Homogénéisation d'une poutre périodique : limite des développements asymptotiques

Starting from the equations of two-dimensional elasticity, a double-scale asymptotic expansion method is applied to a thin structure which is periodic in the direction perpendicular to the thickness. Under the given loading, all the terms of the displacement and stress expansions are determined. These expansions have finite limits under some conditions depending on the number of cells and the solutions of the cellular problems. Application examples show the contribution of higher-order terms in case the number of cells is small.     

Approche statistique du tenseur des contraintes par le viriel généralisé

The classical virial theorem, applied to particles without internal structure, is used to make a direct statistical estimation of a fluid pressure avoiding a thermodynamical potential derivation. Generalising this theorem to structured media leads to a direct statistical estimation of the stress tensor.     

Étude optique des processus d'écoulement de solutions viscoélastiques

Résumé On précise les caractères principaux des variations de la viscosité, de l'angle d'extinction et de la biréfringence des systèmes: laurate de potassium-chlorure de potassium/eau. On montre que dans l'ensemble, ces propriétés ne peuvent pas être interprétées à l'aide des modèles habituels de particules rigides indéformables ou de particules globulaires déformables. Par contre, au prix d'un petit nombre d'hypothèses simples, on peut rendre compte, au moins qualitativement des phénomènes observés par la considération du modèle d'une suspension de particules dissymétriques mais déformables à la manière d'un fluide anisotrope et non d'un solide élastique.

Zusammenfassung Die wesentlichen Merkmale der Veränderungen der Viskosität, des Auslöschungswinkels und der Doppelbrechung von den Systemen: Kaliumlaurat-, Kaliumchlorid-Wasser können genau bestimmt werden. Diese Eigenschaften werden nicht mit Hilfe der gewöhnlichen Modelle von starren unverformbaren oder kugelförmigen Teilchen im Ganzen erklärt. Im Gegenteil, man kann mit einer kleinen Zahl von einfachen Voraussetzungen wenigstens in einer qualitativen Weise die beobachteten Phänomene durch die Betrachtung des Modells einer Suspension von dissymetrischen und sich wie eine anisotrope Flüssigkeit, nicht aber wie ein elastischer Festkörper fließenden verformbaren Teilchen erklären.

     

Rhéologie des matériaux en cours de prise : Approche théorique

The rheological behavior of setting heterogeneous materials is studied from a theoretical approach by means of the homogenization technique of periodic medium. These materials considered as suspensions of gas bubbles at finite concentration in a viscoelastic matrix with low compressibility, present the macroscopic behavior of a compressible viscoelastic medium. The shear and volume macroscopic moduli are of the same order of magnitude and directly proportional to that of the fluid. The effective compressibility of the gas (out of thermal equilibrium) is added to these fluid contributions.

Évolution des propriétés élastiques en poroplasticité finie

The formulation of poroplasticity at large strains requires to clarify the influence of plasticity on the poroelastic properties. This effect is modelled within the framework of a micro–macro approach which takes into account the geometry changes of the microstructure. It is shown that the coupling between elasticity and plasticity introduces an additional term in the rate-type form of the macroscopic state equation which yields a modified form of the Jaumann rate.     

Le modèle des peaux entropiques en turbulence développée

A geometry called entropic skins has been recently proposed to describe and interpret the phenomenon of intermittency in fully developed turbulence. It is shown that the entropic skins model represents the geometrical counterpart of the She–Lévêque's model but with a different interpretation for the main parameters. The comparison with the multifractal approach shows that this is a new geometrical framework of intermittency.     

Interprétation géométrique de la décomposition des équations de compatibilité en grandes déformations

In this paper, we establish compatibility equations satisfied by the right Cauchy–Green stress tensor by annihiling the associated curvature and torsion. The cancelation of torsion, using variables introduced by the polar decomposition, is not trivial as is usually the case. This point is the key to the decomposition of compatibility conditions in two first-order EDPs.

Structure verticale des ondes longues océaniques en présence de points tournants

An asymptotic analysis is presented to investigate the vertical structure of long ocean waves in presence of two turning points and a sharp density interface. After implementing the appropriate matching procedure on either side of these points we derive generally matched solutions, even for a very thin density interface.     

Étude expérimentale des courants de dérive induits par la houle au-dessus d'un fond ridé

Wave-induced current measurements have been carried out above rippled beds in a channel, using laser Doppler anemometry. Very simple formulas for the drift currents just outside the boundary layer above rippled and very rough beds in turbulent regime are proposed. The vertical profiles of drift currents in the bottom boundary layer are compared to the results of the recent model presented by Davies and Villaret.
