We shall observe that the renormalization of the string operator U(x1, x2; C) = Pexp{igx1x2dxμAμ(x)} with an open path C (smooth and non-intersecting) is path-independently performed in any order of perturbation. To demonstrate this, the renormalization constants will be calculated up to order g4. Next the renormalization effect on the algebraic identity U(x1, x2; C)U(x2, x3; C) = U(x1, x3; CC) will be discussed and it will be proved that the renormalization preserves the algebraic identity in any order of perturbation if the paths C and C are smoothly connected at x2. Finally, the string operator renormalization is extended to the case when the path C is smoothly closed (the Wilson loop operator). It is then shown that the renormalization factor which multiplicatively renormalizes the string operator in the case of the open path, is cancelled in any order of perturbation by the divergence appearing in the coincidence of the end points. As a results, the Wilson loop operator can be renormalized by the coupling constant renormalization alone.  相似文献

The specific heat CP is found to vary as dRdT in the critical region above TN for the antiferromagnets GdSb and HoSb. This correspondence holds despite a dramatic difference between the two systems in the strength of the divergence CP = A??α, ? = (T ? TN)TN, where for HoSb we find α = 0.83 ± 0.10 while for GdSb α = 0.20 ± 0.10.  相似文献

The Brillouin scattering techniques have been used to measure the velocity dispersion of hypersonic acoustic waves in the “high temperature” disordered cubic phase of adamantane. Shear waves, characteristic of the C44 elastic constant, show no significant dispersion. Longitudinal waves propagating in the (001) plane show strong velocity dispersion. The measures have been performed at the same temperature T = 295.7 K. Using a classical single relaxation time model for the dispersion as a function of frequency at temperature T, the L-mode data have been correctly fitted.The importance of the dispersion (C ? Co)C0 for the elastic constants is 20% for C11, 51% for C12 #1% for C44 and ?2.8% for (C11 ? C12)2. The fitted relaxation time is τ ? 9 × 10?11 sec.  相似文献

The C33 constant is discontinuous for the lock-in transition at T1 = 169 K. The variation ΔT1 of the temperature of transition is a linear function of the applied electric field E and we find dT1dE=0.82 deg.cm kV?1.Above a mean field E = 10 kV cm?1 the transition observed for a first heating spreads on several degrees because damages appear in the incommensurate phase and the electric field becomes inhomogeneous.The results obtained at low fields are in very good accordance with the value of dT1dE calculated from the Clapeyron formula.Taking into account of the incommensurability of the phase above T1, it can be shown that
dT1dE = C2πPo33 ? 2
The knowledge of the spontaneous polarisation P0 gives for the Curie constant C = 2.1 × 103 K in qualitative agreement with the value deduced from measurements of the dielectric constant in the ferroelectric direction.  相似文献

Experimental evidence using Josephson junction devices has suggested that Johnson noise in copper fails to be proportional to absolute temperature below 10 millikelvin. A microscopic theory is presented which gives the Johnson noise temperature TJ = ?01XT0 coth (XT0T) dX where T0 = F2kN. For copper, the calculated T0 = 3.84 mK agrees closely with the value extracted from experimental data, 3.89 mK. Within a few percent, TJ ? (T02) coth (T02T), and this adequately fits the available experimental data. νF is the fermi velocity and N is the length of the resistor. The Johnson noise parameter “T0” presumably can measure νF along different crystal orientations.  相似文献

Amorphous Fe40Ni40B20 (VITROVAC 0040) alloy has been investigated using 57Fe Mössbauer Spectroscopy. The Curie temperature Tc is found to be well defined and is 695 ± 1 K. The quadrupole splitting just above Tc is 0.64 mm sec?1. The crystallization temperature is 698 ± 2 K, close to but definitely above Tc. The average hyperfine field Heff(T) of the glassy state shows a temperature dependence of Heff(0)[1 ? B32(T/Tc)32 ? C52(T/Tc)52 ? …] indicative of the existence of spin wave excitations. The values of B32 and C52 are found to be 0.40 and 0.06, respectively, for T/Tc ? 0.72. At temperatures close to Tc, Heff(T) varies as (1 ? T/Tc)β where β is one of the critical exponents and its value is found to be 0.29 ± 0.02.  相似文献

