考虑电子与体纵光学声子相互作用时,采用LLP变分方法,研究柱形量子线中极化子性质,导出了柱形量子线中极化子光学声子平均数随量子线截面半径和电子-LO声子耦合强度的变化关系.结果表明柱形量子线中极化子的光学声子平均数随量子线截面半径减小而减小,随电子-LO声子耦合强度增强而增加.  相似文献

A recent highlight in the study of high-T(c) superconductors is the observation of band renormalization or self-energy effects on the quasiparticles. This is seen in the form of kinks in the quasiparticle dispersions as measured by photoemission and interpreted as signatures of collective bosonic modes coupling to the electrons. Here we compare for the first time the self-energies in an optimally doped and strongly overdoped, nonsuperconducting single-layer Bi-cuprate (Bi2Sr2CuO6). In addition to the appearance of a strong overall weakening, we also find that the weight of the self-energy in the overdoped system shifts to higher energies. We present evidence that this is related to a change in the coupling to c-axis phonons due to the rapid change of the c-axis screening in this doping range.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the electron self-energy and effective mass in a single heterostructure using Greenfunction method. Numerical calculations of the electron self-energy and effective mass for GaAs/A1As heterostructure are performed. The results show that the self-energy (effective mass) of electrons, which incorporate the energy of electron coupling to interface-optical phonons and half of the three-dimensional longitudinal optical phonons, increase (decrease) monotonically from that of interface polaron to that of the 3D bulk polaron with increasing the distance between the positions of the electron and interface.  相似文献

We study the interaction between an electron and the polarization modes of a metal-insulator interface by employing a self-energy approach. The coupling between the metal surface plasmons and the insulator surface excitons is explicitly considered. The surface optical phonons are shown to be screened out by the plasmon field. We derive expressions for the charge-coupling Hamiltonians of the bulk and interface modes and calculate a self-energy profile that includes recoil effects due to the quantum nature of the electron's motion.  相似文献

We derive the ac spin-Hall conductivity sigmasH(omega) of two-dimensional spin-orbit coupled systems interacting with dispersionless phonons of frequency omega0. For the linear Rashba model, we show that the electron-phonon contribution to the spin-vertex corrections breaks the universality of sigmasH(omega) at low frequencies and provides a nontrivial renormalization of the interband resonance. On the contrary, in a generalized Rashba model for which the spin-vertex contributions are absent, the coupling to the phonons enters only through the self-energy, leaving the low-frequency behavior of sigmasH(omega) unaffected by the electron-phonon interaction.  相似文献

In this Letter, we report measurements of the coupling between Dirac fermion quasiparticles (DFQs) and phonons on the (001) surface of the strong topological insulator Bi2Se3. While most contemporary investigations of this coupling have involved examining the temperature dependence of the DFQ self-energy via angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements, we employ inelastic helium-atom scattering to explore, for the first time, this coupling from the phonon perspective. Using a Hilbert transform, we are able to obtain the imaginary part of the phonon self-energy associated with a dispersive surface-phonon branch identified in our previous work [Phys. Rev. Lett. 107, 186102 (2011)] as having strong interactions with the DFQs. From this imaginary part of the self-energy we obtain a branch-specific electron-phonon coupling constant of 0.43, which is stronger than the values reported from the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements.  相似文献

The effective Hamiltonian and the renormalized mass of surface polaron, where the electron is strongly coupled with the surface optical (SO) phonons but weakly or intermediately coupled with the bulk longit udinal-optical (LO) phonons, were first reviewed. The self-energy and the renormalized mass of the polaron for the polar crystals of potassium iodide, silver chloride and silver bromide are evaluated as a function of the depth Gom the crystal surface. Results of our calculation indicate that the effect of the electron-SO phonon interaction is dominant only within a very small layer from the crystal surface. Its justification awaits further experimental results.  相似文献

The contribution of spin-lattice coupling to the phonon self-energy is calculated for a diluted two-dimensional "soft" ferromagnet. The calculations are based on a bond percolation model. Numerical results are presented for the dampings of phonon excitations. At low temperature, the damping rate is much smaller than the frequency of excitations, leading to well-defined phonons. The overall features of the Г ( q ) curves possess similar characteristics: Г ( q ) has two maximum points at qa ≈ 0.5 and qa ≈ 1.7, the value of the latter is much larger than the former. The temperature-dependent phonon line widths arising from spinlattice coupling are also presented. We point out the sensitivity of the interaction on bond concentration of the network.  相似文献

