Data on the concentrations of K, Ca, Ti, Fe, Cu, Zn, Ga, Rb, Sr and Zr obtained by PIXE and of B, F, Na, Mg, Al, Si and Cu obtained by proton-induced prompt gamma-ray spectrometry were used to characterize archaeological artefacts and source materials by multivariate analysis. Summary The thermal neutron prompt gamma-ray activation analysis (PGAA) facility, operated by the US Food and Drug Administration and National Institute of Standards and Technology Center for Neutron Research, has been redesigned to lower background radiation levels and improved analytical capabilities. Analysis of 22 element standards and food and botanical certified reference materials revealed significant sensitivity increases and lower limits of detection for H, B, C, N, Na, Al, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Fe, and Cd. Mass fractions for these elements, as well as Mg, Al, Si, Ti, Mn, Fe, Cu, I, Zn, Sm, and Gd, were determined for 6 dietary supplements.  相似文献

Tar sands from a deep borehole in southwestern Nigeria were subjected to elemental analysis by simultaneous proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) and proton induced gamma-ray emission (PIGME) techniques. The concentration of 22 major, minor and trace elements, namely Al, Ca, Cr, Cu, F, Fe, Ga, Ge, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Na, P, Pb, Rb, S, Si, Sr, Ti, Zn and Zr were determined. The accuracy and precision of the techniques for chemical analysis were assured by analysing the NBS 278 geological standard.  相似文献

Non-destructive multi-element determination in environmental samples by neutron-induced prompt -ray analysis (PGA) has been investigated. Comparative standardization for the elements including H, B, C, N, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Co, Cd, Sm, Gd, Hg by PGA has been carried out using the cold and thermal guided neutron beams of JRR-3M reactor and then several environmental reference materials have been analyzed. Accuracy and precision of better than 20% were found for these elemental analyses except for H, C, N and Cl in biological samples. Detection limits in various environmental matrices were 25 to 820 ng/g for B, Cd, Sm and Gd, 1.1 to 820 g/g for H, Na, S, Cl, K, Ti, Mn, Co and Hg, and 0.031 to 10% for C, N, Mg, Al, Si, P, Ca and Fe. The present method is being applied to environmental studies of post war Persian Gulf together with INAA and ICP-MS.  相似文献

Bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of all possible A-X single bonds involving the first- and second-row atoms, from Li to Cl, where the free valences are saturated by hydrogens, have been estimated through the use of the G3-theory and at the B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2pd)//B3LYP/6-31G(2df,p) DFT level of theory. BDEs exhibit a periodical behavior. The A-X (A = Li, Be, B, Na, Mg, Al, and Si) BDEs show a steady increase along the first and the second row of the periodic table as a function of the atomic number Z(X). For A-X bonds involving electronegative atoms (A = C, N, O, F, P, S, and Cl) the bond energies achieve a maximum around Z(X) = 5. The same behavior is observed when BDEs are plotted against the electronegativity chi(X) of the atom X. Thus, for A-X bonds (A = Li, Be, B, Na, Mg, Al, Si), the BDEs for a fixed A increases, grosso modo, as the electronegativity differences between X and A increase, with some exceptions, which reflect the differences in the relaxation energies of the radicals produced upon the bond cleavage. A similar trend, albeit less pronounced, is found for single A-X bonds, where A = C, N, O, F, P, S, and Cl. However, there is an additional feature embodied in the enhancement of the strength of the A-boron bonds due to the ability of boron to act as a strong electron acceptor. The trends in bond lengths and charge densities at the bond critical points are in line with the aforementioned behavior.  相似文献

