A formulation has been developed for the determination of self and mutual inductances in unloaded, eight-column symmetric birdcage coils using their expected resonant mode current patterns and well-known inductance formulas. The average frequency differences between theory and experiment for mode one resonances for nine low-pass coils were 0.66 (+/- 0.57) MHz and 2.14 (+/- 2.08) MHz using effective (self plus mutual) and self inductances, respectively, and similarly, for three high-pass coils, 1.19 (+/- 0.56) MHz and 2.79 (+/- 2.20) MHz. These frequency differences were more pronounced for the higher modes; for mode four, the differences neglecting mutual inductance were 14.30 (+/- 11.10) MHz and 10.42 (+/- 4.60) MHz for the low- and high-pass coils, respectively. This analysis provides the first explicit evaluation of the total end-ring and column inductances L1 and L2 within each birdcage section at resonance with resulting excellent agreement in resonant frequencies between theory and experiment.  相似文献

For the application of resonant inductive coupling for wireless power transfer, fabrication of flat spiral coils using ribbon wire allows for analytic expressions of the capacitance and inductance of the coils and therefore the resonant frequency. The expressions can also be used in an approximate way for the analysis of coils constructed from cylindrical wire. Ribbon wire constructed from both standard metals as well as high temperature superconducting material is commercially available, so using these derived expressions as a basis, a fully analytic treatment is presented that allows for design trades to be made for hybrid designs incorporating either technology. The model is then extended to analyze the performance of the technology as applied to inductively coupled communications, which has been demonstrated as having an advantage in circumstances where radiated signals would suffer unacceptable levels of attenuation.  相似文献

The “high-pass” and “low-pass” designations commonly given to bird-cage coils derive in each case from the relationship of the individual sections of the bird cage to simple filters. By extension of the concept of constructing a bird-cage coil from elementary filter sections, it is possible to create coils which support “bird-cage mode” resonances at more than one frequency. Designs based on both simple bandpass and band-stop filters, for example, provide means to realize bird-cage coils which may be tuned simultaneously to two frequencies. Construction and performance of a band-stop bird cage operating at both 200 and 81 MHz are described.  相似文献

The scattering behavior of P-waves in piezoelectric composites with 1–3 connectivity is studied. The method of wave function expansion is adopted for the theoretical derivations. Analytical expressions are obtained for the distributions of mechanical displacement in z-direction along the circumferences of piezoelectric cylinders. These solutions are used to study the influence of each element of the stiffness matrix and the piezoelectric matrix on the various resonant modes of vibration. Numerical results obtained indicate that perturbations of the elements c44 and e15 significantly affect resonant frequencies and amplitudes, perturbations of c11 and c12 have pronounced effects on resonant modes of high frequencies also. However, the resonant modes are not so sensitive to the perturbations of c13, e31 and e33. The dynamic characteristics of 1–3 connectivity piezoelectric composites exposed here are meaningful for the design and manufacture of sensor/actuator elements by this kind of composites as well as the on-line health monitoring of the mechanical properties variations of the composites itself.  相似文献

Simultaneous imaging of proton and sodium is achieved using a new two coil system and a time-multiplexing technique with a 1.5 T NMR imaging system. Distinctly different NMR parameters of protons and sodium, such as resonant frequencies and T1 relaxation rates, are incorporated in the imaging with a new dual coil arrangement. Since the T1 relaxation time of sodium is substantially shorter than that of protons, a set of fast repeating sodium pulse sequences is inserted between the proton pulse repetition intervals. The different resonant frequencies of the nuclei provide good isolation between the two RF coils. In this paper, the system configuration and the pulse sequence employed for the proposed simultaneous multinuclear imaging of protons and sodium are presented along with some preliminary results.  相似文献

In this paper the fundamental effects of losses on resonant parameters (frequencies and quality factors) are analyzed for circular-cylindrical dielectric resonators inserted between metal plates, in the configuration also called NRD (Non-Radiative Dielectric).Power dissipations are considered both in the dielectric and in the conductors. Complex resonant frequencies and closed-form expressions for the relevant quality factors are derived rigorously for arbitrary resonant modes, even without circular symmetry. Numerical results are presented and discussed, making also use of experimental data obtained by means of a suitable NRD set-up.The present analysis accurately provides the basic information for a more realistic design of up-to-date millimeter-wave frequency-selective devices in NRD circuitry.  相似文献

We have obtained exact analytical expressions in closed form, for the linear modes excited in finite and discrete systems that are driven by a spatially homogeneous alternating field. Those modes are extended for frequencies within the linear frequency band while they are either end-localized or end-avoided for frequencies outside the linear frequency band. The analytical solutions are resonant at particular frequencies, which compose the frequency dispersion relation of the finite system.  相似文献

