In dieser Arbeit befassen wir uns mit der inhomogenen Differentialgleichung:
$$\begin{aligned} u'(t)+A(t)u(t)+f(t)= & {} 0,\quad t\in (t_1,t_2)\\ u(t_1)= & {} \varphi \end{aligned}$$
im abstrakten Hilbertraum und weisen eindeutige starke Lösungen aus der Klasse der lipschitzstetigen Funktionen nach, falls f(t) von beschränkter Variation ist, sowie klassische Lösungen, falls f(t) zusätzlich stetig ist. Das bedeutet den Verzicht auf die bisher übliche Forderung der Lipschitzstetigkeit von f(t) für den direkten Nachweis der klassischen Lösbarkeit.

Under conditions on Γ1 and the coefficientsk(z), d(x,y,z) we prove the existence of weak solutions for the boundary value problemL[u]=f inG with \(u|_{\Gamma _0 \cup \Gamma _1 } = 0\) . Summary Operator equationsTu=f are approximated by Galerkin's method, whereT is a monotone operator in the sense of Browder and Minty, so that existence results are available in a reflexive Banach spaceX. In a normed spaceY error estimates are established, which require a priori bounds for the discrete solutionsu h in the norm of a suitable space . Sufficient conditions for the uniform boundedness u h Z =O(1) ash0 are proved. Well-known error estimates in [3] for the special caseX=Y=Z are generalized by this. The theory is applied to quasilinear elliptic boundary value problems of order 2m in a bounded domain . The approximating subspaces are finite element spaces. Especially the caseX=W 0 m, p (), 1<p<,Y=W 0 m. 2 (),Z=W 0 m. max (2,p) ()Wm, () is treated. Some examples for 1<p<2 are considered. Forp2 a refined technique is introduced in the author's paper [7].

This paper deals with the global classical solvability of the Cauchy problem for nonlinear wave equations of higher order of the following form where denotes the Laplacian, a real constant, m a positive integer, and f the nonlinearity. Using results of the first part [6] concerning estimations for the kernel of the associated integral equation a priori estimates for certain LP-norms of the local regular solution are established for higher space dimensions and for a class of nonlinearities satisfying certain growth and positivity conditions. This leads to completely regular solutions by means of the Sobolev embedding theorems.  相似文献

In a partially ordered space, the method xn+1 = L+x n + – N+x n - – Ly+ + N y n - + r, yn+1 = N+y+ – L+y n - – Nx n + + Lx + t of successive approximation is developed in order to enclose the solutions of a set of linear fixed point equations monotonously. The method works if only the inequalities x0 y0, x0 x1, y1 y0 related to the starting elements are satisfied. In finite-dimensional spaces suitable starting vectors can be computed if a sufficiently good approximation for the fixed points is known.

When administrative bodies publish figures we are often stunned by the precision with which they seem to render various situations and consequently tend to rely on their correctness. These figures, however, frequently do not describe a situation as accurately as they suggest. Thus working and drawing conclusions from such “precise figures” soon turns out to be highly problematic. Mathematics taught in school today encourages the pupils’ belief in the validity of such seemingly “precise figures”. This article promotes a deeper consciousness of this widely neglected problem and gives first suggestions of how to use the term “precision” in relation to figures in school mathematics in a reasonable and responsible way.  相似文献
