This paper is concerned with the space of all compact adjoint operators from dual spaces of Banach spaces into dual spaces of Banach spaces and approximation properties. For some topology on the space of all bounded linear operators from separable dual spaces of Banach spaces into dual spaces of Banach spaces, it is shown that if a bounded linear operator is approximated by a net of compact adjoint operators, then the operator can be approximated by a sequence of compact adjoint operators whose operator norms are less than or equal to the operator norm of the operator. Also we obtain applications of the theory and, in particular, apply the theory to approximation properties.  相似文献

Motivated by a general dilation theory for operator-valued measures, framings and bounded linear maps on operator algebras, we consider the dilation theory of the above objects with special structures. We show that every operator-valued system of imprimitivity has a dilation to a probability spectral system of imprimitivity acting on a Banach space. This completely generalizes a well-known result which states that every frame representation of a countable group on a Hilbert space is unitarily equivalent to a subrepresentation of the left regular representation of the group. We also prove that isometric group representation induced framings on a Banach space can be dilated to unconditional bases with the same structure for a larger Banach space. This extends several known results on the dilations of frames induced by unitary group representations on Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

We prove that every multipolynomial between Banach spaces is the composition of a canonical multipolynomial with a linear operator, and that this correspondence establishes an isometric isomorphism between the spaces of multipolynomials and linear operators. Applications to composition ideals of multipolynomials and to multipolynomials that are of finite rank, approximable, compact, and weakly compact are provided.  相似文献

By using the technique of factoring weakly compact operators through reflexive Banach spaces we prove that a class of ordinary differential equations with Lipschitz continuous perturbations has a strong solution when the problem is governed by a closed linear operator generating a strongly continuous semigroup of compact operators.

This paper gives the concepts of finite dimensional irreducible operators((FDI) operators)and infinite dimensional irreducible operators((IDI) operators). Discusses the relationships of(FDI)operators,(IDI) operators and strongly irreducible operators((SI) operators) and illustrates some properties of the three classes of operators. Some sufficient conditions for the finite-dimensional irreducibility of operators which have the forms of upper triangular operator matrices are given. This paper proves that every operator with a singleton spectrum is a small compact perturbation of an(FDI) operator on separable Banach spaces and shows that every bounded linear operator T can be approximated by operators in(Σ FDI)(X) with respect to the strong-operator topology and every compact operator K can be approximated by operators in(Σ FDI)(X) with respect to the norm topology on a Banach space X with a Schauder basis, where(ΣFDI)(X) := {T∈B(X) : T=Σki=1Ti, Ti ∈(FDI), k ∈ N}.  相似文献

This paper firstly discusses the existence of strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces. It shows that there exist strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces with w*-separable dual. It also gives some properties of strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces. In particular, if T is a strongly irreducible operator on an infinite-dimensional Banach space, then T is not of finite rank and T is not an algebraic operator. On Banach spaces with subsymmetric bases, including infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert spaces, it shows that quasisimilarity does not preserve strong irreducibility. In addition, we show that the strong irreducibility of an operator does not imply the strong irreducibility of its conjugate operator, which is not the same as the property in Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

A topology is defined on the set of closed operators between two Banach spaces. We show that the set of Lipschitzcontinuous operators is open in this topology; the relative topology on this subset is the natural one. The notion of spectrum is defined for nonlinear maps, and we prove among others the following facts: the resolvent set is open and depends upper semi-continuously on the operator; for Lipschitzcontinuous operators, the spectrum is compact; the resolvent map is continuous. Then we examine more closely the cases of Fréchet-differentiable maps and of isolated points in the spectrum.  相似文献

Given a separable, infinite dimensional Hilbert space, it was recently shown by the authors that there is a path of chaotic operators, which is dense in the operator algebra with the strong operator topology, and along which every operator has the exact same dense Gδ set of hypercyclic vectors. In the present work, we show that the conjugate set of any hypercyclic operator on a separable, infinite dimensional Banach space always contains a path of operators which is dense with the strong operator topology, and yet the set of common hypercyclic vectors for the entire path is a dense Gδ set. As a corollary, the hypercyclic operators on such a Banach space form a connected subset of the operator algebra with the strong operator topology.  相似文献

