of Ln(III) with mixture of HP and S. The values of the separation factors (S.F.) between the adjacent elements have been evaluated. On the basis of the IR and NMR spectra the stoichiometry and the structure of the solid complexes of Eu(III) with HP and Eu(III) with HP and S were proposed.  相似文献

Synergistic extraction of long-lived fission products 137Cs+, 85Sr2+, and 152Eu3+ from dilute HNO3 into dichloroethane with ligands derived from p-(1-adamantyl)thiacalix[4]arene in mixtures with chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide was studied. An extraordinary synergistic effect is observed in extraction of europium with p-(1-adamantyl)thiacalix[4]arene tetraacetate derivative. Amides of p-(1-adamantyl)thiacalix-[4]arene tetracarboxylic acid are selective toward europium, although their extraction ability toward the examined ions is lower than that of the classical extractant, p-(1-adamantyl)calix[4]arene tetracarboxylic acid diethylamide.  相似文献

In the present study, the synthesis and liquid phase extraction properties towards some amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols of Schiff base and amino alcohol substituted calix[4]arene are reported. The Schiff base substituted calix[4]arene 5 has been synthesized via condensation reaction involving 5,17-diformyl-11,23-di-tert-butyl-25,27-di[3-(4-formylphenoxy)propoxy]-26,28 dihydroxycalix[4]arene 4 and (R)-(?)-2-phenylglycine methyl ester in CHCl3:MeOH. To give the amino alcohol substituted calix[4]arene 6, the synthesized chiral compound 5 was reduced by LiAlH4. The new chiral Schiff base and amino alcohol derivatives of calix[4]arene have been characterized by a combination of FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FAB-MS and elemental analysis. Also, the extraction behaviors of 5 and 6 towards some selected amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols have been studied by liquid–liquid extraction.  相似文献

Microcalorimetric titrations have been performed in acidic aqueous solution at 25 °C to calculate the complex stability constants (KS) and thermodynamic parameters (ΔG°, ΔH°, and TΔS°) for the stoichiometric 1:1 complexation of lanthanoid(III) nitrates (La-Gd, Tb) with 5,11,17,23-tetrasulfonato-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(hydroxycarbonylmethoxy)calix[4]arene (2) and 5,11,17,23-tetrasulfonato-thiacalix[4]arene (3). Using the present and previous reported data on water-soluble calix[4]arenesulfonates (1) and structurally related analogues 2 and 3, the complexation behavior is discussed comparatively from the thermodynamic point of view. Possessing four carboxyls at the lower rim of parent calix[4]arenesulfonate (1), the derivative 2 displays the enhanced binding abilities for Sm3+. As compared with 1 and 2, p-sulfonatothiacalix[4]arene (3) gives not only the lower binding constants for all of lanthanoid(III) ions but also lower cations selectivity. Thermodynamically, the resulting complexes of lanthanoid(III) ions with 1 and its derivatives 2 and 3 is absolutely entropy-driven in aqueous solution, typically showing larger positive entropy changes. These larger positive entropy changes (TΔS°) and somewhat smaller positive enthalpy changes (ΔH°) are directly contributed to the complexes stability as a compensative consequence.  相似文献

A series of new calix[4]arene(amido)mono-crown compounds have been synthesized through aminolysis of calix[4]arene esters and intramolecular cyclization of the intermediates. The title compounds were converted into their nitro and azo substituted derivatives to provide novel photoresponsive molecular receptors for transition metal ions. Single crystal X-ray analysis of calix[4]arene(ethyleneamido)mono-crown (2a) revealed that the compound is present in a cone conformation with an amido loop that caps the lower rim of calix[4]arene cavity to result in stacking along axis a and axis c to provide supramolecular aggregates in the solid state. Evaluation of synthesized macrocycles in the solution phase for recognition of transition metal cations (Cr3+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Ag+, Cd2+, Pb2+, Hg+, Hg2+, Pd2+, and Pt2+) by UV-visible spectroscopy revealed that p-tert-butyl-calix[4]arene mono-(amidocrown) 1c selectively shows a blue shift at 38 nm on interaction with Hg+ ions.  相似文献

A series of novel double-armed calix[4]arene derivatives, i.e. 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl -25,27-bis[2-[(2-hydroxy-5-(4-nitroazo)benzylidene)amino]ethoxy]-26,28-dihydroxy-calix[4]-arene (4), 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis[2-[(2-hydroxy-5-(2-nitroazo)benzylidene) amino]ethoxy]-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (5), 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis[2-[(2-hydroxy-5-(4-chloroazo)benzylidene)amino]ethoxy]-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (6), have been synthesized as an selective chromoionophore for Na+. The complexation behavior of ligands 4-6 with alkali metal ions Na+, K+, Rb+and Cs+ has been evaluated by using UV-Vis spectrometry in CH3CN-H2O (99:1/V:V) solution at 25°C. The UV-Vis spectra show that the complexation of 4-6 with Na+exhibits obvious bathochromic shifts (λmax 379→480 nm) and there is a unique color change in the solution from yellow to red upon complexation. The binding constants for Na+ are higher than that of other alkali metal ions, giving the highest cation selectivity up to 7 for Na+/K+. The binding ability and photophysical behavior of alkali cations by calix[4]arene derivatives 4-6 are discussed from the point of view of substituted effects at the lower rim of parent calix[4]arene and size-fit concept between host calix[4]arenes and guest cations.  相似文献