We demonstrate a brand-new method for image enhancement by using a modified high-pass filtering approach. Some specific spatial frequencies are selectively magnified by exaggerating the local visibility of an image. Then a high-pass filter is employed to adjust those critical frequencies. The resonant transmission of a small annular aperture, with a diameter much smaller than the radiation wavelength, in a thin metal plate is studied at microwave frequencies. It transpires that such an annular aperture supports several resonant guided modes, including those that are not quantized in the azimuthal direction. Such modes have resonant frequencies that are largely independent of the diameter of the annular aperture, thus being supported by annular apertures that tend to zero radius. The transmittance of such a structure at microwave frequencies is detailed and compared with the predictions of a finite element method model.  相似文献

We derive general expressions for the transmission coefficient and the traversal time in waveguides periodically loaded with dielectric slabs. We apply the results to resonant tunneling between two regions below cut-off, with exponentially decaying modes. At the resonant frequencies, we found a relationship between the traversal time and the lifetime. We also study the photonic band gap in a periodic quarter wavelength structure. As in several experiments, we found superluminal velocities.  相似文献

Two LC resonant circuits resonating at the same frequency (245 MHz) faced each other with reverse polarity (twin electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) resonator). For the inductor of the LC circuit, a square single-turn one-loop coil (width, 38 mm) was fabricated. Each LC circuit was independently tuned using mechanical variable capacitors. A cylindrical phantom (diameter, 25 mm) including a 1 mM nitroxide radical physiological saline solution was located at the center of two coils (distance between these coils, 50 mm). Two resonant frequencies (the lower and the higher ones) were observed at each LC circuit of the twin EPR resonator with termination of the other LC circuit. The lower resonant frequency alone was observed when the powers from two LC circuits of the twin EPR resonator were combined by a 180° combiner. On the other hand, the higher frequency alone was observed when they were combined by a 0° combiner. EPR signals could be obtained using the 180° combiner (lower frequency) but not the 0° combiner (higher frequency).  相似文献

The dynamic behavior and dynamic instability of the rotating sandwich beam with a constrained damping layer subjected to axial periodic loads are studied by the finite element method. The influences of rotating speed, thickness ratio, setting angle and hub radius ratio on the resonant frequencies and modal system loss factors are presented. The regions of instability for simple and combination resonant frequencies are determined from the Mathieu equation that is obtained from the parametric excitation of the rotating sandwich beam. The regions of dynamic instability for various parameters are presented.  相似文献

This study provides two non-contact optical techniques to investigate the transverse vibration characteristics of piezoceramic rectangular plates in resonance. These methods, including the amplitude-fluctuation electronic speckle pattern interferometry (AF-ESPI) and laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV), are full-field measurement for AF-ESPI and point-wise displacement measurement for LDV, respectively. The edges of these piezoceramic rectangular plates may either be fixed or free. Both resonant frequencies and mode shapes of vibrating piezoceramic plates can be obtained simultaneously by AF-ESPI. Excellent quality of the interferometric fringe patterns for the mode shapes is obtained. In the LDV system, a built-in dynamic signal analyzer (DSA) composed of DSA software and a plug-in waveform generator board can provide the piezoceramic plates with the swept-sine excitation signal, whose gain at corresponding frequencies is analyzed by the DSA software. The peaks appeared in the frequency response curve are resonant frequencies. In addition to these optical methods, the numerical computation based on the finite element analysis is used to verify the experimental results. Good agreements of the mode shapes and resonant frequencies are obtained for experimental and numerical results.  相似文献

The Kirchoff-Love plate theory and electroelasticity theory are combined to simulate the dynamic behaviors of the trimorph ring transducers under different boundary conditions. The transducer consists of an isotropic elastic ring laminated between two identical piezoelectric rings. Their electric current response, resonant frequencies, antiresonant frequencies and electromechanical coupling coefficients (EMCCs) are theoretically formulated and studied by numerical simulation. Also, the resonant frequencies and their corresponding mode shape are simulated by the finite element modelling to verify the theoretical results. Finally, to obtain the maximum energy conversion efficiency, the dynamic EMCC is optimized by varying the proportion of piezoelectric and elastic parts. It is shown that the dynamic EMCC depends on geometric thickness and radii ratios. Optimum settings for a particular transducer to reach the maximum dynamic EMCC are found for different boundary conditions. The trimorph ring transducer for the fixed inner and free outer surfaces boundary condition has slightly lower resonant and anti-resonant frequencies, and larger EMCCs than that for the free inner and fixed outer surfaces boundary condition does.  相似文献

