Transport characteristics of relativistic electrons through graphene-based d-wave superconducting double barrier junction and ferromagnet/d-wave superconductor/normal metal double junction have been investigated based on the Dirac–Bogoliubov–de Gennes equation. We have first presented the results of superconducting double barrier junction. In the subgap regime, both the crossed Andreev and nonlocal tunneling conductance all oscillate with the bias voltage due to the formation of Andreev bound states in the normal metal region. Moreover, the critical voltage beyond which the crossed Andreev conductance becomes to zero decreases with increasing value of superconducting pair potential α. In the presence of the ferromagnetism, the MR through graphene-based ferromagnet/ d-wave superconductor/normal metal double junction has been investigated. It is shown that the MR increases from exchange splitting h 0=0 to h 0=E F (Fermi energy), and then it goes down. At h 0=E F, MR reaches its maximum 100. In contrast to the case of a single superconducting barrier, Andreev bound states also manifest itself in the zero bias MR, which result in a series of peaks except the maximum one at h 0=E F. Besides, the resonance peak of the MR can appear at certain bias voltage and structure parameter. Those phenomena mean that the coherent transmission can be tuned by superconducting pair potential, structure parameter, and external bias voltage, which benefits the spin-polarized electron device based on the graphene materials.  相似文献

A detailed study of point contact tunnelling into ceramic YBCO with electrochemically etched tips of Pt, Nb and W is reported. The superconducting gap parameter (Δ) has been extracted fromIV and dI/dVV curves using various procedures. Our results indicate a gap value of about 20 meV. We observe that the zero bias conductance is strongly dependent on the junction resistance. The normal state conductance varies linearly with bias voltage and the conductance curves are asymmetric with respect to polarity of the bias voltage. With contacts of very high junction resistance, we observe G(0)/G(100 mV) has a value as low as 1/6. This may be the lowest value reported so far.  相似文献

In this paper, spin-switch effect under the influence of anisotropic pairing symmetry is investigated. It is shown that the non-local conductance is sensitive to the exchange splitting, the incident energy, and the orientation of the superconducting gap. With the increase of the exchange splitting from zero to Fermi energy, the crossed Andreev reflection conductance for parallel configuration of magnetization and the elastic co-tunneling conductance for antiparallel configuration of magnetization are suppressed to a vanishing value. When the exchange splitting equates to Fermi energy, for values of the orientation of d-wave superconducting gap in the k-space very close to π / 4, magnitude of the spin-switch effect is suppressed completely. Moreover, in contrast to the single graphene-based ferromagnet/superconductor junction case, a π / 2 periodic oscillatory behavior about the barrier is observed directly in the present spin valve. The physical origination for those phenomena has also been analyzed.  相似文献

Electron tunneling spectroscopy of the organic superconductor κ-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2using low temperature scanning tunneling microscope (STM) is reported. The tunneling differential conductance in the superconducting phase was obtained in thebcplane of a single crystal, by varying the tip position on the sample surface. The differential conductance is reduced near zero bias voltage and enhanced at the gap edge, associated with the superconducting gap structure below[formula] K. The gap width differs slightly from sample to sample, while the overall functional shape of the conductance is sample-independent. The tunneling conductance is reduced to almost zero near zero bias voltage, while it is finite inside the gap edge. The curve obtained cannot be fit to the BCS density of states withs-wave pairing symmetry, even if the life-time broadening of one-electron levels is taken into account. Finite conductance inside the gap edge suggests anisotropy of the gap. However, the conductance curve obtained is not explained by a simpled-wave symmetry for Δ(k). The reduced conductance near zero bias voltage suggests a finite gap. An anisotropic model with a finite gap, in which Δ(k) varies depending on the direction ink-space, is examined. The tunneling conductance in the low-energy region is almost fit by the model with Δmin = 2 meV and Δmax = 6 meV. The finite conductance is explained by introducing a small effect of life time broadening. We conclude that the gap is anisotropic and is finite (at least Δmin = 2 meV) on the entire Fermi surface.  相似文献

Charge transport in the normal metal/insulator/diffusive ferromagnet/insulator/s-wave superconductor (N/I/DF/I/S) junctions is studied for various situations solving the Usadel equation under the Nazarov's generalized boundary condition. Conductance of the junction is calculated by changing the magnitude of the resistance in DF, Thouless energy in DF, the exchange field in DF, the transparencies of the insulating barriers. We have found a new broad peak around zero voltage as well as zero bias conductance peak splitting and dip splitting.  相似文献

We investigate the equilibrium spin transport in a ferromagnet/noncentrosymmetric superconductor (FM/NCS) junction where the NCS has a dominant triplet order parameter and helical edge state. Based on the symmetry analysis and numerical calculation, we demonstrate that there is a nonzero spin supercurrent flowing in the junction, which stems from the exchange coupling between the FM magnetization and triplet Cooper-pair spin. It is also found that a transverse spin current other than the helical edge spin current is flowing along the interface of the junction, and its polarization is related to the longitudinal spin supercurrent. Besides, an equilibrium Hall current is also shown to flow along the junction’s interface due to the broken time-reversal symmetry from the FM.  相似文献

