A family of eight neutral, pseudotetrahedral piano-stool ruthenium complexes C, of the type [RuCl2(p-cymene)(PArPhR)] (Ar = 1-naphthyl, 9-phenanthryl and 2-biphenylyl; R = Me, i-Pr, OMe, –CH2SiMe3 and –CH2SiPh3) have been prepared and characterised, including the X-ray crystal structure for C6 (Ar = 2-biphenylyl; R = i-Pr). These complexes catalyse the asymmetric hydrogen transfer reaction of acetophenone in refluxing 2-propanol in the presence of potassium tert-butoxyde, reaching full conversions and up to 45% ee after 24 h towards the S enantiomer of 1-phenylethanol. Cationic complexes formed upon treatment of C with one equivalent of AgSbF6 or (Et3O)PF6 are active in the cyclopropanation reaction of styrene and α-methylstyrene by ethyl diazoacetate. Low to moderate conversions (up to 58%), diastereoselectivities (up to 40% de), and moderate enantioselectivities (up to 69% ee) have been found. For both reactions, bulky complexes and C6 in particular lead to the best results.  相似文献

The reaction of the phosphine functionalised titanium half-sandwich complexes 7, 9 and 10 with the binuclear complex [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 allowed the access to three new early-late bimetallic complexes (p-cymene)[(μ-η51-C5H4(CH2)nPR2)TiX3]RuCl2 (11-13). The structure of 11 (n = 0, X = Cl) has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The ruthenium titanium half-sandwich bimetallic complexes so formed and the ruthenium titanocene analogues 4-6 catalyse the addition of ethyl diazoacetate to styrene with high selectivity toward cyclopropanation versus metathesis contrary to the monometallic complexes (p-cymene)RuCl2PR3.  相似文献

The reaction of the tantalocene dichloride monophosphines (1-2) with the binuclear complex [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 gives the heterobimetallic compounds (p-cymene)[(η5-C5H5)(μ-η51-C5H4(CH2)2PR2)TaCl2]RuCl2 (3-4). The air oxidation of these bimetallic species 3-4, leads to the cationic hydroxo tantalum ruthenium derivatives 5-6. The last ones are easily deprotonated by a base to afford the oxo analogues 7-8. A preliminary assessment in catalytic cyclopropanation of styrene with tantalum ruthenium bimetallic complexes 3-8 as precatalysts revealed a cooperative effect with a subtle role of the early metal fragment.  相似文献

Chiral (iminophosphoranyl)ferrocenes (1 and 2) are highly efficient ligands to achieve high diastereoselectivity (up to 95/5 dr in favor of the cis-isomer) as well as enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee) in Ru-catalyzed asymmetric cyclopropanation of various olefins. Reversal in diastereoselectivity is found as a function of metal-to-ligand ratio in the reaction of styrene.  相似文献

Three RuCl26-arene, η1-carbene) and two RuCl2(NHC)(arene) complexes have been prepared by the reaction of bis(1,3-dialkylperhydrobenzimidazol-2-ylidene) (1) and bis(1,3-dialkyl-4-methylzimidazolin-2-ylidene) (3) with [RuCl2(arene)]2 in toluene and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR spectroscopy. The catalytic activities of these complexes were examined in the transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones using 2-propanol as hydrogen source.  相似文献

