The nature of the processes at the origin of life that selected specific classes of molecules for broad incorporation into cells is controversial. Among those classes selected were polyisoprenoids and their derivatives. This paper tests the hypothesis that polyisoprenoids were early contributors to membranes in part because they (or their derivatives) could facilitate charge transport by quantum tunneling. It measures charge transport across self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) of carboxyl‐terminated monoterpenoids (O2C(C9HX)) and alkanoates (O2C(C7HX)) with different degrees of unsaturation, supported on silver (AgTS) bottom electrodes, with Ga2O3/EGaIn top electrodes. Measurements of current density of SAMs of linear length‐matched hydrocarbons—both saturated and unsaturated—show that completely unsaturated molecules transport charge faster than those that are completely saturated by approximately a factor of ten. This increase in relative rates of charge transport correlates with the number of carbon–carbon double bonds, but not with the extent of conjugation. These results suggest that polyisoprenoids—even fully unsaturated—are not sufficiently good tunneling conductors for their conductivity to have favored them as building blocks in the prebiotic world.  相似文献

This work examines charge transport (CT) through self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) of oligoglycines having an N‐terminal cysteine group that anchors the molecule to a gold substrate, and demonstrate that CT is rapid (relative to SAMs of n‐alkanethiolates). Comparisons of rates of charge transport‐using junctions with the structure AuTS/SAM//Ga2O3/EGaIn (across these SAMs of oligoglycines, and across SAMs of a number of structurally and electronically related molecules) established that rates of charge tunneling along SAMs of oligoglycines are comparable to that along SAMs of oligophenyl groups (of comparable length). The mechanism of tunneling in oligoglycines is compatible with superexchange, and involves interactions among high‐energy occupied orbitals in multiple, consecutive amide bonds, which may by separated by one to three methylene groups. This mechanistic conclusion is supported by density functional theory (DFT).  相似文献

A series of silver(I) supramolecular complexes, namely, {[Ag(L24)](NO3)}n ( 1 ), [Ag2(L24)(NO2)2]n ( 2 ), and {[Ag1.25(L24)(DMF)](PF6)1.25}n ( 3 ) were prepared by the reactions of 1‐(2‐pyridyl)‐2‐(4‐pyridyl)‐1,2,4‐triazole (L24) and silver(I) salts with different anions (AgNO3, AgNO2, AgPF6). Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction indicates that 1 – 3 display diverse supramolecular networks. The structure of dinuclear complex 1 is composed of a six‐membered Ag2N4 ring with the Ag ··· Ag distance of 4.4137(3) Å. In complex 2 , the adjacent AgI centers are interlinked by L24 ligands into a 1D chain, the adjacent of which are further extended by the bridged nitrites to construct a 2D coordination architecture. Complex 3 shows a 3D (3,4)‐connected framework, which is generated by the linkage of L24 ligands. All complexes were characterized by IR spectra, elemental analysis, and powder X‐ray diffraction. Notably, a structural comparison of the complexes demonstrates that their structures are predominated by the nature of anions. Additionally, 1 and 2 show efficient dichromate (Cr2O72–) capture in water system, which can be ascribed to the anion‐exchange.  相似文献

Yellow needle‐shaped crystals of the title compound, {[Ag(C30H22N4)][Ag(NO3)2]}n, were obtained by the reaction of AgNO3 and 9,10‐bis(benzimidazol‐1‐ylmethyl)anthracene (L) in a 2:1 ratio. The asymmetric unit consists of two AgI cations, one half L ligand and one nitrate anion. One AgI cation occupies a crystallographic inversion centre and links two N‐atom donors of two distinct L ligands to form an infinite one‐dimensional coordination polymer. The second AgI cation lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is coordinated by two O‐atom donors of two nitrate anions to form an [Ag(NO3)2] counter‐ion. The polymeric chains are linked into a supramolecular framework via weak Ag...O [3.124 (5) Å] and Ag...π (2.982 Å) interactions (π is the centroid of an outer anthracene benzene ring). The π interactions contain two short Ag...C contacts [2.727 (6) and 2.765 (6) Å], which can be considered to define Ag–η2‐anthracene bonding interactions. In comparison with a previously reported binuclear AgI complex [Du, Hu, Zhang, Zeng & Bu (2008). CrystEngComm, 10 , 1866–1874], this new one‐dimensional coordination polymer was obtained by changing the metal–ligand ratio during the synthesis.  相似文献