We report the first attempt to assemble the magic cluster Al4N- on the basis of the density functional theory calculations on a series of pi-stacked dimers (Al4N-)2, sandwich-like compounds [D(Al4N)M]q- (where D = Al4N-, Cp-(C5H5-); M = Li, Na, K, Be, Mg, Ca) and extended compounds (Cp-)m(Li+)n(Al4N-)o (where m, n, and o are integers). For the six metals, the magic Al4N- can only be assembled and grow up in our newly proposed "hetero-decked sandwich" scheme (e.g., [CpM(Al4N)]q-) so as to avoid cluster fusion. The ground-state hetero-decked sandwich species (Cp-)(M)q+(Al4N)- (M = Li, Na, K, q = 1; M = Be, Mg, Ca, q = 2) and the extended sandwich species (Cp-)m(Li+)n(Al4N-)o are mainly ionically bonded, cluster-assembled "polyatomic molecules", grown from the combination of Cp-, M-atoms, and Al4N-. As a prototype for ionic bonding involving intact Al4N- subunits, [CpM(Al4N)]q- may be a stepping stone toward forming ionic, cluster-assembled AlN compounds.  相似文献

Particle induced gamma-ray emission (PIGE) method using 4 MeV proton beam was utilized to analyze two types of barium borosilicate glass (BaBSG) samples for quantification of concentrations of low Z elements. The in situ current normalization method was applied in the analysis of eight samples containing varying concentration of F along with Si, B and Na. Charge normalized PIGE method was applied to determine concentrations of above low Z elements including Li and Al in samples having simulated nuclear waste from reprocessing of thoria spent fuel. We report a solid state nuclear magnetic resonance study of (23)Na, (27)Al, and (31)P in two crystalline nitridophosphate phases, Na(3)AlP(3)O(9)N and Na(2)Mg(2)P(3)O(9)N, including two-dimensional multiple-quantum magic angle spinning (MQ-MAS) experiments on (23)Na to separate overlapping lines. The previously described single-crystal structure of Na(3)AlP(3)O(9)N gives crystallographic examples of Al(OP)(6) and P(O[Al,Na])(2)(ONa)(N[P,Na]) environments and three different environments of sodium: two Na(O)(6) and one Na(O)(6)(N). From these observations we characterize the modification of the local environment of phosphorus and show that Mg only substitutes Na in the Na2 site of the Na(2)Mg(2)P(3)O(9)N structure.  相似文献

The interaction of N(2) and O(2) with extraframework cations of zeolite frameworks was studied by DFT, using the B3LYP method. The extraframework cation sites located in the vicinity of the double six-member rings (D6R) of FAU zeolites (SI, SI', SIII') were considered and clusters with composition (M(n)(+))(2/)(n)()H(12)Si(10)Al(2)O(18), M = Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Ca(2+), were selected to represent the adsorption centers. The cation sites SII in the center of single six-membered rings (S6R) were modeled by [M(I)H(12)Si(4)Al(2)O(6)](-) and M(II)H(12)Si(4)Al(2)O(6) clusters. The adsorption energy of N(2) and O(2) is the highest for Li(+) cations at the SIII' cation sites, while for the SI' and SII sites the adsorption energies decrease in the order Ca(2+) > Na(+) > Li(+). The calculated small N(2) adsorption energy for Li(+) cations at SII sites suggests that these sites do not take part in the sorption process in agreement with results of NMR studies and Monte Carlo simulations. The N(2) adsorption complexes with the extraframework cations are linear, while those of O(2) are bent regardless of the extraframework cation location. The SIII' cation sites are the most favorable ones with respect to N(2) adsorption capacity and N(2)/O(2) selectivity; the SII sites are less selective and the SI sites are not accessible.  相似文献

