We study the Ising gauge model in dimensionsD2. In addition to the plaquette coupling of this model we introduce a nearest neighbour ferromagnetic Ising coupling. By that means the local gauge symmetry is removed while the global symmetry of the Ising model is still present. The phase diagram of the model is found by using general arguments as well as Monte-Carlo methods. The gauge phase of the model is characterized by the presence of a topological excitation (defect) which has no influence on any local physical quantity.  相似文献

The dynamical responses of Ising metamagnet (layered antiferromagnet) in the presence of a sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field are studied by Monte Carlo simulation. The time average staggered magnetisation plays the role of dynamic order parameter. A dynamical phase transition was observed and a phase diagram was plotted in the plane formed by field amplitude and temperature. The dynamical phase boundary is observed to shrink inward as the relative antiferromagnetic strength decreases. The results are compared with that obtained from pure ferromagnetic system. The shape of dynamic phase boundary observed to be qualitatively similar to that obtained from previous meanfield calculations.  相似文献

The stationary states of the random-field Ising model are determined through the master equation approach, where the contact with the heat bath is simulated by the Glauber stochastic dynamics. The phase diagram of the model is constructed from the stationary values of the magnetization as a function of temperature and field amplitude. The continuous phase transitions coincide with the equilibrium ones, while the first-order transitions occur at fields larger than the corresponding values at equilibrium. The difference between the fields at the limit of stability of the ordered phase and that of the equilibrium is maximum at zero temperature and vanishes at the tricritical point. 在有效场理论和切断近似框架内,选择自旋S=1的二维方格子,研究横向随机晶场Ising模型的相图和磁化行为,重点是横向随机晶场浓度和晶场比率对相图和磁化的影响.给出了i>T-Dx空间的相图和m-T空间的磁化图.在晶场稀疏情况下,负晶场方向存在临界温度的峰值,正方向可出现重入现象.晶场比率取+0.5和-0.5时,磁有序相范围缩小,特别是晶场比率取-0.5时,随晶场浓度的降低,临界温度峰值从横向晶场负方向渡越到正方向.固定某一负晶场值,不同晶场比率的磁化行为有明显差异.同时与纵向稀疏晶场Ising模型结果进行有意义的比较. 关键词: 横向随机晶场Ising模型 相图 磁化行为  相似文献

We show that the three-dimensional Ising model coupled to a small random magnetic field is ordered at low temperatures. This means that the lower critical dimension,d l for the theory isd l 2, settling a long controversy on the subject. Our proof is based on an exact Renormalization Group (RG) analysis of the system. This analysis is carried out in the domain wall representation of the system and it is inspired by the scaling arguments of Imry and Ma. The RG acts in the space of Ising models and in the space of random field distributions, driving the former to zero temperature and the latter to zero variance.  相似文献

We consider the critical behavior of a two-dimensional competing axial Ising model including interactions up to third nearest neighbors in one direction. On the basis of a low-temperature analysis relating the transfer matrix of this model with the Hamiltonian of theS = 1/2XXZ chain, it is shown that the usual square root singularity dominating commensurate-incommensurate phase transitions of two-dimensional systems merges into a continuously infinite transition for certain relations among the coupling parameters. The conjectured equivalence between the maximum eigenstate of the transfer matrix associated with this model and the ground state of theXXZ chain is tested numerically for lattice widths up to 18 sites.  相似文献

Two dimensional sine-Gordon (SG) field theory on a lattice is studied using the single-site basis variational method of Drell and others. The nature of the phase transition associated with the spontaneous symmetry breakdown in a SG field system is clarified to be of second order. <正>Dynamics of a spin-3/2 Ising system Hamiltonian with bilinear and biquadratic nearest-neighbour exchange interactions is studied by a simple method in which the statistical equilibrium theory is combined with the Onsager's theory of irreversible thermodynamics.First,the equilibrium behaviour of the model in the molecular-field approximation is given briefly in order to obtain the phase transition temperatures,i.e.the first- and second-order and the tricritical points.Then,the Onsager theory is applied to the model and the kinetic or rate equations are obtained.By solving these equations three relaxation times are calculated and their behaviours are examined for temperatures near the phase transition points.Moreover,the z dynamic critical exponent is calculated and compared with the z values obtained for different systems experimentally and theoretically,and they are found to be in good agrement.  相似文献

The nonequilibrium or dynamic phase transitions are studied, within a mean-field approach, in the kinetic Ising model on a two-layer square lattice consisting of spin- 1/2 ions in the presence of a time varying (sinusoidal) magnetic field has been studied by using Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The dynamic equations of motion are obtained in terms of the intralayer coupling constants J1 and J2 for the first and second layer, respectively, and interlayer coupling constant J3 between these two layers. The nature (first- or second-order) of the transitions is characterized by investigating the behavior of the thermal variations of the dynamic order parameters. The dynamic phase transitions are obtained and the dynamic phase diagrams are constructed in the plane of the reduced temperature versus the amplitude of the magnetic field and found fourteen fundamental types of phase diagrams. Phase diagrams exhibit one, two or three dynamic tricritical points for various values of J2/|J1| and J3/|J1|. Besides the paramagnetic (p), ferromagnetic (f) and compensated (c) phases, there were the f+c,f+sf,c+sf,af+p,m+p,f+m and c+af, where the af, sf and m are the antiferromagnetic, surface ferromagnetic and mixed phases respectively. Coexistence phase regions also exist in the system.  相似文献

The absence of the analytic continuation for the free energy near the point of the first order phase transition in thed-dimensional Ising model is proved. It is shown that thermodynamic functions in the metastable phase do not have certain values and can be derived only with an uncertainty. We investigate an effective model for the finite-temperature symmetry-restoration phase transition of the electroweak theory. It is obtained by dimensional reduction of the (3 + 1)-dimensional full theory and by subsequent integration over all static gauge degrees of freedom. The resulting theory corresponds to a 3-dimensional O(4) ferromagnet containing cubic and quartic terms of the field in its potential function. Possible nonperturbative effects of a magnetic screening mass are parametrically included in the potential. We analyse the theory using mean-field and numerical Monte Carlo (MC) simulation methods. At the value of the physical Higgs mass, mH = 37 GeV, considered in the present investigation, we find a discontinuous symmetry-restoring phase transition. We determine the critical temperature, order parameter jump, interface tension and latent heat characteristics of the transition. The Monte Carlo results indicate a somewhat weaker first-order phase transition as compared to the mean-field treatment, demonstrating that non-perturbative fluctuations of the Higgs field are relevant. This effect is especially important for the interface tension. Any observation of hard first-order transition could result only from non-perturbative effects related to the gauge degrees of freedom.  相似文献

Long-period modulated structures are investigated by means of Monte Carlo methods within the anisotropic Ising model with competing interactions (the ANNNI model). The amplitude of the modulated phase is proposed as a new order parameter for describing modulated structures. It is shown that the amplitude used as an order parameter allows properties of the modulated phase-paramagnet phase transition to be investigated.  相似文献
