A model is proposed to study the average capacity optimization in free-space optical (FSO) channels, accounting for effects of atmospheric turbulence and pointing errors. For a given transmitter laser power, it is shown that both transmitter beam divergence angle and beam waist can be tuned to maximize the average capacity. Meanwhile, their optimum values strongly depend on the jitter and operation wavelength. These results can be helpful for designing FSO communication systems.  相似文献

The dynamical behavior of various physical and biological systems under the influence of delayed feedback or coupling can be modeled by including terms with delayed arguments in the equations of motion. In particular, the case of long delay may lead to complicated and high-dimensional dynamics. We investigate the effects of delay in systems that display an oscillatory instability (Hopf bifurcation) in the absence of delay. We show by analytical and numerical methods that the dynamical scenario includes the coexistence of multiple stable periodic solutions and can be described in terms of the Eckhaus instability, which is well known in the context of spatially extended systems.  相似文献

We investigate the dynamical properties of delay differential equations with large delay. Starting from a mathematical discussion of the singular limit τ → ∞, we present a novel theoretical approach to the stability properties of stationary solutions in such systems. We introduce the notion of strong and weak instabilities and describe a method that allows us to calculate asymptotic approximations of the corresponding parts of the spectrum. The theoretical results are illustrated by several examples, including the control of unstable steady states of focus type by time delayed feedback control and the stability of external cavity modes in the Lang-Kobayashi system for semiconductor lasers with optical feedback.  相似文献

鉴于相干光正交频分复用系统(CO-OFDM)易受非线性效应影响,严重制约系统传输性能, 提出一种基于星座恢复的降低系统峰均值功率比(PAPR)的方法。对系统模型及作用机理进行分析,仿真结果显示,以10 Gbit/s的速率通过单模光纤传输720 km,基于星座恢复的CO-OFDM系统Q值较无非线性抑制的CO-OFDM系统有3 dB提高;另外,系统最佳限幅比例系数受色度色散影响,随着色散因子的增大,星座恢复效果也逐渐减弱,在传输240 km条件下,色散因子为12 ps/nmkm较6 ps/nmkm,限幅比例系数从0.9降低至0.8。  相似文献

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a technique for wideband transmission that is commonly used in modern wireless communication systems because of its good performance over frequency selective channels. However OFDM systems are sensitive to channel time variations resulting in Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI), that without suitable detection methods can degrade performance significantly. Channel State Information (CSI) is essential to various OFDM detection schemes, and its acquisition is a critical factor over time varying channels. This work considers a Kalman filter channel multipath gains estimation technique for time varying environments, integrated with a novel detection scheme for OFDM based on a Sphere Decoding (SD) algorithm derived to exploit the banded structure of the channel matrix. This combined scheme employs decision–feedback from the SD requiring only a low pilot symbol density, and hence improves bandwidth efficiency. Three techniques for integrating the Kalman filter operating in decision–feedback mode, with SD data detection that produces these decisions, are considered in this paper. When compared with other competing schemes, this integrated symbol detection and channel multipath gains estimation approach for OFDM provides performance advantages over time varying channels. Furthermore, it is shown that for moderate Doppler shifts the degradation that carrier phase noise induces in this scheme is small.  相似文献

The dynamical complexity and stochastic resonance (SR) of a time-delayed asymmetric bistable system are studied. Firstly, The effective potential function and steady-state probability density function are deduced based on Born-Oppenheimer approximation theory, and we find that the asymmetric item and time-delayed feedback item can both affect the curve of these two functions, especially the asymmetric item can induce phase displacement. Secondly, the mean first-passage time (MFPT) which plays an important role in research on particles escape rate is derived and we obtain an approximate asymmetric item r which can maintain a steady MFPT. Finally, the influences of different parameters on SR are researched by signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The analytic expression of SNR is derived and three dimensional graphs and contour maps of SNR with different parameters are obtained. The results indicate that time delay τ and time delay strength e can enhance the SNR and the asymmetric item r has a non-monotone effect on SNR. Notably, adjusting time delay strength e is more sensitive than that of the time delay τ in controlling SR.  相似文献

