We describe global optimization problems from three different fields representing many-body potentials in physical chemistry, optimal control of a chemical reactor, and fitting a statistical model to empirical data. Historical background for each of the problems as well as the practical significance of the first two are given. The problems are solved by using eight recently developed stochastic global optimization algorithms representing controlled random search (4 algorithms), simulated annealing (2 algorithms), and clustering (2 algorithms). The results are discussed, and the importance of global optimization in each respective field is focused.  相似文献

In this paper, the two species Lotka-Volterra competition model of plankton allelopathy from aquatic ecology is discussed. The authors study the existence of solutions to a strongly coupled elliptic system with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions and consider the existence, stability and global attractivity of time-periodic solutions for a coupled parabolic equations in a bounded domain. Their results show that this model possesses at least one coexistence state if cross-diffusions and self-diffusions are weak. The existence of the positive T-periodic solutions and the global stability as well as the global attractivity for the parabolic system are also given.  相似文献

The notions of global subdifferentials associated with the global directional derivatives are introduced in the following paper. Most common used properties, a set of calculus rules along with a mean value theorem are presented as well. In addition, a diversity of comparisons with well-known subdifferentials such as Fréchet, Dini, Clarke, Michel–Penot, and Mordukhovich subdifferential and convexificator notion are provided. Furthermore, the lower global subdifferential is in fact proved to be an abstract subdifferential. Therefore, the lower global subdifferential satisfies standard properties for subdifferential operators. Finally, two applications in nonconvex nonsmooth optimization are given: necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for a point to be local minima with and without constraints, and a revisited characterization for nonsmooth quasiconvex functions.

This paper investigates global complete synchronization of two identical power systems and global robust synchronization of two power systems with parameter mismatch and external disturbance, both under the master–slave linear state-error feedback control. Some criteria for achieving the synchronization via a single-variable linear coupling are derived and formulated in simple algebraic inequalities. These algebraic criteria are further optimized so as to improve their performances. The effectiveness of the new algebraic criteria is illustrated by the numerical examples.  相似文献

We consider a class of kinetic models of chemotaxis with two positive non-dimensional parameters coupled to a parabolic equation of the chemo-attractant. If both parameters are set equal zero, we have the classical Keller–Segel model for chemotaxis. We prove global existence of solutions of this two-parameters kinetic model and prove convergence of this model to models of chemotaxis with global existence when one of these two parameters is set equal zero. In one case, we find as a limit model a kinetic model of chemotaxis while in the other case we find a perturbed Keller–Segel model with global existence of solutions.  相似文献

In this article the concept of saturation of an arbitrary regularization method is formalized based upon the original idea of saturation for spectral regularization methods introduced by Neubauer (Beiträge zur angewandten Analysis und Informatik, pp. 262–270, 1994). Necessary and sufficient conditions for a regularization method to have global saturation are provided. It is shown that for a method to have global saturation the total error must be optimal in two senses, namely as optimal order of convergence over a certain set which at the same time, must be optimal (in a very precise sense) with respect to the error. Finally, two converse results are proved and the theory is applied to find sufficient conditions which ensure the existence of global saturation for spectral methods with classical qualification of finite positive order and for methods with maximal qualification. Finally, several examples of regularization methods possessing global saturation are shown.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a constrained optimization problem with a quadratic cost functional and two quadratic equality constraints. It is assumed that the cost functional is positive definite and that the constraints are both feasible and regular (but otherwise they are unrestricted quadratic functions). Thus, the existence of a global constrained minimum is assured. We develop a necessary and sufficient condition that completely characterizes the global minimum cost. Such a condition is of essential importance in iterative numerical methods for solving the constrained minimization problem, because it readily distinguishes between local minima and global minima and thus provides a stopping criterion for the computation. The result is similar to one obtained previously by the authors. In the previous result, we gave a characterization of the global minimum of a constrained quadratic minimization problem in which the cost functional was an arbitrary quadratic functional (as opposed to positive-definite here) and the constraints were at least positive-semidefinite quadratic functions (as opposed to essentially unrestricted here).  相似文献