In trans‐bis(5‐n‐butylpyridine‐2‐carboxylato‐κ2N,O)bis(methanol‐κO)copper(II), [Cu(C10H12NO2)2(CH4O)2], the Cu atom lies on a centre of symmetry and has a distorted octahedral coordination. The Cu—O(methanol) bond length in the axial direction is 2.596 (3) Å, which is much longer than the Cu—O(carboxylate) and Cu—N distances in the equatorial plane [1.952 (2) and 1.977 (2) Å, respectively]. In mer‐tris(5‐n‐butylpyridine‐2‐carboxylato‐κ2N,O)iron(III), [Fe(C10H12NO2)3], the Fe atom also has a distorted octahedral geometry, with Fe—O and Fe—N bond‐length ranges of 1.949 (4)–1.970 (4) and 2.116 (5)–2.161 (5) Å, respectively. Both crystals are stabilized by stacking interactions of the 5‐n‐butylpyridine‐2‐carboxylate ligand, although hydrogen bonds also contribute to the stabilization of the copper(II) complex.  相似文献

In catena‐poly[[(di‐2‐pyridylamine‐κ2N,N′)silver(I)]‐μ‐nicotinato‐κ2N:O], [Ag(C6H4NO2)(C10H9N3)]n, the AgI atom is tetracoordinated by two N atoms from the di‐2‐pyridylamine (BPA) ligand [Ag—N = 2.3785 (18) and 2.3298 (18) Å] and by one N atom and one carboxylate O atom from nicotinate ligands [Ag—N = 2.2827 (15) Å and Ag—O = 2.3636 (14) Å]. Bridging by nicotinate N and O atoms generates a polymeric chain structure, which extends along [100]. The carboxyl O atom not bonded to the Ag atom takes part in an intrachain C—H⋯O hydrogen bond, further stabilizing the chain. Pairs of chains are linked by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate ribbons. There are no π–π interactions in this complex. In catena‐poly[[(di‐2‐pyridylamine‐κ2N,N′)silver(I)]‐μ‐2,6‐dihydroxybenzoato‐κ2O1:O2], [Ag(C7H5O4)(C10H9N3)]n, the AgI atom has a distorted tetrahedral coordination, with three strong bonds to two pyridine N atoms from the BPA ligand [Ag—N = 2.286 (5) and 2.320 (5) Å] and to one carboxylate O atom from the 2,6‐dihydroxybenzoate ligand [Ag—O = 2.222 (4) Å]; the fourth, weaker, Ag‐atom coordination is to one of the phenol O atoms [Ag⋯O = 2.703 (4) Å] of an adjacent moiety, and this interaction generates a polymeric chain along [100]. Pairs of chains are linked about inversion centers by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds to form ribbons, within which there are π–π interactions. The ribbons are linked about inversion centers by pairs of C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and additional π–π interactions between inversion‐related pairs of 2,6‐dihydroxybenzoate ligands to generate a three‐dimensional network.  相似文献

In the title complex, [Ag(NO3)(C6H7N3O)]n or [Ag(NO3)(pyaoxH2)] (pyaoxH2 is N‐hydroxypyridine‐2‐carboxamidine), the Ag+ ion is bridged by the pyaoxH2 ligands and nitrate anions, giving rise to a two‐dimensional molecular structure. Each pyaoxH2 ligand coordinates to two Ag+ ions using its pyridyl and carboxamidine N atoms, and the OH and the NH2 groups are uncoordinated. Each nitrate anion uses two O atoms to coordinate to two Ag+ ions. The Ag...Ag separation via the pyaoxH2 bridge is 2.869 (1) Å, markedly shorter than that of 6.452 (1) Åvia the nitrate bridge. The two‐dimensional structure is fishscale‐like, and can be described as pyaoxH2‐bridged Ag2 nodes that are further linked by nitrate anions. Hydrogen bonding between the amidine groups and the nitrate O atoms connects adjacent layers into a three‐dimensional network.  相似文献

