First-order approximate first integrals (conserved quantities)of a Hamiltonian dynamical system with two degrees of freedomwhich arises in the modeling of central part of a deformed galaxy [1] havebeen obtained based on the approximate Noether symmetries for resonances1=2, 1=22 and 21=32. In this paper strongly nonlinear oscillator equations will be studied.It will be shown that the recently developed perturbation method based onintegrating factors can be used to approximate first integrals. Not onlyapproximations of first integrals will be given, butit will also be shown how in a rather efficient way the existence and stability oftime-periodic solutions can be obtained from these approximations. In particularthe generalized Rayleigh oscillator equation will be studied in detail, and it will beshown that at least five limit cycles can occur.  相似文献

In this paper a system of weakly nonlinear, coupled harmonic oscillatorswill be studied. It will be shown that the recently developedperturbation method based on integrating vectors can be used toapproximate first integrals and periodic solutions. To show how thisperturbation method works the method is applied to a system of weaklynonlinear, coupled harmonic oscillators with 1:3 and 3:1 internalresonances. Not only approximations of first integrals will be given,but it will also be shown how, in a rather efficient way, the existenceand stability of time-periodic solutions can be obtained from theseapproximations. In this paper a strongly nonlinear forced oscillator will be studied. It will be shown that the recently developed perturbation method based on integrating factors can be used to approximate first integrals. In additionphase portraits, Poincaré-return maps, and bifurcation diagrams for a set of values of the parameters will be presented. In particularthe strongly nonlinear forced oscillator equation will be studied in this paper. It will be shown that the presentedperturbation method not onlycan be applied to a weakly nonlinear oscillator problem (that is, when the parameter ) but also to a strongly nonlinear problem (that is, when ). We construct analytical approximations for the transition from strongly nonlinear, early-time oscillations to weakly nonlinear, late-time motions of single degree of freedom, damped, nonlinear oscillators. Two methods are developed. The first relies on (a) derivation of an analytic solution for the initial value problem of an exactly integrable damped system, (b) development of separate early- and late-time approximations to the damped motion using the integrable solution, and (c) patching of the two approximations in the time domain by imposing continuity conditions on the composite solution at the point of matching. The second approach relies on a multiple-scales application of the method of nonsmooth transformations first developed by Pilipchuck, but complemented with a corrected frequency-amplitude relation. This improved relation is obtained by developing two separate frequency-amplitude asymptotic expansions in the frequency-amplitude plane, that are valid for large and small amplitudes, respectively, and then matching them using two-point diagonal Padé approximants. Comparisons between analytical approximations and numerical results validate the two approaches developed  相似文献

The perturbation-incremental method is extended to determine thebifurcations and limit cycles of strongly nonlinear autonomousoscillators with many degrees of freedom. Coupled van der Poloscillators and coupled Rayleigh oscillators are taken as numericalexamples. Limit cycles of the oscillators can be calculated to anydesired degree of accuracy. An analysis is presented for a class of two degree of freedom weakly nonlinear oscillators, with symmetric restoring force. Conditions of one-to-three internal resonance and subharmonic external resonance of the lower vibration mode are assumed to be satisfied simultaneously. As a consequence, the second vibration mode may also be under the action of external primary resonance. Initially, a set of slow-flow equations is derived, governing the amplitudes and phases of approximate long time response of these oscillators, by applying an asymptotic analytical method. Determination of several possible types of steady-state motions is then reduced to solution of sets of algebraic equations. For all these solution types, appropriate stability analysis is also performed. In the second part of the study, this analysis is applied to an example mechanical system. First, a systematic search is performed, revealing effects of system parameters on the existence and stability properties of periodic motions. Frequency-response diagrams are presented and attention is focused on understanding the evolution and interaction of the various solution branches as the external forcing and nonlinearity parameters are varied. Finally, numerical integration of the equations of motion demonstrates that the system exhibits quasiperiodic or chaotic response for some parameter combinations.  相似文献

This paper deals with the most important characteristics of a generalized Van der Pol–Duffing oscillator in resonance with a periodic excitation. We use an asymptotic perturbation method based on Fourier expansion and time rescaling and demonstrate through a second order perturbation analysis the existence of one or two limit cycles. Moreover, we identify a sufficient condition to obtain a doubly periodic motion, when a second low frequency appears, in addition to the forcing frequency. Comparison with the solution obtained by the numerical integration confirms the validity of our analysis.  相似文献

