In this paper the even-order quasilinear ordinary differential equation is considered under the hypotheses that n is even, D i )x = (|xi−1 x)′, α i > 0(i = 1,2,…, n), β > 0, and p(t) is a continuous, nonnegative, and eventually nontrivial function on an infinite interval [a, ∞), a > 0. The existence of positive solutions of (1.1) is discussed, and basic results to the classical equation are extended to the more general equation (1.1). In particular, necessary and sufficient integral conditions for the existence of positive solutions of (1.1) are established in the case α 1α2s α n ≠ β. We consider fourth order quasilinear ordinary differential equations. Firstly, we classify positive solutions into four types according to their asymptotic properties. Then we derive existence theorems of positive solutions belonging to each type. Using these results, we can obtain an oscillation criterion, which is our main objective. Moreover, applying such criteria for ordinary differential equations to binary elliptic systems, we establish nonexistence theorems for positive solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the existence of positive periodic solutions to the nonlinear differential equation u(t)+a(t)u(t)=f(t,u(t)),tR, where a:R[0,+) is an ω-periodic continuous function with a(t)0, f:R×[0,+)[0,+) is continuous and f(,u):R[0,+) is also an ω-periodic function for each u[0,+). Using the fixed point index theory in a cone, we get an essential existence result because of its involving the first positive eigenvalue of the linear equation with regard to the above equation.  相似文献

By means of a monotone iterative technique, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the positive solutions for a class of higher conjugate-type fractional differential equation with one nonlocal term. In addition, the iterative sequences of solution and error estimation are also given. In particular, this model comes from economics, financial mathematics and other applied sciences, since the initial value of the iterative sequence can begin from an known function, this is simpler and helpful for computation.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with nonoscillatory solutions of the fourth order quasilinear differential equation
where α > 0, β > 0 and p(t) and q(t) are continuous functions on an infinite interval [a,∞) satisfying p(t) > 0 and q(t) > 0 (ta). The growth bounds near t = ∞ of nonoscillatory solutions are obtained, and necessary and sufficient integral conditions are established for the existence of nonoscillatory solutions having specific asymptotic growths as t→∞.
