We review a construction of quaternionic Kähler metrics starting from a rank 2 distribution in 5 dimensions. We relate it to a more general theory about Einstein deformations of symmetric metrics. Finally we ask some questions on complete metrics and relate them to a Zoll phenomenon.  相似文献

We discuss two-dimensional sigma models on moduli spaces of instantons on K3 surfaces. These N = (4, 4) superconformal field theories describe the near-horizon dynamics of the D1-D5-brane system and are dual to string theory on AdS3. We derive a precise map relating the moduli of the K3 type 1113 string compactification to the moduli of these conformal field theories and the corresponding classical hyper-Kahler geometry. We conclude that in the absence of background gauge fields, the metric on the instanton moduli spaces degenerates exactly to the orbifold symmetric product of K3. Turning on a self-dual NS B-field deforms this symmetric product to a manifold that is diffeomorphic to the Hilbert scheme. We also comment on the mathematical applications of string duality to the global issues of deformations of hyper-Kähler manifolds.  相似文献

We consider Lie(G)-valued G-invariant connections on bundles over spaces ${G/H,\, \mathbb{R}\times G/H\, {\rm and}\, \mathbb{R}^2\times G/H}We give a geometric construction of the ${\mathcal{W}_{1+\infty}}We consider Lie(G)-valued G-invariant connections on bundles over spaces G/H, \mathbbR×G/H and \mathbbR2×G/H{G/H,\, \mathbb{R}\times G/H\, {\rm and}\, \mathbb{R}^2\times G/H}, where G/H is a compact nearly K?hler six-dimensional homogeneous space, and the manifolds \mathbbR×G/H{\mathbb{R}\times G/H} and \mathbbR2×G/H{\mathbb{R}^2\times G/H} carry G 2- and Spin(7)-structures, respectively. By making a G-invariant ansatz, Yang-Mills theory with torsion on \mathbbR×G/H{\mathbb{R}\times G/H} is reduced to Newtonian mechanics of a particle moving in a plane with a quartic potential. For particular values of the torsion, we find explicit particle trajectories, which obey first-order gradient or hamiltonian flow equations. In two cases, these solutions correspond to anti-self-dual instantons associated with one of two G 2-structures on \mathbbR×G/H{\mathbb{R}\times G/H}. It is shown that both G 2-instanton equations can be obtained from a single Spin(7)-instanton equation on \mathbbR2×G/H{\mathbb{R}^2\times G/H}.  相似文献

We consider supersymmetric \({\mathcal{N} = 2}\) solutions with non–vanishing NS three–form. Building on worldsheet results, we reduce the problem to a single generalized Monge–Ampère equation on the generalized Kähler potential K recently interpreted geometrically by Lindström, Ro?ek, Von Unge and Zabzine. One input in the procedure is a holomorphic function w that can be thought of as the effective superpotential for a D3 brane probe. The procedure is hence likely to be useful for finding gravity duals to field theories with non–vanishing abelian superpotential, such as Leigh–Strassler theories. We indeed show that a purely NS precursor of the Lunin–Maldacena dual to the β–deformed \({\mathcal{N} = 4}\) super–Yang–Mills falls in our class.  相似文献

We study a class of supersymmetric spinning particle models derived from the radial quantization of stationary, spherically symmetric black holes of four dimensional \({{\mathcal N} = 2}\) supergravities. By virtue of the c-map, these spinning particles move in quaternionic Kähler manifolds. Their spinning degrees of freedom describe mini-superspace-reduced supergravity fermions. We quantize these models using BRST detour complex technology. The construction of a nilpotent BRST charge is achieved by using local (worldline) supersymmetry ghosts to generate special holonomy transformations. (An interesting byproduct of the construction is a novel Dirac operator on the superghost extended Hilbert space.) The resulting quantized models are gauge invariant field theories with fields equaling sections of special quaternionic vector bundles. They underly and generalize the quaternionic version of Dolbeault cohomology discovered by Baston. In fact, Baston’s complex is related to the BPS sector of the models we write down. Our results rely on a calculus of operators on quaternionic Kähler manifolds that follows from BRST machinery, and although directly motivated by black hole physics, can be broadly applied to any model relying on quaternionic geometry.  相似文献

It is shown that for two-dimensional Euclidean chiral models of the field theory with values in arbitrary Kähler manifold duality equations reduce to the Cauchy-Riemann equations on this manifold. A class of models is described possessing such type solutions, the so called instanton solutions.  相似文献

A hyperkähler manifold with a circle action fixing just one complex structure admits a natural hyperholomorphic line bundle. This observation forms the basis for the construction of a corresponding quaternionic Kähler manifold in the work of A.Haydys. In this paper the corresponding holomorphic line bundle on twistor space is described and many examples computed, including monopole and Higgs bundle moduli spaces. Finally a twistor version of the hyperkähler/quaternion Kähler correspondence is established.  相似文献

Kählerian twistor operators are introduced to get lower bounds for the eigenvalues of the Dirac operator on compact spin Kähler manifolds. In odd complex dimensions, manifolds with the smallest eigenvalues are characterized by an over determined system of differential equations similar to the Riemannian case. In these dimensions, we show the existence of a unique natural Kählerian twistor operator. It is also proved that, on a Kähler manifold with nonzero scalar curvature, the space of Riemannian twistor-spinors is trivial. This work has been partially supported by the EEC programme GADGET Contract Nr. We study harmonic and pluriharmonic maps on locally conformal Kähler manifolds. We prove that there are no nonconstant holomorphic pluriharmonic maps from a locally conformal Kähler manifold to a Kähler manifold and that any holomorphic harmonic map from a compact locally conformal Kähler manifold to a Kähler manifold is stable.  相似文献

Generalized coherent states provide a means of connecting square integrable representations of a semi-simple Lie group with the symplectic geometry of some of its homogeneous spaces. In the first part of the present work this point of view is extended to the supersymmetric context through the study of the OSp(2/2) coherent states. These are explicitly constructed starting from the known abstract typical and atypical representations of osp(2/2). Their underlying geometries turn out to be those of supersymplectic OSp(2/2)-homogeneous spaces. Moment maps identifying the latter with coadjoint orbits of OSp(2/2) are exhibited via Berezin's symbols. When considered within Rothstein's general paradigm, these results lead to a natural general definition of a super-Kähler supermanifold, the supergeometry of which is determined in terms of the usual geometry of holomorphic Hermitian vector bundles over Kähler manifolds. In particular, the supergeometry of the above orbits is interpreted in terms of the geometry of Einstein-Hermitian vector bundles. In the second part, an extension of the full geometric quantization procedure is applied to the same coadjoint orbits. Thanks to the super-Kähler character of the latter, this procedure leads to explicit super-unitary irreducible representations of osp(2/2) in super-Hilbert spaces of superholomorphic square-integrable sections of prequantum bundles of the Kostant type. This work lays the foundations of a program aimed at classifying Lie supergroups' coadjoint orbits and their associated irreducible representations, ultimately leading to harmonic superanalysis. For this purpose a set of consistent conventions is exhibited.Address after October 1, 1995: Faculté des sciences Jean Perrin, Université d'Artois, rue Jean Souvraz, S.P. 18, F-62307 Lens, France. Let M be an almost complex manifold equipped with a Hermitian form such that its de Rham differential has Hodge type (3,0)+(0,3), for example a nearly Kähler manifold. We prove that any connected component of the moduli space of pseudoholomorphic curves on M is compact. This can be used to study pseudoholomorphic curves on a 6-dimensional sphere with the standard (G 2-invariant) almost complex structure.  相似文献