Brake squeal is still a major issue in the automotive industry due to comfort complaints of passengers and resulting high warranty costs. Many measures to avoid squeal have been discussed in the engineering community reaching from purely passive measures like the increase of damping, e.g. by the application of shims, to the active or semiactive suppression of squeal. While active measures can be effective but are elaborate and therefore more expensive, passive measure are less complex in most cases. This leads to the necessity to develop passive, economic and robust measures to avoid squeal. Asymmetry of the brake rotor has been proposed to achieve this goal and the resulting split of all double eigenfrequencies of the brake rotor has lately been shown to stabilize the system.  相似文献

Atmospheric turbulence(AT) induced crosstalk can significantly impair the performance of a free-space optical(FSO)communication link using orbital angular momentum(OAM) multiplexing.In this paper,we propose a multiple-user detection(MUD) turbulence mitigation scheme in an OAM-multiplexed FSO communication link.First,we present a MUD equivalent communication model for an OAM-multiplexed FSO communication link under AT.In the equivalent model,each input bit stream represents one user's information.The deformed OAM spatial modes caused by AT,instead of the pure OAM spatial modes,are used as information carriers,and the overlapping between the deformed OAM spatial modes are computed as the correlation coefficients between the users.Then,we present a turbulence mitigation scheme based on MUD idea to enhance AT tolerance of the OAM-multiplexed FSO communication link.In the proposed scheme,the crosstalk caused by AT is used as a useful component to deduce users' information.The numerical results show that the performance of the OAM-multiplexed communication link has greatly improved by the proposed scheme.When the turbulence strength C_n~2 is 1 × 10~(-15) m~(-2/3),the transmission distance is 1000 m and the channel signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)is 26 dB,the bit-error-rate(BER) performance of four spatial multiplexed OAM modes l_m = + 1,+2,+3,+4 are all close to 10~(-5),and there is a 2-3 fold increase in the BER performance in comparison with those results without the proposed scheme.In addition,the proposed scheme is more effective for an OAM-multiplexed FSO communication link with a larger OAM mode topological charge interval.The proposed scheme is a promising direction for compensating the interference caused by AT in the OAM-multiplexed FSO communication link.  相似文献

We address M-ary communication channels based on entangled two-mode states of radiation in the presence of losses. In particular we focus on channels build by two-mode coherently-correlated (TMC) or twin-beam (TWB) states. Optimized bit discrimination thresholds, as well as the corresponding maximized mutual information, are explicitly evaluated as a function of beam intensities and loss parameters for binary and quaternary alphabets. The evolution of the two entangled support states in lossy channels is analyzed and the joint photon number distribution is evaluated, showing that the beam statistics (either sub-Poissonian for TMC or super-Poissonian for TWB) is not altered by channel losses. The effects of losses on the channel security is discussed. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

We propose a metal gap superlattice that can decrease the group velocity of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) with a large normalized delay bandwidth product (NDBP) and small high-order dispersion. The length of the superlattice is only 8.60 μm and the transmission is 0.4. The multiple reflections of photons in the nanocavity result in slow SPP group velocity. The numerical analysis exploiting the transfer matrix method (TMM) is confirmed by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) numerical simulations. In optical coherence tomography, axial and lateral resolutions are determined by the source coherence length and the numerical aperture of the sampling lens, respectively. Whereas axial resolution can be improved by use of a broadband light source, there is a trade-off between lateral resolution and focusing depth when conventional optical elements are used. We report on the incorporation of an axicon lens into the sample arm of an interferometer to overcome this limitation. Using an axicon lens with a top angle of 160 degrees , we maintained 10-microm or better lateral resolution over a focusing depth of at least 6 mm. In addition to having high lateral resolution, the focusing spot has an intensity that is approximately constant over a greater depth range than when a conventional lens is used.  相似文献

