In this paper, the improved analysis for SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalk has been reported. The modified expression for XPM-induced crosstalk has been obtained and SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalks have been reported at varied walkoff parameter, modulation frequency, input optical power and transmission distance. It has been observed that there is exponent decrease in SRS-induced crosstalk with the increase in modulation frequency from 0 to 2.0 GHz. It varies with the increase in length and lie in the range of (−114 to −122.4) dB and (−115.5 to −124.4) dB at 20 and 100 km, respectively. Moreover, it increases exponentially with the increase in input optical power and lies in the range of (−121.6 to −130.6) dB at 10 mW and grows exponentially up to the range of (−114 to −122.8) dB at 60 mW optical powers at walkoff parameter of (13.6, 27.2, 54.4 and 81.6) ps/km. It has been observed that the XPM-induced crosstalk increases exponentially with the increase in transmission distance and modulation frequency for 2OD and 3OD. Furthermore, it has been found that the total SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalk rises exponentially with fluctuations with the increase in modulation frequency and transmission length in the presence of combined effect of 2OD and 3OD at varied walkoff parameters. 相似文献

In this paper, the impact of second-order dispersion (2OD), third-order dispersion (3OD) and modulation frequency over stimulated Raman scattering (SRS)- and cross-phase modulation (XPM)-induced crosstalk in sub-carrier-multiplexed (SCM) wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission link has been analyzed. It has been observed that there is significant effect of 2OD, 3OD and modulation frequency on the SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalk in a SCM-WDM transmission link. Here the results for SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalk have been reported with independent and combined higher-order dispersion. It has been observed that XPM-induced crosstalk lies between [−52.8 to −45.3] and [−94.7 to −78.6] dB in the presence of 2OD and 3OD respectively for modulation frequencies varied from 500 MHz to 2.0 GHz, while it is in the range of [−94.4 to −84] and [−128.5 to −117] dB when both SRS and XPM are taken into consideration. 相似文献

The performance of a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system with optical cross-connects (OXCs) and in the presence of polarization and nonlinear effects was analyzed. We determined the effect of PMD and PDL; nonlinearity such as XPM, SPM, and FWM; and CD on the system performance. We found that the system outage probability is highest at DGD threshold for the respective maximum eye closure (EC). We showed that the allowable DGD depends on the time slot for one bit T, which is the inverse of the network bit rate. Wider T is more immune to large PMD with the EC still maintained at the same level since DGD/T is unchanged. Our analysis also indicated that as DGD increases, BER increases. The BER also increases with increase in PDL and further increases with the presence of XPM, SPM, FWM, and CD. 相似文献

This paper presents a model that described the process of inter-influence between cross phase modulation (XPM) and polarization effects such as polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and polarization dependant loss (PDL) in an optical fiber communication system. Previous papers have discussed PMD-PDL and PMD-XPM effects in separate models, but in this work we developed a model that is capable of characterizing and evaluating PMD, PDL and XPM simultaneously. From the model, we found that PMD and PDL can be affected by XPM. The presence of XPM changed the vector directions of PMD and PDL in Stokes space. 相似文献

In this paper we propose the operation of an all-optical logical gate based in an acousto optical tunable filter (AOTF) operating with a pulse position modulation (PPM). The performance of an AOTF realizing two-input AND/OR logical functions, which can be applied in transmission and processing of signals in all-optical form in TDM systems, was examined. This novel integrated acousto optical logical gate operates with two ultrashort soliton light pulses (2 ps), which are modulated in agreement with the technique of pulse position modulation (PPM). Initially, we evaluated the effect resulting of an increment in the acousto optical interaction length, for the temporal position of the output pulse, considering the anomalous group velocity dispersion (GVD), nonlinear self phase modulation (SPM) and without loss propagation regime of TE and TM input pulses not modulated. We have analyzed the four possible situations for the two-input logical gate, modulating the TE and TM input pulses through temporal displacement and allowing a variation in the coding parameter offset (ε). We can conclude that is possible to get AND/OR logical operations for the modes TM or TE, without to insert PPM error, since a phase control (Δ?) exists (applied on the TM input pulse) in agreement with each situation in the truth table. Finally we defined the truth table, considering the adequate phase difference and coding parameter offset for the operation of the AND/OR logical gate based in the AOTF. 相似文献

提出了一种应用于WDM系统中的自适应偏振模色散(PMD)补偿方法。将偏振扰频器与基本正交偏振分束探测相结合,首先由偏振信号光功率PS和消偏的背景噪声PN得到光信噪比(OSNR),然后再通过OSNR与偏振度(DOP)的关系来实现多信道DOP的监测。采用粒子群优化(PSO)算法实现了DOP的搜索和跟踪,并经D/A转换,将对应的电压施加在偏振控制器上。调制电压范围为0~10V,调节信号的基本偏振态,从而形成闭环反馈控制模块。通过多次迭代,得到了DOP的最佳值,实现了对PMD的自适应补偿。补偿后,眼图张开度得到了明显的改善。论证了补偿方法的有效性。 相似文献
