Uniqueness and regularity results for local vector-valued generalized minimizers and for local stress tensors associated to variational problems with linear growth conditions are established. If the energy density f has structure f(Z) = h(|Z|), only very weak ellipticity assumptions are required. For the proof we combine arguments from measure theory and convex analysis with regularity results obtained by the authors recently. Bibliography: 33 titles.  相似文献

We consider nonuniformly elliptic variational problems and give optimal conditions guaranteeing the local Lipschitz regularity of solutions in terms of the regularity of the given data. The analysis catches the main model cases in the literature. Integrals with fast, exponential-type growth conditions as well as integrals with unbalanced polynomial growth conditions are covered. Our criteria involve natural limiting function spaces and reproduce, in this very general context, the classical and optimal ones known in the linear case for the Poisson equation. Moreover, we provide new and natural growth a priori estimates whose validity was an open problem. Finally, we find new results also in the classical uniformly elliptic case. Beyond the specific results, the paper proposes a new approach to nonuniform ellipticity that, in a sense, allows us to reduce nonuniform elliptic problems to uniformly elliptic ones via potential theoretic arguments that are for the first time applied in this setting. © 2019 the Authors. In this article, we derive some equivalences of generalized mixed non-linear programs, generalized mixed least-element problems, generalized mixed complementarity problems and generalized mixed variational inequality problems under certain regularity and growth conditions. We also generalize the notion of a Z-type map for point-to-set maps. Our results improve and extend recent results in the literature.  相似文献

We consider integrals of the calculus of variations over a set Ω of ? n , and the related regularity result: are the minimizers smooth functions, say for example of classC (Ω)? Classically, the so-called natural growth conditions on the integrand have been the main sufficient assumptions for regularity. In recent years, motivated also by application, the interest in the study of this problem has increased under more general growth assumptions. In this paper, we propose some general growth conditions that guarantee regularity for a class of scalar variational problems.  相似文献

We derive a global regularity theorem for stress fields which correspond to minimizers of convex and some special nonconvex variational problems with mixed boundary conditions on admissible domains. These are Lipschitz domains satisfying additional geometric conditions near those points, where the type of the boundary conditions changes. In the first part it is assumed that the energy densities defining the variational problem are convex but not necessarily strictly convex and satisfy a convexity inequality. The regularity result for this case is derived with a difference quotient technique. In the second part the regularity results are carried over from the convex case to special nonconvex variational problems taking advantage of the relation between nonconvex variational problems and the corresponding (quasi-) convexified problems. The results are applied amongst others to the variational problems for linear elasticity, the p-Laplace operator, Hencky elasto-plasticity with linear hardening and for scalar and vectorial two-well potentials (compatible case).   相似文献

The paper is devoted to developing second-order tools of variational analysis and their applications to characterizing tilt-stable local minimizers of constrained optimization problems infinite-dimensional spaces with many results new also in finite-dimensional settings. The importance of tilt stability has been well recognized from both theoretical and numerical aspects of optimization. Based on second-order generalized differentiation, we obtain qualitative and quantitative characterizations of tilt stability in general frameworks of constrained optimization and establish its relationships with strong metric regularity of subgradient mappings and uniform second-order growth. The results obtained are applied to deriving new necessary and sufficient conditions for tilt-stable minimizers in problems of nonlinear programming with twice continuously differentiable data in Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

We investigate regularity conditions in optimal control problems with mixed constraints of a general geometric type, in which a closed non-convex constraint set appears. A closely related question to this issue concerns the derivation of necessary optimality conditions under some regularity conditions on the constraints. By imposing strong and weak regularity condition on the constraints, we provide necessary optimality conditions in the form of Pontryagin maximum principle for the control problem with mixed constraints. The optimality conditions obtained here turn out to be more general than earlier results even in the case when the constraint set is convex. The proofs of our main results are based on a series of technical lemmas which are gathered in the Appendix.  相似文献

We prove local existence, uniqueness, Hölder regularity in space and time, and smooth dependence in Hölder spaces for a general class of quasilinear parabolic initial boundary value problems with nonsmooth data. As a result the gap between low smoothness of the data, which is typical for many applications, and high smoothness of the solutions, which is necessary for the applicability of differential calculus to abstract formulations of the initial boundary value problems, has been closed. The theory works for any space dimension, and the nonlinearities in the equations as well as in the boundary conditions are allowed to be nonlocal and to have any growth. The main tools are new maximal regularity results (Griepentrog in Adv Differ Equ 12:781–840, 1031–1078, 2007) in Sobolev–Morrey spaces for linear parabolic initial boundary value problems with nonsmooth data, linearization techniques and the Implicit Function Theorem.  相似文献

