We study minimum energy point charges on the unit sphere in , , that interact according to the logarithmic potential , where is the Euclidean distance between points. Such optimal -point configurations are uniformly distributed as . We quantify this result by estimating the spherical cap discrepancy of optimal energy configurations. The estimate is of order . Essential is an improvement of the lower bound of the optimal logarithmic energy which yields the second term in the asymptotical expansion of the optimal energy. Previously, this was known for the unit sphere in only. Furthermore, we present an upper bound for the error of integration for an equally-weighted numerical integration rule with the nodes forming an optimal logarithmic energy configuration. For polynomials of degree at most this bound is as . For continuous functions of satisfying a Lipschitz condition with constant the bound is as .

The problem of interpolation at (n+1)2 points on the unit sphere by spherical polynomials of degree at most n is proved to have a unique solution for several sets of points. The points are located on a number of circles on the sphere with even number of points on each circle. The proof is based on a method of factorization of polynomials. We prove Manin's conjecture concerning the distribution of rational points of bounded height, and its refinement by Peyre, for wonderful compactifications of semi-simple algebraic groups over number fields. The proof proceeds via the study of the associated height zeta function and its spectral expansion.

We present a generalization of a family of points on S2, the Diamond ensemble, containing collections of N points on S2 with very small logarithmic energy for all NN. For a sequence of points { k } k = 1 included in a compact subset of the unit disk, we consider the orthogonal rational functions n that are obtained by orthogonalization of the sequence { 1, z / 1, z 2 / 2, ... } where , with respect to the inner product In this paper we discuss the behaviour of n (t) for t = 1 and n under certain conditions. The main condition on the weight is that it satisfies a Lipschitz–Dini condition and that it is bounded away from zero. Compared with planar hyperplane, fitting data on the sphere has been an important and active issue in geoscience, metrology, brain imaging, and so on. In this paper, using a functional approach, we rigorously prove that for given distinct samples on the unit sphere there exists a feed‐forward neural network with single hidden layer which can interpolate the samples, and simultaneously near best approximate the target function in continuous function space. Also, by using the relation between spherical positive definite radial basis functions and the basis function on the Euclidean space ?d + 1, a similar result in a spherical Sobolev space is established. The operaton on the n-complex unit sphere under study have three forms: the singular integrals with holomorphic kernels, the bounded and holomorphic Fourier multipliers, and the Cauchy-Dunford bounded and holomorphic functional calculus of the radial Dirac operator $D = \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {z_k \frac{\partial }{{\partial _{z_k } }}} $ . The equivalence between the three fom and the strong-type (p,p), 1 <p < ∞, and weak-type (1,1)-boundedness of the operators is proved. The results generalise the work of L. K. Hua, A. Korányli and S. Vagi, W. Rudin and S. Gong on the Cauchy-Szegö, kemel and the Cauchy singular integral operator.  相似文献
