The χ(b)(nP) quarkonium states are produced in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at sqrt[s] = 7 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector. Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.4 fb(-1), these states are reconstructed through their radiative decays to Υ(1S,2S) with Υ → μ+ μ-. In addition to the mass peaks corresponding to the decay modes χ(b)(1P,2P) → Υ(1S)γ, a new structure centered at a mass of 10.530 ± 0.005(stat) ± 0.009(syst) GeV is also observed, in both the Υ(1S)γ and Υ(2S)γ decay modes. This structure is interpreted as the χ(b)(3P) system.  相似文献

We perform aB \(\bar B\) coupled channel analysis in the upsilon region in order to predict \(B^0 - \bar B^0 \) mixing as a function of the incidente + e ? energy. We determine the parameters of the QCD-motivated quarkonium potential, and of the quark-pair creation model used to describe Υ→B \(\bar B\) decays, by fitting to the observed upsilon mass spectrum. We show the contributions of the individual decay channels and study the sensitivity of the predictions to theB meson masses. We conclude that the rate forB 0 B 0 (or \(\bar B^0 \bar B^0 \) ) events should be comparable at Υ(5S) to that at Υ(4S).  相似文献

We search for single-photon decays of the Υ(1S) resonance, Υ → γ + invisible, where the invisible state is either a particle of definite mass, such as a light Higgs boson A?, or a pair of dark matter particles, χχ. Both A? and χ are assumed to have zero spin. We tag Υ(1S) decays with a dipion transition Υ(2S) → π?π?Υ(1S) and look for events with a single energetic photon and significant missing energy. We find no evidence for such processes in the mass range m(A?) ≤ 9.2 GeV and m(χ) ≤ 4.5 GeV in the sample of 98 × 10? Υ(2S) decays collected with the BABAR detector and set stringent limits on new physics models that contain light dark matter states.  相似文献

We report the observation of two narrow structures in the mass spectra of the π(±)Υ(nS) (n=1, 2, 3) and π(±)h(b)(mP) (m=1, 2) pairs that are produced in association with a single charged pion in Υ(5S) decays. The measured masses and widths of the two structures averaged over the five final states are M(1)=(10,607.2±2.0) MeV/c2, Γ(1)=(18.4±2.4) MeV, and M(2)=(10,652.2±1.5) MeV/c2, Γ(2)=(11.5±2.2) MeV. The results are obtained with a 121.4 fb(-1) data sample collected with the Belle detector in the vicinity of the Υ(5S) resonance at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider.  相似文献

Inspired by the P_(cs)(4459) reported by the LHCb collaboration recently,we investigate the P_(cs)(4459) production from Ξ_b decay in a molecular scenario using an effective Lagrangian approach.With different J~P assignments to P_(cs)(4459),the magnitude of branching fractions of Ξ_b→ P_(cs)(4459)K is estimated,which is of the order of 10-4.Together with the decay properties of P_(cs)(4459),the present estimations could be further testified by precise measurements and contribute to a better understanding of the molecular interpretations and the exploration of J~P quantum numbers of P_(cs)(4459).  相似文献

A new observable, the angle between ■ decay planes, is proposed to test the theoretical predictions on the spin correlation. The hadronic decays ,and ωf2(1270) have been studied in a sample of 1.27 million produced.Measurements of their branching fractions are presented. While obeys the "14% rule" predicted by theory, →ωf2 (1270) is suppressed comparing with the corresponding decay. As a vector-tensor pair combination, the ωf2 mode is the first example of a non-vector-pseudoscalar decay of charmonium which violates the above mentioned rule.  相似文献

