As a remarkable class of plasmonic materials, two dimensional (2D) semiconductor compounds have attracted attention owing to their controlled manipulation of plasmon resonances in the visible light spectrum, which outperforms conventional noble metals. However, tuning of plasmonic resonances for 2D semiconductors remains challenging. Herein, we design a novel method to obtain amorphous molybdenum oxide (MoO3) nanosheets, in which it combines the oxidation of MoS2 and subsequent supercritical CO2‐treatment, which is a crucial step for the achievement of amorphous structure of MoO3. Upon illumination, hydrogen‐doped MoO3 exhibits tuned surface plasmon resonances in the visible and near‐IR regions. Moreover, a unique behavior of the amorphous MoO3 nanosheets has been found in an optical biosensing system; there is an optimum plasmon resonance after incubation with different BSA concentrations, suggesting a tunable plasmonic device in the near future.  相似文献

Introducing plasmonic metals into semiconductor materials has been proven to be an attractive strategy for enhancing photocatalytic activity in the visible region. In this work, a novel and efficient Ag/Ag2WO4/g‐C3N4 (AACN) ternary plasmonic photocatalyst was successfully synthesized using a facile one‐step in situ hydrothermal method. The composition, structure, morphology and optical absorption properties of AACN were investigated using X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, respectively. Photocatalytic performance of AACN was evaluated via rhodamine B and tetracycline degradation. The results indicated that AACN had excellent photocatalytic performance for rhodamine B degradation with a rate constant of 0.0125 min?1, which was higher than those of Ag2WO4 and Ag/Ag2WO4. Characterization and photocatalytic tests showed that the strong coupling effect between the Ag/Ag2WO4 nanoparticles and the exfoliated ultrathin g‐C3N4 nanosheets was superior for visible‐light responsivity and reduced the recombination rate of photogenerated electrons and holes. A proposed mechanism is also discussed according to the band energy structure and the experimental results.  相似文献

Great strides have been made in enhancing solar energy conversion by utilizing plasmonic nanostructures in semiconductors. However, current generation with plasmonic nanostructures is still somewhat inefficient owing to the ultrafast decay of plasmon‐induced hot electrons. It is now shown that the ultrafast decay of hot electrons across Au nanoparticles can be significantly reduced by strong coupling with CdS quantum dots and by a Schottky junction with perovskite SrTiO3 nanoparticles. The designed plasmonic nanostructure with three distinct components enables a hot‐electron‐assisted energy cascade for electron transfer, CdS→Au→SrTiO3, as demonstrated by steady‐state and time‐resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. Consequently, hot‐electron transfer enabled the efficient production of H2 from water as well as significant electron harvesting under irradiation with visible light of various wavelengths. These findings provide a new approach for overcoming the low efficiency that is typically associated with plasmonic nanostructures.  相似文献

Although many two‐dimensional (2D) hybrid nanostructures are being prepared, the engineering of epitaxial 2D semiconductor hetero‐nanostructures in the liquid phase still remains a challenge. The preparation of 2D semiconductor hetero‐nanostructures by epitaxial growth of metal sulfide nanocrystals, including CuS, ZnS and Ni3S2, is achieved on ultrathin TiS2 nanosheets by a simple electrochemical approach by using the TiS2 crystal and metal foils. Ultrathin CuS nanoplates that are 50–120 nm in size and have a triangular/hexagonal shape are epitaxially grown on TiS2 nanosheets with perfect epitaxial alignment. ZnS and Ni3S2 nanoplates can be also epitaxially grown on TiS2 nanosheets. As a proof‐of‐concept application, the obtained 2D CuS–TiS2 composite is used as the anode in a lithium ion battery, which exhibits a high capacity and excellent cycling stability.  相似文献

A straightforward aqueous synthesis of MoO3?x nanoparticles at room temperature was developed by using (NH4)6Mo7O24?4 H2O and MoCl5 as precursors in the absence of reductants, inert gas, and organic solvents. SEM and TEM images indicate the as‐prepared products are nanoparticles with diameters of 90–180 nm. The diffuse reflectance UV‐visible‐near‐IR spectra of the samples indicate localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) properties generated by the introduction of oxygen vacancies. Owing to its strong plasmonic absorption in the visible‐light and near‐infrared region, such nanostructures exhibit an enhancement of activity toward visible‐light catalytic hydrogen generation. MoO3?x nanoparticles synthesized with a molar ratio of MoVI/MoV 1:1 show the highest yield of H2 evolution. The cycling catalytic performance has been investigated to indicate the structural and chemical stability of the as‐prepared plasmonic MoO3?x nanoparticles, which reveals its potential application in visible‐light catalytic hydrogen production.  相似文献