Chloro-(eta6-arene) complexes of ruthenium(II) with N-sulfonyl-1,2-ethylenediamine ligands that have one or two styrene side chains have been synthesised and characterised. The chloro ligand was substituted with a diphenylphosphinato ligand and the resulting organometallic complexes are transition state analogues for the ruthenium-catalysed transfer hydrogenation of benzophenone. Following the protocol of molecular imprinting, these complexes were copolymerised with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) in the presence of a porogen. The polymers were ground and sieved, and the phosphinato ligand was substituted with a chloro ligand, thus generating a shape-selective cavity in close proximity to the catalytically active metal centre. When tested for their ability to catalyse the reduction of benzophenone, the imprinted polymers showed a significantly higher activity (up to a factor of seven) than control polymers without cavities. Out of a mixture of seven different aromatic and aliphatic ketones, benzophenone was preferentially reduced when the imprinted polymer was used. Furthermore, the specificity of the catalyst for diaryl ketones has been confirmed in a reaction with a bifunctional substrate, 4-acetyl-benzophenone; the diaryl ketone was reduced faster with the imprinted catalyst than the acetyl group. The opposite regioselectivity was observed with the control polymer. Both the activity and the selectivity of the imprinted catalysts are dependent on how the ruthenium complexes are attached to the polymer backbone. A double connection proved to give superior results.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of the terdentate complex [RuCl(CNN)(dppb)] (A) [dppb=Ph(2)P(CH(2))(4)PPh(2); HCNN=6-(4'-methylphenyl)-2-pyridylmethylamine] in the transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone (S) with 2-propanol has been found to be dependent on the base concentration. The limit rate has been observed when NaOiPr is used in high excess (A/base molar ratio > 10). The amino-isopropoxide species [Ru(OiPr)(CNN)(dppb)] (B), which forms by reaction of A with sodium isopropoxide via displacement of the chloride, is catalytically active. The rate of conversion of acetophenone obeys second-order kinetics v=k[S][B] with the rate constants in the range 218+/-8 (40 degrees C) to 3000+/-70 M(-1) s(-1) (80 degrees C). The activation parameters, evaluated from the Eyring equation are DeltaH(++)=14.0+/-0.2 kcal mol(-1) and DeltaS(++)=-3.2 +/-0.5 eu. In a pre-equilibrium reaction with 2-propanol complex B gives the cationic species [Ru(CNN)(dppb)(HOiPr)](+)[OiPr](-) (C) with K approximately 2x10(-5) M. The hydride species [RuH(CNN)(dppb)] (H), which forms from B via beta-hydrogen elimination process, catalyzes the reduction of S and, importantly, its activity increases by addition of base. The catalytic behavior of the hydride H has been compared to that of the system A/NaOiPr (1:1 molar ratio) and indicates that the two systems are equivalent.  相似文献

Complex RuCl2(PPh3)(iBu-BTP) (5) was synthesized by the reaction of 2,6-bis(5,6-bis(iso-butyl)-1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)pyridine (iBu-BTP) and RuCl2(PPh3)3 in refluxing toluene, and its molecular structure was confirmed by X-ray crystallographic determination. Complex 5 was applied as a catalyst for transfer hydrogenation of ketones and exhibited catalytic activity comparable to RuCl2(PPh3)(Me4BPPy) (1) (Me4BPPy = bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)pyridine) in some cases. The difference between the catalytic activity of 5 and 1 is attributed to the significantly different arrangement and positions of the PPh3 and chlorides and also to the different electron density on the N-heterocycles. Complex 1 exhibited good to excellent catalytic activity in hydrogenation of ketones under mild conditions. These results have suggested new applications of iBu-BTP and Me4BPPy as promising planar tridentate pseudo-N3 ligands to construct highly active transition-metal catalysts.  相似文献