If KS1,Lis a K1 resonance decaying into KS,L (the short- and long-lived kaon) and a neutral system So of pions, one can isolate the C-even and C-odd, crossed-channel contributions to KN → K1N by using the reactions KLN → KS1, LN whether So is a C-eigenstate, or a mixture of C-even and C-odd states. Applications to the production of K1(890) and the Q-meson are discussed, and simple numerical predictions made for QS,L production. Q-production data indicate approximate t-channel helicity conservation for the ω and P' exchanges at vertices involving a spin change, in similarity to the belief for the pomeron. QS,L production data can give information also on Q-decays.  相似文献

It is proved that the reduced p-particle matrix (p?N) corresponding to a 2-temperature equilibrium state of a system of N coupled oscillators (the two temperatures Ttr and Tre1 relating to the translational and relative motion of the latter) coincides with the density matrix of a two-temperature canonical ensemble of an effective system of p coupled oscillators, the effective temperature T?re1 being equal to Tre1 while T?tr≠Ttr, and in particular T?tr>0 for Ttr=0.  相似文献

It is known that a scalar field that is non-minimally coupled to the geometry implies a varying gravitational “constant” Geff, and hence a violation of the continuity equations, T?ik;k ≠ 0, where T?ij is the uncorrected energy-momentum tensor. This in turn upsets classical thermodynamics. 3he simplest resolution of this difficulty is to multiply all energetic quantities by GeffGN, where GN is the newtonian gravitational constant. This modified thermodynamics is applied to the scalar-field version of the cosmological model of Zee, for which it is shown to cause restoration of the symmetry above some critical temperature Tc close to the Planck temperature. We also illustrate how the second law of thermodynamics is always obeyed, correcting a recent discussion by Davies.  相似文献

Values of dC/dT)V have been computed from experimental dC/dT)P and dC/dP)T for the three elastic constants (expressed as BT, C44and(C11?C12)2) of each of the 16 Li, Na, K, and Rb halides. The dC/dT)V measure the explicit dependence of C on T, the effect of thermal expansion having been removed. The dC/dT)V are all small (compared with dC/dT)P), are all negative, and vary quite systematically and smoothly with anion, with cation and with the three elastic constants. Negative dBT/dT)V is accounted for both thermodynamically and by available lattice dynamical calculations. dC/dT)V for shear constant is expressed in terms of two vibrational mode parameters, whose values can then be estimated from the observed value, and the trend of dC/dT)V with Debye temperature.  相似文献

By Monte Carlo simulation on the lattice, we calculate the high-temperature behaviour of the energy density ? in SU(2) and SU(3) QCD with Wilson fermions. From the leading term of the hopping parameter expansion, we find that ? converges very rapidly to the Stefan-Boltzmann limit of an asymptotically free quark-gluon gas. The behaviour in the non-asymptotic region indicates that chiral symmetry restoration occurs at a higher temperature (Tch) than colour deconfinement (Tc), with TchTc ≈ 1.3.  相似文献

The specific heat (Cp) of the amorphous alloys Ni100-xZrx for x = 75, 65, 55 and 35 was measured from 0.8K to 40K and the composition trends of the transition temperature Tc, the enhanced density of states at the Fermi level Nγ(F) and the Debye temperatures θD(0), θD(T) established. For the three superconducting compositions (x=75, 65, 55) Nγ(EF increases rapidly with increasing [Zr] in agreement with the trend in amorphous Cu-Zr alloys. However, for the Zr-Ni alloys the bare density of states N0(EF) = Nγ(EF)(1 + λp) increases strongly with [Zr] in contrast to the Zr-Cu alloys where it is reported to be almost constant. We conclude that for the Ni-Zr alloys the electron-ion matrix element <I2> decreases with increasing [Zr]. Other results are related to recent photoemission studies of these alloys.  相似文献