Photocatalytic degradation of pollutants under visible light provides a new door to solve the water contamination problem by utilizing free and renewable sunlight. The search for highly efficient photocatalysts with hierarchical nanostructures remains crucial for accessing this new door. In this work, a new hierarchical nanostructured photocatalyst is designed and synthesized, for the first time, by anchoring In2S3 flower‐like nanostructures on non‐woven carbon nanofiber (CNF). The nanostructures of these CNF–In2S3 composites were fine‐tuned, with the aim of achieving the highest photocatalytic activity under visible light. The formation mechanism of the hierarchical nanostructure is also investigated. The results indicate that the optimized hierarchical CNF–In2S3 photocatalyst is superior in photodegradation and disinfection efficiency to that of pure In2S3 under visible‐light irradiation. The prominent photocatalytic activities of these hierarchical CNF–In2S3 photocatalysts can be attributed to the excellent properties of enhanced light absorption, large surface area, and efficient charge separation, which are all derived from the special three‐dimensional hierarchical nanostructures. Therefore, this work presents the great potential of this hierarchical nanostructured CNF–In2S3 photocatalyst in practical environmental remediation fields.  相似文献

The development of new semiconductor photocatalysts toward splitting water has supplied a promising way to obtain sustainable and clean hydrogen energy. Herein, CdZnS@layered double hydroxide (LDH) composites with a hierarchical flower‐like microstructure have been fabricated with the aid of ZnCr–LDH nanosheets as templates. XRD, SEM and HRTEM show that the ZnCr–LDH nanosheets are uniformly dispersed within the composites. The surface of the hierarchical structures is rough and composed of numerous nanocrystals of CdZnS. The HRTEM images indicate that the surface of CdZnS nanocrystals is mainly composed of the (111) plane. Moreover, the visible‐light‐driven H2 production performance of the CdZnS in the presence and absence of ZnCr–LDH nanosheets has been measured. The results show that ZnCr–LDH nanosheets play an important role in the hierarchical morphology and photocatalytic activity of the as‐prepared samples. In the water‐splitting process, the visible‐light‐driven H2‐production rate of hierarchical flower‐like CdZnS@LDH is 4.03 times and nearly 10 times higher than that of pristine CdZnS microsphere and pure commercial CdS, respectively. Therefore, this work not only achieves enhanced catalytic performance of the CdZnS by the introduction of ZnCr–LDH nanosheets, but also supplies an insight into the relationship between the hierarchical morphology and the semiconductor photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Pure and palladium‐loaded Co3O4 hollow hierarchical nanostructures consisting of nanosheets have been prepared by solvothermal self‐assembly. The nanostructures exhibited an ultrahigh response and selectivity towards p‐xylene and toluene. The responses (resistance ratio) of the palladium‐loaded Co3O4 hollow hierarchical nanostructures to 5 ppm of p‐xylene and toluene were as high as 361 and 305, respectively, whereas the selectivity values (response ratios) towards p‐xylene and toluene over interference from ethanol were 18.1 and 16.1, respectively. We attributed the giant response and unprecedented high selectivity towards methylbenzenes to the abundant adsorption of oxygen by Co3O4, the high chemiresistive variation in the Co3O4 nanosheets (thickness≈11 nm), and the catalytic promotion of the specific gas‐sensing reaction. The morphological design of the p‐type Co3O4 nanostructures and loading of the palladium catalyst have paved a new way to monitoring the most representative indoor air pollutants in a highly selective, sensitive, and reliable manner.  相似文献

Monolayer HNb3O8 2D nanosheets have been used as highly chemoselective and active photocatalysts for the selective oxidation of alcohols. The nanosheets exhibit improved photocatalytic activity over their layered counterparts. Results of in situ FTIR, DRS, ESR, and DFT calculations show the formation of surface complexes between the Lewis acid sites on HNb3O8 2D nanosheets and alcohols. These complexes play a key role in the photocatalytic activity of the material. Furthermore, the unique structural features of the nanosheets contributed to their high photocatalytic activity. An electron transition from the coordinated alcohol species to surface Nb atoms takes place and initiates the aerobic oxidation of alcohols with high product selectivity under visible light irradiation. This reaction process is distinct from that of classic semiconductor photocatalysis.  相似文献

