We study the motion of isentropic gas in nozzles. This is a major subject in fluid dynamics. In fact, the nozzle is utilized to increase the thrust of rocket engines. Moreover, the nozzle flow is closely related to astrophysics. These phenomena are governed by the compressible Euler equations, which are one of crucial equations in inhomogeneous conservation laws.In this paper, we consider its unsteady flow and devote to proving the global existence and stability of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the general nozzle. The theorem has been proved in Tsuge (2013). However, this result is limited to small data. Our aim in the present paper is to remove this restriction, that is, we consider large data. Although the subject is important in Mathematics, Physics and engineering, it remained open for a long time. The problem seems to rely on a bounded estimate of approximate solutions, because we have only method to investigate the behavior with respect to the time variable. To solve this, we first introduce a generalized invariant region. Compared with the existing ones, its upper and lower bounds are extended constants to functions of the space variable. However, we cannot apply the new invariant region to the traditional difference method. Therefore, we invent the modified Godunov scheme. The approximate solutions consist of some functions corresponding to the upper and lower bounds of the invariant regions. These methods enable us to investigate the behavior of approximate solutions with respect to the space variable. The ideas are also applicable to other nonlinear problems involving similar difficulties.  相似文献

This research aims to develop a time‐dependent pseudospectral‐finite difference scheme for solving a 3D dual‐phase‐lagging heat transport equation in a submicroscale thin film. The scheme uses periodic pseudospectral discretization in space and a fully second‐order finite difference discretization in time. The three consecutive time steps model is then solved explicitly, by using a preconditioned conjugate gradient method. The scheme is illustrated by an example which is used to investigate the heat transfer in a gold submicroscale thin film. We study the frequency chirping signals arising from spontaneously excited toroidial Alfvén eigenmode (TAE) waves that are being driven by an inverted energetic particle distribution whose free energy is tapped from the generic particle/wave resonance interaction. Initially a wave is excited inside the Alfvén gap with a frequency determined from the linear tip model of Rosenbluth, Berk and Van dam (RBV) [1]. Hole/clumps structures are formed and are observed to chirp towards lower energy states. We find that the chirping signals from clump enter the Alfvén continuum which eventually produce more rapid chirping signals. The accuracy of the adiabatic approximation for the mode evolution is tested and verified by demonstrating that a WKB-like decomposition of the time response for the field phase and amplitude agree with the data. Plots of the phase space structure correlate well with the chirping dependent shape of the separatrix structure. A novel aspect of the simulation is that it performed close to the wave frame of the phase space structure, which enables the numerical time step to remain the same during the simulation, independent of the rest frame frequency.  相似文献

Recent developments in ruin theory have seen the growing popularity of jump diffusion processes in modeling an insurer’s assets and liabilities. Despite the variations of technique, the analysis of ruin-related quantities mostly relies on solutions to certain differential equations. In this paper, we propose in the context of Lévy-type jump diffusion risk models a solution method to a general class of ruin-related quantities. Then we present a novel operator-based approach to solving a particular type of integro-differential equations. Explicit expressions for resolvent densities for jump diffusion processes killed on exit below zero are obtained as by-products of this work.  相似文献

This paper deals with the numerical approximation of the solution of a weakly singular integral equation of the second kind which appears in Astrophysics. The reference space is the complex Banach space of Lebesgue integrable functions on a bounded interval whose amplitude represents the optical thickness of the atmosphere. The kernel of the integral operator is defined through the first exponential-integral function and depends on the albedo of the media. The numerical approximation is based on a sequence of piecewise constant projections along the common annihilator of the corresponding local means. In order to produce high precision solutions without solving large scale linear systems, we develop an iterative refinement technique of a low order approximation. For this scheme, parallelization of matrix computations is suitable.  相似文献

本文以灰色系统理论的GM(1,1)模型和随机过程理论的Markov链模型为基础构建了一个动态GM(1,1)-Markov链组合预测模型。该模型同时利用了GM(1,1)模型对序列趋势因素良好的拟合能力和Markov链模型对残差序列信息的提取能力。为进一步提高该模型的预测精度,用泰勒(Taylor)近似方法和新信息优先的思想对该模型进行了改进。最后,以1991-2014年广东省单位GDP能耗数据实证了该模型的预测效果。  相似文献

This article considers the dual‐phase‐lagging (DPL) heat conduction equation in a double‐layered nanoscale thin film with the temperature‐jump boundary condition (i.e., Robin's boundary condition) and proposes a new thermal lagging effect interfacial condition between layers. A second‐order accurate finite difference scheme for solving the heat conduction problem is then presented. In particular, at all inner grid points the scheme has the second‐order temporal and spatial truncation errors, while at the boundary points and at the interfacial point the scheme has the second‐order temporal truncation error and the first‐order spatial truncation error. The obtained scheme is proved to be unconditionally stable and convergent, where the convergence order in ‐norm is two in both space and time. A numerical example which has an exact solution is given to verify the accuracy of the scheme. The obtained scheme is finally applied to the thermal analysis for a gold layer on a chromium padding layer at nanoscale, which is irradiated by an ultrashort‐pulsed laser. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