We studied the role of alkali cations in the [{RuCl2(p-cymene)}2]-pseudo-dipeptide-catalyzed enantioselective transfer hydrogenation of ketones with isopropanol. Lithium salts were shown to increase the enantioselectivity of the reaction when iPrONa or iPrOK was used as the base. Similar transfer-hydrogenation systems that employ chiral amino alcohol or monotosylated diamine ligands are not affected by the addition of lithium salts. These observations have led us to propose that an alternative reaction mechanism operates in pseudo-dipeptide-based systems, in which the alkali cation is an important player in the ligand-assisted hydrogen-transfer step. DFT calculations of the proposed transition-state (TS) models involving different cations (Li+, Na+, and K+) confirm a considerable loosening of the TS with larger cations. This loosening may be responsible for the fewer interactions between the substrate and the catalytic complex, leading to lower enantiodifferentiation. This mechanistic hypothesis has found additional experimental support; the low ee obtained with [BnNMe3]OH (a large cation) as base can be dramatically improved by introducing lithium cations into the system. Also, the complexation of Na+, K+, and Li+ cations by the addition of [15]crown-5 and [18]crown-6 ethers and cryptand 2.1.1 (which selectively bind to these cations and, thus, increase their bulkiness), respectively, to the reaction mixture led to a significant drop in the enantioselectivity of the reaction. The lithium effect has proved useful for enhancing the reduction of different aromatic and heteroaromatic ketones.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterization of the first ruthenium phosphoramidite allenylidene complexes that are chiral at the metal are described. The precursor complex [RuCl(Ind)(PPh3)2] (Ind = indenyl anion) was reacted with 1 equiv of different chiral phosphoramidite ligands L to give complexes of the general formula [RuCl(Ind)(PPh3)L]. These complexes are stereogenic at the metal and at the ligand L. One of these complexes was obtained in diastereomeric purity, and was subsequently converted to allenylidene complexes of the general formula [RuCCCR′R(Ind)(PPh3)L]+PF6 (R = R′ = Ph; R = Ph, R′ = Me) in diastereomeric purity. As shown by X-ray, the chiral information is completely transferred from the precursor complex to the allenylidenes, which is of importance for potential catalytic applications.  相似文献

A new and versatile class of unsymmetrical ferrocenyl-phosphinite ligands possessing a stereogenic center has been prepared from commercially available, inexpensive aminoacids such as, d-, l-phenylglycine and d-, l-phenylalanine, through a concise synthetic procedure. These ligands are not very sensitive to air and moisture, and display good enantioselectivities in the ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone derivatives, in which up to 91% ee was obtained. A comparison of the catalytic properties of amino alcohols and other analogues based on a ferrocenyl backbone is also discussed briefly. The structures of these ligands and their corresponding complexes have been elucidated by a combination of multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.  相似文献

Metal-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation is a powerful and practical method for the reduction of ketones to produce the corresponding secondary alcohols, which are valuable building blocks in the pharmaceutical, perfume, and agrochemical industries. Hence, a series of novel chiral β-amino alcohols were synthesized by chiral amines with regioselective ring opening of (S)-propylene oxide or reaction with (S)-(+)-2-hydroxypropyl p-toluenesulfonate by a straightforward method. The chiral ruthenium catalytic systems generated from [Ru(arene)(μ-Cl)Cl]2 complexes and chiral phosphinite ligands based on amino alcohol derivatives were employed in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones to give the corresponding optically active alcohols; (2S)-1-{[(2S)-2-[(diphenylphosphanyl)oxy]propyl][(1R)-1-phenylethyl]amino}propan-2-yldiphenylphosphinitobis[dichol-oro(η6-benzene)ruthenium(II)] acts an excellent catalyst in the reduction of α-naphthyl methyl ketone, giving the corresponding alcohol with up to 99% ee. The substituents on the backbone of the ligands were found to have a remarkable effect on both the conversion and enantioselectivity of the catalysts. Furthermore, this transfer hydrogenation is characterized by low reversibility under these conditions.  相似文献

A series of mononuclear organoruthenium complexes of the type [RuX(PPh3)2(L)] (X = Cl or Br; L = 2-(arylazo)phenolate ligand) have been synthesized from the reaction of five 2-(arylazo)phenol ligands with ruthenium(III) precursors, viz. [RuCl3(PPh3)3] and [RuBr3(PPh3)2(CH3OH)] in benzene under reflux. In all these reactions, the 2-(arylazo)phenolate ligand replaces one triphenylphosphine molecule, two chlorides or bromides and one methanol from the precursors leading to five-membered cyclometallated species. The 2-(arylazo)phenol ligands behave as dianionic tridentate C, N, O donors and coordinated to ruthenium by dissociation of the phenolic proton and the phenyl proton at the ortho position of the phenyl ring. The compositions of the complexes have been established by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurement, FT-IR, UV-Vis and EPR spectral data. These complexes are paramagnetic and shows intense d-d and charge transfer transitions in chloroform. The solution EPR spectrum of the complex 7 in dichloromethane at 77 K shows rhombic distortion around the ruthenium ion. The structural conformation of the complex 1 has been carried out by X-ray crystallography. The redox behavior of the complexes has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry and the potentials are observed with respect to the electronic nature of substituents (R) in the 2-(arylazo) phenolate ligands. These complexes catalyze transfer hydrogenation of benzophenone to benzhydrol with up to 99.5% in the presence of i-prOH/KOH. Further, these complexes have shown great promise in inhibiting the growth of both Gram +ve and Gram −ve bacteria, viz. Staphylococcus aureus NCIM 2079 and Escherichia coli NCIM 2065 and fungus Candida albicans NCIM 3102.  相似文献

