We investigated the tendency in the variations of CFT2 when a rotating AdS3 black hole changes because of the fluxes transferred by the scattering of a massive scalar field according to the anti-de Sitter (AdS)/conformal field theory (CFT) correspondence. The conserved quantities of the black hole are definitely constrained by the extremal condition. Moreover, the laws of thermodynamics provide a direction for the changes in the conserved quantities. Therefore, the black hole cannot be extremal under the scattering; this is naturally preferred. According to the relationship between the rotating AdS3 black hole and dual CFT2, we find that such changes in the black hole constrain the variations in the eigenstates of dual CFT2. Furthermore, the tendency in the variations is closely related to the laws of thermodynamics.  相似文献

We have investigated the hidden conformal symmetry of generic non-extremal rotating black holes in the five-dimensional Gödel universe. In a range of parameters, the low-frequency massless scalar wave equation in the “near region” can be described by an SL(2, R) L × SL(2, R) R conformal symmetry. We further found that the microscopic entropy via Cardy formula matches the macroscopic Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the absorption cross section for the massless scalar also agrees with the one for the two dimensional finite temperature conformal field theory (CFT). All these evidences support the conjecture that the generic non-extremal rotating black hole immersed in the Gödel universe can be dual to a two dimensional finite temperature CFT. In addition, we have reformulated the first laws of thermodynamics associated with the inner and outer horizons of the rotating Gödel-type black holes into the forms of conformal thermodynamics.  相似文献

The nonlinear realization of conformal so(2,d) symmetry for relativistic systems and the dynamical conformal so(2,1) symmetry of nonrelativistic systems are investigated in the context of AdS/CFT correspondence. We show that the massless particle in d-dimensional Minkowski space can be treated as the system confined to the border of the AdSd+1 of infinite radius, while various nonrelativistic systems may be canonically related to a relativistic (massless, massive, or tachyon) particle on the AdS2 × Sd−1. The list of nonrelativistic systems “unified” by such a correspondence comprises the conformal mechanics model, the planar charge-vortex and three-dimensional charge-monopole systems, the particle in a planar gravitational field of a point massive source, and the conformal model associated with the charged particle propagating near the horizon of the extreme Reissner-Nordström black hole.  相似文献

We extend the recently proposed Kerr/CFT correspondence to examine the dual conformal field theory of four-dimensional Kaluza–Klein black hole in Einstein–Maxwell–Dilaton theory. For the extremal Kaluza–Klein black hole, the central charge and temperature of the dual conformal field are calculated following the approach of Guica, Hartman, Song and Strominger. Meanwhile, we show that the microscopic entropy given by the Cardy formula agrees with Bekenstein–Hawking entropy of extremal Kaluza–Klein black hole. For the non-extremal case, by studying the near-region wave equation of a neutral massless scalar field, we investigate the hidden conformal symmetry of Kaluza–Klein black hole, and find the left and right temperatures of the dual conformal field theory. Furthermore, we find that the entropy of non-extremal Kaluza–Klein black hole is reproduced by Cardy formula.  相似文献

Motivated by the recent work of the hidden conformal symmetry of the Kerr black hole, we investigate the hidden conformal symmetry of a Kerr–Sen black hole and a Kerr–Newman–Kasuya black hole. Our result shows the conformal symmetry is spontaneously broken due to the periodicity of the azimuthal angle. The absorption across section is in consistence with the finite temperature absorption cross section for a 2D CFT. The entropies of the black holes are reproduced by the Cardy formula.  相似文献

Rotating maximal black holes in four-dimensional de Sitter space, for which the outer event horizon coincides with the cosmological horizon, have an infinite near-horizon region described by the rotating Nariai metric. We show that the asymptotic symmetry group at the spacelike future boundary of the near-horizon region contains a Virasoro algebra with a real, positive central charge. This is evidence that quantum gravity in a rotating Nariai background is dual to a two-dimensional Euclidean conformal field theory. These results are related to the Kerr/CFT correspondence for extremal black holes, but have two key differences: one of the black hole event horizons has been traded for the cosmological horizon, and the near-horizon geometry is a fiber over dS2 rather than AdS2.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the AdS 5 black hole at the \(\mathcal{N}=2\) supergravity background. By using the AdS/CFT correspondence we discuss about the quasi-normal modes of the scalar field in the black hole, which is dual of the scalar glueballs spectrum on the boundary. We obtain phase transition conditions from stable to unstable theory, which interpreted as confinement and deconfinement states in the QCD. We obtain the specific heat in terms of the temperature and charge of black hole, we find the temperature where the black hole is stable. Also we rewrite the equation of motion in the Schrödinger form and discuss the effective potential.  相似文献

We study the amplitude for exchange of massless gauge bosons between pairs of massive scalar fields in anti-de Sitter space. In the AdS/CFT correspondence this amplitude describes the contribution of conserved flavor symmetry currents to 4-point functions of scalar operators in the boundary conformal theory. A concise, covariant, Y2K compatible derivation of the gauge boson propagator in AdSd + 1 is given. Techniques are developed to calculate the two bulk integrals over AdS space leading to explicit expressions or convenient, simple integral representations for the amplitude. The amplitude contains leading power and sub-leading logarithmic singularities in the gauge boson channel and leading logarithms in the crossed channel. The new methods of this paper are expected to have other applications in the study of the Maldacena conjecture.  相似文献