Nanorattles, comprised of a nanosphere inside a nanoshell, were employed as the next generation of plasmonic catalysts for oxidations promoted by activated O2. After investigating how the presence of a nanosphere inside a nanoshell affected the electric‐field enhancements in the nanorattle relative to a nanoshell and a nanosphere, the SPR‐mediated oxidation of p‐aminothiophenol (PATP) functionalized at their surface was investigated to benchmark how these different electric‐field intensities affected the performances of Au@AgAu nanorattles, AgAu nanoshells and Au nanoparticles having similar sizes. The high performance of the nanorattles enabled the visible‐light driven synthesis of azobenzene from aniline under ambient conditions. As the nanorattles allow the formation of electromagnetic hot spots without relying on the uncontrolled aggregation of nanostructures, it enables their application as catalysts in liquid phase under mild conditions using visible light as the main energy input.  相似文献

TiO2 nanoparticles are of great current interest for applications in photo‐electronic materials including light‐energy conversion, artificial photosynthetic systems as well as photocatalysis. The success of these applications relies on the exciton recombination dynamics and visible‐light sensitivity of the TiO2 nanomaterials. Thus, in order to develop the highly efficient photo‐electronic materials absorbing visible light, different low dimensional TiO2 nanostructures such as nanodiscs, nanofibers and nanochains were synthesized, and thereafter their surfaces were modified by incorporating with Sn‐porphyrins and heteropoly acid. The optoelectronic properties of the surface‐modified nanomaterials were investigated with regard to the optical properties and the surface exciton dynamics by using both steady‐state and ultrafast time‐resolved laser spectroscopic techniques including single nanoparticle photoluminescence technique. These results were correlated with the photo‐electronic properties including photocatalytic activities and solar cell efficiencies, indicating that the electron transfer mechanism in the modified nanostructures may be similar to the “Z‐scheme” of the plant photosynthetic system so that both photocatalytic activity and solar cell efficiencies were synergistically enhanced by using two color illumination.  相似文献

Solar-to-fuel conversion through photocatalytic processes is regarded as promising technology with the potential to reduce reliance on dwindling reserves of fossil fuels and to support the sustainable development of our society. However, conventional semiconductor-based photocatalytic systems suffer from unsatisfactory reaction efficiencies due to limited light harvesting abilities. Recent pioneering work from several groups, including ours, has demonstrated that visible and infrared light can be utilized by plasmonic catalysts not only to induce local heating but also to generate energetic hot carriers for initiating surface catalytic reactions and/or modulating the reaction pathways, resulting in synergistically promoted solar-to-fuel conversion efficiencies. In this perspective, we focus primarily on plasmon-mediated catalysis for thermodynamically uphill reactions converting CO2 and/or H2O into value-added products. We first introduce two types of mechanism and their applications by which reactions on plasmonic nanostructures can be initiated: either by photo-induced hot carriers (plasmonic photocatalysis) or by light-excited phonons (photothermal catalysis). Then, we emphasize examples where the hot carriers and phonon modes act in concert to contribute to the reaction (plasmonic photothermal catalysis), with special attention given to the design concepts and reaction mechanisms of the catalysts. We discuss challenges and future opportunities relating to plasmonic photothermal processes, aiming to promote an understanding of underlying mechanisms and provide guidelines for the rational design and construction of plasmonic catalysts for highly efficient solar-to-fuel conversion.

Hot carrier activation and photothermal heat can be constructively coupled using plasmonic photothermal catalysts for synergistically promoted solar-to-fuel conversion efficiency.  相似文献

Great efforts in developing clean electrochemical water splitting technology leads to the rational design and synthesis of highly efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts with low overpotential and fast reaction kinetics. Herein, we focus on the role that morphology and composition play in the OER performance to rationally design freestanding 3D porous NiCo2O4 nanosheets with metal valence states alteration and abundant oxygen vacancies as robust electrocatalysts towards water splitting. Besides metal valence‐state alteration, surface modification regarding the evolution of oxygen vacancies is facilely realized upon the sodium borohydride treatment, which is beneficial for the enhanced OER performance. Taking advantage of the porous nanostructures and abundant surface activity sites with high reactivity, the resultant nanostructures exhibit excellent OER activity and stability in alkaline electrolytes that outperform that of pristine NiCo2O4 and commercial RuO2, thus holding great potential for the water splitting.  相似文献