Most of the work done on vibration of plates published in the literature includes analytical and numerical studies with few experimental results available. In this paper, an optical system called the amplitude-fluctuation electronic speckle pattern interferometry for the out-of-plane displacement measurement is employed to investigate the vibration behavior of plates with rounded corners and with chamfers. The boundary conditions are traction free along the circumference of the plate. Based on the fact that clear fringe patterns will appear only at resonant frequencies, both resonant frequencies and corresponding mode shapes can be obtained experimentally using the present method. Numerical calculations by finite element method are also performed and the results are compared with the experimental measurements. Good agreements are obtained for both results. It is interesting to note that the mode number sequences for some resonant modes are changed. The transition of mode shapes from the square plate to the circular plate is also discussed.  相似文献

Electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) is a full field, non-contact technique for measuring the surface displacement of a structure subjected to static loading or, especially, to dynamic vibration. In this article we employ an optical system called the amplitude-fluctuation ESPI with out-of-plane and in-plane measurements to investigate the vibration characteristics of piezoceramic plates. Two different configurations of piezoceramic plates, namely the rectangular and the circular plates, are discussed in detail. As compared with the film recording and optical reconstruction procedures used for holographic interferometry, the interferometric fringes of AF-ESPI are produced instantly by a video recording system. Because the clear fringe patterns will be shown only at resonant frequencies, both the resonant frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes are obtained experimentally at the same time by the proposed AF-ESPI method. Excellent quality of the interferometric fringe patterns for both the in-plane and out-of-plane vibration mode shapes is demonstrated. The resonant frequencies of the piezoceramic plates are also measured by the conventional impedance analysis. From experimental results, we find that the out-of-plane vibration modes (type A) with lower resonant frequencies cannot be measured by the impedance analysis and only the in-plane vibration modes (type B) will be shown. However, both the out-of-plane (bending) and in-plane (extensional) vibration modes of piezoceramic plates are obtained by the AF-ESPI method. Finally, the numerical finite element calculations are also performed, and the results are compared with the experimental measurements. It is shown that the numerical calculations and the experimental results agree fairly well for both the resonant frequencies and the mode shapes.  相似文献

We derive expressions for the effective nonlinear susceptibility tensors for both the second harmonic generation (SHG) and induced third harmonic generation (THG) of nonlinear composite materials, in which nondilute coated particles with radial dielectric anisotropy are randomly embedded in the linear host. Two types of coated particles are considered. The first is that the core possesses a second order nonlinear susceptibility and the shell is linear and radially anisotropic, while the second is that the core is linear with radial anisotropy and the shell has a second order nonlinear susceptibility. We observe greatly enhanced SHG and THG susceptibilities at several surface plasmon resonant frequencies. For the second model, due to the coating material being metallic, there exists two fundamental resonant frequencies ωc1 and ωc2, whose difference ωc2c1 is strongly dependent on the interfacial parameter and the radial dielectric anisotropy. Furthermore, in both systems, the adjustment of the dielectric anisotropy results in larger enhancement of both SHG and induced THG susceptibilities at surface plasmon resonant frequencies than the corresponding isotropic systems. Therefore, both the core-shell structure and the dielectric anisotropy play important roles in determining the nonlinear enhancement and the surface resonant frequencies.  相似文献

The acoustic radiation characteristics of free-flooded ring transducers made of PZT4 and PMN-PT materials are calculated and compared.First,the theoretical formulae for free-flooded ring transducers are studied.The resonant frequencies of a transducer made of PZT4 and PMN-PT materials are calculated.Then,the transmitting voltage responses of the free-flooded ring transducers are calculated using the finite element method.Finally,the acoustic radiation characteristics of the free-flooded ring transducers are calculated using the boundary element method.The calculated results show that the resonant frequencies of the free-flooded ring transducer made of PMN-PT are greatly reduced compared with those made of PZT4 with the same size.The transmitting voltage response of the transducer made of PMN-PT is much higher than that of the transducer made of PZT4.The calculated 3-dB beamwidth of the acoustic radiated far-field directivity of the free-flooded ring transducer made of PZT4 at the resonant frequency 1900 Hz is 63.6 and that of the transducer made of PMN-PT at the resonant frequency 1000 Hz is 64.6.The comparison results show that the free-flooded ring transducer made of PMN-PT material has many advantages over that made of PZT4.The PMN-PT is a promising material for improving the performance of free-flooded ring transducers.  相似文献

A technique for efficient mid-range wireless energy transfer between two coils via a mediator coil is proposed. By varying the coil frequencies, three resonances are created: emitter–mediator (EM), mediator–receiver (MR) and emitter–receiver (ER). If the frequency sweeps are adiabatic and such that the EM resonance precedes the MR resonance, the energy flows sequentially along the chain emitter–mediator–receiver. If the MR resonance precedes the EM resonance, then the energy flows directly from the emitter to the receiver via the ER resonance; then the losses from the mediator are suppressed. This technique is robust against noise, resonant constraints and external interferences.  相似文献