In order to evaluate alternative analytical methodologies to study the geographical origin of ciders, both multi-elemental analysis and Sr isotope abundance ratios in combination with multivariate statistical analysis were estimated in 67 samples from England, Switzerland, France and two Spanish regions (Asturias and the Basque Country). A methodology for the precise and accurate determination of the 87Sr/86Sr isotope abundance ratio in ciders by multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS) was developed. Major elements (Na, K, Ca and Mg) were measured by ICP-AES and minor and trace elements (Li, Be, B, Al, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Y, Mo, Cd, Sn, Sb, Cs, Ba, La, Ce, W, Tl, Pb, Bi, Th and U) were measured by ICP-MS using a collision cell instrument operated in multitune mode. An analysis of variance (ANOVA test) indicated that group means for B, Cr, Fe, Ni, Cu, Se, Cd, Cs, Ce, W, Pb, Bi and U did not show any significant differences at the 95% confidence level, so these elements were rejected for further statistical analysis. Another group of elements (Li, Be, Sc, Co, Ga, Y, Sn, Sb, La, Tl, Th) was removed from the data set because concentrations were close to the limits of detection for many samples. Therefore, the remaining elements (Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti, V, Mn, Zn, As, Rb, Sr, Mo, Ba) together with 87Sr/86Sr isotope abundance ratio were considered for principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). Finally, LDA was able to classify correctly 100% of cider samples coming from different Spanish regions, France, England and Switzerland when considering Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti, V, Mn, Zn, As, Rb, Sr, Mo, Ba and 87Sr/86Sr isotope abundance ratio as original variables.  相似文献

Multielement determination in reference materials of diet and its relatedsamples has been studied by a k 0 based neutron-induced prompt gamma-ray analysis(PGA) by using cold and thermal guided neutron beams of JRR-3M at JAERI. Hydrogen,B, C, N, Na, S, Cl, K and Ca were determined in the reference materials ofNIES and NIST typical diet and milk powder samples. We have reported the 25Mg triple-quantum magic-angle spinning (3QMAS) NMR spectra of silicate glasses. The two-dimensional spectra suggest that the magnesium ions in MgSiO3, CaMgSi2O6, Ca2MgSi2O7, Mg3Al2Si3O12, and Li2MgSi2O6 glasses are mainly in octahedral environments, although in Na2MgSi2O6, K2MgSi2O6, and K2MgSi5O12 glasses they form tetrahedral species. We discussed the coordination environments of Mg based on the field strength of competing Mg2+, Ca2+, Na+, K+, and Li+ cations, and convincingly demonstrated that there is a correlation between them. These results indicate that the two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy such as MQMAS technique is a very useful method to analyze the local environments of nonframework cations in noncrystalline solids.  相似文献

Summary Multi-element analysis by ICP source mass spectrometry for practically matrix-free natural waters, coming from a granitic area and, therefore, rich in trace elements, has been compared with ICP-atomic emission, ICP atomic fluorescence and atomic absorption spectrometry. The following elements have been investigated and their concentrations are in the decreasing order: Ca, Si, Na, Mg, K, Al; Sr, Mn, Ba, Fe, Rb, Zn, B, U, Y, Li, La, Be, Cs, Co, Cr, V, Sb, Bi, Th, Cu, Cd, Ni, Se, Pb, As, Hg, Mo, Tl, Sn. The concentration ranges were between 10 ppm and <0.01 ppb.As a measure of agreement between the different methods under investigation, two criteria have been used (a) the relative variation coefficient VK (%) of the mean element concentration of an element, determined by different methods in all the 98 water samples and (b) the linear, logarithmic and Spearman rank correlation coefficients between ICP-MS and each of the other methods. Detection limits are given from literature for about 32 elements using different methods.The elements Ca, Na, Mg, K, Mn, Sr, Zn, Fe, Li, Cu have been determined with ICP-MS, ICP-AES and AAS; Al, Ba with ICP-MS and ICP-AES; Si only with ICP-AES, whereas B, Be, Bi, Co, Cr, Cs, Hg, La, Mo, Ni, Pb, Rb, Sb, Sn, Th, Tl, U, V, Y only with ICP-MS. In all 34 of the investigated 36 elements could be analysed by ICP-MS, 14 (from about 20 possible) by AAS, 13 by ICP-AES and 12 by ICP-AFS.The agreement between ICP-MS and ICP-AES as well as between ICP-MS and AAS in most cases is remarkably good according to (a). VK (%) for each element in 98 water samples is in the range from ±2.6 to 10% for Na, Mg, Ca, K, Fe, Sr, Ba, Cu, Li (increasing order). Cd and Zn have unexpectedly higher values (±17.3 and ±20.5%); Cd concentrations are, however, near the detection limit.Comparing the different methods on the basis of correlation coefficients according to (b), gives for the Spearman rank correlation coefficient over the whole range of concentrations, respectively for ICP-MS/ICP-AES, AAS, ICP-AFS in case of Ca: 0.998; 0.984; 0.899; Na: 0.993; 0.991; 0.978; Mg: 0.997; 0.993; 0.959; K: 0.986; 0.942; 0.677; Al: 0.987; -; -; Fe: 0.864; 0.974; 0.701; Mn: 0.989; 0.990; 0.198; Sr: 0.988; 0.992; -; Zn: 0.894; 0.819; 0.300; Cu: -; 0.977; 0.202; Li: -; 0.907; 0.586.It is evident from these trace element concentrations as well as the electrical conductivities, that only about three fourths of the investigated samples are typical granitic waters and the remaining ones are associated with different geological background. The samples have been mainly radon waters with more than 18 nCi/l of Rn-222.