Thermal reactions between [RuCl2(diene)]n (diene = 2,5-norbornadiene, nbd; 1,5-cyclooctadiene, cod) with an excess of N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylene diamine (tmeda) afforded derivatives [RuCl2(diene)(tmeda)] (diene = nbd, 1; cod, 2) as a mixture of cis and trans isomers. When thermolysis was performed under H2 mixtures of hydride species [RuCl(H)(diene)(tmeda)] (diene = nbd, 3; cod, 4) and the bis-tmeda adduct trans-[RuCl2(tmeda)2] (5) were obtained in different ratios depending upon the reaction conditions and reaction times. Heating polymeric Ru(II) precursors in toluene in the presence of a 5-fold excess of the bulkier N,N,N',N'-tetraethylethylene diamine (teeda) resulted in a rare diamine dealkylation process with formation of trans-[RuCl2(nbd)(Et2NCH2CH2NHEt)] (6) and trans-[RuCl2(cod)(EtHNCH2CH2NHEt)] (7) in high yields. The presence of N-H functionalities in the coordinated diamine ligands of 6 and 7 was unambiguously established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The dealkylation process of the teeda ligand seems to proceed intramolecularly as shown by solution NMR studies performed with the soluble Ru(II) precursors trans-[RuCl2(amine)2(diene)] (diene = nbd, amine = morpholine, 9; diene = cod, amine = Et2NH, 10). The above complexes [RuCl2(diene)(diamine)] have been tested as precatalysts in the hydrogenation of ketones both for transfer as well as direct hydrogenation, the latter route being the most effective.  相似文献

The cyclopropanation reaction of chromium Fischer carbene complexes with alkenyl oxazolines has been studied in both racemic and enantioselective fashions. The oxazolinyl group acts as both electron-acceptor substituent and chiral auxiliary. Achiral (4,4-dimethyloxazolin-2-yl)alkenes derived from trans-crotonic and trans-cinnamic acids 2a,b undergo the cyclopropanation reaction to give 4a-d,g with excellent diastereoselectivity (trans/cis ratio between 93:7 and >97:3), while those derived from acrylic and metacrylic acids 2c,d give the cyclopropanes 4e,f,h with much lower selectivity (trans/cis ratio between 68:32 and 83:17). The homogeneous catalytic hydrogenolysis of 4 leads in a selective manner to 5 or 6, depending on the nature of the R3 substituent. The removal of the oxazoline moiety is achieved by carboxybenzylation/hydrolysis and ester reduction, yielding monoprotected 1,4- and 1,3-diols 9 and 11, respectively. The alkenes derived from enantiopure (S)-valinol and (S)-tert-leucinol 3 led to cyclopropanes trans-12 with high relative and absolute stereocontrol. Using tert-leucinol as the auxiliary permits attaining total facial stereoselectivity (>98% ee). Reductive cleavage of the cyclopropane ring and removal of the auxiliary afford the enriched alcohols (3S,4S)-9 and (S)-11. The stereochemical outcome of the cyclopropanation reaction is rationalized by a trans approach of the s-cis conformer of the alkenyl oxazoline to the carbene complex involving the less hindered face of the oxazoline auxiliary and the re-face of the carbene complex.  相似文献