We give a complete discussion of the C or analytic regularity of blow-up curves for Cauchy problems or some mixed problems for the Liouville equation in one space dimension. In the case of mixed problems, the regularity results depend on the boundary condition: actually, we show the existence of a sequence of boundary conditions for which the regularity of the blow-up curve is better than in the general case.  相似文献

The regularity for solutions of elliptic equations is rather perfectly solved. But it does not so perfect for that of elliptic variational inequalities. In literature only different special situations are considered. Now the boundedness, C^{0,λ} continuity and C^{1,α} regularity are proved for solutions of one-sided obstacle problems under more general structural conditions, in which the growth orders of u are permitted to reach the critical exponents and the growth order ϒ of the gradient in D is permitted to be super critical as 1 < p < n.  相似文献

We study the regularity in Sobolev spaces of the solution of transmission problems in a polygonal domain of the plane, with unilateral boundary conditions of Signorini's type in a part of the boundary and Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions on the remainder part. We use a penalization method combined with an appropriated lifting argument to get uniform estimates of the approximated solutions in order to obtain some minimal regularity results for the exact solution. The same method allows us to consider problems with thin obstacles. It can be easily extended to 3D problems. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

In this paper, existence and characterization of solutions and duality aspects of infinite-dimensional convex programming problems are examined. Applications of the results to constrained approximation problems are considered. Various duality properties for constrained interpolation problems over convex sets are established under general regularity conditions. The regularity conditions are shown to hold for many constrained interpolation problems. Characterizations of local proximinal sets and the set of best approximations are also given in normed linear spaces. The author is grateful to the referee for helpful suggestions which have contributed to the final preparation of this paper. The present paper deals with the well-posedness and regularity of one class of one-dimensional time-dependent boundary-value problems with global boundary conditions on the entire time interval. We establish conditions for the well-posedness of boundary-value problems for partial differential equations in the class of bounded differentiable functions. A criterion for the regularity of the problem under consideration is also obtained.  相似文献

Abstract

We consider some unilateral boundary value problems in polygonal and polyhedral domains with unilateral transmission conditions. Regularity results in terms of weighted Sobolev spaces are obtained using a penalization technique, similar regularity results for the penalized problems and by showing uniform estimates with respect to the penalization parameter.  相似文献

This paper mainly deals with the study of directional versions of metric regularity and metric subregularity for general set-valued mappings between infinite-dimensional spaces. Using advanced techniques of variational analysis and generalized differentiation, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions, which extend even the known results for the conventional metric regularity. Finally, these results are applied to non-smooth optimization problems. We show that that at a locally optimal solution M-stationarity conditions are fulfilled if the constraint mapping is subregular with respect to one critical direction and that for every critical direction a M-stationarity condition, possibly with different multipliers, is fulfilled.  相似文献

In the context of complementarity problems, various concepts of solution regularity are known, each of them playing a certain role in the related theoretical and algorithmic developments. Despite the existence of rich literature on this subject, it appears that the exact relations between some of these regularity concepts remained unknown. In this note, we not only summarize the existing results on the subject but also establish the missing relations filling all the gaps in the current understanding of how different regularity concepts relate to each other. In particular, we demonstrate that strong regularity is in fact equivalent to nonsingularity of all matrices in the natural outer estimates of the generalized Jacobians of the most widely used residual mappings for complementarity problems. On the other hand, we show that CD-regularity of the natural residual mapping does not imply even BD-regularity of the Fischer–Burmeister residual mapping. As a result, we provide the complete picture of relations between the most important regularity conditions for mixed complementarity problems, with a special emphasis on those conditions used to justify the related numerical methods. A special attention is paid to the particular cases of a nonlinear complementarity problem and of a Karush–Kuhn–Tucker system.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear elliptic problems involving a nonlocal operator: the square root of the Laplacian in a bounded domain with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions. For positive solutions to problems with power nonlinearities, we establish existence and regularity results, as well as a priori estimates of Gidas-Spruck type. In addition, among other results, we prove a symmetry theorem of Gidas-Ni-Nirenberg type.  相似文献