The amplitudes of the nonstationary Josephson current I 1, the interference current I 2, and the quasiparticle current J through symmetric and asymmetric tunnel junctions, including superconductors with charge density waves, are calculated. In the symmetric (s) case the dependence of the Josephson current I s 1 on the voltage V on the junction has a logarithmic singularity at |eV|=2Δ, Δ+D, and 2D, where , Δ and Σ are the superconducting and dielectric order parameters, and e is the unit charge. At temperatures T≠0 jumps appear in the current-voltage characteristics I s 1 (V) at |eV|=D−Δ. Jumps and singularities are observed in the currents I s 2 and J s at the same voltages at which singularities and jumps appear in I s 1 , respectively. In the nonsymmetric (ns) junctions which include an ordinary superconductor, singularities and jumps occur at |eV|=DBCS, Δ+ΔBCS, and (for T≠0) |D−ΔBCS| and |Δ−ΔBCS|, where ΔBCS is the order parameter of an ordinary superconductor. The quasiparticle current J ns is an asymmetric function of the voltage V and does not depend on the sign of Σ. The results are compared with experiment. Fiz. Tverd. This paper applies the Bogoliubov--de Gennes equation and the Blonder--Tinkham--Klapwijk approach to study the oscillatory behaviour of differential conductance in a normal metal/insulator/metal/d-wave superconductor junction carrying a supercurrent Is. We find that (i) a three-humped structure appears at a nearly critical supercurrent Is and z ≈ 0.5 for the normal metal/insulator/metal/d_x2 + y2-wave superconductor junction; (ii) the zero-bias conductance peak splits into two peaks with sufficiently large applied current for the normal metal/insulator/metal/dxy-wave superconductor junction; (iii) the conductance spectrum exhibits oscillating behaviour with the bias voltage and the peaks of the resonances are suppressed by increasing supercurrent Is.  相似文献

We use the spin non-degenerate single impurity Anderson model to investigate the influence of the local spin polarization to the Kondo effect. By using the Schrieffer-Wolff transformation, we obtain a generalized s-d exchange Hamiltonian, which describes the interaction between a polarized local spin and conduction electrons. In this case, the singlet is no longer an eigenstate as shown by variational calculations where the splitting of the local energy Δ = ɛ dɛ d can be arbitrarily small. The local spin polarization generates the instability of the singlet ground state of the S = 1/2 s-d exchange model.   相似文献

The differential tunnel conductance G S of the junction between a normal metal and a superconductor with a charge density wave (CDW) is calculated as a function of the voltage V across the junction. The results are averaged over the spread of superconducting and CDW energy gaps in the nanoscale-inhomogeneous superconductor. It is shown that, if both order parameters are nonzero, a dip-hump structure is formed beyond the superconducting gap of G S (V). If the phase of the CDW order parameter is not equal to π/2, a dip-hump structure will appear solely or mainly for one sign of the bias polarity. The results agree with the experimental data for Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ and other high-temperature oxides  相似文献

Transport properties of self-doped La0.89MnO3 single crystals with Néel temperature of TN ≈139 K have been investigated in wide temperature range 10–300 K. Data suggests that current at low temperature is conducted through a strongly temperature-dependent, but almost bias independent channel operating in parallel with a bias controlled but temperature independent channel. The first channel is associated with transport across an insulating antiferromagnetic matrix while the latter one represents tunnel conductivity through intrinsic tunnel junctions appearing due to interruption of conducting percolating paths by phase separated insulating inclusions. Tunnel character of the conductivity manifests itself in nonlinear current-voltage characteristics and appearance of a zero-bias anomaly in the form of a prominent conductance peak in the vicinity of zero bias. Zero bias anomaly and V-shaped characteristics of the differential conductance at high voltages are ascribed to the formation of local magnetic states in the insulating region of the tunneling junction.  相似文献

A microscopic theory of interplay of superconductivity and antiferromagnetism in rare earth ternary systems is developed from first principles for less than half filledf atomic shells. Self consistent equations for the superconducting order parameter Δ and magnetic order parameter Γ, are derived using a Green’s function technique and equation of motion method. The theory is applied to explain the experimental results in the antiferromagnetic superconductor SmRh4B4. The present model explains true coexistence of superconductivity and antiferromagnetism and the suppression of superconductivity by antiferromagnetism. The behaviour of superconducting order parameter (Δ), magnetic order parameter (Γ), the specific heat, the density of states, free energy and critical field (H c) is also studied for the system SmRh4B4.  相似文献

