In the research of mathematical programming, duality theorems are essential and important elements. Recently, Lagrange duality theorems for separable convex programming have been studied. Tseng proves that there is no duality gap in Lagrange duality for separable convex programming without any qualifications. In other words, although the infimum value of the primal problem equals to the supremum value of the Lagrange dual problem, Lagrange multiplier does not always exist. Jeyakumar and Li prove that Lagrange multiplier always exists without any qualifications for separable sublinear programming. Furthermore, Jeyakumar and Li introduce a necessary and sufficient constraint qualification for Lagrange duality theorem for separable convex programming. However, separable convex constraints do not always satisfy the constraint qualification, that is, Lagrange duality does not always hold for separable convex programming. In this paper, we study duality theorems for separable convex programming without any qualifications. We show that a separable convex inequality system always satisfies the closed cone constraint qualification for quasiconvex programming and investigate a Lagrange-type duality theorem for separable convex programming. In addition, we introduce a duality theorem and a necessary and sufficient optimality condition for a separable convex programming problem, whose constraints do not satisfy the Slater condition.  相似文献

Robust optimization problems, which have uncertain data, are considered. We prove surrogate duality theorems for robust quasiconvex optimization problems and surrogate min–max duality theorems for robust convex optimization problems. We give necessary and sufficient constraint qualifications for surrogate duality and surrogate min–max duality, and show some examples at which such duality results are used effectively. Moreover, we obtain a surrogate duality theorem and a surrogate min–max duality theorem for semi-definite optimization problems in the face of data uncertainty.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the study of a new class of conic constrained optimization problems with objectives given as differences of a composite function and a convex function. We first introduce some new notions of constraint qualifications in terms of the epigraphs of the conjugates of these functions. Under the new constraint qualifications, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for several versions of Farkas lemmas to hold. Similarly, we provide characterizations for conic constrained optimization problems to have the strong or stable strong dualities such as Lagrange, Fenchel–Lagrange or Toland–Fenchel–Lagrange duality.  相似文献

In convex optimization, a constraint qualification (CQ) is an essential ingredient for the elegant and powerful duality theory. Various constraint qualifications which are sufficient for the Lagrangian duality have been given in the literature. In this paper, we present constraint qualifications which characterize completely the Lagrangian duality.  相似文献

We study Lagrange duality theorems for canonical DC programming problems. We show two types Lagrange duality results by using a decomposition method to infinite convex programming problems and by using a previous result by Lemaire (1998)  [6]. Also we observe these constraint qualifications for the duality theorems.  相似文献

In this paper we present constraint qualifications which completely characterize the Farkas–Minkowski and the locally Farkas–Minkowski convex (possibly infinite) inequality systems posed in topological vector spaces. The number of constraints and the dimension of the linear space are arbitrary (possibly infinite). The constraint qualifications considered in this paper are expressed in terms of the solvability of certain parametric convex (linear) systems and the uniform strong duality or the uniform min–max duality relative to the Lagrange (Haar) dual problems of suitable convex (linear) parametric optimization problems.  相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions in constrained optimization   总被引:22,自引:0,他引:22
Additional conditions are attached to the Kuhn-Tucker conditions giving a set of conditions which are both necessary and sufficient for optimality in constrained optimization, under appropriate constraint qualifications. Necessary and sufficient conditions are also given for optimality of the dual problem. Duality and converse duality are treated accordingly.  相似文献

In this paper we first establish a Lagrange multiplier condition characterizing a regularized Lagrangian duality for quadratic minimization problems with finitely many linear equality and quadratic inequality constraints, where the linear constraints are not relaxed in the regularized Lagrangian dual. In particular, in the case of a quadratic optimization problem with a single quadratic inequality constraint such as the linearly constrained trust-region problems, we show that the Slater constraint qualification (SCQ) is necessary and sufficient for the regularized Lagrangian duality in the sense that the regularized duality holds for each quadratic objective function over the constraints if and only if (SCQ) holds. A new theorem of the alternative for systems involving both equality constraints and two quadratic inequality constraints plays a key role. We also provide classes of quadratic programs, including a class of CDT-subproblems with linear equality constraints, where (SCQ) ensures regularized Lagrangian duality.  相似文献

In this paper we define two notions: Kuhn–Tucker saddle point invex problem with inequality constraints and Mond–Weir weak duality invex one. We prove that a problem is Kuhn–Tucker saddle point invex if and only if every point, which satisfies Kuhn–Tucker optimality conditions forms together with the respective Lagrange multiplier a saddle point of the Lagrange function. We prove that a problem is Mond–Weir weak duality invex if and only if weak duality holds between the problem and its Mond–Weir dual one. Additionally, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions, which ensure that strong duality holds between the problem with inequality constraints and its Wolfe dual. Connections with previously defined invexity notions are discussed.  相似文献

Mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints (MPEC) are nonlinear programs which do not satisfy any of the common constraint qualifications (CQ). In order to obtain first-order optimality conditions, constraint qualifications tailored to the MPECs have been developed and researched in the past. In this paper, we introduce a new Abadie-type constraint qualification for MPECs. We investigate sufficient conditions for this new CQ, discuss its relationship to several existing MPEC constraint qualifications, and introduce a new Slater-type constraint qualifications. Finally, we prove a new stationarity concept to be a necessary optimality condition under our new Abadie-type CQ.Communicated by Z. Q. Luo  相似文献

We consider nonlinear Lagrange and penalty functions for optimization problems with a single constraint. The convolution of the objective function and the constraint is accomplished by an increasing positively homogeneous of the first degree function. We study necessary and also sufficient conditions for the validity of the zero duality gap property for both Lagrange and penalty functions and for the exact penalization. We also study the so-called regular weak separation functions.  相似文献

We consider a multiobjective optimization problem with a feasible set defined by inequality and equality constraints and a set constraint, where the objective and constraint functions are locally Lipschitz. Several constraint qualifications are given in such a way that they generalize the classical ones, when the functions are differentiable. The relationships between them are analyzed. Then, we establish strong Kuhn–Tucker necessary optimality conditions in terms of the Clarke subdifferentials such that the multipliers of the objective function are all positive. Furthermore, sufficient optimality conditions under generalized convexity assumptions are derived. Moreover, the concept of efficiency is used to formulate duality for nonsmooth multiobjective problems. Wolf and Mond–Weir type dual problems are formulated. We also establish the weak and strong duality theorems.  相似文献

We consider stochastic optimization problems where risk-aversion is expressed by a stochastic ordering constraint. The constraint requires that a random vector depending on our decisions stochastically dominates a given benchmark random vector. We identify a suitable multivariate stochastic order and describe its generator in terms of von Neumann–Morgenstern utility functions. We develop necessary and sufficient conditions of optimality and duality relations for optimization problems with this constraint. Assuming convexity we show that the Lagrange multipliers corresponding to dominance constraints are elements of the generator of this order, thus refining and generalizing earlier results for optimization under univariate stochastic dominance constraints. Furthermore, we obtain necessary conditions of optimality for non-convex problems under additional smoothness assumptions.  相似文献

We first establish sufficient conditions ensuring strong duality for cone constrained nonconvex optimization problems under a generalized Slater-type condition. Such conditions allow us to cover situations where recent results cannot be applied. Afterwards, we provide a new complete characterization of strong duality for a problem with a single constraint: showing, in particular, that strong duality still holds without the standard Slater condition. This yields Lagrange multipliers characterizations of global optimality in case of (not necessarily convex) quadratic homogeneous functions after applying a generalized joint-range convexity result. Furthermore, a result which reduces a constrained minimization problem into one with a single constraint under generalized convexity assumptions, is also presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we study several types of basic constraint qualifications in terms of Clarke/Fréchet coderivatives for generalized equations. Several necessary and/or sufficient conditions are given to ensure these constraint qualifications. It is proved that basic constraint qualification and strong basic constraint qualification for convex generalized equations can be obtained by these constraint qualifications, and the existing results on constraint qualifications for the inequality system can be deduced from the given conditions in this paper. The main work of this paper is an extension of the study on constraint qualifications from inequality systems to generalized equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate relations between constraint qualifications in quasiconvex programming. At first, we show a necessary and sufficient condition for the closed cone constraint qualification for quasiconvex programming (Q-CCCQ), and investigate some sufficient conditions for the Q-CCCQ. Also, we consider a relation between the Q-CCCQ and the basic constraint qualification for quasiconvex programming (Q-BCQ) and we compare the Q-BCQ with some constraint qualifications.  相似文献

The quasi-Newton strategy presented in this paper preserves one of the most important features of the stabilized Sequential Quadratic Programming method, the local convergence without constraint qualifications assumptions. It is known that the primal-dual sequence converges quadratically assuming only the second-order sufficient condition. In this work, we show that if the matrices are updated by performing a minimization of a Bregman distance (which includes the classic updates), the quasi-Newton version of the method converges superlinearly without introducing further assumptions. Also, we show that even for an unbounded Lagrange multipliers set, the generated matrices satisfies a bounded deterioration property and the Dennis-Moré condition.  相似文献

Two theorems on converse duality are obtained for mathematical programs in Banach spaces. The proofs are based on a Banach-space generalization of the F. John necessary condition for a constrained minimum. No use is made of Kuhn-Tucker constraint qualifications. In the second theorem, the primal program contains a nonlinear equality constraint, and a converse duality theorem is obtained, using a modified concept of convexity; this result appears new, even for finite-dimensional programs. The results are applied to a problem in optimal control.  相似文献