Poly[[μ4‐4,4′‐bipyridazine‐μ5‐sulfato‐disilver(I)] monohydrate], {[Ag2(SO4)(C8H6N4)]·H2O}n, (I), and poly[[aqua‐μ4‐pyridazino[4,5‐d]pyridazine‐μ3‐sulfato‐disilver(I)] monohydrate], {[Ag2(SO4)(C6H4N4)(H2O)]·H2O}n, (II), possess three‐ and two‐dimensional polymeric structures, respectively, supported by N‐tetradentate coordination of the organic ligands [Ag—N = 2.208 (3)–2.384 (3) Å] and O‐pentadentate coordination of the sulfate anions [Ag—O = 2.284 (3)–2.700 (2) Å]. Compound (I) is the first structurally examined complex of the new ligand 4,4′‐bipyridazine; it is based upon unprecedented centrosymmetric silver–pyridazine tetramers with tetrahedral AgN2O2 and trigonal–bipyramidal AgN2O3 coordination of two independent AgI ions. Compound (II) adopts a typical dimeric silver–pyridazine motif incorporating two kinds of square‐pyramidal AgN2O3 AgI ions. The structure exhibits short anion–π interactions involving noncoordinated sulfate O atoms [O...π = 3.041 (3) Å].  相似文献

We report the time‐resolved supramolecular assembly of a series of nanoscale polyoxometalate clusters (from the same one‐pot reaction) of the form: [H(10+m)Ag18Cl(Te3W38O134)2]n, where n=1 and m=0 for compound 1 (after 4 days), n=2 and m=3 for compound 2 (after 10 days), and n=∞ and m=5 for compound 3 (after 14 days). The reaction is based upon the self‐organization of two {Te3W38} units around a single chloride template and the formation of a {Ag12} cluster, giving a {Ag12}‐in‐{W76} cluster‐in‐cluster in compound 1 , which further aggregates to cluster compounds 2 and 3 by supramolecular Ag‐POM interactions. The proposed mechanism for the formation of the clusters has been studied by ESI‐MS. Further, control experiments demonstrate the crucial role that TeO32?, Cl?, and Ag+ play in the self‐assembly of compounds 1 – 3 .  相似文献

The title compound, {[Co(C8H7NO2)2(H2O)2](NO3)2}n, is the first d‐metal ion complex involving bidentate bridging of a β‐dialdehyde group. The Co2+ ion is situated on an inversion centre and adopts an octahedral coordination with four equatorial aldehyde O atoms [Co—O = 2.0910 (14) and 2.1083 (14) Å] and two axial aqua ligands [Co—O = 2.0631 (13) Å]. The title compound has a two‐dimensional square‐grid framework structure supported by propane‐1,3‐dionate O:O′‐bridges between the metal ions. The organic ligand itself possesses a zwitterionic structure, involving conjugated anionic propane‐1,3‐dionate and cationic pyridinium fragments. Hydrogen bonding between coordinated water molecules, the pyridinium NH group and the nitrate anions [O...O = 2.749 (2) and 2.766 (3) Å, and N...O = 2.864 (3) Å] is essential for the crystal packing.  相似文献

In the title compound {alternative name: poly[silver(I)‐μ‐(3‐amino‐2‐chloropyridine)‐μ‐nitrato]}, [Ag(NO3)(C5H5ClN2)]n the AgI atom is in an irregular AgN2O3 geometry, surrounded by one pyridyl N atom [Ag—N 2.283 (5) Å], one amine N atom [Ag—N 2.364 (6) Å] and three O atoms from different nitrate ions [Ag—O 2.510 (6)–2.707 (6) Å]. The Ag ions are bridged by the 3‐amino‐2‐chloropyridine ligands into helical chains. Adjacent uniform chiral chains are further interlinked through the NO3 bridges into an interesting two‐dimensional coordination network in the solid.  相似文献

2‐(2‐Aminoethyl)pyridine (2‐aep, C7H10N2) acts as a bridging ligand in bis[μ‐2‐(2‐aminoethyl)pyridine‐κ2N:N′]disilver(I) dinitrate, [Ag2(2‐aep)2](NO3)2, and bis[μ‐2‐(2‐aminoethyl)pyridine‐κ2N:N′]disilver(I) diperchlorate, [Ag2(2‐aep)2](ClO4)2. Both salts contain the dinuclear [Ag2(2‐aep)2]2+ cation, which possesses a crystallographic inversion center. The Ag⋯Ag distance is 3.1163 (5) Å for the nitrate and 3.0923 (3) Å for the perchlorate salt, and may indicate a weak d10d10 interaction in each case. Essentially linear coordination of the AgI atom is perturbed by weak coordination to the anionic O atoms. These latter interactions organize the dinuclear cations into one‐dimensional polymeric chains in the crystals of the two salts.  相似文献

