Spontaneous phase transitions in ferrite garnet films have been studied. It has been shown that, with variations in the temperature, domain walls undergo phase transitions which cause spontaneous phase transitions in the lattice of cylindrical magnetic domains. The phase transition in a domain wall causes a spin-reorientation phase transition over the whole sample near the magnetic compensation point. The character of the phase transition in the domain wall determines the mechanism of the spin-reorientation phase transition.  相似文献

Stable spiral domain structures—spiral domains stabilized by a bubble lattice and lattices of spiral domains—in epitaxial ferrite-garnet films have been experimentally investigated. The thermodynamic approach based on the concept of magnetostatic pressure is applied to explain the behavior of a spiral domain structure with a change in temperature or magnetic field. It is shown that phase transitions in spiral domains are related to phase transitions in the bubble lattice.  相似文献

Interfaces between the three physically distinct, but equivalent domains in the (3 × 1) phase of a lattice gas model for the adsorbate system H/Fe(110) and its Ising analog are studied. In the ground state two types of wetting transitions are found where a light or a heavy domain wall decomposes into two heavy or two light walls separated by the third domain. These transitions give rise to wetting lines in the phase diagram which are located using Monte Carlo techniques.  相似文献

The melting of an ultrathin lubricant film at friction between atomically smooth surfaces is studied with allowance for fluctuations of its temperature, which are described by the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. The behavior of the most probable types of shear stresses arising in the lubricant is considered, and phase diagrams for second-and first-order phase transformations (the melting of an amorphous lubricant and that of a crystalline lubricant, respectively) are constructed. It is shown that, in the former case, lubricant temperature fluctuations lead to the formation of a stick-slip friction domain separating the domains of dry and sliding friction, which is typical of first-order transitions. In the latter case, three domains of stick-slip friction arise, which mark the transitions between dry friction and metastable and stable sliding friction. As the time of correlation of lubricant temperature fluctuations gets longer, the temperature of rubbing surfaces rises to the point where sliding friction sets in.  相似文献

Two-dimensional square and hexagonal lattices of magnetic dipoles with the number of rows 1–4 have been studied. Based on the numerical analysis, equilibrium stable domain configurations, including the minimum number of lattice dipoles, have been revealed; the conditions for the creation and destruction of domains have been determined; and their associated changes in the magnetic moment of the lattice and in the energy of the dipole interaction have been found. The conditions for the occurrence of phase transitions that change the configuration of the lattices have been investigated and the conditions for unidirectional propagation of the front of the phase transition have been established. A comparative analysis of different square and hexagonal lattices has been performed in terms of the specific features of the formed domains and the observed orientation phase transitions.  相似文献

The structure of one-dimensional systems with a half-filled band is discussed. In addition to lattice coordinates several intramonomer coordinates are considered. It is found that the system distorts and dimerizes (Peierls distortion). The distortions can be caused by lattice coordinates, by intramonomer coordinates or by both types of coordinates simultaneously. Thereby the various intramonomer degrees of freedom act cooperatively. The interplay between the intramonomer and lattice coordinates may induce new types of phase transitions with critical temperatures below the usual Peierls transition. Depending on the values of the effective matrix elements up to two of these new transitions may occur for a given system. The impact of these additional phase transitions on the specific heat, energy gap and lattice structure is discussed.  相似文献

Phase transitions in hexagonal lattices with three and four rows of dipoles arising as a result of the reorientation of different sets of dipoles by the external field have been studied. The conditions of the implementation of two types of symmetric phase transitions and the asymmetric transitions, when the configurations of the system to the left and to the right of the excitation region are different, have been established. Merging of two regions of the phase transitions has been considered. Unidirectional phase transitions, in which either the left or the right phase transition front propagates from the excitation region along the lattice, have been obtained in a lattice with four rows of dipoles. The variations of the total dipole moment of the system and the energy of the dipole-dipole interaction during the phase transitions have been given.  相似文献

AbstractThe phase states and phase transitions in a system consisting of a two-dimensional vortex lattice with defects are studied by the Monte Carlo method. It is shown that a “rotating lattice” phase, which is an intermediate phase between the vortex crystal and vortex liquid phases, is present. The dependence of the temperature of the transition from the rotating lattice phase into a vortex liquid on the strength of the defect potential is determined. The current-voltage characteristics of the system are calculated at various temperatures for point, square, and linear defects. It is shown that the phase state of the system strongly affects its transport properties.  相似文献

It is commonly accepted that strongly interacting matter has several phase transitions in different domains of temperature and baryon density. In this contribution I discuss two most popular phase transitions which, in principle, can be accessed in nuclear collisions. One of them, the liquid-gas phase transition, is well established theoretically and studied experimentally in nuclear multifragmentation reactions at intermediate energies. The other one, the deconfinement-hadronization phase transition, is at the focus of present and future experimental studies with relativistic heavy-ion beams at SPS, RHIC and LHC. Possible links between these two phase transitions are identified from the viewpoint of their manifestation in violent nuclear collisions.  相似文献

用时域和频域方法研究了(Ba1-xSrx)TiO3陶瓷的极性相变.类似于单晶的铁电相变所观察到的晶格软化,屏蔽电荷激发和畴运动讯号外,在陶瓷中还出现空间电荷运动的强讯号.空间电荷和电畴属于凝聚态物质的高级结构,它提供慢极化效应.慢效应使频域测量结果不能得到确定值.从统计观点给出高级结构的历史记忆效应对频域测量结果的影响;解释了频域介电常量的倒数在一级结构的转变中发生线性软化,而在高级结构的转变中发生抛物型软化. 关键词:  相似文献