We develop a theory for the renormalization of the phonon energy dispersion in graphene due to the combined effects of both Coulomb and electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions. We obtain the renormalized phonon energy spectrum by an exact analytic derivation of the phonon self-energy, finding three distinct Kohn anomalies (KAs) at the phonon wave vector q=omega/v, 2k_{F}+/-omega/v for LO phonons and one at q=omega/v for TO phonons. The presence of these new KAs in graphene, in contrast to the usual KA q=2k_{F} in ordinary metals, originates from the dynamical screening of e-ph interaction (with a concomitant breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation) and the peculiar chirality of the graphene e-ph coupling.  相似文献

A method for calculating the phonon self-energy in metals arising from the coupling between phonons and electrons near the Fermi surface is developed. The essence of this scheme is the separation of the inter- and intraband parts of the electron polarizability. The intraband contribution provides extra screenings and is closely related to the electron-phonon coupling and phonon softening in metals. Applications of this scheme to phonons in MgB2 give excellent results when compared with experiments and previous theoretical work. In addition, both electron and hole dopings are found to reduce the renormalization effect of the E(2g) phonon mode, which indicates a weakened electron-phonon coupling in the doped systems.  相似文献

High-resolution photoemission data of the (110) iron surface reveal the existence of well-defined metallic surface resonances in good correspondence to band calculations. Close to the Fermi level, their dispersion and momentum broadening display anomalies characteristic of quasiparticle renormalization due to coupling to bosonic excitations. Its energy scale exceeds that of phonons by far, and is in striking coincidence with that of the spin wave spectrum in iron. The self-energy behavior thus gives spectroscopic evidence of a quasiparticle mass enhancement due to electron-magnon coupling.  相似文献

A d-wave, Eliashberg analysis of break-junction and STM tunneling spectra on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O(8+delta) (Bi2212) reveals that the spectral dip feature is directly linked to strong electronic coupling to a narrow boson spectrum, evidenced by a large peak in alpha2F(omega). The tunneling dip feature remains robust in the overdoped regime of Bi2212 with bulk T(c) values of 56 K-62 K. This is contrary to recent optical conductivity measurements of the self-energy that suggest the narrow boson spectrum disappears in overdoped Bi2212 and therefore cannot be essential for the pairing mechanism. The discrepancy is resolved by considering the way each technique probes the electron self-energy, in particular, the unique sensitivity of tunneling to the off-diagonal or pairing part of the self-energy.  相似文献

In this paper, a theory is developed for examining the influence of the spin-phonon interaction on the phonon dynamics in anharmonic crystals. In contrast to a harmonic approximation such an approach allows for comparing the role of the direct interaction between lattice vibrations with that of the indirect interaction via spins in the propagation and attenuation of sound as well as in the behaviour of thermodynamic quantities. Explicit expressions are derived for the phonon self-energy using successively higher approximations obtained from a cumulant expansion of the density of interparticle distances. It is shown that even in the harmonic approximation the two-spin correlation function and the four-spin correlation function enter into the expression of the generalized dynamical matrix in deviation from previous results. The modification of this harmonic dynamical matrix due to the renormalization of the harmonic phonons and due to phonon-phonon scattering processes is given employing a “weak coupling” approximation between the localized spins and the interparticle-distance density of the crystal. The resemblance of the present approach to an earlier microscopic treatment of electronic contributions to phonon dynamics in anharmonic crystals is pointed out.  相似文献

We study the effect of dynamical Holstein phonons on the physics of the Hubbard model at small doping using the dynamical cluster approximation on a 2x2 cluster. Nonlocal antiferromagnetic correlations are found to significantly enhance the electron-phonon coupling, resulting in polaron formation for moderate coupling strengths. At finite doping, the electron-phonon coupling is found to strongly enhance the nonlocal spin correlations, indicating a synergistic interplay between the electron-phonon coupling and antiferromagnetic correlations. Although it enhances the pairing interaction, the electron-phonon coupling is found to decrease the superconducting transition temperature, due to the reduction in the quasiparticle fraction.  相似文献

Density-functional calculations of the phonon spectrum and electron-phonon coupling in MgB (2) are presented. The E(2g) phonons, which involve in-plane B displacements, couple strongly to the p(x,y) electronic bands. The isotropic electron-phonon coupling constant is calculated to be about 0.8. Allowing for different order parameters in different bands, the superconducting lambda in the clean limit is calculated to be significantly larger. The E(2g) phonons are strongly anharmonic, and the nonlinear contribution to the coupling between the E(2g) modes and the p(x,y) bands is significant.  相似文献
