Iridium(III) complexes with N‐heterocyclic (NHC) ligands including fac‐Ir(pmb)3 (1), mer‐Ir(pmb)3 (2), (pmb)2Ir(acac) (3), mer‐Ir(pypi)3 (4), and fac‐Ir(pypi)3 (5) [pmb = 1‐phenyl‐3H‐benzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene, acac = acetoylacetonate, pypi = 1‐phenyl‐5H‐benzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene; fac = facial, mer = meridional] were investigated theoretically. The geometry structures of 1–5 in the ground and excited state were optimized with restricted and unrestricted DFT (density functional theory) methods, respectively (LANL2DZ for Ir atom and 6‐31G for other atoms). The HOMOs (highest occupied molecular orbitals) of 1–3 are composed of d(Ir) and π(phenyl), while those of 4 and 5 are contributed by d(Ir) and π(carbene). The LUMOs (lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals) of 1, 2, 4, and 5 are localized on carbene, but that of 3 is localized on acac. The calculated lowest‐lying absorptions with TD‐DFT method based on Perdew‐Burke‐Erzenrhof (PBE) functional of 1 (310 nm), 2 (332 nm), and 3 (347 nm) have MLcarbeneCT/ILphenyl→carbeneCT (MLCT = metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer; ILCT = intraligand charge transfer) transition characters, whereas those of 4 (385 nm) and 5 (389 nm) are assigned to MLcarbeneCT/ILcarbene→carbeneCT transitions. The phosphorescences calculated by TD‐DFT method with PBE0 functional of 1 (386 nm) and 2 (388 nm) originate from 3MLcarbeneCT/3ILphenyl→carbeneCT excited states, but those of 4 (575 nm) and 5 (578 nm) come from 3MLcarbeneCT/3ILcarbene→carbeneCT excited states. The calculated results showed that the carbene and phenyl groups act as two independent chromophores in transition processes. Compared with 1 and 2, the absorptions of 4 and 5 are red‐shifted by increasing the effective π‐conjugation groups near the Ccarbene atom. We predicated that (pmb)2Ir(acac) is nonemissive, because the LUMO of 3 is contributed by the nonemissive acac ligand. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Comput Chem, 2010  相似文献

A series of oligo(thienylenevinylene) derivatives with or without thieno[3,2‐b]thiophene analogs as cores and three types substituent has been investigated at the PBE0/6‐31G(d) and the TD‐PBE0/6‐31+G(d,p) levels to design materials with high performance such as suitable frontier molecular orbital (FMO) energies to match those of [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) and its derivatives, broad absorption spectra, higher and balance transfer property, and better stability. The results reveal that fused cores have slight effects on photophysical properties of investigated derivatives. The electron‐withdrawing or push–pull substituents result in red shifts of absorption spectra and better stabilities for investigated derivatives. The calculated reorganization energies of designed derivatives suggest them to be good potential ambipolar transport materials under the proper operating conditions. The promising donors for PCBM, bisPCBM, PC70BM, and indene‐C60 bisadduct (ICBA) as acceptors are recommended theoretically for solar cells based on the proper match for FMOs between donors and acceptors. Moreover, we have also predicted the mobility of designed molecule with better performance. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The structural and electronic properties of fluorene‐phenylene copolymer (FP)n, n = 1–4 were studied by means of quantum chemical calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) and time dependent density functional theory (TD‐DFT) using B3LYP functional. Geometry optimizations of these oligomers were performed for the ground state and the lowest singlet excited state. It was found that (FP)n is nonplanar in its ground state while the electronic excitations lead to planarity in its S1 state. Absorption and fluorescence energies were calculated using TD‐B3LYP/SVP and TD‐B3LYP/SVP+ methods. Vertical excitation energies and fluorescence energies were obtained by extrapolating these values to infinite chain length, resulting in extrapolated values for vertical excitation energy of 2.89 and 2.87 eV, respectively. The S1 ← S0 electronic excitation is characterized as a highest occupied molecular orbital to lowest unoccupied molecular orbital transition and is distinguishing in terms of oscillator strength. Fluorescence energies of (FP)n calculated from TD‐B3LYP/SVP and TD‐B3LYP/SVP+ methods are 2.27 and 2.26 eV, respectively. Radiative lifetimes are predicted to be 0.55 and 0.51 ns for TD‐B3LYP/SVP and TD‐B3LYP/SVP+ calculations, respectively. These fundamental information are valuable data in designing and making of promising materials for LED materials. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Comput Chem, 2010  相似文献