The binding properties of the cone conformer of O,O,O,O-tetrakis[hydrazinocarbonylmethyl]-4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene, the cone and the 1,3-alternate conformers of the corresponding thia analogue have been evaluated by means of liquid–liquid extraction for a large variety of metal ions. The extraction constants and the stoichiometries of the complexes formed have been determined. Comparison of the extraction properties of calix[4]arenes with their acyclic monomeric analogue clearly demonstrated, that the preorganization of acetylhydrazide groups on the calix[4]arene platform is the cause for a significant improvement of its binding properties. The presence of additional “soft” nitrogen binding sites in acetylhydrazide derivatives of calix[4]arenes compared to their amide derivatives leads to a shift from their classical selectivity for alkali and alkaline earth cations to transition metals. The cone conformer of tetrathiacalix[4]arene shows higher selectivity in a series of d-metal ions compared with its “classical” analogue. The 1,3-alternate conformer exhibits an excellent extraction selectivity for Cu2+ and Hg2+.  相似文献

Novel calix[4]arene amides have been synthesized and their interaction with alkaline cations has been evaluated through extracting aqueous solutions of Li-, Na- and K-picrates with solutions of calix[4]arene amides in CH2Cl2. Electron-withdrawing groups on the upper rim of the calix[4]arene scaffold were found to have a negative effect on the absolute amount of metal ions extracted. The decreased extraction ability is accompanied by a higher selectivity towards sodium cations.  相似文献

The extraction ability of phenyl hydrazone derivatives of cone- and 1,3-alternate tetrathiacalix[4]arenes towards to some alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions has been investigated by picrate extraction method. The synthesized cone-tetrathiacalix[4]arene hydrazones show a high efficiency coupled with an excellent selectivity towards for Ag+ and Hg2+ ions. The stoichiometry of complexes and the extraction constants have been determined. We synthesized the new calix[4]arene amines bearing two and four imidazole or tert-butylamine moieties (9a,b/10a,b) by the reaction of di- or tetra-tosylated calix[4]arene derivatives (7 and 8, respectively) with 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole and/or tert-butylamine, respectively. After the characterization of 9a,b/10a,b their extraction abilities toward Cr(VI) anionic species (CAS) was evaluated and compared by the liquid–liquid extraction method. The extraction results revealed that calix[4]arene amine having four imidazole groups (10a) was an efficient anion receptor for CAS. Moreover, the extraction of CAS by 10a in the presence of other anions such as Cl?, NO3?, and PO43? showed that 10a could be a selective anion receptor for CAS in the presence of those anions.  相似文献

The electrochemical one-electron reduction (oxidation) of bipyridyl metal complexes ([Co(bipy)3]3+, [Cr(bipy)3]3+, [Fe(bipy)3]2+, [Ru(bipy)3]2+ (as well as Co(III) sepulcrate)) with water-soluble (thia)calix[4]arenes has been studied by means of cyclic voltammetry. It has been shown that [M(bipy)3]3+/2+ bind to (thia)calix[4]arenes via sulfonate groups of the upper rim. Oxidized forms bind stronger than reduced ones leading to reduction (oxidation) of half-wave cathodic shift. The effect of predominant stabilization of oxidized forms of metal complexes for carboxylated calix[4]arene is stronger than for thiacalix[4]arene (ΔΔG0?=???7.8?÷???12.5 and ??3.7 kJ/mol, respectively). The redox-switchable outer-sphere binding of Co(III) sepulchrate via lower rim of carboxylated calix[4]arene has been revealed using cyclic voltammetry. The binding constants of outer-sphere associates based on calix[4]arenes and unstable metal complexes ([Co(sep)]2+, [Ru(bipy)3]3+, [Co(bipy)3]2+) have been calculated for the first time using 1H NMR titration and cyclic voltammetry data.

Abstract

Calorimetric titrations have been performed for the first time in anhydrous acetonitrile at 25°C to give the complex stability constant (K S) and thermodynamic quantities for the complexation of light lanthanoid(III) nitrates (La-Gd) with 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-26,28-bis(cyanomethoxy)-25,27-dihydroxy-calix[4]arene (1) and 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-26, 28-bis(2-aminoethoxy)-25,27-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (2). X-ray crystallographic structures of 1 and 2 were also determined and compared. Possessing the cyanomethoxy and aminoethyl substituents, 1 and 2 displayed strikingly different cation binding abilities and selectivity profiles with much higher K S values for La3+ and Ce3+, which may be related to the original structures in the solid state. Thus, the binding profile for 2 showed a rapid decrease in K S with decreasing ionic diameter from La3+ to Pr3+ and then became flat up to Gd3+, while 1 gave a very flat profile which is superimposable with that for 2 between Pr3+-Gd3+. Thermodynamically, the complexation is driven absolutely by enthalpy which compensates the entropic loss arising from the structural freezing of the calix[4]arene derivatives upon simultaneous binding of lanthanoid ion by the phenolic oxygen and acetonitrile molecule in the cavity. The general validity and the meaning of the compensative enthalpy-entropy relationship observed are discussed.  相似文献

