We propose a holographic dual of a conformal field theory defined on a manifold with boundaries, i.e., boundary conformal field theory (BCFT). Our new holography, which may be called anti-de?Sitter BCFT, successfully calculates the boundary entropy or g function in two-dimensional BCFTs and it agrees with the finite part of the holographic entanglement entropy. Moreover, we can naturally derive a holographic g theorem. We also analyze the holographic dual of an interval at finite temperature and show that there is a first order phase transition.  相似文献

Classical Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) codes over finite fields have been studied extensively. The Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) construction, especially Steane’s enlargement, and Hermitian construction are the most widely used methods in design of quantum codes. The BCH codes containing their Euclidean dual or Hermitian dual codes can be used to generate good stabilizer codes. Therefore, we can construct quantum codes by classical BCH codes over finite fields in this paper. Firstly, we study the properties of such classical BCH codes in terms of the cyclotomic cosets. It is convenient to compute the dimension of new quantum BCH codes. Meanwhile, it ensures that classical BCH codes are Euclidean dual-containing or Hermitian dual-containing. These results about suitable cyclotomic cosets make it possible to construct several new families of nonbinary quantum BCH codes with a given parameter set. Compared with the ones available in the literature, the quantum BCH codes in our schemes have good parameters. In particular, we extend to more general cases than known results.

Quantum error correcting codes (QECCs) play an important role in preventing quantum information decoherence. Good quantum stabilizer codes were constructed by classical error correcting codes. In this paper, Bose–Chaudhuri–Hocquenghem (BCH) codes over finite fields are used to construct quantum codes. First, we try to find such classical BCH codes, which contain their dual codes, by studying the suitable cyclotomic cosets. Then, we construct nonbinary quantum BCH codes with given parameter sets. Finally, a new family of quantum BCH codes can be realized by Steane’s enlargement of nonbinary Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) construction and Hermitian construction. We have proven that the cyclotomic cosets are good tools to study quantum BCH codes. The defining sets contain the highest numbers of consecutive integers. Compared with the results in the references, the new quantum BCH codes have better code parameters without restrictions and better lower bounds on minimum distances. What is more, the new quantum codes can be constructed over any finite fields, which enlarges the range of quantum BCH codes.  相似文献

We propose explicit recipes to construct the Euclidean Green functions of gauge-invariant charged, monopole and dyon fields in four-dimensional gauge theories whose phase diagram contains phases with deconfined electric and/or magnetic charges. In theories with only either abelian electric or magnetic charges, our construction is an Euclidean version of Dirac's original proposal, the magnetic dual of his proposal, respectively. Rigorous mathematical control is achieved for a class of abelian lattice theories. In theories where electric and magnetic charges coexist, our construction of Green functions of electrically or magnetically charged fields involves taking an average over Mandelstam strings or the dual magnetic flux tubes, in accordance with Dirac's flux quantization condition. We apply our construction to 't Hooft-Polyakov monopoles and Julia-Zee dyons. Connections between our construction and the semiclassical approach are discussed.  相似文献

We consider the phase transition in the dual Yang-Mills theory at finite temperature T. The phase transition is associated with a change (breaking) of symmetry. The effective mass of the dual gauge field is derived as a function of the T-dependent gauge coupling constant. We investigate the analytical criterion constraining the existence of a quark-antiquark bound state at temperatures higher than the temperature of deconfinement. We construct noncommutative “Riemannian manifold” structures on dual quasitriangular Hopf algebras such as ℂ q [SU 2] with its standard bicovariant differential calculus, using the quantum frame bundle approach introduced previously. The metric is provided by the braided-Killing form on the braided-Lie algebra on the tangent space and the n-bein by the Maurer–Cartan form. We also apply the theory to finite sets and in particular to finite group function algebras ℂ[G] with differential calculi and Killing forms determined by a conjugacy class. The case of the permutation group ℂ[S 3] is worked out in full detail and a unique torsion free and cotorsion free or “Levi–Civita” connection is obtained with noncommutative Ricci curvature essentially proportional to the metric (an Einstein space). We also construct Dirac operators in the metric background, including on finite groups such as S 3. In the process we clarify the construction of connections from gauge fields with nonuniversal calculi on quantum principal bundles of tensor product form. We consider the problem of finding a dual formulation of gravity in the presence of non-trivial matter couplings. In the absence of matter a dual graviton can be introduced only for linearised gravitational interactions. We show that the coupling of linearised gravity to matter poses obstructions to the usual construction and comment on possible resolutions of this difficulty.  相似文献