The title complex, [Ag4(C7H5O3)2(C8H6N2)4(C7H6O3)4], lies about an inversion centre and has a unique tetranuclear structure consisting of four AgI atoms bridged by four N atoms from two 1,8‐naphthyridine (napy) ligands to form an N:N′‐bridge and four O atoms from two salicylate (SA) ligands to form an O:O′‐bridge. The Ag atoms have distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The centrosymmetric Ag4 ring has Ag—Ag separations of 2.772 (2) and 3.127 (2) Å, and Ag—Ag—Ag angles of 107.70 (4) and 72.30 (4)°. All SA hydroxy groups take part in intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding. In the crystal packing, the napy rings are oriented parallel and overlap one another. These π–π interactions, together with weak intermolecular C—H⋯O contacts, stabilize the crystal structure.  相似文献

The title compound, [Ag(C15H11N4O2S)]n, was synthesized by the reaction of 4‐{[(1‐phenyl‐1H‐tetrazol‐5‐yl)sulfanyl]methyl}benzoic acid (Hptmba) with silver nitrate and triethylamine at room temperature. The asymmetric unit contains one crystallographically independent AgI cation and one ptmba ligand. Each AgI cation is tricoordinated by two carboxylate O atoms and one tetrazole N atom from three different ptmba ligands, displaying a distorted T‐shaped geometry. Three AgI cations are linked by tris‐monodentate bridging ptmba ligands to form a one‐dimensional double chain along the c axis, which is further consolidated by an intrachain π–π contact with an offset face‐to‐face distance of 4.176 (3) Å between the centroids of two adjacent aromatic rings in neighbouring benzoate groups. The one‐dimensional chains are linked into a three‐dimensional supramolecular framework by additional π–π interchain interactions, viz. of 3.753 (3) Å between two phenyl substituents of the tetrazole rings and of 4.326 (2) Å between a benzoate ring and a tetrazole ring. Thermogravimetric analysis and the fluorescence spectrum of the title compound reveal its good thermal stability and a strong green luminescence at room temperature.  相似文献

In poly[[bis(μ‐4,4′‐bi‐1H‐pyrazole‐κ2N2:N2′)bis(3‐carboxyadamantane‐1‐carboxylato‐κO1)cobalt(II)] dihydrate], {[Co(C12H15O4)2(C6H6N4)2]·2H2O}n, (I), the Co2+ cation lies on an inversion centre and the 4,4′‐bipyrazole (4,4′‐bpz) ligands are also situated across centres of inversion. In its non‐isomorphous cadmium analogue, {[Cd(C12H15O4)2(C6H6N4)2]·2H2O}n, (II), the Cd2+ cation lies on a twofold axis. In both compounds, the metal cations adopt an octahedral coordination, with four pyrazole N atoms in the equatorial plane [Co—N = 2.156 (2) and 2.162 (2) Å; Cd—N = 2.298 (2) and 2.321 (2) Å] and two axial carboxylate O atoms [Co—O = 2.1547 (18) Å and Cd—O = 2.347 (2) Å]. In both structures, interligand hydrogen bonding [N...O = 2.682 (3)–2.819 (3) Å] is essential for stabilization of the MN4O2 environment with its unusually high (for bulky adamantanecarboxylates) number of coordinated N‐donor co‐ligands. The compounds adopt two‐dimensional coordination connectivities and exist as square‐grid [M(4,4′‐bpz)2]n networks accommodating monodentate carboxylate ligands. The interlayer linkage is provided by hydrogen bonds from the carboxylic acid groups via the solvent water molecules [O...O = 2.565 (3) and 2.616 (3) Å] to the carboxylate groups in the next layer [O...O = 2.717 (3)–2.841 (3) Å], thereby extending the structures in the third dimension.  相似文献

The title compound, {[Ag2(C10H14N4)2](ClO4)2}n, is a one‐dimensional coordination polymer formed by AgI atoms linearly bridged by 1,1′‐(butane‐1,4‐diyl)diimidazole molecules. The chains have a helical arrangement and pairs of chains are held together by the rarely reported ligand‐unsupported Ag—Ag interaction [2.966 (1) Å], which results in a double‐helix structure. The double helix contains twisted 24‐membered metallomacrocycles, which are composed of four Ag atoms and two ligands. The Ag atoms lie on twofold axes.  相似文献