A novel calix[4]arene derivative with two ferrocenyl Schiff-base groups at the upper rim 3 has been synthesized from 5,17-diformyl-25,27-dipropoxy-26,28-dihydroxy calix[4]arene and 4-ferrocenylaniline via condensation reaction. Reduction of 3 with sodium borohydride led to calix[4]arene derivative 4 with two amino ferrocenyl groups at the upper rim. The ferrocenyl Schiff-base calix[4]arene and its corresponding reduced amine have been purified and characterized by elemental analysis,1H NMR, FTIR, Mass and UV-vis spectral data. Electrochemical properties of compounds 3 and 4 have been investigated. Cyclic voltammograms of 3 and 4 show reversible redox couples of ferrocene/ferrocinium at E1/2=0.401 V and 0.346 V, respectively. Electrochemical studies show these redox active compounds electrochemically recognize trivalent lanthanides La3+ and Ce3+ and divalent Pb2+ and Cu2+cations. With ferrocenyl Schiff-base calix[4]arene 3 an anodic shift as large as 130 mV is observed on addition of one equivalent of Ce3+ ion. Also extraction properties of compound 4 towards some metal cations have been described. It has been observed that compound 4 has a good selectivity for metal cations Fe3+, Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ against Ni2+ and Co2+.  相似文献

The novel chiral polymeric compounds containing more than one calix[4]arene have been synthesized by reacting a new calix[4]arene diamine derivative with two chiral monomers. These newly prepared compounds were studied by extraction of toxic heavy metal (Cu2+, Co2+, Cd2+, Hg2+), silver and alkali metal (Na+, K+) cations from aqueous phase. It was observed that the resulting calixarene-based polymers have a good complexing ability towards silver, alkali metal and toxic heavy metal cations.  相似文献

A novel photochromic Schiff base derivative, 5,17-N,N′-(5,5′-di-methoxyl-benzlaldehyde)diimine-25,27-dipropoxy-calix[4]arene has been synthesized through incorporation of two imine groups into the upper rims of calix[4]arene. The experiments showed that the addition of Dy3+ or Er3+ ions to compound 4 results in the solution color change, but other metal ions caused less change. It indicated that the synthetic receptor can selectively recognize Dy3+ and Er3+ ion by naked eye over other lanthanide cations. Thus, these systems can be applied as chemosensor for Dy3+ and Er3+ ion in analytical chemistry.  相似文献

Using DFT calculations, two of the most probable structures (A, B) of the tetraphenyl p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene tetraketone·H3O+ cationic complex species were derived. The hydroxonium ion H3O+, placed in the coordination cavity formed by the calix[4]arene lower-rim groups, is bound by strong hydrogen bonds to the phenoxy oxygen atoms of the calix[4]arene ligand (structures A, B) and also to one carbonyl oxygen (structure B).  相似文献

This study comprises synthesis and characterization of azocalix[4]arene compounds having copolymeric structures. The novel bisazocalixphenol-A and copolymer containing pendant azocalix[4]arene units with ester (5) and ketone (6) functionalities at their lower rim have been synthesized via diazo-coupling reaction. The phase transfer study is performed by liquid?Cliquid extraction method. It has been deduced from the observations that their precursors 25,26,27-tribenzoyloxy-28-hydroxy-5-(4-aminophenylazo)calix[4] arene (3), 25,27-diacetoniloxy-26,28-dihydroxy-5,17-(4-aminophenylazo)calix[4]arene (4) and bisazocalixphenol-A (5) show a good phase transfer affinity towards selected transition metal cations, unlike copolymer (6). These compounds are studied by the selective extraction of Fe3+ cation from the aqueous phase into the organic phase and it is carried out using compounds 1?C6. It is observed that the reduced azocalix[4]arene 4 is the most efficient (82.93?%) carrier of all compounds (3?C6) in the extraction of Fe3+ at pH 5.4.  相似文献

Eight novel calix[6]arene-based biomimetic ligands for transition metal ions have been synthesized. They display a non-symmetrical N3, N4 or N3ArO binding core that mimics enzyme active sites presenting histidine and tyrosine residues. The key step for their synthesis is the mono-alkylation at the small rim of the C3v symmetrical trimethyl ether derivative of tBu-calix[6]arene with N-Boc-2-chloroethylamine to yield a novel calix[6]arene synthon. Its combined O-alkylation with a chloromethyl aromatic amine and N-deprotection or alkylation or reductive alkylation with a salicylaldehyde derivative yielded the calix[6]arene-based ligands with mixed N/O donors.  相似文献