We study the thermodynamics and non-relativistic hydrodynamics of the holographic fluid on a finite cutoff surface in the Gauss–Bonnet gravity. It is shown that the isentropic flow of the fluid is equivalent to a radial component of gravitational field equations. We use the non-relativistic fluid expansion method to study the Einstein–Maxwell-dilaton system with a negative cosmological constant, and obtain the holographic incompressible forced Navier–Stokes equations of the dual fluid at AdS boundary and at a finite cutoff surface, respectively. Within the finite temperature N=4 strongly coupled super-Yang-Mills, we compute the dissipative force on an external quark in the presence of evenly distributed heavy quark cloud. This is computed holographically by constructing the corresponding gravity dual. We study the behaviour of this force as a function of the cloud density. Along the way we also analyze the stability of the gravity dual for vector and tensor perturbations.  相似文献

As a test of the conjectured QCD/supergravity duality, we consider mass gaps in the supergravity construction of QCD2. We find a mass gap in the dual field theory both when using non-rotating and rotating black D2-branes as backgrounds in the supergravity construction of QCD2. So, since pure QCD2 does not have a mass gap, the dual field theory of the supergravity construction of QCD2 cannot be pure QCD2. Considering the mass scales in the dual field theory of the supergravity construction of QCD2, we find that this is explainable both in the case of the non-rotating background and of the rotating background. In particular, the mass gap in the case of the rotating background can be explained using results of the large angular momentum limit of euclidean rotating branes, obtained recently by Cvetic and Gubser. We furthermore remark on the possible implications for the mass gaps in the supergravity constructions of QCD3 and QCD4.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to describe an analogue of a construction of Costello in the context of finite-dimensional differential graded Frobenius algebras which produces closed forms on the decorated moduli space of Riemann surfaces. We show that this construction extends to a certain natural compactification of the moduli space which is associated with the modular closure of the associative operad, due to the absence of ultra-violet divergences in the finite-dimensional case. We demonstrate that this construction is equivalent to the “dual construction” of Kontsevich.  相似文献

Using Fedosov’s approach we give a geometric construction of a formal symplectic groupoid over any Poisson manifold endowed with a torsion-free Poisson contravariant connection. In the case of Kähler–Poisson manifolds this construction provides, in particular, the formal symplectic groupoids with separation of variables. We show that the dual of a semisimple Lie algebra does not admit torsion-free Poisson contravariant connections.  相似文献

We show the construction of the dual superconducting theory for the confinement mechanism from QCD in the maximally abelian (MA) gauge using the lattice QCD Monte Carlo simulation. We find that essence of infrared abelian dominance is naturally understood with the off-diagonal gluon mass moff ≈- 1.2GeV induced by the MA gauge fixing. In the MA gauge, the off-diagonal gluon amplitude is forced to be small, and the off-diagonal gluon phase tends to be random. As the mathematical origin of abelian dominance for confinement, we demonstrate that the strong randomness of the off-diagonal gluon phase leads to abelian dominance for the string tension. In the MA gauge, there appears the macroscopic network of the monopole world-line covering the whole system. We investigate the monopole-current system in the MA gauge by analyzing the dual gluon field Bμ. We evaluate the dual gluon mas as mB = 0.4 0.5GeV in the infrared region, which is the lattice-QCD evidence of the dual Higgs mechanism by monopole condensation. Owing to infrared abelian dominance and infrared monopole condensation, QCD in the MA gauge is describable with the dual Ginzburg-Landau theory.  相似文献

A new modified model of nonlinear arcsin-electrodynamics with two parameters is proposed and analyzed. We obtain the corrections to the Coulomb law. The effect of vacuum birefringence takes place when the external constant magnetic field is present. We calculate indices of refraction for two perpendicular polarizations of electromagnetic waves and estimate bounds on the parameter γ from the BMV and PVLAS experiments. It is shown that the electric field of a point-like charge is finite at the origin. We calculate the finite static electric energy of point-like particles and demonstrate that the electron mass can have the pure electromagnetic nature. The symmetrical Belinfante energy-momentum tensor and dilatation current are found. We show that the dilatation symmetry and dual symmetry are broken in the model suggested. We have investigated the gauge covariant quantization of the nonlinear electrodynamics fields as well as the gauge fixing approach based on Dirac's brackets.  相似文献

We study the behavior of the spatial and temporal 't Hooft loop at zero and finite temperature in the 4D SU(2) Yang-Mills theory, using a new numerical method. In the deconfined phase T > T(c), the spatial 't Hooft loop exhibits a dual string tension, which vanishes at T(c) with a 3D Ising-like critical exponent.  相似文献

We present a piecewise- linear map of the unit interval in which the resolvent of the Frobenius- Perron operator, considered in a polynomial basis, has an essen-tial singularity at the origin. Associated with the essential singularity are polynomial shift states, which are obtained from creation and annihilation operators in non- self- dual function spaces. Correlation functions of general polynomial observables have decay components that vanish in a finite time.  相似文献
