In this paper, we investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a diffusive predator-prey system with herd behaviour. The model is described by introducing both time delay and nonlocal prey intraspecific competition. Compared to the model without time delay, or without nonlocal competition, thanks to the together action of time delay and nonlocal competition, we prove that the first critical value of Hopf bifurcation may be homogenous or non-homogeneous. We also show that a double-Hopf bifurcation occurs at the intersection point of the homogenous and non-homogeneous Hopf bifurcation curves. Furthermore, by the computation of normal forms for the system near equilibria, we investigate the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Numerical simulations also show that the spatially homogeneous and non-homogeneous periodic patters.  相似文献

In this paper, the Leslie-Gower predator-prey system with two delays is investigated. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcations can occur as the delay crosses some critical values. In addition, special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcations. Using a global Hopf bifurcation theorem for functional differential equations, we show the global existence of periodic solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distributed ranges of eigenvalues of characteristic linearized equation. Using communication delay as the bifurcation parameter, linear stability criteria dependent on communication delay have also been derived, and, furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcation as well as stability of periodic solution for the exponential RED algorithm with communication delay is studied. We find that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the communication delay passes a sequence of critical values. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study bifurcation of an Internet congestion control algorithm, namely REM (Random Exponential Marking) algorithm, with communication delay. By choosing the delay constant as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that REM algorithm exhibits Hopf bifurcation. The formulas for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are obtained by applying the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory. Finally, a numerical simulation is present to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this article, we study a reaction-diffusion predator-prey model that describes intraguild predation. We mainly consider the effects of time delay and cross-fractional diffusion on dynamical behavior. By using delay as the bifurcation parameter, we perform a detailed Hopf bifurcation analysis and derive the algorithm for determining the direction and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. We also demonstrate that proper cross-fractional diffusion can induce Turing pattern, and the smaller the order of fractional diffusion is, the more easily Turing pattern is able to occur.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a reaction–diffusion–advection model with time delay effect. The stability/instability of the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state and the associated Hopf bifurcation are investigated when the given parameter of the model is near the principle eigenvalue of an elliptic operator. Our results imply that time delay can make the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state unstable for a reaction–diffusion–advection model, and the model can exhibit oscillatory pattern through Hopf bifurcation. The effect of advection on Hopf bifurcation values is also considered, and our results suggest that Hopf bifurcation is more likely to occur when the advection rate increases.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a regulated logistic growth model. We first consider the linear stability and the existence of a Hopf bifurcation. We show that Hopf bifurcations occur as the delay τ passes through critical values. Then, using the normal form theory and center manifold reduction, we derive the explicit algorithm determining the direction of Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper, we apply a non-standard finite difference scheme to a time-delayed model of speculative asset markets and discuss the effect of time delay on the dynamics of asset prices. Firstly, the stability of the positive equilibrium of the system is investigated by analysing the characteristic equation. By choosing the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that Hopf bifurcations occur when the delay passes a sequence of critical values. Then, the explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are derived. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to verify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

The present paper is concerned with a delayed predator–prey diffusion system with a Beddington–DeAngelis functional response and homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. If the positive constant steady state of the corresponding system without delay is stable, by choosing the delay as the bifurcation parameter, we can show that the increase of the delay can not only cause spatially homogeneous Hopf bifurcation at the positive constant steady state but also give rise to spatially heterogeneous ones. In particular, under appropriate conditions, we find that the system has a Bogdanov–Takens singularity at the positive constant steady state, whereas this singularity does not occur for the corresponding system without diffusion. In addition, by applying the normal form theory and center manifold theorem for partial functional differential equations, we give normal forms of Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation and the explicit formula for determining the properties of spatial Hopf bifurcations.  相似文献