Two residual-based a posteriori error estimators of the nonconforming Crouzeix-Raviart element are derived for elliptic problems with Dirac delta source terms.One estimator is shown to be reliable and efficient,which yields global upper and lower bounds for the error in piecewise W1,p seminorm.The other one is proved to give a global upper bound of the error in Lp-norm.By taking the two estimators as refinement indicators,adaptive algorithms are suggested,which are experimentally shown to attain optimal convergence orders.  相似文献

In this paper,two auxiliary functions for global optimization are proposed.These two auxiliaryfunctions possess all characters of tunnelling functions and filled functions under certain general assumptions.Thus,they can be considered as the unification of filled function and tunnelling function.Moreover,the processof tunneling or filling for global optimization can be unified as the minimization of such auxiliary functions.Result of numerical experiments shows that such two auxiliary functions are effective.  相似文献

Both fluids are regarded as immiscible, nonhomogeneous, viscous and incompressible and subject to surface tention on the interface. This paper addresses the problem of global finite-time synchronization of two different dimensional chaotic systems. Firstly, the definition of global finite-time synchronization of different dimensional chaotic systems are introduced. Based on the finite-time stability methods, the controller is designed such that the chaotic systems are globally synchronized in a finite time. Then, some uncertain parameters are adopted in the chaotic systems, new control law and dynamical parameter estimation are proposed to guarantee that the global finite-time synchronization can be obtained. By considering a dynamical parameter designed in the controller, the adaptive updated controller is also designed to achieve the desired results. At last, the results of two different dimensional chaotic systems are also extended to two different dimensional networked chaotic systems. Finally, three numerical examples are given to verify the validity of the proposed methods.  相似文献

This paper is dedicated to establishing the global regularity for the two dimensional magnetohydrodynamic equations with fractional anisotropic dissipation when the fractional powers are restricted to some certain ranges. In addition, the global regularity results for the two dimensional magnetohydrodynamic equations with partial dissipation are also obtained. Consequently, these results bring us more closer to the resolution of the global regularity problem on the two dimensional magnetohydrodynamic equations with standard Laplacian magnetic diffusion.  相似文献

This paper deals with the problem of global exponential stability for bidirectional associate memory (BAM) neural networks with time-varying delays and reaction-diffusion terms. By using some inequality techniques, graph theory as well as Lyapunov stability theory, a systematic method of constructing a global Lyapunov function for BAM neural networks with time-varying delays and reaction-diffusion terms is provided. Furthermore, two different kinds of sufficient principles are derived to guarantee the exponential stability of BAM neural networks. Finally, a numerical example is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the theoretical results.  相似文献

It is well-known that all local minimum points of a semistrictly quasiconvex real-valued function are global minimum points. Also, any local maximum point of an explicitly quasiconvex real-valued function is a global minimum point, provided that it belongs to the intrinsic core of the function’s domain. The aim of this paper is to show that these “local min–global min” and “local max–global min” type properties can be extended and unified by a single general local–global extremality principle for certain generalized convex vector-valued functions with respect to two proper subsets of the outcome space. For particular choices of these two sets, we recover and refine several local–global properties known in the literature, concerning unified vector optimization (where optimality is defined with respect to an arbitrary set, not necessarily a convex cone) and, in particular, classical vector/multicriteria optimization.  相似文献

In this paper, the Leslie-Gower predator-prey system with two delays is investigated. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcations can occur as the delay crosses some critical values. In addition, special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcations. Using a global Hopf bifurcation theorem for functional differential equations, we show the global existence of periodic solutions.  相似文献

This paper is a geometric study of the global observer design for nonlinear systems. Using the theory of foliations, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for global exponential observers for nonlinear systems under some assumptions. Our proof for these necessary and sufficient conditions for global exponential observers if via defining two equivalence relations known as horizontal and vertical equivalence relations, and constructing two foliations known as horizontal and vertical foliations from these equivalence relations. Finally, as a corollary of our global theorem, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for local exponential observers of critically Lyapunov stable nonlinear systems.  相似文献