The phase transitions in the two-dimensional Ising model on a square lattice are studied using a replica algorithm, the Monte Carlo method, and histogram analysis with allowance for the next-nearest-neighbor interactions in the range 0.1 ≤ r < 1.0. A phase diagram is constructed for the dependence of the critical temperature on the next-nearest-neighbor interaction. Phase transitions in the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model on a cubic lattice with intralayer next-nearest neighbor interactions are studied using the replica Monte Carlo algorithm. The magnitude of next-nearest neighbor interactions varies in the range of 0.0 ≤ r ≤ 1.0. The characteristics of the phase transitions are analyzed by the histogram and Binder cumulant techniques. The phase diagram relating the transition temperature and the magnitude of next-nearest neighbor interactions is constructed. It is shown that a second order phase transition occurs in the r range under study. In this model, it is found that the intralayer next-nearest neighbor interactions do not change the order of the phase transition.

A certain two-dimensional lattice model with nearest and next-nearest neighbor interactions is known to have a limit-periodic ground state. We show that during a slow quench from the high temperature, disordered phase, the ground state emerges through an infinite sequence of phase transitions. We define appropriate order parameters and show that the transitions are related by renormalizations of the temperature scale. As the temperature is decreased, sublattices with increasingly large lattice constants become ordered. A rapid quench results in a glasslike state due to kinetic barriers created by simultaneous freezing on sublattices with different lattice constants.  相似文献

Magnetic phase transitions in coupled magnetic sandwiches of Cu/Co/Cu/Ni/Cu(100) and Cu/Co/Fe/Ni/Cu(100) are investigated by photoemission electron microscopy. Element-specific magnetic domains are taken at room temperature to reveal the critical thickness at which the magnetic phase transition occurs. The results show that a coupled magnetic sandwich undergoes three types of magnetic phase transitions depending on the two ferromagnetic films' thickness. A phase diagram is constructed and explained in the process of constructing Monte Carlo simulations, which corroborate the experimental results.  相似文献

The behavior of the lattice parameter of single-crystal SmS with temperature was studied by x-ray diffractometry in the range 100–700 K. The observed features are assigned to a temperature-induced variation in the filling of the Sm2+f-shell ground-state multiplet levels. The temperature dependence of the thermal expansion coefficient of SmS was measured. It is shown that the lattice constant behavior in samples that exhibit a pronounced emf generation effect under heating is influenced by the transition of defect samarium ions from the divalent to trivalent state and that the effect itself derives from phase transitions in SmS.  相似文献

Double-well optical lattice in an insulating state is considered. The influence of atomic vibrations and mesoscopic disorder on the properties of the lattice are studied. Vibrations lead to the renormalization of atomic interactions. The occurrence of mesoscopic disorder results in the appearance of first-order phase transitions between the states with different levels of atomic imbalance. The existence of a nonuniform external potential, such as trapping potential, essentially changes the lattice properties, suppressing the disorder fraction and rising the transition temperature.  相似文献

SrTiO3 thin films were used as a model system to study the effects of strain and epitaxial constraint on structural phase transitions of perovskite films. The basic phenomena revealed will apply to a variety of important structural transitions including the ferroelectric transition. Highly strained SrTiO3 films were grown on different substrates, providing both compressive and tensile strain. The measured strain-temperature phase diagram is qualitatively consistent with theory; however, the increase in the phase transition temperature is much larger than predicted. Because of the epitaxial strain and substrate clamping, the SrTiO3 lattice is tetragonal at all temperatures. The phase transitions involve only changes in internal symmetry. The low temperature phase under tensile strain has a unique structure with orthorhombic Cmcm space group but a tetragonal lattice, an interesting consequence of epitaxial constraint.  相似文献

We have performed chain-growth simulations of minimalistic hybrid lattice models for polymers interacting with interfaces of attractive solid substrates in order to gain insights into the conformational transitions of the polymers in the adsorption process. Primarily focusing on the dependence of the conformational behavior on temperature and solubility, we obtained pseudophase diagrams with a detailed structure of conformational subphases. In the study of hydrophobic-polar peptides in the vicinity of different types of substrates, we found a noticeable substrate specificity of the assembly of hydrophobic domains in the conformations dominating the adsorption subphases. The microdynamics of nonlinear crystal lattice vibrations of Pu and U at temperatures of martensitic phase transitions has been studied. Using the Lenard-Jones potential, the dynamic equations are solved when the energy is transferred by solitons. The synchronism of solitons and the energy flux peaks demonstrates the staccato-effect. The temperature dependences of the thermal conductivity have maxima at the phase transitions. A spectral analysis shows that the main heat transfer is provided by rarefaction solitons. Upon the martensitic transition, the spectral density is transformed with “ignition” of the high-frequency region. The spectral density demonstrates maxima of the quasi-biphonon type.  相似文献

The coexistence of two domain phases, namely, a spiral domain and a bubble-domain lattice, is investigated experimentally in thin garnet ferrite films with uniaxial anisotropy. The condition for this coexistence is shown to be the equality of the magnetostatic pressures of the two phases. It is also shown that the possible formation of a spiral domain structure is determined by the magnetostatic pressure.  相似文献