We study the orbital‐dependence of three (parameter‐free) double‐hybrid density functionals, namely the PBE0‐DH, the PBE‐QIDH models, and the SOS1‐PBE‐QIDH spin‐opposite‐scaled variant of the latter. To do it, we feed all their energy terms with different sets of orbitals obtained previously from self‐consistent density functional theory calculations using several exchange‐correlation functionals (e.g., PBE, PBE0, PBEH&H), or directly with HF‐PBE orbitals, to see their effect on selected datasets for atomization and reaction energies, the latter proned to marked self‐interaction errors. We find that the PBE‐QIDH double‐hybrid model shows a great consistency, as the best results are always obtained for the set of orbitals corresponding to its hybrid scheme, which prompts us to recommend this model without any other fitting or reparameterization. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

O1s core‐electron binding energies (CEBE) of the atomic oxygens on different Ag surfaces were investigated by the symmetry adapted cluster‐configuration interaction (SAC‐CI) method combined with the dipped adcluster model, in which the electron exchange between bulk metal and adsorbate is taken into account properly. Electrophilic and nucleophilic oxygens (Oelec and Onuc) that might be important for olefin epoxidation in a low‐oxygen coverage condition were focused here. We consider the O1s CEBE as a key property to distinguish the surface oxygen states, and series of calculation was carried out by the Hartree–Fock, Density functional theory, and SAC/SAC‐CI methods. The experimental information and our SAC/SAC‐CI results indicate that Oelec is the atomic oxygen adsorbed on the fcc site of Ag(111) and that Onuc is the one on the reconstructed added‐row site of Ag(110) and that one‐ and two‐electron transfers occur, respectively, to the Oelec and Onuc adclusters from the silver surface. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Excited states of fluorene‐ethylenedioxythiophene (FEDOT) and fluorene‐S,S‐dioxide‐thiophene (FTSO2) monomers and dimers were studied by the symmetry‐adapted cluster (SAC)‐configuration interaction (CI) method. The absorption and emission peaks observed in the experimental spectra were theoretically assigned. The first three excited states of the optimized conformers, and the conformers of several torsional angles, were computed by SAC‐CI/D95(d). Accurate absorption spectra were simulated by taking the thermal average for the conformers of torsional angles from 0° to 90°. The conformers of torsional angles 0°, 15°, and 30° mainly contributed to the absorption spectra. The full width at half‐maximum of the FEDOT absorption band is 0.60 eV (4839 cm?1), which agrees very well with the experimental value of 0.61 eV (4900 cm?1). The maximum absorption wavelength is located at 303 nm, which is close to those of the experimental band (327 nm). The calculated absorption spectrum of FTSO2 showed two bands in the range of 225–450 nm. This agrees very well with the available experimental spectrum of a polymer of FTSO2, where two bands are detected. The excited‐state geometries were investigated by CIS/6‐31G(d). These showed a quinoid‐type structure which exhibited a shortening of the inter‐ring distance (0.06 Å for FEDOT and 0.04 Å for FTSO2). The calculated emission energy of FEDOT is 3.43 eV, which agrees very well with the available experimental data (3.46 eV). The fwhmE is about 0.49 eV (3952 cm?1), while the experimental fwhm is 0.43 eV (3500 cm?1). For FTSO2, two bands were also found in the emission spectrum. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The platinum‐platinum attraction and the spectroscopic properties of [Pt3(μ‐CO)3(CO)3] (n = 3–5) were studied at the PBE level. Theoretical calculations are in agreement with experimental geometries. The absorption spectra of these platinum complexes were calculated by the single excitation time‐dependent (TD) density functional method. All complexes showed MLCT transitions interrelated with the intertriangular complexes. The values obtained at the PBE level are in agreement with the experimental color range. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2009  相似文献

Seven derivatives of 1,2‐dicarbadodecaborane (ortho‐carborane, 1,2‐C2B10H12) with a 1,3‐diethyl‐ or 1,3‐diphenyl‐1,3,2‐benzodiazaborolyl group on one cage carbon atom were synthesized and structurally characterized. Six of these compounds showed remarkable low‐energy fluorescence emissions with large Stokes shifts of 15100–20260 cm?1 and quantum yields (ΦF) of up to 65 % in the solid state. The low‐energy fluorescence emission, which was assigned to a charge‐transfer (CT) transition between the cage and the heterocyclic unit, depended on the orientation (torsion angle, ψ) of the diazaborolyl group with respect to the cage C? C bond. In cyclohexane, two compounds exhibited very weak dual fluorescence emissions with Stokes shifts of 15660–18090 cm?1 for the CT bands and 1960–5540 cm?1 for the high‐energy bands, which were assigned to local transitions within the benzodiazaborole units (local excitation, LE), whereas four compounds showed only CT bands with ΦF values between 8–32 %. Two distinct excited singlet‐state (S1) geometries, denoted S1(LE) and S1(CT), were observed computationally for the benzodiazaborolyl‐ortho‐carboranes, the population of which depended on their orientation (ψ). TD‐DFT calculations on these excited state geometries were in accord with their CT and LE emissions. These C‐diazaborolyl‐ortho‐carboranes were viewed as donor–acceptor systems with the diazaborolyl group as the donor and the ortho‐carboranyl group as the acceptor.  相似文献