ASTROD-GW(ASTROD [astrodynamical space test of relativity using optical devices] optimized for gravitational wave detection) is a gravitational-wave mission with the aim of detecting gravitational waves from massive black holes,extreme mass ratio inspirals(EMRIs) and galactic compact binaries together with testing relativistic gravity and probing dark energy and cosmology. Mission orbits of the 3 spacecrafts forming a nearly equilateral triangular array are chosen to be near the Sun–Earth Lagrange points L3, L4, and L5. The 3 spacecrafts range interferometrically with one another with arm length about 260 million kilometers. For 260 times longer arm length, the detection sensitivity of ASTRODGW is 260 fold better than that of e LISA/NGO in the lower frequency region by assuming the same acceleration noise.Therefore, ASTROD-GW will be a better cosmological probe. In previous papers, we have worked out the time delay interferometry(TDI) for the ecliptic formation. To resolve the reflection ambiguity about the ecliptic plane in source position determination, we have changed the basic formation into slightly inclined formation with half-year precessionperiod. In this paper, we optimize a set of 10-year inclined ASTROD-GW mission orbits numerically using ephemeris framework starting at June 21, 2035, including cases of inclination angle with 0°(no inclination), 0.5°, 1.0°, 1.5°, 2.0°, 2.5°,and 3.0°. We simulate the time delays of the first and second generation TDI configurations for the different inclinations, and compare/analyse the numerical results to attain the requisite sensitivity of ASTROD-GW by suppressing laser frequency noise below the secondary noises. To explicate our calculation process for different inclination cases, we take the 1.0°as an example to show the orbit optimization and TDI simulation.  相似文献

从耳镜变焦的目的出发,结合人耳的形状特点和耳镜的实际应用,使用粒子群优化PW系数求解结构参数的方法设计了一款3倍变焦的耳镜光学系统。变焦系统在做大范围观察时,视场角为2ω=30°,在长焦位置做仔细观察时,70lp/mm处MTF大于0.3。设计了入耳部分的微型结构,并使光斑直径小于爱里斑直径,畸变小于20%。在耳道各位置均能清晰成像,耳镜的使用更加方便,在耳疾诊治领域有广泛的应用前景。  相似文献

提出改进的粒子群优化算法,获得波束方向图主瓣宽度和旁瓣级折中的优化立体阵形,避免基本实数粒子群算法仅采用旁瓣级或主瓣宽度一个性能指标优化而导致另一个性能指标恶化的问题,利用阵列视角限制进一步优化立体阵形并设计了声成像测量系统。改进的粒子群算法与基本粒子群算法仿真优化阵形比较表明改进粒子群算法设计的优化阵形在保持较窄的主瓣宽度的条件下具有较低的旁瓣级。阵列声成像测量系统的性能测量分析结果表明该系统的空间分辨率和旁瓣抑制能力与理论结果接近,验证了所提算法的有效性。  相似文献

Astrodynamical space test of relativity using optical devices optimized for gravitation wave detection (ASTROD- GW) is an optimization of ASTROD to focus on the goal of detection of gravitation waves. The detection sensitivity is shifted 52 times toward larger wavelength compared with that of laser interferometer space antenna (LISA). The mission orbits of the three spacecrafts forming a nearly equilateral triangular array are chosen to be near the Sun-Earth Lagrange points L3, L4, and L5. The three spacecrafts range interferometrically with one another with an arm length of about 260 million kilometers. In order to attain the required sensitivity for ASTROD-GW, laser frequency noise must be suppressed to below the secondary noises such as the optical path noise, acceleration noise, etc. For suppressing laser frequency noise, we need to use time delay interferometry (TDI) to match the two different optical paths (times of travel). Since planets and other solar-system bodies perturb the orbits of ASTROD-GW spacecraft and affect the TDI, we simulate the time delay numerically using CGC 2.7 (here, CGC stands for center for gravitation and cosmology) ephemeris framework. To conform to the ASTROD-GW planning, we work out a set of 20-year optimized mission orbits of ASTROD-GW spacecraft starting at June 21, 2028, and calculate the differences in optical path in the first and second generation TDIs separately for one-detector case. In our optimized mission orbits of 20 years, changes of arm lengths are less than 0.0003 AU; the relative Doppler velocities are all less than 3m/s. All the second generation TDI for one-detector case satisfies the ASTROD-GW requirement.  相似文献

The heat transfer at superposition of high-frequency oscillations on a laminar flow of a liquid in flat and rectan-gular channels at a distance from an inlet of a heated site is investigated under boundary conditions on channel walls of the first and second kind. For the flat channel, the obtained analytical expressions for the amplitude and phase profiles of the longitudinal velocity oscillations are used as a function of the dimensionless oscillation frequency in the form of functions of a real variable. It is shown that the mean value taken for the perimeter of the channel and also the period of oscillations, the Nusselt number for large amplitudes of mean velocity oscillations over the cross section can signifi-cantly exceed its stationary value. The limiting value of the ratio of Nusselt numbers for a pulsating and steady flow in the region of high pulsation frequencies is found.  相似文献
