Bezrukavnikov, Mirkovic and Rumynin have recently obtained a derived version of the Beilinson-Bernstein localization theorem for the the Lie algebra of a semisimple algebraic group in positive characteristic p using the sheaf of rings of crystalline differential operators. A central reduction of is the first term of the p-filtration of the ring of the standard differential operators. We observe that the direct image functors of -modules on smooth varieties do not behave well; Kashiwaras equivalence for a closed immersion fails, for example. On the other hand, we find that the direct image as -modules of the structure sheaf of the Frobenius neighbourhood of a point in each Chevalley-Bruhat cell under its inclusion in the flag variety realizes upon taking global sections an infinitesimal Verma module.Revised version: 27 April 2004Supported in part by JSPS Grant in Aid for Scientific Research

If (X, J) is an almost complex manifold, then a function u is said to be plurisubharmonic on X if it is upper semi-continuous and its restriction to every local pseudo-holomorphic curve is subharmonic. As in the complex case, it is conjectured that plurisubharmonicity is equivalent to the positivity of the (1,1)-current , (the (1,1)-current need not be closed here!). The conjecture is trivial if u is of class The result is elementary in the complex integrable case because the operator can be written as an operator with constant coefficients in complex coordinates. Hence the positivity of the current is preserved by regularising with usual convolution kernels. This is not possible in the almost complex non integrable case and the proof of the result requires a much more intrinsic study. In this chapter we prove the necessity of the positivity of the (1,1)-current . We prove also the sufficiency of the positivity in the particular case of an upper semi-continuous function f which is continuous in the complement of the singular locus f−1(−∞).

We study the semilinear equationwhere is the Heisenberg Laplacian and is the Heisenberg group. The function f C2(×, ) is supposed to satisfy some (subcritical) growth conditions and to be left invariant under the action of the subgroup of consisting of points with integer coordinates.. We show the existence of infinitely many solutions in the space S12(), which is the Heisenberg analogue of the Sobolev space W1,2(N).Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 22E30, 22E27  相似文献

Let denote the set of Liouville numbers. For a dimension function h, we write () for the h-dimensional Hausdorff measure of . In this paper we locate the exact cut-point at which the Hausdorff measure of drops from infinity to zero. Namely, if h is a dimension function that increases faster than any power function near 0, then ()=, and if h is a dimension function that increases slower than some power function near 0, then ()=0. Let S be the spectrum of a discrete valuation ring of residue characteristic p>0. Let Z be a scheme separated and of finite type over S, and denote by Kc(Z,) (lp) the Grothendieck group of -constructible sheaves on the etale site of Z. In this article, we introduce the subgroup of virtual sheaves with virtual wild ramification zero, and we prove that this subgroup is preserved by the formalism of six operations “à la Grothendieck”.

In this paper we study the boundedness of spectral multipliers associated to the multidimensional Laguerre operator . It is well known that, for special values of , the analysis of the Laguerre operator can be interpreted as the analysis of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator acting on polyradial functions. Exploiting this relation, we prove that if M is a bounded holomorphic function in the sector satisfying suitable Hörmander type conditions on the boundary, then the spectral operator M() is bounded on Lp with respect to the Laguerre measure. We also prove that holomorphy in the sector S is a necessary condition for multipliers whose norm is invariant under dilations.

We study properties of Blochs higher Chow groups on smooth varieties over Dedekind rings. We prove the vanishing of for i > n, and the existence of a Gersten resolution for if the residue characteristic is p. We also show that the Bloch-Kato conjecture implies the Beilinson-Lichtenbaum conjecture an identification for m invertible, and a Gersten resolution with (arbitrary) finite coefficients. Over a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic (0,p), we construct a map from motivic cohomology to syntomic cohomology, which is a quasi-isomorphism provided the Bloch-Kato conjecture holds.Supported in part by JSPS, NSF Grant. Let E be an elliptic curve defined over and of conductor N. For a prime we denote by the reduction of E modulo p. We obtain an asymptotic formula for the number of primes p x for which is cyclic, assuming a certain generalized Riemann hypothesis. The error terms that we get are substantial improvements of earlier work of J-P. Serre and M. Ram Murty. We also consider the problem of finding the size of the smallest prime p = pE for which the group is cyclic and we show that, under the generalized Riemann hypothesis, pE = ((log N)4 + ) if E is without complex multiplication, and pE = ((log N)2 + ) if E is with complex multiplication, for any 0 < < 1.Mathematics Subject Classification (2001):11G05, 11N36, 11R45Research supported in part by an Ontario Graduate Scholarship.Research supported in part by an NSERC grant.

Let be an ideal of Noetherian ring R and let s be a non-negative integer. Let M be an R-module such that is finite R-module. If s is the first integer such that the local cohomology module is non -cofinite, then we show that is finite. In particular, the set of associated primes of is finite. Let f(l, t, n) be the maximal size of a family such that any l2 sets of have an exactly t1-element intersection. If l3, it trivially comes from [8] that the optimal families are trivially intersecting (there is a t-element core contained by all the members of the family). Hence it is easy to determine Let g(l,t,n) be the maximal size of an l-wise exaclty t-intersecting family that is not trivially t-intersecting. We give upper and lower bounds which only meet in the following case: g(3, 1, n) = n2/3(1 + o(1)).

Given a von Neumann algebra M and a W*-correspondence E over M, we construct an algebra H(E) that we call the Hardy algebra of E. When M= =E, H(E) is the classical Hardy space H of bounded analytic functions on the unit disc. When M= and E= H(E) is the free semigroup algebra studied by Popescu, Davidson and Pitts and many others. We show that given any faithful normal representation of M on a Hilbert space H there is a natural correspondence E over the commutant (M), called the -dual of E, and that H(E) can be realized in terms of (B(H)-valued) functions on the open unit ball ((E)*) in the space of adjoints of elements in E. We prove analogues of the Nevanlinna-Pick theorem in this setting and discover other aspects of the value distribution theory for elements in H(E). We also analyze the boundary behavior of elements in H(E) and obtain generalizations of the Sz.-Nagy–Foia functional calculus and the functional calculus of Popescu for c.n.c. row contractions. The correspondence E has a dual that is naturally isomorphic to E and the commutants of certain, so-called induced representations of H(E) can be viewed as induced representations of H(E). For these induced representations a double commutant theorem is proved.Supported in part by grants from the National Science Foundation and from the U.S.-Israel Binational Science Foundation.Supported in part by the U.S.-Israel Binational Science Foundation and by the Fund for the Promotion of Research at the Technion.

We show that under the assumption of Artins Primitive Root Conjecture, for all primes p there exist ordinary elliptic curves over with arbitrarily high rank and constant j-invariant. For odd primes p, this result follows from a theorem we prove which states that whenever p is a generator of (/)*/–1 ( an odd prime) there exists a hyperelliptic curve over whose Jacobian is isogenous to a power of one ordinary elliptic curve.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): Primary: 11G05; Secondary: 11G20, 14H40, 14H52Revised version: 3 February 2004Acknowledgements.