The calculations based on the linear combination of atomic orbitals have been performed for the low‐temperature phase of BaTiO3 crystal. Structural and electronic properties, as well as phonon frequencies were obtained using hybrid PBE0 exchange–correlation functional. The calculated frequencies and total energies at different volumes have been used to determine the equation of state and thermal contribution to the Helmholtz free energy within the quasiharmonic approximation. For the first time, the bulk modulus, volume thermal expansion coefficient, heat capacity, and Grüneisen parameters in BaTiO3 rhombohedral phase have been estimated at zero pressure and temperatures form 0 to 200 K, based on the results of first‐principles calculations. Empirical equation has been proposed to reproduce the temperature dependence of the calculated quantities. The agreement between the theoretical and experimental thermodynamic properties was found to be satisfactory. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Recently, we showed that unoccupied Kohn‐Sham (KS) orbitals stemming from DFT calculations of a neutral system can be used to derive accurate estimates of the free energy and electronic couplings for excess electron transfer in DNA (Félix and Voityuk, J Phys Chem A 2008, 112, 9043). In this article, we consider the propagation of radical cation states (hole transfer) through DNA π‐stacks and compare the performance of different exchange‐correlation functionals to estimate the hole transfer (HT) parameters. Two different approaches are used: (1) calculations that use occupied KS orbitals of neutral π stacks of nucleobases, and (2) the time‐dependent DFT method which is applied to the radical cation states of these stacks. Comparison of the calculated parameters with the reference data suggests that the best results are provided by the KS scheme with hybrid functionals (B3LYP, PBE0, and BH&HLYP). The TD DFT approach gives significantly less accurate values of the HT parameters. In agreement with high‐level ab initio results, the KS scheme predicts that the hole in π stacks is confined to a single nucleobase; in contrast, the spin‐unrestricted DFT method considerably overestimates the hole delocalization in the radical cations. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of unsymmetrical (D‐A‐D1, D1‐π‐D‐A‐D1, and D1‐A1‐D‐A2‐D1; A=acceptor, D=donor) and symmetrical (D1‐A‐D‐A‐D1) phenothiazines ( 4 b , 4 c , 4 c′ , 5 b , 5 c , 5 d , 5 d′ , 5 e , 5 e′ , 5 f , and 5 f′ ) were designed and synthesized by a [2+2] cycloaddition–electrocyclic ring‐opening reaction of ferrocenyl‐substituted phenothiazines with tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and 7,7,8,8‐tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). The photophysical, electrochemical, and computational studies show a strong charge‐transfer (CT) interaction in the phenothiazine derivatives that can be tuned by varying the number of TCNE/TCNQ acceptors. Phenothiazines 4 b , 4 c , 4 c′ , 5 b , 5 c , 5 d , 5 d′ , 5 e , 5 e′ , 5 f and 5 f′ show redshifted absorption in the λ =400 to 900 nm region, as a result of a low HOMO–LUMO gap, which is supported by TD‐DFT calculations. The electrochemical study exhibits reduction waves at low potential due to strong 1,1,4,4‐tetracyanobuta‐1,3‐diene (TCBD) and cyclohexa‐2,5‐diene‐1,4‐ylidene‐expanded TCBD acceptors. The incorporation of cyclohexa‐2,5‐diene‐1,4‐ylidene‐expanded TCBD stabilized the LUMO energy level to a greater extent than TCBD.  相似文献

Absorption and fluorescence spectra of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have been computed by using time‐dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). Different functionals, including PBE, TPSSh, B3LYP, PBE0, CAM‐B3LYP, and LC‐ωPBE, have been tested and B3LYP/6‐31G(d) has been proven to be the most accurate method for our work. The bulk solvent effects of toluene and dichloromethane have been assessed by using the polarizable continuum model (PCM). The absorption wavelength of GQDs in solvents is red‐shifted compared with that in the gas phase. Edge functionalization effects analysis shows that a small number of substituted groups on GQDs induce a small redshift whereas a large redshift occurs when the edges of GQDs are all decorated. Little difference in the fluorescent emission was observed in solvents and in the gas phase. Molecular orbital transition and transition density matrix analysis have been performed. The electronic transition mainly occurs in the middle part of the structure of C132. The strong absorption of C132 corresponds to a S0→S3 transition and the fluorescence emission is ascribed to a S1→S0 transition, which indicates that Kasha’s rule is obeyed.  相似文献
