We apply certain matrix inequalities involving eigenvalues, the numerical radius, and the spectral radius to obtain new bounds and majorization relations for the zeros of a class of Fibonacci-type polynomials. In this paper, the problem of control design for exponential convergence of state/input delay systems with bounded disturbances is considered. Based on the Lyapunov–Krasovskii method combining with the delay-decomposition technique, a new sufficient condition is proposed for the existence of a state feedback controller, which guarantees that all solutions of the closed-loop system converge exponentially (with a pre-specified convergence rate) within a ball whose radius is minimized. The obtained condition is given in terms of matrix inequalities with one parameter needing to be tuned, which can be solved by using a one-dimensional search method with Matlab’s LMI Toolbox to minimize the radius of the ball. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the superiority of the proposed method.  相似文献

This paper addresses the problem of reachable set bounding for linear discrete-time systems that are subject to state delay and bounded disturbances. Based on the Lyapunov method, a sufficient condition for the existence of ellipsoid-based bounds of reachable sets of a linear uncertain discrete system is derived in terms of matrix inequalities. Here, a new idea is to minimize the projection distances of the ellipsoids on each axis with different exponential convergence rates, instead of minimization of their radius with a single exponential rate. A smaller bound can thus be obtained from the intersection of these ellipsoids. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

The entry-wise product of arbitrary n × ncomplex matrices is studied. The principal tools used include the Kionecker product, field of values and diagonal multiplications. Inclusion theorems for the field of values and spectrum are developed in the general case and refined in special cases. These are employed to obtain inequalities involving the real parts of the characteristic roots and the numerical radius, and previously known results are found to be special cases of several of the theorems. In addition, the case of positive stable matrices is considered and a new class of nonnegative stable matrices is introduced, studied and related to D-stability.  相似文献

The generalized linear operator on a vector space over a commutative semiring which has zero and identity elements, idempotent addition, and invertible multiplication is considered. Some useful inequalities for the norm, trace, and eigenvalue of matrix are established. Based on the inequalities, simple proofs are suggested for the convergence theorems for the growth rate of the norm and trace of powers of the operator to converge to its spectral radius as the exponent tends to infinity. It is shown that the general expression for the spectral radius can be obtained as a consequence of the theorems. Several new inequalities are obtained for the modulus, the real part, and the imaginary part of a linear combination of the ordered eigenvalues of a square complex matrix. Included are bounds for the condition number, the spread, and the spectral radius. These inequalities involve the trace of a matrix and the trace of its square. Concepts of conditioning have long been important in numerical work on solving systems of equations, but in recent years attempts have been made to extend them to feasibility conditions, optimality conditions, complementarity conditions and variational inequalities, all of which can be posed as solving ‘generalized equations’ for set-valued mappings. Here, the conditioning of such generalized equations is systematically organized around four key notions: metric regularity, subregularity, strong regularity and strong subregularity. Various properties and characterizations already known for metric regularity itself are extended to strong regularity and strong subregularity, but metric subregularity, although widely considered, is shown to be too fragile to support stability results such as a radius of good behavior modeled on the Eckart–Young theorem.  相似文献

Hemivariational inequalities have been successfully employed for mathematical and numerical studies of application problems involving nonsmooth, nonmonotone and multivalued relations. In recent years, error estimates have been derived for numerical solutions of hemivariational inequalities under additional solution regularity assumptions. Since the solution regularity properties have not been rigorously proved for hemivariational inequalities, it is important to explore the convergence of numerical solutions of hemivariational inequalities without assuming additional solution regularity. In this paper, a general form of integral inequalities of Hermite-Hadamard’s type through differentiability for s-convex function in second sense and whose all derivatives are absolutely continuous are established.
