We prove that every neighborhood assignment for a monotonically normal space has a kernel which is homeomorphic to some subspace of an ordinal. As a corollary, every monotone neighborhood assignment for a monotonically normal space has a discrete kernel, which gives a partial answer to a question posed in Buzyakova et al. (2007) [5]. We also give an example of a regular space which has a neighborhood assignment with no kernels homeomorphic to any subspace of an ordinal. 相似文献

In this paper, we describe strong P-congruences and sublattice-structure of the strong P-congruence lattice CP(S) of a P-inversive semigroup S(P). It is proved that the set of all strong P-congruences CP(S) on S(P) is a complete lattice. A close link is discovered between the class of P-inversive semigroups and the well-known class of regular ⋆-semigroups. Further, we introduce concepts of strong normal partition/equivalence,
C-trace/kernel and discuss some sublattices of CP(S). It is proved that the set of strong P-congruences, which have C-traces (C-kernels) equal to a given strong normal equivalence of P (C-kernel), is a complete sublattice
of CP(S). It is also proved that the sublattices determined by C-trace-equaling relation θ and C-kernel-equaling relation κ, respectively,
are complete sublattices of CP(S) and the greatest elements of these sublattices are given. 相似文献

For an arbitrary polynomial pencil of matrices Ai of dimensions m×n one presents an algorithm for the computation of the eigenvalues of the regular kernel of the pencil. The algorithm allows to construct a regular pencil having the same eigenvalues as the regular kernel of the initial pencil or (in the case of a dead end termination) allows to pass from the initial pencil to a pencil of smaller dimensions whose regular kernel has the same eigenvalues as the initial pencil. The problem is solved by reducing the obtained pencil to a linear one. The research community has long recognized the study of non-monotonic reasoning (NMR) as a promising approach to model features of commonsense reasoning. We study one of the semantics that are useful to formalize NMR, called the p-stable semantics. We introduce three different formats for normal programs: negative normal programs, restricted negative normal programs and strong kernel programs. These forms help to simplify the search of p-stable models of the original program. One of the main results of this paper indicates that the p-stable semantics for strong kernel programs is the same as the stable semantics. This way, all the applications based on stable semantics for those kernel programs (defined in [S. Costantini, A. Provetti, Normal forms for answer set programming, J. Theory Pract. Log. Program. 5 (2005) 747-760]) that are strong kernel programs can also be based on the p-stable semantics. 相似文献

The paper is devoted to study of traveling waves of nonlinear Schrödinger equation with distributed delay by applying geometric singular perturbation theory, differential manifold theory and the regular perturbation analysis for a Hamiltonian system. Under the assumptions that the distributed delay kernel is strong general delay kernel and the average delay is small, we first investigate the existence of solitary wave solutions by differential manifold theory. Then by utilizing the regular perturbation analysis for a Hamiltonian system, we explore the periodic traveling wave solutions. 相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with the construction of a general principle that will allow us to produce regular spectral triples with finite and simple dimension spectrum. We introduce the notion of weak heat kernel asymptotic expansion (WHKAE) property of a spectral triple and show that the weak heat kernel asymptotic expansion allows one to conclude that the spectral triple is regular with finite simple dimension spectrum. The usual heat kernel expansion implies this property. The notion of quantum double suspension of a C?-algebra was introduced by Hong and Szymanski. Here we introduce the quantum double suspension of a spectral triple and show that the WHKAE is stable under quantum double suspension. Therefore quantum double suspending compact Riemannian spin manifolds iteratively we get many examples of regular spectral triples with finite simple dimension spectrum. This covers all the odd-dimensional quantum spheres. Our methods also apply to the case of noncommutative torus. 相似文献

We show that a near‐diagonal lower bound of the heat kernel of a Dirichlet form on a metric measure space with a regular measure implies an on‐diagonal upper bound. If in addition the Dirichlet form is local and regular, then we obtain a full off‐diagonal upper bound of the heat kernel provided the Dirichlet heat kernel on any ball satisfies a near‐diagonal lower estimate. semigroup S becomes a regular *-semigroup if there is a p-system F of the band ES of idempotents of S such that F∋e, ES∋t, e≥t imply t∈F. By using this result, it is also shown that F is a p-system of a generalized inverse semigroup S if and

Let 𝒞? denotes the variety of completely regular semigroups considered with the unary operation of inversion. The global study of the lattice of subvarieties of 𝒞? depends heavily on various decompositions. Some of the most fruitful among these are induced by the kernel and the trace relations. In their turn, these relations are induced by the kernel and the trace relations on the lattice of congruences on regular semigroups. These latter admit the concepts of kernel and trace of a congruence. The kernel and the trace relations for congruences were transferred to kernel and trace relations on varieties but the kernel and trace got no analogue for varieties.We supply here the kernel and the trace of a variety which induce the relations of their namesake. For the local and core relations, we also define the local and core of a variety. All the new concepts are certain subclasses of 𝒞?. In this way, we achieve considerable similarity of the new concepts with those for congruences. We also correct errors in two published papers. 相似文献