In this paper an initial-boundary value problem for a weakly nonlinear plate equation with a quadratic nonlinearity will be studied. This initial-boundary value problem can be regarded as a simple model describing free oscillations of a simply supported square plate on an elastic foundation. It is assumed that the foundation has a different behavior for compression and for expansion. An approximation for the solution of the initial-boundary value problem will be constructed using a two-timescales perturbation method. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of the problem will be proved. Also the asymptotic validity of the constructed approximations will be shown on long timescales. For specific parameter values, it turns out that complicated internal resonances occur.  相似文献

Dynamics of a class of strongly nonlinear single degree of freedom oscillators is investigated. Their common characteristic is that they possess piecewise linear damping properties, which can be expressed in a general asymmetric form. More specifically, the damping coefficient and a constant parameter appearing in the equation of motion are functions of the velocity direction. This class of oscillators is quite general and includes other important categories of mechanical systems as special cases, like systems with Coulomb friction. First, an analysis is presented for locating directly exact periodic responses of these oscillators to harmonic excitation. Due to the presence of dry friction, these responses may involve intervals where the oscillator is stuck temporarily. Then, an appropriate stability analysis is also presented together with some quite general bifurcation results. In the second part of the work, this analysis is applied to several example systems with piecewise linear damping, in order to reveal the most important aspects of their dynamics. Initially, systems with symmetric characteristics are examined, for which the periodic response is found to be symmetric or asymmetric. Then, dynamical systems with asymmetric damping characteristics are also examined. In all cases, emphasis is placed on investigating the low forcing frequency ranges, where interesting dynamics is noticed. The analytical predictions are complemented with results obtained by proper integration of the equation of motion, which among other responses reveal the existence of quasiperiodic, chaotic and unbounded motions.  相似文献

引入分数因子和分数增量,给出了分数阶微积分的定义和性质;基于分数阶导数的定义,证明了含有分数因子的等时变分与分数阶算子的交换关系;提出了分数阶完整保守和非保守系统的Hamilton原理;建立了分数阶完整保守系统和非保守系统的运动微分方程;得到了分数阶完整保守系统的循环积分;并利用分数阶循环积分导出分数阶罗兹方程.最后给出了两个例子.研究表明利用分数因子给出的分数阶微分方程是一个含有分数因子的通常的微分方程,那么分数阶系统运动微分方程的求解都可以采用通常微分方程的求解方法.  相似文献

The fundamental and subharmonic resonances of a nonlinear cyclic assembly are examined using the asymptotic method of multiple-scales. The system consists of a number of identical cantilever beams coupled by means of weak linear stiffnesses. Assuming beam inextensionality, geometric nonlinearities arise due to longitudinal inertia and the nonlinear relation between beam curvature and transverse displacement. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are discretized by a Galerkin procedure and the resulting set of coupled ordinary differential equations is solved using an asymptotic analysis. The unforced assembly is known to possess localized nonlinear normal modes, which give rise to a very complicated topological structure of fundamental and subharmonic response curves. In contrast to the linear system which exhibits as many forced resonances as its number of degrees of freedom, the nonlinear system is found to possess a number of additional resonance branches which have no counterparts in linear theory. Some of the additional resonances are spatially localized, corresponding to motions of only a small subset of periodic elements. The analytical results are verified by numerical Poincaré maps, and the forced localization features of the nonlinear assembly are demonstrated by considering its response to impulsive excitations.  相似文献

A new energy-based system identification method is developed, applicable in situations where the dynamic response of a structure is measurable but the excitation is unmeasurable and describable only in terms of a stochastic process. It is shown that, in the case of a non-linear single degree of freedom system subjected to purely parametric, non-white random excitation, the power spectrum of the excitation can be identified through an estimation of the diffusion coefficient relating to the energy envelope of the response process. Through an estimation of the drift coefficient an identification of the system damping is also possible. The method is validated through application to simulated data relating to a Duffing oscillator with non-linear damping.  相似文献

The group method of solving ODEs without any quadrature goes back to Lie. In order to apply it, the number of symmetries admitted by a given ODE has to be greater by one than the number of arbitraryconstants in the general solution of the equation. In this paper, we use thetechnique of canonical Lie–Bäcklund symmetries that makes theproof of the statement concerning integrals of ODEs more evident. A structurally nonlinear contact problem of a punch shaped like a paraboloid of revolution is studied. An equation for the contactpressure density is derived with allowance for the radial tangential displacements of the boundary points of an elastic halfspace.