A theory of quantum stochastic processes in Banach space is initiated. The processes considered here consist of Banach space valued sesquilinear maps. We establish an existence and uniqueness theorem for quantum stochastic differential equations in Banach modules, show that solutions in unital Banach algebras yield stochastic cocycles, give sufficient conditions for a stochastic cocycle to satisfy such an equation, and prove a stochastic Lie–Trotter product formula. The theory is used to extend, unify and refine standard quantum stochastic analysis through different choices of Banach space, of which there are three paradigm classes: spaces of bounded Hilbert space operators, operator mapping spaces and duals of operator space coalgebras. Our results provide the basis for a general theory of quantum stochastic processes in operator spaces, of which Lévy processes on compact quantum groups is a special case.  相似文献

Every well-bounded operator on a reflexive Banach space is of type (B), and hence has a nice integral representation with respect to a spectral family of projections. A longstanding open question in the theory of well-bounded operators is whether there are any nonreflexive Banach spaces with this property. In this paper we extend the known results to show that on a very large class of nonreflexive spaces, one can always find a well-bounded operator which is not of type (B). We also prove that on any Banach space, compact well-bounded operators have a simple representation as a combination of disjoint projections.

In this paper we consider a special class of continuous bilinear operators acting in a product of Banach algebras of integrable functions with convolution product. In the literature, these bilinear operators are called ‘zero product preserving’, and they may be considered as a generalization of Lamperti operators. We prove a factorization theorem for this class, which establishes that each zero product preserving bilinear operator factors through a subalgebra of absolutely integrable functions. We obtain also compactness and summability properties for these operators under the assumption of some classical properties for the range spaces, as the Dunford–Pettis property or the Schur property and we give integral representations by some concavity properties of operators. Finally, we give some applications for integral transforms, and an integral representation for Hilbert–Schmidt operators.  相似文献

We extend the concept of frame multiresolution analysis to a locally compact abelian group and use it to define certain weighted Banach spaces and the spaces of their antifunctionals. We define analysis and synthesis operators on these spaces and establish the continuity of their composition. Also, we prove a general result to characterize infinite trees in the above Banach spaces of antifunctionals. This paper paves the way for the study of corresponding problems associated with some other types of Banach spaceson locally compact abelian groups including modulation spaces.  相似文献

Using an isometric version of the Davis, Figiel, Johnson, and Pe?czyński factorization of weakly compact operators, we prove that a Banach spaceX has the approximation property if and only if, for every Banach spaceY, the finite rank operators of norm ≤1 are dense in the unit ball ofW(Y,X), the space of weakly compact operators fromY toX, in the strong operator topology. We also show that, for every finite dimensional subspaceF ofW(Y,X), there are a reflexive spaceZ, a norm one operatorJ:Y→Z, and an isometry Φ :FW(Y,X) which preserves finite rank and compact operators so thatT=Φ(T) oJ for allTF. This enables us to prove thatX has the approximation property if and only if the finite rank operators form an ideal inW(Y,X) for all Banach spacesY.  相似文献

There are, by now, many results which guarantee that positive operators on Banach lattices have non-trivial closed invariant sublattices. In particular, this is true for every positive compact operator. Apart from some results of a general nature, in this paper we present several examples of positive operators on Banach lattices which do not have non-trivial closed invariant sublattices. These examples include both AM-spaces and Banach lattices with an order continuous norm and which are and are not atomic. In all these cases we can ensure that the operators do possess non-trivial closed invariant subspaces.  相似文献

The Fredholm theory for compact operators on a non-archimedean Banach space E, as recently developed by W. Schikhof, does not work if the hypothesis of the completeness of E is dropped. This observation led the authors to introduce two new ideals of operators between non-archimedean normed spaces which, in the case of Banach spaces coincide with the ideal of the compact operators. They also investigate in various ways the possible equality of the three operator ideals.  相似文献

A well‐known result of J. Lindenstrauss and A. Pełczyński (1968) gives the existence of a universal non‐weakly compact operator between Banach spaces. We show the existence of universal non‐Rosenthal, non‐limited, and non‐Grothendieck operators. We also prove that there does not exist a universal non‐Dunford–Pettis operator, but there is a universal class of non‐Dunford–Pettis operators. Moreover, we show that, for several classes of polynomials between Banach spaces, including the non‐weakly compact polynomials, there does not exist a universal polynomial.  相似文献

By the method of geometry of Banach spaces, we have proven that a bounded linear operator in Banach space is a compact linear one iff it can be uniformly approximated by a sequence of the finite rank bounded homogeneous operators, which reveals the essence of the counter example given by Enflo.  相似文献