The emission angle and the transverse momentum distributions of projectile fragments produced in the fragmentation of 56Fe on CH2, C and Al targets at 471 A MeV are measured. It is found that for the same target, the average value and width of the angular distribution decrease with an increase of the projectile fragment charge; for the same projectile fragment, the average value of the distribution increases and the width of the distribution decreases with increasing the target charge number. The transverse momentum distribution of a projectile fragment can be explained by a single Gaussian distribution and the averaged transverse momentum per nucleon decreases with the increase of the charge of projectile fragment. The cumulated squared transverse momentum distribution of a projectile fragment can be explained well by a single Rayleigh distribution. The temperature parameter of the emission source of the projectile fragment, calculated from the cumulated squared transverse momentum distribution, decreases with the increase of the size of the projectile fragment.  相似文献

The first detailed measurements of the centrality dependence of strangeness production in p-A collisions are presented. Lambda and K(S) dn/dy distributions from 17.5 GeV/ c p-Au collisions are shown as a function of "grey" track multiplicity and the estimated number of collisions, nu, made by the proton. In the context of the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model, we have studied the charged Higgs bosons production processes e+e-(γγ)→tbφ- at the International Linear Collider (ILC). It is found that the cross sections of these two processes could reach a few fb with reasonable parameter values. With the yearly integrated luminosity of L=500 fb-1 expected at the ILC, one could collect hundreds up to thousands of charged Higgs events via these two processes. Therefore, our researches in this paper can help us search for charged Higgs bosons, and furthermore, to test the LRTH model.  相似文献

The decay constant for the vector state of 3S-level in the heavy (

We have reconstructed the radiative decays chi(b)(1P)-->Upsilon(1S)gamma and chi(b)(2P)-->Upsilon(1S)gamma in p&pmacr; collisions at sqrt[s] = 1.8 TeV, and measured the fraction of Upsilon(1S) mesons that originate from these decays. For Upsilon(1S) mesons with p(Upsilon)(T)>8.0 GeV/c, the fractions that come from chi(b)(1P) and chi(b)(2P) decays are [27.1+/-6.9(stat)+/-4. 4(syst)]% and [10.5+/-4.4(stat)+/-1.4(syst)]%, respectively. We have derived the fraction of directly produced Upsilon(1S) mesons to be [50.9+/-8.2(stat)+/-9.0(syst)]%.  相似文献

X-ray initiated molecular photochemistry for SiCl4 and CCl4 adsorbed on Si(1 0 0) at ∼90 K following Cl 2p core-level excitation is investigated by photon stimulated ion desorption and ion kinetic energy distribution measurements. The Cl excitation of solid SiCl4 induces the significant enhancement (∼900%) of the Cl+ yield, while the Cl excitation of condensed CCl4 leads to a moderate enhancement (∼500%) of the Cl+ yield. The enhancement of Cl+ yield at the specific core-excited states is strongly correlated to the ion escaped energy. Upon X-ray exposure for CCl4 adsorbed on Si(1 0 0) (20-L exposure), the Cl+ yields at resonances decrease and new structures at higher photon energies are observed. Cl+ yields at these new resonances are significantly enhanced compared to those at other resonances. These changes are the results of desorption and surface reaction of the CCl4-Si surface complex due to X-ray irradiation. We have demonstrated that state-specific enhancement of ion desorption can be successfully applied to characterize the reaction dynamics of adsorbates adsorbed on surfaces by X-ray irradiation.  相似文献

We study the twist-three fragmentation function contribution to the single transverse spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production in pp   collisions, pp→h+Xpph+X. In particular, we calculate the associated derivative terms which dominate the spin asymmetries in these processes. With certain parameterizations for the twist-three fragmentation function, we estimate its contribution to the single spin asymmetry of π0π0 production at RHIC energy. We find that the contribution is sizable and might be responsible for the big difference between the asymmetries in η   and π0π0 productions observed by the STAR collaboration at RHIC.  相似文献

In this paper,we investigate the production of a pair of doubly charged leptons associated with a gauge boson V(γ or Z) at future linear colliders via e~+e~-and γγ collisions.The numerical results show that the possible signals of the doubly charged leptons may be detected via the processes e~+e~→VX~(++)X~(--)and γγ→VX~(++)X~(--)at future ILC or CLIC experiments.  相似文献