The explicit form of linearized gauge arid generalized “Weyl invariant” interactions of scalar and general higher even spin fields in the AdS D space constructed in [1] is reviewed. Also a linearized interaction of vector field with general higher even spin, gauge field is obtained. It is shown that the gauge invariant action of linearized vector field interacting with the higher spin field also includes the whole tower of invariant actions for couplings of the same vector field with the gauge fields of smaller even spin.  相似文献

Toward the Kerr/CFT correspondence for the generic non-extremal Kerr black hole, the analysis of scattering amplitudes by near extremal Kerr provides a clue. This pursuit reveals a hidden conformal symmetry in the low frequency wave equation for a scalar field in a certain spacetime region referred to as the near region. For extremal case, the near region is expected to be the near horizon region in which the correspondence via the asymptotic symmetry is studied. We investigate the hidden conformal symmetry in the near horizon limit and consider the relation between the hidden conformal symmetry and the asymptotic symmetry in the near horizon limit. By using an appropriate definition of the quasi-local charge, we obtain the deviation of the entropy from the extremality.  相似文献

We propose a procedure for computing the boundary stress tensor associated with a gravitating system in asymptotically anti-de Sitter space. Our definition is free of ambiguities encountered by previous attempts, and correctly reproduces the masses and angular momenta of various spacetimes. Via the AdS/CFT correspondence, our classical result is interpretable as the expectation value of the stress tensor in a quantum conformal field theory. We demonstrate that the conformal anomalies in two and four dimensions are recovered. The two dimensional stress tensor transforms with a Schwarzian derivative and the expected central charge. We also find a nonzero ground state energy for global AdS5, and show that it exactly matches the Casimir energy of the dual super Yang–Mills theory on S 3×R. The anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory (AdS/CFT) correspondence implies that small perturbations of a black hole correspond to small deviations from thermodynamic equilibrium in a dual field theory. For gauge theories with an Einstein gravity dual, the AdS/CFT correspondence predicts a universal value for the ratio of the shear viscosity to the entropy density, η/s = 1/4π. It was conjectured recently that all fluids conform to the lower bound η/s ≥ 1/4π. This conjectured bound has been the focus of much recent attention. However, despite the flurry of research in this field we still lack a proof for the general validity of the bound. In this essay we show that this mysterious bound is actually a direct outcome of the interplay between gravity, quantum theory, and thermodynamics.  相似文献

We investigate the asymptotic dynamics of topological anti-de Sitter supergravity in two dimensions. Starting from the formulation as a BF theory, it is shown that the AdS2 boundary conditions imply that the asymptotic symmetries form a super-Virasoro algebra. Using the central charge of this algebra in Cardy’s formula, we exactly reproduce the thermodynamical entropy of AdS2 black holes. Furthermore, we show that the dynamics of the dilaton and its superpartner reduces to that of superconformal transformations that leave invariant one chiral component of the stress tensor supercurrent of a two-dimensional conformal field theory. This dynamics is governed by a supersymmetric extension of the de Alfaro-Fubini-Furlan model of conformal quantum mechanics. Finally, two-dimensional de Sitter gravity is also considered, and the dS2 entropy is computed by counting CFT states.  相似文献

It is known, since the 70s, that the large N 't Hooft limit of gauge theories is related to string theories. In 1998, J. M. Maldacena identified precisely such a relation: the so-called AdS/CFT correspondence which speculates a duality between a large N strongly-coupled supersymmetric and conformal Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions and a weakly-coupled string theory defined in a five-dimensional anti-de Sitter AdS5 space-time. This review aims at introducing concepts and methods used to derive, in the framework of the gauge/string correspondence, the interaction potentials of mesons and baryons at zero and finite temperature. The dual string configurations associated with the different kinds of hadrons are described and their behaviours at short and large distances are understood. Although the application of Maldacena's AdS/CFT conjecture to QCD is not straightforward, QCD being neither supersymmetric nor conformal, the AdS/QCD correspondence approach attempts to identify the dual theory of QCD. Especially, the study of heavy quark-antiquark bound-states leads to establish general dual criteria for the confinement.  相似文献

Making use of Achucarro–Ortiz (AO) type of dimensional reduction, we study the topologically massive gravity with a negative cosmological constant on AdS2 spacetimes. For a constant dilaton, this two-dimensional model also admits three AdS2 vacuum solutions, which are related to two AdS3 and warped AdS3 backgrounds with an identification upon uplifting three dimensions. We carry out the perturbation analysis around these backgrounds to find what is a physically propagating field. However, it turns out that there is no propagating massive mode on AdS2 background, in contrast to the Kaluza–Klein (KK) type of dimensional reduction. We note that two dimensionally reduced actions are different and thus, the non-equivalence of their on-shell amplitudes is obtained.  相似文献

The problem of perturbative breakdown of conformal symmetry can be avoided, if a conformally covariant quantum field j{\varphi} on d-dimensional Minkowski spacetime is viewed as the boundary limit of a quantum field f{\phi} on d + 1-dimensional Anti-deSitter spacetime (AdS). We study the boundary limit in renormalized perturbation theory with polynomial interactions in AdS, and point out the differences as compared to renormalization directly on the boundary. In particular, provided the limit exists, there is no conformal anomaly. We compute explicitly the one-loop “fish diagram” on AdS4 by differential renormalization, and calculate the anomalous dimension of the composite boundary field j2{\varphi^2} with bulk interaction kf4{\kappa \phi^4}.  相似文献