The dynamics of a food-limited population model with delay are investigated. We prove that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the positive equilibrium as the delay increases. An explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived, using the theory of normal form and center manifold. Global existence of periodic solutions is established by using a global Hopf bifurcation result due to [J. Wu, Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory, Trans. In this paper, we investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a new regulated logistic growth with discrete and distributed delays. By choosing the discrete delay τ as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that the system is locally asymptotically stable in a range of the delay and Hopf bifurcation occurs as τ crosses a critical value. Furthermore, explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived by normal form theorem and center manifold argument. Finally, an illustrative example is also given to support the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, a modified Holling-Tanner predator-prey model with time delay is considered. By regarding the delay as the bifurcation parameter, the local asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated. Meanwhile, we find that the system can also undergo a Hopf bifurcation of nonconstant periodic solution at the positive equilibrium when the delay crosses through a sequence of critical values. In particular, we study the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcated periodic solutions, an explicit algorithm is given by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for functional differential equations. Finally, numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also included.  相似文献

In this study, we have considered a prey-predator model reflecting the predator interference with discrete time delay. This delay is regarded as the lag due to gestation. In absence of delay, the criteria for existence of interior equilibrium and its global stability are derived. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we have shown that a Hopf bifurcation may occur when the delay passes its critical value. Finally, we have derived the criteria for stability switches and verified the results through computer simulation.  相似文献

In this paper, a discrete-time Hopfield neural network with delay is considered. We give some sufficient conditions ensuring the local stability of the equilibrium point for this model. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we demonstrated that Neimark–Sacker bifurcation (or Hopf bifurcation for map) would occur when the delay exceeds a critical value. A formula for determining the direction bifurcation and stability of bifurcation periodic solutions is given by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Some numerical simulations for justifying the theoretical results are also provided.  相似文献

In this paper, Hopf bifurcation for two-species Lotka–Volterra competition systems with delay dependence is investigated. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that the system is stable over a range of the delay and beyond that it is unstable in the limit cycle form, i.e., there are periodic solutions bifurcating out from the positive equilibrium. Our results show that a stable competition system can be destabilized by the introduction of a maturation delay parameter. Further, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived by using the theory of normal forms and center manifolds, and numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the stability of equilibria, Hopf and double Hopf bifurcation in Liu system with delay feedback. Firstly, we identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcationusing the method of bifurcation analysis. When we choose appropriate feedback strength and delay, two symmetrical nontrivial equilibria of Liusystem can be controlled to be stable at the same time, and the stable bifurcating periodic solutions occur in the neighborhood of the two equilibria at the same time. Secondly, by applying the normal form method and center manifold theory, the normal form near the double Hopf bifurcation, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, we give the bifurcation diagram to illustrate numerically that a family of stable periodic solutions bifurcated from Hopf bifurcation occur in a large region of delay and the Liu system with delay can appear the phenomenon of ``chaos switchover''.  相似文献

The dynamics of a logistic equation with discrete delay are investigated, together with the local and global stability of the equilibria. In particular, the conditions under which a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the positive equilibrium are obtained. Explicit algorithm for determining the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation are derived by using the theory of normal form and center manifold [Hassard B, Kazarino D, Wan Y. Global existence of periodic solutions is also established by using a global Hopf bifurcation result of Wu [Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory. It is known that one-predator–two-prey system with constant rate harvesting can exhibit very rich dynamics. If such a system contains time delayed component, it can have more interesting behavior. In this paper we study the effects of the time delay on the dynamics of the harvested one-predator–two-prey model. It is shown that time delay can cause a stable equilibrium to become unstable. By choosing the delay τ as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcation can occur as the delay τ crosses some critical values. The direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are investigated by following the procedure of deriving normal form given by Faria and Magalhães. An example is given and numerical simulations are finally performed for justifying the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a model described the survival of red blood cells in animal. Its dynamics are studied in terms of local and global Hopf bifurcations. We show that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the positive equilibrium as the delay crosses some critical values. Using the reduced system on the center manifold, we also obtain that the periodic orbits bifurcating from the positive equilibrium are stable in the center manifold, and all Hopf bifurcations are supercritical. Further, particular attention is focused on the continuation of local Hopf bifurcation. We show that global Hopf bifurcations exist after the second critical value of time delay.  相似文献
