A new adaptive beam intensity shaping technique based on the combination of a 19-element piezo-electricity deformable mirror (DM) and a global genetic algorithm is presented. This technique can adaptively adjust the voltages of the 19 actuators on the DM to reduce the difference between the target beam shape and the actual beam shape. Numerical simulations and experimental results show that within the stroke range of the DM, this technique can be well used to create the given beam intensity profiles on the focal plane.  相似文献

A method that uses the quadrant photodiode has been shown to be relatively inexpensive and robust in measuring Gaussian laser beam diameters in two axes. This approach requires neither component rotation nor precision alignment, and it facilitates integration of Gaussian laser beam diameter measurement with laser beam tracking in instruments. The physical gap between sensors in the quadrant photodiode, however, limits laser beam diameter measurements to those in the millimeter range. Here, we describe a modified approach to measure Gaussian laser beam diameters that are significantly smaller.  相似文献

The pulse width of the output from a Q-switched ruby laser is measured on the basis of holography of a moving object. It is shown that, when the object is rotating, the relative brightness of the reconstructed image decreases gaussianly with increase of the velocity of the object. Furthermore, we propose how to measure the frequency sweep in the duration of the pulse and also to relax traditional restrictions on holography of a moving object.  相似文献

In this study, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is introduced to optimize the multidimensional spatial selective RF pulse to reduce the passband and stopband errors of excitation profile while limiting the transition width. This method is also used to diminish the nonlinearity effect of the Bloch equation for large tip angle excitation pulse design. The RF pulse is first designed by the k-space method and then coded into float strings to form an initial population. GA operators are then applied to this population to perform evolution, which is an optimization process. In this process, an evaluation function defined as the sum of the reciprocal of passband and stopband errors is used to assess the fitness value of each individual, so as to find the best individual in current generation. It is possible to optimize the RF pulse after a number of iterations. Simulation results of the Bloch equation show that in a 90 degrees excitation pulse design, compared with the k-space method, a GA-optimized RF pulse can reduce the passband and stopband error by 12% and 3%, respectively, while maintaining the transition width within 2 cm (about 12% of the whole 32 cm FOV). In a 180 degrees inversion pulse design, the passband error can be reduced by 43%, while the transition is also kept at 2 cm in a whole 32 cm FOV.  相似文献

In this correspondence, micro-genetic algorithm (MGA) application results for optimizing the performance of electronic feedback of a laser diode are presented. The goal of optimization is to find the maximum bandwidth of the laser diode with electronic feedback used in fiber optic digital communication. A numerical analysis of the system theory of the single-mode laser diode to obtain numerical results of the gain, the pulse response, and the harmonic distortion for electronic feedback is also presented. The dependence of the system gain on the feedback gain and delay is examined. The pulse response is studied and it is shown that a transmission rate over 1 Gbyte/s can be achieved.  相似文献

To obtain the maximum output of a copper vapor laser (CVL), 8 parameters of the CVL system including the length and radius of the laser tube, the peak voltage, the repetition frequency, the wall temperature and the LC parameters of the discharge circuit are optimized by using a genetic algorithm. The optimization has increased the laser power by 89% from primary 91 W (corresponding to the empirical configuration for the CVL system used in an experiment) to 172 W (the efficiency has also been increased from primary 1 to 1.16%).  相似文献

Laser welding input parameters play a very significant role in determining the quality of a weld joint. The joint quality can be defined in terms of properties such as weld bead geometry, mechanical properties and distortion. Therefore, mechanical properties should be controlled to obtain good welded joints. In this study, the weld bead geometry such as depth of penetration (DP), bead width (BW) and tensile strength (TS) of the laser welded butt joints made of AISI 904L super austenitic stainless steel were investigated. Full factorial design was used to carry out the experimental design. Artificial Neural networks (ANN) program was developed in MatLab software to establish the relationships between the laser welding input parameters like beam power, travel speed and focal position and the three responses DP, BW and TS in three different shielding gases (Argon, Helium and Nitrogen). The established models were used for optimizing the process parameters using Genetic Algorithm (GA). Optimum solutions for the three different gases and their respective responses were obtained. Confirmation experiment has also been conducted to validate the optimized parameters obtained from GA.  相似文献

A method of measuring flow-birefringence is reported. In this method, a circularly polarized light wave is transmitted through the flow-birefringent medium. The transmitted elliptically polarized wave is compensated by a Babinet-Soleil plate to convert it back into a circularly polarized wave. The state of circular polarization is confirmed using the rotating-analyser method. Measurements can be carried out with a sample having a fixed azimuth. The minimum detectable optical retardation angle was 5 × 10-3 degree. This corresponds to a birefringence of Δn = 1 × 10-10, when the optical path length of the sample cell is 100 mm.  相似文献

An improved tomographic-image reconstruction method is proposed that uses a hybrid genetic algorithm (GA) that hybridizes a conventional GA and a concurrent simplex method. For the purposes of discussion, an axisymmetric phantom density field is used with an interferometric optical projection. Tomographic-image reconstruction using the hybrid GA not only improves the convergence over the pure GA but also significantly reduces the computation time.  相似文献

The results of experiments are presented for a single laser pulse interaction with a very low density gas target under conditions when the generated wake wave is below the wave-breaking threshold and the laser pulse power is lower than the critical power for relativistic self-focusing. 光束指向稳定性是高能激光应用研究中的一项关键指标,光束指向稳定性的检测是高能激光系统性能实现的重要环节。以长焦距聚焦反射镜与高分辨率CCD(charge coupled device)为主要元件,构建高精度的光束指向检测装置。采用灰度重心法定位光斑中心,并以理想光斑与实测光斑为例进行验证,误差小于1个像元。利用CCD高频采样,统计单位时间内光斑中心位移,获得光束指向稳定性指标,检测实例精度可达1.25μrad。该方法简便易行,测量精度高,适用于各种波长的激光光束指向检测以及其他相关参数的测量。  相似文献

Real-time processing of phase fluctuations of a laser beam has been considered in association with the phase of a beat signal of light. Two fine light beams, included in the expanded laser beam propagating through an artificially turbulent atmosphere, are shifted in frequency by two successive ultrasonic light modulators at slightly different frequencies, so that they can be photomixed to generate a beat signal whose phase is randomly modulated. The fluctuating phase difference of the two fine beams can be revealed in real-time from the phase of the beat signal. It is immediately processed by a conventional wave-height analyzer, from which a probability density and its variance are simply obtained. When the atmosphere is perturbed by the blower with a heater alone, the probability density takes the Gaussian form and the variance obeys approximately the 5/3-power law as the two beam separation is increased. When the turbulent atmosphere is further disturbed by some metallic mesh, the probability density does not always obey Gaussian statistics, but it depends greatly on the turbulent state of the atmosphere.  相似文献