Complex formation of 2, 6‐bis(2′‐hydroxyphenyl)pyridine (H2Li) with Fe3+ and Cu2+ was investigated in a H2O/DMSO medium (mole fraction xDMSO = 0.2) by potentiometric and spectrophotometric methods. The pKa values of [H3Li]+ are 2.25, 10.51 and 14.0 (25 °C, 0.1 M KCl). The formation constants of [FeIII(Li)]+ and [CuII(Li)] (25 °C, 0.1 M KCl) are log β1 = 21.5 for Fe3+ and log β1 = 18.5 for Cu2+. The crystal structures of [Al(Li)2Na(EtOH)3], [Fe(Li)2Na(EtOH)3], and [Cu(Li)(py)]2 were investigated by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analyses. The FeIII and the AlIII compound are isotypic and crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/n. Al‐compound (215 K): a = 12.599(3) Å, b = 16.653(3) Å, c = 17.525(4) Å, β = 100.27(3)°, Z = 4 for C40H40AlN2NaO7; Fe‐compound (293 K): a = 12.753(3) Å, b = 16.715(3) Å, c = 17.493(3) Å, β = 99.68(3)°, Z = 4 for C40H40FeN2NaO7. Both compounds contain a homoleptic, anionic bis‐complex [M(Li)2] of approximate D2 symmetry. The Cu compound crystallized as an uncharged, dinuclear and centrosymmetric [Cu(Li)(py)]2 complex in the monoclinic space group P21/n with (293 K) a = 13.386(3) Å, b = 9.368(2) Å, c = 14.656(3) Å, β = 100.65(3)°, Z = 2 for C44H32Cu2N4O4. The structural properties and in particular the possible influence of the ligand geometry on the stability of the metal complexes is discussed.  相似文献

Chemical preparation, crystal structure, thermal analysis, IR absorption, and NMR studies are given for a new organic cyclohexaphosphate, the hexakis(2,4‐dimethylanilinium) cyclohexaphosphate hexahydrate ((2,4‐Me2C6H3NH3)6P6O18?6 H2O). This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n, with cell parameters a=10.914(4) Å, b=11.198(3) Å, c=25.670(2) Å, β=95.05(4)°, Z=2, and V=3124(2) Å3. Its crystal structure is determined and refined to a final R=0.054 for 4627 independent reflections. The atomic arrangement can be described as a layer organization built by P6O18‐ring anions and H2O molecules. Between these layers are located the organic groups that form H‐bonds with O‐atoms of the P6O18 rings and H2O molecules. Determination of the geometric characteristics of the H‐bonds show the existence in this structure of four particularly strong H‐bonding contacts (1.75, 1.76, 1.78, and 1.87 Å).  相似文献

Contributions on Crystal Chemistry and Thermal Behaviour of Anhydrous Phosphates. XXXIII [1] In2P2O7 an Indium(I)‐diphosphatoindate(III), and In4(P2O7)3 — Synthesis, Crystallization, and Crystal Structure Solid state reactions via the gas phase lead to the new mixed‐valence indium(I, III)‐diphosphate In2P2O7. Colourless single crystals of In2P2O7 have been grown by isothermal heating of stoichiometric amounts of InPO4 and InP (800 °C; 7d) using iodine as mineralizer. The structure of In2P2O7 [P21/c, a = 7.550(1) Å, b = 10.412(1) Å, c = 8.461(2) Å, b = 105.82(1)°, 2813 independent reflections, 101 parameter, R1 = 0.031, wR2 = 0.078] is the first example for an In+ cation in pure oxygen coordination. Observed distances d(InI‐O) are exceptionally long (dmin(InI‐O) = 2.82 Å) and support assumption of mainly s‐character for the lone‐pair at the In+ ion. Single crystals of In4(P2O7)3 were grown by chemical vapour transport experiments in a temperature gradient (1000 → 900 °C) using P/I mixtures as transport agent. In contrast to the isostructural diphosphates M4(P2O7)3 (M = V, Cr, Fe) monoclinic instead of orthorhombic symmetry has been found for In4(P2O7)3 [P21/a, a = 13.248(3) Å, b = 9.758(1) Å, c = 13.442(2) Å, b = 108.94(1)°, 7221 independent reflexes, 281 parameter, R1 = 0.027, wR2 = 0.067].  相似文献