采用B3LYP/6—31G*方法,对内含式化合物X@Al12P12(X=Li^0/ ,Na^0/ ,K^0/2 ,Be^0/2 ,Mg^0/2 ,Ca^0/2 ,H和He)的不同对称性构型进行计算,讨论其最稳定构型的几何参数、布居分析、偶极矩、电离势、包含能、频率、HOMO—LUMO能隙和自旋密度.发现X@Al12P12化合物中,客体X=Na^0/ ,K^0/ ,Mg和He几乎处在笼的中心,Be和Ca^0/2 处在中心附近0.033nm的半径内,Li^0/ ,Be^2 ,Mg^2 和H很大程度上偏离笼的中心位置.大部分金属内含式化合物的C3对称性构型稳定.Li^0/ 。,Be^0/2 ,Mg^2 ,Ca^2 和H与其它离子相比更易嵌入笼内形成稳定的内含式化合物.  相似文献

The reliability of neutron-induced prompt gamma-ray analysis (PGA) was examined for the determination of Na and Mg in geological and cosmochemical rock samples, because they tend to have been erroneously determined for such samples. JB-1 (basalt standard rock) and Allende (chondritic meteorite) powder samples were repeatedly analyzed by using thermal or cold neutron-guided beams of the JRR-3M research reactor at Japan Atomic Energy Agency. In critically evaluating calculated values for major prompt gamma-rays of Na and Mg, it was observed that a 472.2 keV peak for Na and a 2828.2 keV peak for Mg yielded reasonable consistency with corresponding recommended values. Sodium and Mg were determined for five lunar meteorites by PGA using these prompt gamma-rays, and were found to be consistent with their data obtained by instrumental neutron activation analysis.  相似文献

We propose the X1 method which combines the density functional theory method with a neural network (NN) correction for an accurate yet efficient prediction of heats of formation. It calculates the final energy by using B3LYP6-311+G(3df,2p) at the B3LYP6-311+G(d,p) optimized geometry to obtain the B3LYP standard heats of formation at 298 K with the unscaled zero-point energy and thermal corrections at the latter basis set. The NN parameters cover 15 elements of H, Li, Be, B, C, N, O, F, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, and Cl. The performance of X1 is close to the Gn theories, giving a mean absolute deviation of 1.43 kcalmol for the G399 set of 223 molecules up to 10 nonhydrogen atoms and 1.48 kcal/mol for the X107 set of 393 molecules up to 32 nonhydrogen atoms.  相似文献

Based on the D3 C32 fullerene, the equilibrium geometries, electronic structures, and binding energies of the endohedral fullerenes X0/n+@C32 (X = H, Li, Na, K, Be, Mg, Ca, B, Al, C, Si, N, P, n = 1–3) have been calculated using the DFT/B3LYP/6‐31G(d) method. The results show that the C32 cages are slightly enlarged due to encapsulation, and the sizes of non‐neutral molecules are smaller than the corresponding neutral ones.