The renormalization of Abelian and non-Abelian local gauge theories is discussed. It is recalled that whereas Abelian gauge theories are invariant to local c-number gauge transformations δAμ(x) = ?μ,…, withΛ = 0, and to the operator gauge transformation δAμ(x) = ?μφ(x), …, δφ(x) = α?1?·A(x), with □φ = 0, non-Abelian gauge theories are invariant only to the operator gauge transformations δAμ(x) ~ μC(x), …, introduced by Becchi, Rouet and Stora, where
μ is the covariant derivative matrix and C is the vector of ghost fields. The renormalization of these gauge transformation is discussed in a formal way, assuming that a gauge-invariant regularization is present. The naive renormalized local non-Abelian c-number gauge transformation δAμ(x) = (Z1/Z3)gAμ(x) × Λ(x)+?μΛ(x), …, is never a symmetry transformation and is never finite in perturbation theory. Only for Λ(x) = (Z3/Z1)L with L finite constants or for Λ(x) = Ωz?3C(x) with Ω a finite constant does it become a finite symmetry transformation, where z?3 is the ghost field renormalization constant. The renormalized non-Abelian Ward-Takahashi (Slavnov-Taylor) identities are consequences of the invariance of the renormalized gauge theory to this formation. It is also shown how the symmetry generators are renormalized, how photons appear as Goldstone bosons, how the (non-multiplicatively renormalizable) composite operator Aμ × C is renormalized, and how an Abelian c-number gauge symmetry may be reinstated in the exact solution of many asymptotically fr ee non-Abelian gauge theories.  相似文献

The optical linear magnetic birefringence of single-domain NiO crystals was measured at temperatures above and below the antiferromagnetic phase transition. The analysis of the experimental data yield a Néel temperature of TN = (523.7 ± 0.2)K and a critical exponent β = 0.325+0.01-0.02 which determines the temperature behaviour of the magnetic long range order parameter S? ~ (1?TTN)β. This critical behaviour of S? is found to be continued to temperatures well below TN.  相似文献

Spin lattice relaxation T1 of naturally abundant 13C nuclei in squaric acid was measured close to the antiferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition temperature Tc = 373 K. A rapid increase in 1T1 is observed close to Tc coming from above, which follows the power law 1T1 ~ ε?1.4 where ε = (T ? Tc)Tc. The order α(Q2) correction to the particle multiplicity ratio in gluon and quark jets is calculated in QCD. We find

The absorption and MCD spectra of the 4A2g4T2g, 4A2g, 4A2g4T1ga and 4A2g4T1gb spin-allowed transitions of Cr3+ in K2NaGaF6 are reported. It is shown that transitions to the 4T1g. states are induced by T1u vibratio the other spin-allowed transition, 4A2g4T2g, there are three competing intensity mechanisms: electric dipole induced by T1u vibrations, electric dipole induced by T2u vibrations and magnetic dipole, and an estimate is made of the relative importance of these. The magnetic dipole 4A2g2Eg zero-phonon line is observed to be accompanied by a vibrational sideband for which the coupling is predominantly with T2u vibrations. Other weak transitions are observed in MCD spectra and their origin briefly discussed.  相似文献

Previously unobserved acetylene 1Au(1Σu?) → 1Σg+ fluorescence occurs following 1933-Å ArF laser excitation of C2H2 or C2H4 and their deuterated analogs in solid Ne and Ar hosts at 4.2 K. Acetylene is a photolysis product of matrix-isolated ethylene. Ground-state vibrational levels as high as ν3 = 30 of the degenerate ν3 bending vibration are observed for C2D2. Only ν3 is appreciably active in the fluorescence. The negative ν3 anharmonicity, previously observed in the gas phase, also occurs in Ne host. Consideration of rotational selection rules indicates that the Ne host strongly hinders free rotation about the low-moment-of-inertia a? axis in the excited state.  相似文献

It is shown how disordered local-moment states, in a metal such as Fe, may be stabilized by constraining magnetic fields. Effective interaction parameters between moments are defined in terms of spin density functional theory. On removing the constraints the moments initially precess but then decay rapidly, the latter process leading to an energy width of S(q, ω) at large q of order (kBTCW)12, where TC is the Curie temperature and W is the width of the d-band. T he consequences for neutron scattering experiments are discussed and the rather different case of Ni is considered.  相似文献