The facile electron–hole pair recombination in earth‐abundant transition‐metal oxides is a major limitation for the development of highly efficient hydrogen evolution photocatalysts. In this work, the thickness of a layered β‐CoOOH semiconductor that contains metal/hydroxy groups was reduced to obtain an atomically thin, two‐dimensional nanostructure. Analysis by ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy revealed that electron–hole recombination is almost suppressed in the as‐prepared 1.3 nm thick β‐CoOOH nanosheet, which leads to prominent electron–hole separation efficiencies of 60–90 % upon irradiation at 350–450 nm, which are ten times higher than those of the bulk counterpart. X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and first‐principles calculations demonstrate that [HO?CoO6?x] species on the nanosheet surface promote H+ adsorption and H2 desorption. An aqueous suspension of the β‐CoOOH nanosheets exhibited a high hydrogen production rate of 160 μmol g?1 h?1 even when the system was operated for hundreds of hours.  相似文献

A highly active hierarchical MoS2/ZnIn2S4 composite catalyst was synthesized in situ by using a facile controlled‐growth approach through a solvothermal process. During the solvothermal reaction, 2D ultrathin curled ZnIn2S4 nanosheets grew on the surface of MoS2 slices, which could help to form a more‐homogeneous mixture, effective interfacial contact, and strong interactions between the ZnIn2S4 nanosheets and the MoS2 slices. The intimate contact between ZnIn2S4 and MoS2 favored the formation of junctions between the two components, thereby improving the charge separation and prolonging the mean lifetime of the electron–hole pairs. Moreover, growing ZnIn2S4 nanosheets by visible‐light catalysis on MoS2 slices afforded a higher number of available catalytically active sites. So, the photocatalytic hydrogen‐evolution performance of the hierarchical MoS2/ZnIn2S4 composite was significantly enhanced, owing to a synergistic effect of these factors. This work could provide new insights into the fabrication of a highly efficient and low‐cost non‐noble‐metal co‐catalyst for visible‐light H2 generation.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) semiconductors have recently emerged as a remarkable class of plasmonic alternative to conventional noble metals. However, tuning of their plasmonic resonances towards different wavelengths in the visible‐light region with physical or chemical methods still remains challenging. In this work, we design a simple room‐temperature chemical reaction route to synthesize amorphous molybdenum oxide (MoO3−x ) nanodots that exhibit strong localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPR) in the visible and near‐infrared region. Moreover, tunable plasmon resonances can be achieved in a wide range with the changing surrounding solvent, and accordingly the photoelectrocatalytic activity can be optimized with the varying LSPR peaks. This work boosts the light–matter interaction at the nanoscale and could enable photodetectors, sensors, and photovoltaic devices in the future.  相似文献

Efficient hydrogen evolution via electrocatalytic water splitting holds great promise in modern energy devices. Herein, we demonstrate that the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) excitation of Au nanorods (NRs) dramatically improves the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity of CoFe‐metal–organic framework nanosheets (CoFe‐MOFNs), leading to a more than 4‐fold increase of current density at ?0.236 V (vs. RHE) for Au/CoFe‐MOFNs composite under light irradiation versus in dark. Mechanistic investigations reveal that the hydrogen evolution enhancement can be largely attributed to the injection of hot electrons from AuNRs to CoFe‐MOFNs, raising the Fermi level of CoFe‐MOFNs, facilitating the reduction of H2O and affording decreased activation energy for HER. This study highlights the superiority of plasmonic excitation on improving electrocatalytic efficiency of MOFs and provides a novel avenue towards the design of highly efficient water‐splitting systems under light irradiation.  相似文献

A universal methodology to efficiently improve the photocatalyst performance of semiconductors was developed by employing exfoliated RuO2 two‐dimensional nanosheets as a conducting hybridization matrix. The hybridization with a RuO2 nanosheet is easily achieved by crystal growth or electrostatically derived anchoring of semiconductor nanocrystals on the RuO2 nanosheet. An enhanced chemical interaction of inorganic semiconductor with hydrophilic RuO2 nanosheet is fairly effective in optimizing their photocatalytic activity and photostability by the enhancement of charge separation and charge mobility. The RuO2‐containing nanohybrids show much better photocatalyst functionalities than do the graphene‐containing ones. The present study clearly demonstrates that hydrophilic RuO2 nanosheets are superior hybridization matrices, over the widely used hydrophobic graphene nanosheets, for exploring new efficient hybrid‐type photocatalysts.  相似文献
