It is shown, within constructive mathematics, that the unit ball B1(H) of the set of bounded operators on a Hilbert space H is weak-operator totally bounded. This result is then used to prove that the weak-operator continuity of the mapping TAT on B1(H) is equivalent to the existence of the adjoint of A.  相似文献

Under study is the class of ring Q-homeomorphisms with respect to the p-module. We establish a criterion for a function to belong to the class and solve a problem that stems from M. A. Lavrentiev [1] on the estimation of the measure of the image of the ball under these mappings. We also address the asymptotic behavior of these mappings at a point.  相似文献

In this paper, we will use the Birkhoff's ergodic theorem to do some finer analysis on the spectral properties of slant Toeplitz operators. For example, we will show that if is an invertibleL function on the unit circle, then almost every point in (A * ) is not an eigenvalue ofA * . In this paper we discuss diverse aspects of the mutual relationship between adjoints and formal adjoints of unbounded operators bearing a matrix structure. We emphasize the behaviour of row and column operators as they turn out to be the germs of an arbitrary matrix operator, providing most of the information about the latter as it is the troublemaker.

We give an elementary proof of a formula recently obtained by Hammond, Moorhouse, and Robbins for the adjoint of a rationally induced composition operator on the Hardy space H2 [Christopher Hammond, Jennifer Moorhouse, Marian E. Robbins, Adjoints of composition operators with rational symbol, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341 (2008) 626-639]. We discuss some variants and implications of this formula, and use it to provide a sufficient condition for a rationally induced composition operator adjoint to be a compact perturbation of a weighted composition operator.  相似文献

We develop the theory of canonical and pluricanonical adjoints, of global canonical and pluricanonical adjoints, and of adjoints and global adjoints to an irreducible, algebraic hypersurface V?? n , under certain hypotheses on the singularities of V. We subsequently apply the results of the theory to construct a non-singular threefold of general type X, desingularization of a hypersurface V of degree six in ?4, having the birational invariants q 1=q 2=p g =0, P 2=P 3=5.
