We study theoretically the ionization and dissociation of muonic molecular ions (e.g., dd mu) in superintense laser fields. We predict that the bond breaks by tunneling of the lightest ion through a bond-softened barrier at intensity I > or =10(21) W/cm(2). Ionization of the muonic atomic fragment occurs at much higher intensity I > or =6 x 10(22) W/cm(2). Since the field controls the ion trajectory after dissociation, it forces recollision of a approximately 10(5)-10(6) eV ion with the muonic atom. Recollision can trigger a nuclear reaction with sub-laser-cycle precision. In general, molecules can serve as precursors for laser control of nuclear processes.  相似文献

A quantum hydrodynamical study is made of the dynamical changes of a helium atom interacting with lasers of two different intensities, but having the same frequency. Under the intense laser field, electron density oozes out of the helium atom by absorbing laser photons and getting promoted to higher excited states including the continuum. Under the superintense field, electron density partly moves away from the helium nucleus but remains in the “quasi-bound” dressed states along with the laser field, thus suppressing ionization.  相似文献

Exact non-Born-Oppenheimer numerical solutions of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation for the 1D H+2 molecule in an intense, two-color (omega+2omega) laser field have been obtained. Both electron and proton kinetic energy spectra show spatial, correlated, asymmetric distributions. The calculated spectra exhibit the same unusual correlations as in experiments, in which both positively charged nuclear fragments and negatively charged photoelectrons were preferentially emitted in the same direction. The above asymmetries of photoemission of electrons seen in our quantum simulation are interpreted in the framework of a quasistatic tunneling model.  相似文献

Ion acceleration by petawatt laser radiation in underdense and overdense plasmas is studied with 2D3V-PIC (Particle in Cell) numerical simulations. These simulations show that the laser pulse drills a channel through the plasma slab, and electrons and ions expand in vacuum. Fast electrons escape first from the electron-ion cloud. Later, ions gain a high energy on account of the Coulomb explosion of the cloud and the inductive electric field which appears due to fast change of the magnetic field generated by the laser pulse. Similarly, when a superintense laser pulse interacts with a thin slab of overdense plasma, its ponderomotive pressure blows all the electrons away from a finite-diameter spot on the slab. Then, due to the Coulomb explosion, ions gain an energy as high as 1 GeV. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 70, No. 2, 80–86 (25 July 1999) Published in English in the original Russian journal. We report on the experimental realization of time-resolved coincident Coulomb explosion imaging of H2 fragmentation in 10(14) W/cm(2) laser fields. Combining a high-resolution "reaction microscope" and a fs pump-probe setup, we map the motion of wave packets dissociating via one- or two-photon channels, respectively, and observe a new region of enhanced ionization. The long-term interferometric stability of our system allows us to extend pump-probe experiments into the region of overlapping pulses, which offers new possibilities for the manipulation of ultrafast molecular fragmentation dynamics.  相似文献

Using three-dimensional classical ensembles, we have investigated the enhancement of double ionization of perpendicularly aligned H2 molecules by a 800 nm laser pulse with intensity ranging from 1 × 1014 W/cm2 to 6 × 1014 W/cm2. The simulated results show that double ionization probability of H2 strongly depends on R and reaches a maximum at an intensity independent critical distance RC  5 a.u. Furthermore, the enhancement of double ionization is more pronounced in the cases of weaker or stronger fields. These results, a well indication of the influence of molecular structures and laser–molecule interactions on double ionization of diatomic molecules, are analyzed in detail and qualitatively explained based on the field-induced barrier suppression model and back analysis.  相似文献

The multiphoton ionization of H2 has been studied using laser pulses of 266 nm wavelength, 250 fs duration, and 5x10(13) W/cm(2) peak intensity. Dissociation of H2(+) via one-photon absorption proceeds through two channels with markedly different proton angular distributions. The lower-energy channel (2.6 eV kinetic energy release) is produced in the bond softening mechanism, which generates parallel alignment. The higher-energy channel (3.5 eV) originates from population trapping in a light-induced bound state, where bond hardening generates orthogonal, counterintuitive alignment.  相似文献

Different from atoms, the multicenter of the Coulombic potentials in molecules makes the tunneling ionization complex, and the electron tunnels out the laser-dressed Coulomb potential with a complex structure. We study tunneling exits of H_2~+ at large internuclear distance in strong laser fields by numerically simulating the time-dependent Schr¨odinger equation plus a classical backward propagation of the ionized wave packet. This study strengthens the understanding of molecular tunneling ionization in strong laser fields.  相似文献