This article reports on the study of the interplay between magnetic coupling and spin transition in 2,2′-bipyrimidine (bpym)-bridged iron(II) dinuclear compounds. Coexistence of both phenomena has been observed in [Fe(bpym)(NCS)2]2bpym, [Fe(bpym)(NCSe)2]2bpym and [Fe(bt)(NCS)2]2bpym (bpym = 2,2′-bipyrimidine, bt = 2,2′-bithiazoline) by the action of external physical factors namely pressure or electromagnetic radiation. Competition between magnetic exchange and spin crossover has been studied in [Fe(bpym)(NCS)2]2bpym at 6.3 kbar. LIESST experiments carried out in [Fe(bpym)(NCSe)2]2bpym and [Fe(bt)(NCS)2]2bpym at 4.2 K have shown that is possible to achieve dinuclear molecules with different spin states in this class of compounds. The conductance of a junction between a normal metal and a superconductor having the symmetry proposed by Berezinskii is studied theoretically. The main feature of this symmetry is the odd frequency dependence of the anomalous Green’s function, which makes possible the s-wave triplet superconducting state (the Berezinskii superconductor). The Andreev reflection (which links positive and negative energies) is sensitive to the energetic symmetry; as a result, the conductance of the junction involving the Berezinskii superconductor is qualitatively different from the case of a conventional superconductor. Experimentally, the obtained results can be employed to test the possibility of the Berezinskii superconductivity proposed for Na x CoO2 and to identify the odd-ω component predicted for superconductor-ferromagnet systems.  相似文献

A crystal-engineering approach to organic ferrimagnets is reported. Coulombic energy between an anionic biradical withS = 1 and a cationic monoradical withS = 1/2 can be utilized as a driving force of cocrystallization of open-shell molecules with different spin quantum numbers, leading to organic salt ferrimagnets. In this study, 3,5-substituted phenol and benzoic acid derivatives of nitronyl nitroxide biradicals were synthesized as an ionizableS = 1 component of organic salt ferrimagnets. The molecular ground states of the biradicals in the neutral state were examined by continuous wave electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy and static paramagnetic susceptibility measurements in the solid state. The molecular ground state of the phenol derivative was found to be triplet (S = 1) with the singlet-triplet energy gap of ΔE/kB ≈ 25 K, indicating that the biradical can be a building block of organic salt ferrimagnetics. The benzoic acid derivative was found to have a singlet (S = 0) ground state (ΔE/kB −5 K), exemplifying thatmeta-(3,5)-linkage of unpaired electrons in π-aromatic rings does not necessarily give a triplet ground state for heteroatomic-substituted π conjugation. The molecular ground states of the biradicals determined in the ESR experiments were confirmed by the susceptibility in the solid state.  相似文献

By making a combination of both point contact and barrier type tunnel junctions on a single sample of the highT c superconductor BSCCO (2212) single crystal, we have shown that as the tunneling tip is slowly retracted from the surface a point contact junction gradually evolves from a N-S short to a high resistance tunnel junction. The scaled dynamic conductance (dI/dV) of this point contact tunnel junction becomes almost identical to that of a conventional barrier type tunnel junction and both show a linear dI/dVV curve. The observation implies that at high resistance a point contact junction behaves in the same way as a barrier type tunnel junction. We suggested that the almost linear tunneling conductance obtained in both the cases most likely arises due to an intrinsic characteristic of the surface of the crystal comprising of a mosaic of superconducting regions of the order of a few nanometers. We also conclude that the barrierless (N-S) point contact obtained by piercing the surface oxide layer of the crystal shows Andreev reflection which we suggest as the origin of the zero bias anomaly often observed in point contact junctions.  相似文献

The three thermal rate equations were built newly up at both ends and at the junction of a pn diode, in order to derive analytically the temperature difference ΔT (between a junction and both ends) and the internal cooling efficiency η defined newly for a homojunction diode. The maxima ΔT and η of a diode were derived analytically as a function of V j within the short-length approximation and calculated numerically as a function of V j or V bi, where V j is a voltage across the junction and V bi is a built-in voltage at the junction. As a result, ΔT increases abruptly with an increase of V j below V j=0.050 V or of V bi below V bi=0.10 V, while above their values, it increases slowly with an increase of V j or V bi to saturate a certain value. For example, ΔT was estimated as 14.6 K for Hg0.8Cd0.2Te diode with V bi=0.36 V. η has a local maximum of 63% at V j≈0.01 V or at V bi≈0.03 V, while above their respective values, it decreases abruptly with an increase of V j or V bi and falls to 4.4% at V bi=0.80 V which is equivalent to that of a diode emitting a laser for fiber optical communication. However, the greater enhancements in ΔT and η of a diode are required to apply the internal cooling system to a laser-emitting diode which needs the exact control of temperature. These results should be useful for the application of the internal cooling system to the double heterojunction diode used in the optical communication.  相似文献

The recent neutron scattering data for spin-wave dispersion in HoMnO3 are well-described by an anisotropic Hubbard model on a triangular lattice with a planar (XY) spin anisotropy. Best fit indicates that magnetic excitations in HoMnO3 correspond to the strong-coupling limit U/t >∼ 15, with planar exchange energy J = 4t 2 /U ≃ 2.5 meV and planar anisotropy ΔU ≃ 0.35 meV.   相似文献
